    I have definitely been missing having Alina Lane's books in my TBR and this one did not disappoint! Warrick (War) and Chip (Imp...or ???) have lived in the same small town for a few years but know little about each other. He wants to get to know her, but she is determined to keep him and his playboy reputation at an arm's length. When War wins a bet that sets a three date agreement in motion, the sparks fly. Chip challenges him to an additional bet - learn her real name, and she'll give him 2 more dates. The third act breakup is both believable and brief enough to make sense but not drag out and feel overly angsty. A cameo of some of my favorite characters from Alina's Phoenician Heat series made this one a must-read and a new favorite!

    Warwick and Chip are adorable together in this holiday novella. It is a pretty quick read and a lovely way to spend the evening. There is some steam, but the best part is the cute banter. He falls first. There is a quick 3rd act split that is a little contrived, but overall worth a read. (Also nice holiday story that focuses on New Years instead of Christmas)

    I swear I've been going through withdrawals since my last Alina Lane read, and boy oh boy did this cure that! Chip (or Imp, as she's been dubbed by our hero) and Warrick have chemistry that is off the CHARTS steamy, much as you'd expect with a gorgeous red-headed heroine. The banter, the competitive spirit, the way that everything they do pulls one of them outside their comfort zone and that vulnerability builds their intimacy in such a beautiful way, this is one love story you're not going to want to miss. And I absolutely LOVE the sneaky cameos we get from her other loved characters. Alina Lane is one to watch- she's so strongly coming into her own as an indie author and this book is proof of her ability to knock one out of the park, even with a novella. Five beautiful stars for this read. See y'all on another page!

    Nine authors, nine novellas, and one small town during the holiday season. It's a quick read to lift the holiday spirit in everyone. Add in laughs and entertainment, mix in some angst and heat, and you have Warwick and Chip's story. Enjoy the banter in this New Year's focused tale.

    Safe. No om drama, minor ow drama. H is a player but has it bad for the h. He says he’s basically known she was going to be it for him when he first saw her three years earlier. She turned him down when he asked her out and instead of taking his time to get to know her and woo her, he continues to sleep around with a lot of the single women in their small town. He knows her enough to know that she gets her coffee at the same time every morning and he brings his ONS there after their night is over. She witnesses this many times in the three years.
    After they get together he leaves her alone in bed the next morning without saying goodbye or leaving a note. He also finds out some information about the h that he jumps to conclusions about instead of talking to her.
    h shows up to H’s work to find an old conquest all over him and with her hands in his back pockets. He doesn’t stop ow from doing any of this.
    The two get into a fight and both jump to conclusions without rationally discussing things. I don’t blame the h though for her thoughts. H is a known player, famous for his ONS and she finds him with another woman. I can she why she felt the way she did.
    I was really hoping that the H was going to end up being a big player in the three years since he met the h but I was wrong. He’s always disappointed when she turns him down but never stops to think maybe it’s his behaviour with women that’s the turn off. Of course the h has been celibate in those three years but she’s not a virgin.
    No cheating or abuse.

    This story is part of the Mistletoe Creek series. It is a wonderful story that will have you entranced. Chip is a spitfire who is determined to keep Warrick at arms length. Warrick has been enamored with Chip since the first time he laid eyes on her and wanted the chance to know her more. Together they are fun and the banter between them will make you laugh.

    I really enjoyed the push and pull between the characters. I also really loved all the side characters. I have enjoyed this series so much and I'm glad I got a new author out of it. Can't wait to read more of all the characters.

    Say My Name is book #5 in the Mistletoe Creek multi-author series. Books are all standalone.

    Chip and Warrick both feel the instant attraction, but Chip doesn't think Warrick is really attracted to her. Little does she know that she is it for him and has been since the first time he laid eyes on her.

    This is a great short Christmas read that gets you in the spirit!
