descriptionSo this one was just OK for me. There wasn't anything majorly offputting about it. I mean I obviously must have liked something about it since I kept reading. (lol) That said, there were a bunch of small issues that kept me from rating it higher. I'll get into those in a bit, but first, the writing was quite decent. It was easy to read and well paced. The overall plot was enjoyable, mainly thanks to Charlotte who I thought was a strong heroine (apart from one small detail). Rhys on his own was also a very likable hero. He was sexy. Alpha. However, for being Scottish he had ZERO accent which was disappointing. The sex was suitably hot, and there were a handful of intriguing secondary characters.

description

On to the issues...Lisa (the fuck buddy)...sigh...the crazy cliché OW whose whole existence seemed pointless and unoriginal. <--- I am BEYOND tired of this type of drama in books. Adding to my annoyance, it is 2019 can heroines please be allowed to have some sex? They can date, have sex, AND focus on their jobs. We are the Queens of multitasking. Charlotte hasn't had sex or even been on a date in FIVE years. F-I-V-E years people??!! I rolled my eyes.

description

Carrying on...I also had issues with the "romance" or rather, lack thereof. These two don't even get started until 50% through the book, and then we take off like a bat out of hell. I just never felt much of a connection between them. In fact, I felt she had more of a connection with Micheal her friend than she did with the hero. The final two issues I had were, it was beyond obvious (and a little farfetched ) what the secret would be. I mean, it was kind of ridiculous that Charlotte, a woman who built her own company, wouldn't have done research before accepting that offer. Last, the ending was SO abrupt that I was sure I must be missing pages from my review copy?

So ya, a very mixed bag with this one...

When two authors that you love decide to write a book together you do a happy dance and get beyond excited. I just knew that the bond that Kerry and Heather share would create a beautiful story.

Art imitates life a little in that our heroine Charlotte Rose, an American, has a British bestie, Louise. Just like Kerry and Heather.

I’m writing this review on International Woman’s Day because Charlotte IS the epitome of a strong woman. She throws off the claws of her every day life to live the life she wants. Uproots her life and goes for it.

Heather and Kerry excel individually at writing charismatic, powerful women; together their creation is the woman I aspire to be.

It wouldn’t be a romance book without a significant other. If you hanker after bearded, tattooed men you will love Rhys McAllister. And with a Scottish accent and the smell of heather (the plant not the author, although she does smell nice too) he had me at Pret!

Throw in to the mix sexy twins and a meat platter (I am vegetarian by the way but damn my boys would demolish it) and I’m smitten.

Great read. And St Paul’s is magnificent.

I was really looking forward to Saorsa as the cover is absolutely delicious and I loved the idea of a woman getting a second chance at love in her life. Charlotte was a fantastic heroine. She was strong, assertive and very well put together. I loved how she took control of her life, future plans and dove headfirst into a new beginning. But in all honesty, the romance in this story fell flat for me. In my opinion it had SO MUCH potential but felt a bit "too little, too late" towards the end.

Please don't get me wrong. This book was great in that it showcased Charlotte's journey towards a new chapter in her life, her sisterhood with her bestfriend and new and blossoming friendships but I felt the romance didn't really take off until about 50%. Without giving away any spoilers, it seemed like Charlotte was a little naive and oblivious about certain (obvious) things and then when it all came out, it just seemed awkward and rushed. Charlotte and Rhys were very sexy together (Hello tatted up gorgeous Scotsman and his Kitten) but alas that fiery chemistry could not really salvage the lack of romance for half the book and then the awkward rush to tie everything up in a neat bow towards the end. I am curious if Michael will have a book though and if we will have more from Charlotte and Rhys in the future. 3 stars ~Ratula

Five perfect stars!!! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
*ARC received in return for an honest review.

Omg, I FLOVED this book!! Deliciously sweet, so HOT, so real and so, so addictive. I have a huge book hangover. SAORSA is my new addiction. If it was a movie I’d have it on repeat, I need more!

I've been a huge fan of Kerry Heavens right from the beginning (Just Human is still one of my favourite series) and only discovered Heather Shere last year (adored Honey Bee), so I knew I was in for a treat and wow, what a treat Saorsa was! The plot flowed so quickly and effortlessly that you’d be forgiven for thinking that this duo had been writing together for years, instead of it being their debut collaboration. My attention was captured from the very first page, I couldn’t wait to see what happened to Charlotte.

Heavens & Shere have created such wonderful characters with flaws and issues that most of us could probably relate to which is what makes them, and the plot, so real and believable and, so easy to love. I loved the chemistry between Charlotte and Rhys, which was evident from the first time they met. It was passionate...electric and I found myself being swept away in the moment with them! *sighs*
I also loved the supporting characters, especially Michael, I have a very soft spot for him.
There was just enough angst to keep me on the edge of my seat but overall this is a wonderful tale of starting afresh, taking a leap of faith, finding oneself.

I want to say sooo much but I’m afraid of revealing spoilers but I will say I LOVED the ending!!

Something tells me we haven’t seen the last from this fabulous new writing team or, I hope, these characters as I’m not ready to let them go just yet. Plus, I NEED to know what happens with the other characters.

I loved EVERYTHING about Saorsa and I can’t recommend it highly enough, go 1-click it now and I’ll guarantee you’ll fall in love with it just as much as I have. Are you still here? Go on, get 1-clicking!

The blurb for this one had me intrigued and that cover was the final thing that nailed it for me. I had to read this.

The romance was a slow burn but I personally felt this book needed that. Charlotte was a strong sassy woman who had been through a lot and was now taking a chance again and moving her life in a new direction (I loved how she sorted out the ex-husband – the snidey snake!). Then when she meets sexy scot Rhys and then kept bumping into him at various places across London, you could feel something special was starting.

There was a big secret that I didn’t really comprehend why it had to be a secret but Rhys made that decision. However, I would have thought business savvy Charlotte would have looked into everything about a company that had head hunted her. Anyhow it’s fiction so I let that one pass.

I did love the build up and connection between Rhys and Charlotte and there was added drama with Rhys’ ‘ex’. I love the OW being played at her own game and shown the door!

This was feeling like a five star for me (besides the not knowing thing) BUT the ending was so rushed and everything being explained or happening all at once. After such a slow burn it spoilt the pace of the book. I’d have rather had a longer book (and yes, I’m greedy). And then that end? It was so abrupt I thought my kindle had died and wasn’t flicking to the next page or an epilogue. As I say this had so much going for it and although I enjoyed and loved it, with these minor issues it ended up being a four star for me. Still good but could have been amazing. Deffo recommend though. Grab it and devour.

4 Woman Power Stars!!!

Charlotte is a woman after my own heart. After years of trying to save her marriage and build up her business with her scumbag of a now Ex, she decides to take her life by the horns and moves to London to be with her BFF, Louise!

The very first chapter of this book had me doing a fist-pump because Charlotte is a woman that knows how to make a statement with the ending of one era and the beginning of another! Her move to London brings her so much happiness with her bestie and her new job that she again pours everything into, but enter Rhys a man that just is all sexy and swoony and Scottish and he wants her!!

I loved watching these two fight their attraction. Charlotte is strong and independent and refuses to have her heart broken again and she fears this man could easily do that...but Rhys is a man that once he sees something or someone that he wants there's nothing that will stand in his way...even if Charlotte tries really hard!!

I've read Ms. Shere before but this is my first book by Ms. Heavens and what an introduction. It's quick moving, with great primary and secondary characters leading me to believe we'll see more from this duo in the future and I can't wait!!

Definitely worth the wait!

Saorsa tells the story of Charlotte, a strong, independent woman and the greatest kind of heroine. After an unhappy few years were her ex husband attempted to run their business into the ground so she wouldn't be left with much, Charlotte packs up her life and moves to London for a fresh start. She moves in with her best friend and attempts to rebuild her life. Enter Rhys. The handsome guy she meets at the airport and who she continues to bump into in the weeks following her move. The chemistry between these two is undeniable, the only issue is Rhys' pest of an ex hook-up who still hovers around him.

I really enjoyed reading this, so much so that I'd had the entire book read in a couple of hours. I had a smile on my face from the very beginning. The only thing I would have liked more is the epilogue to have been a little longer. Although it reads as an ideal ending, I would have loved to see it played out.

The writing was effortless, it flowed and read very easily. I love the books from these two authors individually but them coming together to write Saorsa is a perfect match.

Can't wait for more from these two!

I have been blessed to read many great books in my life and this one just etched itself onto that list.

There was something so refreshing with this journey Charlotte took throughout this book. She was able to finally find herself and go after what she really wanted without doubting every choice. The chance meeting with the hot Scotsman in the airport and then later that night... you just wanted to know who he was and what it meant right off the bat. Then as the story grew and Charlotte kept having run in after run in with him you just knew he would be important in her journey. Even when you might have been second guessing what his role was and how he fit into her world - I knew it was going to be for the best... no matter if there was any strife.

Rhys, himself, was magnetic in his way. Everything he did had purpose. Even when I wanted to smack him... he had a reason for doing what he did.

Louise, girl... Girl! She is kooky and fun and just seems to have Charlottes best interest at heart and that is what a best friend is supposed to be! I am just hoping she gets her own happy (or 3) ending!

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!

A bloody fabulous book!

I know im on route to a book hangover when I find myself panicking two thirds through that the end is coming. Charlotte and Rhys's story is charmingly cheeky and full of passion.

Thank you Kerry Heavens & Heather Shere for writing a book with such a strong female lead, SAORSA was every thing I hoped it would be and more.

Final thoughts:

Everyone needs a friend like Louise.

When do we get Connor and Michaels stories?

I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I really enjoyed the blurb for this so that is why I took a chance on it. I'm typically wary of books written by two authors because everyone's writing style is different and it could end up disastrous. Another plus for me was the hero is Scottish!

This book was okay for me. I wanted to love it beyond belief but it just didn't do it for me. That doesn't mean it wasn't a good book. The characters are well written and both authors did a great job with them. They had plenty of chemistry together which was something that I loved. This could be the best read for some of you and that is why I gave it four stars.

“Can I get your number?” he asks, catching my elbow to halt me and then letting it go just as fast.I still for a moment then look back and shake my head. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”He faintly tilts his head and studies me for a moment. The crystal blue of his eyes bore into me, breaking his stare I look over at Louise and Cami.“Charlotte,” he implores in his rich whiskey voice. I move my gaze back to him, shaking my head. “How long are you in town for?”“I’m here to stay,” I reply softly.A hint of a smile quirks on his lips. “Maybe we will run into each other again then.”“Perhaps,” I offer. “If we are meant to be friends, I’m sure the stars will align and we will meet again.” I was channeling my inner Louise with that line of rubbish. I have to bite the inside of my lower lip to keep myself from smiling.“You are very intriguing, Charlotte.”My name on his lips gives me pause, but I force myself to finish our goodbye. It’s for the best. This is the first day of my exciting new life, the last thing I want or need is to get tangled up in a messy break up. “I’ll catch you later,” I say with finality. Turning to walk away, I try to make a smooth departure but trip on air. One second I’m falling and the next I’m caught around my waist and lifted back up to my feet. I don’t even have a second to process what happened before he speaks.“Careful, kitten,” he murmurs close to my ear. “You’ll hurt yourself.”I shiver, goose bumps ripple down my arms. I turn around to look at him and our faces are too close for comfort. I take a step back so that I can breathe. “Thank you, I’m not usually so clumsy.”“It was my pleasure…What’s your last name?”I wonder for a moment if I want to give him that information, but then it comes unbidden from my lips. “Rose.”“Charlotte Rose.” He takes my hand, bending down to kiss my knuckles. “Until we meet again,” he says softly, and then he turns and walks away.

I’ve heard your words ladies, so freaking much. Heather Shere and Kerry Heavens are new authors to me and it was such a delightful and meaningful encounter. Truly.

Laying on paper a beautiful story about second chances and taking what’s life has to offer, and the little plus, finding love along the way. I’ve been swept away from their meet cute who might seemed ordinary firsthand but conveying so much emotion, just by the looks and main characters’ behavior.

As you might guess I couldn’t put it down. I’ve been drawn to Charlotte and Rhys’ journey, a bit of wildness and craziness in the air, when you can’t fight with the smoking hot chemistry and magic operating in here. Le freaking sigh…

I enjoyed reading about that woman who’s going to see her life turned upside down by the sexy, tall dark and mysterious alpha she’s just met. As a woman who needed a fresh start after a failing  marriage, letting go and surrender to her desires was definitely not something she used to. Rhys was the kind of character who could captivate an audience, with his powerful and sexy presence.

I could sense a lot of things and some were really predictable to me but the authors managed to add some surprises about the turning events and let’s just say that I was pleasantly surprised. I was afraid of some overwhelming drama due to Rhys’ past lifestyle but the secrets that could tear them apart made them stronger.

The upfront tone and easiness to catch up the characters’ emotions was amazing. There was no pretense, they let their emotions guiding them, listened to their hearts, in spite of Charlotte’s reservations and wariness about finding something so strong and intense in a short amount of time.

Like a dream too good to be true. It took one determined man to make her fall for him, showing the way of being loved and trusted.

Charlotte and Rhys had this undeniable smoking hot chemistry, in and outside the bedroom, a banter that made me smile so many times. And holy smokes, the dirty talk. My kind of smut. Oh my!

It was a beautiful journey so spontaneous, to take what’s life has to offer and to see the bright side of things.

Charlotte is a experienced, clever business woman who conquers all she sets her mind to in New York. Apart from love that is.
After her divorce and the sale of her business she upsticks and moves to London for a fresh start with her best friend Laura.
Then she bumps into Rhys, a sexy Scottish man. He gives her goosebumps just talking to her! Men aren’t exactly at the top of her new agenda, so she chooses to ignore the feelings and sensations he awakens in her. Although she can only ignore them for so long.
After being head hunted by Liberty in London and going for a job interview, she immediately accepts the job and settles in well. Numerous meetings are arranged with her new boss, Mr McCallister but they always seem to be cancelled at the last minute. Meanwhile, out of work she continues to bum into Rhys and things progress far further than she knew she wanted.
She eventually finds out Rhys is the elusive Mr McCallister and it’s safe to say she is not happy! She feels stupid and betrayed. She’s already scared of love after a unhappy marriage and messy divorce, Rhys has now hurt her too. Will he help her to love again? Can he prove he deserves her?

I really enjoyed this book, the characters are very likeable and I got sucked into their story. I only wish we got to find out how things worked out with Charlotte’s job, how she manages to improve Liberty and also if they get their happy ever after.

Saorsa is such a swoon worthy read. I am seriously in love with Rhys and Charlotte. There is just something incredible about the way Charlotte takes charge of her life and ventures out into a new beginning. You will love Charlotte's ways and she will make you giggle from time to time. Now Rhys what can I say about him besides yummy. Oh and he's mine!!! He is a bit of a mystery for most of this one. But once you start to unravel him you can't help but to fall for him. I love how Charlotte and Rhys bring out the best in each other. Even as that one little secret comes out you can't help but to really fall for Rhys even more. He is just delicious. Kerry Heavens and Heather Shere did a fabulous job with this one. I love how they wove in the starting over and finding love when you least expect it with these wonderful characters that feel like you've known them forever. All I have to say is I want more not just of Charlotte and Rhys but Louise, Connor and Michael. I mean how can you not after reading this one. My heart is so full after reading this one. Saorsa needs to be read.

3.5 Stars

I really liked the heroine in this story. Charlotte was trying to make her life her own again. She has a great best friend and made new friends quickly when she moves to London. She is smart and savvy or appears to be when it comes to business sense.

So here is where it fell apart for me. She moves around the world and interviews for a new job but yet she never vets the owners or information about the company?? She just accepts the job, because they have researched her so well?? And of course, you can see the conflict coming from a mile away. Even when Rhys is explaining it away to her, she caves way to easy. Rhys is definitely a hotty but, I did not get the sparks and cupids between these two at all.

So Charlotte's naivety and the lack of anything more than physical between these two made me pull this back to 3.5. Highlights are the setting and the secondary characters (except Lisa) were all really interesting.

This is literally the best book that I have read in a very long time! I have been a fan of Kerry Heavens for a while, but this is my first time reading anything from Heather Shere. Let me tell you that a collaboration between these two is AMAZING!

Were it not for prior commitments, I never would have put it down and read through it one sitting. So instead it took me two days. After I read the last line I was left with a major book hangover. I need and want more, like right now!

I loved the chemistry between the characters - they all felt so real to me that I felt what they were feeling and was completely invested in what would happen to them. It's one thing to read a story and watch the characters from afar. Kerry Heavens and Heather Shere are able to make you feel everything these characters are feeling. I felt the happiness, loss, anger and irritation and most definitely the butterflies and tingles.

If I could give them more than Five Stars I would. Thank you ladies for your creation.

I have been looking forward to reading this book so much! Let’s start with the cover. The beauty that is this cover is amazing. The coloring and the image are just a indulgence for the eye. Kerry Heavens is a new to me author and I have enjoyed a couple of Heather Shere’s books. Their partnership in this book works really well.

When first introduced to Charlotte, you meet a strong woman standing up for what she wants and getting it. Embarking on a new life, she moves to London, accepts a new job and meets Rhys.

From the start, the chemistry between Rhys and Charlotte is off the charts! Starting with a slow burn and accelerating to blazing, their story was phenomenal read.

Through some twists and turns, outside influences and misunderstandings, Rhys and Charlotte find their HEA.

Ms. Heavens and Ms. Shere have written an outstanding book with a fantastic story line and amazing characters. I will highly recommend this book.

I'm not usually one for a romance book but there was something about the blurb that made me want this book . Charlotte's ex husband drives her from the company "they" built & into a new life in the UK , landing on British soil she bumps into a man in the airport & is intensely attracted to him & even after she's moved in with her besty he keeps showing up in places she is , fate maybe giving them a helping hand . Offered a new job she grabs it with both hands , new start , new job , new romance , life is definitely on its way up until Charlotte finds out Rhys , the gorgeous ,sexy man she has fallen head over heels for has a big massive secret that could destroy her . I loved the characters in this book , the storyline , even though Rhy's secret is a bit obvious , the side stories that run through the main one , i loved it all & couldn't put the book down until i'd finished it , will be reading more from this author .

4,5 stars of salvation and freedom for Charlotte and Rhys

I so hope there will be more coming my way. Charlotte just spoke to me. The woman I always thought I failed to become... Driven, passionate about her work and focused to reach her goals... Rhys the man I always dreamed about meeting one day and just fall for him... Okay I would go for Rhys in a heartbeat oh my gosh just look at the cover picture... Look at it... It's a perfect visual to the description of Rhys and Charlotte... This scene made my goose pimples pop... but with a lot of sensivity and subtle pokes this story took a mirror to my inner self facing the obstacles I never thought would come with success. Sweet story about the second chance to find your true one love and to appreciate the quality of living. I wait for Michael and Louise and Connor....

I liked this book quite a lot.
I love the cover, very rare you see these kinds of beautiful covers.
As for the story is a very slow burn between two characters that are coming from different words,as she is an American and he is a Scottish man.

I liked her as she took her life in hands and make something to change it, to feel more complete and to find happiness and in order to do that she decided to move from America to Scotland. She has a great relationship with her friends and is a strong heroine.
The story between the two main characters felt a bit rushed, maybe i wanted more of their time together, as the chemistry and everything was there all the time and quite a great one, they are a perfect match.

Great story and writing overall.

Saorsa was a heartfelt story of self discovery and love. While a slow burn, it never felt slow, I quite simply just adored every syllable.

The plot twist I had called very early on BUT it was still a book I happily got lost in (when I was hungover after a night of actually acting my age 🙈) and I had all the heart eyes over the characters and development!

The depth to the meaning of Saorsa is truly stunning, it captured my soul and warmed my heart (with explosive scenes to heat up any e-reader). The combination of this depth with a light, steamy love story was the exact perfect balance any romance reader will enjoy. I was addicted from the beginning and I really hope Heavens and Shere co-write more books in the future because their styles flowed together flawlessly!!

I devoured this book in one sitting! It was captivating. The first two chapters I was cheering on Charlotte as she dealt with her ex husband. She was brilliant and he deserved exactly what happened! Charlotte was a fantastic character overall. Professional, intelligent, accomplished, and successful. She packs up and follows her dream of moving to London to be near her best friend Louise and a new job.
In the airport upon arrival, she meets Rhys, and then keeps running into him around town. They eventually start dating.
I will say that I figured out who Rhys was pretty early on in the book but the reveal was much better than I expected. Louise wasn't the stereotypical sidekick best friend, and Michael was a nice new friend addition as well. I am hoping he and Connor get their own stories as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hated to have it end! I hope we get more of these characters in the future.

Rhys, a tattooed Scottish man living in London seems to be in the right place at the right time. He keeps running into Charlotte Rose, new to London and a CFO at a major financial corporation. Charlotte dodges his advances initially but finally relents and agrees to go out with him. What ensues is basically a whirlwind romance complete with crazy ex-lover, alpha male control tendencies, and a big ole secret that I feel like Charlotte should have seen coming.

This book sucked me in, and was a nice quick read. The characters were relatable, and the story was well written, but a tad predictable. Overall, enjoyable reading experience.

Recently, I’ve started but not finished SO many books. That didn’t happen last night...the only reason I didn’t finish it in one hit was because I was dog tired (bloody housework day!) I freaking loved it 💕 I didn’t want to skim read it but constantly looked at what % I was on just to be sure I could finish before real life kicked back in. It was as beautiful as it was passionate. I loved the journey, the cast and the life lesson that made up the story. Yep, that’ll be a big fat 5 stars from me! 😘

I really enjoyed this book, it was a page turner for me. I loved the characters and the story line and I loved that it was easy to read. It dropped a star for me because I felt it could have been more, however it is still a book I would recommend for you to read.

I really do hope that we have more from the supporting characters in this book. Louise and Michael's stories spring to mind. I also want the details of what happens after that fabulous epilogue too.

Saorsa by Kerry Heavens & Heather Shere is the story of Charlotte and Rhys.
Charlotte has decided to change her life and goes from US to London to leave with her best friend. But once there she doesn't change her habits of working to much with no real social life. Rhys and Charlotte meet but is a slow burn until they flame up. This might mainly be due to Charlotte but Rhys does keep something close chested about himself. Overall I enjoyed this book, by first by these authors. I will look for more from them.

I was kinda unsure how to rate this book. Four stars seem in a way too little because I REALLY loved this story, and it’s characters, and five stars seem too high as I felt it predictable at certain times.

All in all I will say that this story was original and well written. Rhys is super charming; description wise he’s the kind of guy I most definitely would cast an extra glance at. And Charlotte is a different kind of female character from what I usually come across; which is a BIG plus.

Charlotte is divorced and tired of her life so she decides to pack up and move to London with her best friend, Louise. She meets Rhys in a bar and things get interesting between them. This was a slow but good read that I liked and recommend.
