Wet : A Westbrook Elite Standalone Kindle Edition
So I guess it really wasn’t that surprising when I went out on a date with an Elite.
And then he tried to assault me.
I might be small, but I’m strong. I fought him off… then went straight to the dean.
He didn’t believe me. No one does.
And now my date from hell is in revenge mode, and I somehow end up in the campus pool.
Did I mention I can’t swim?
Lucky for me, a knight in shining armor saves me from drowning.
Except he’s not wearing shining armor. He’s naked.
And he’s also Elite.
Seriously, what is up with these Elite swimmers?
Of course, I have no intention of ever seeing his very good-looking, naked highness again.
Elite obviously can’t be trusted.
Until he wraps me in his hoodie and promises to believe me.
Now I’m drowning again—but this time in his enigmatic cobalt eyes and addictive touch.
My only oxygen is him. I think I maybe could fall in love.
But will he keep his promise when I tell him the truth about his teammate?
Or will trusting Ryan with my heart and my life be just another decision to regret?

About the author

Cambria Hebert is a bestselling novelist of more than fifty titles. She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair.
Besides writing, Cambria loves a pumpkin spice latte, staying up late, sleeping in, and watching K drama until her eyes won’t stay open. She considers math human torture and has an irrational fear of chickens (yes, chickens). You can often find her running on the treadmill (she’d rather be eating a donut), painting her toenails (because she bites her fingernails), or walking her chihuahuas (the real bosses of the house).
Cambria has written in many genres, including new adult, sports romance, male/male romance, sci-fi, thriller, suspense, contemporary romance, and young adult. Many of her titles have been translated into foreign languages and have been the recipients of multiple awards.

- Reviewed in Australia on 22 August 2022Verified PurchaseRory is determined to get proof that the elite swim team member at her college is hurting girls. No one believed her when she came forward but she can't stop thinking about all the other girls who will be his next victims. This leads to her almost drowning. But then along comes Ryan who saves her and believes her truth. Reading about them falling in love and convincing the rest of the college that there is a bad seed among the elites of the campus was amazing. I could not put this book down.
- Reviewed in Australia on 13 July 2022As with all of this authors books , you fall in love with the main characters . The story has a serious topic and was really well written.
Ryan and Rory are so good for each . Ryan is definitely one of the best book boyfriends that ive read about for a while and i think Jamie is going to come a close second when his book comes out . Loved the banter and looking forward to the next book .
- Reviewed in Australia on 17 July 2022Verified PurchaseCambria has definitely done it again. Absolutely loved this book. Can't wait to read Jaime's story !...definitely 5 stars ,wished I could have given it more!!
- Reviewed in Australia on 11 July 2022I seem to be in the minority of not reading anything from this author before. Don't get me wrong I have plenty of her books on my kindle but I just haven't "gone there" yet. So needless to say I definitely went into this book blind without any expectations and I am here to say I absolutely loved this book - which has left me a bit angry at myself!!
Ryan & Rory's book hits the ground running right from the very start. My heart was in my throat with what was happening to Rory, and it was definitely unique how these two first meet. Right away Ryan was invested, and he fell hard. Rory wasn't going to go all in too early - which was very understandable. But the connection between these two was something special, and with everything thrown against them it just made them stronger as a couple.
Add in some amazing secondary characters, who I hope all end up with their own stories as well, this ended up being one of my favourite reads so far this year. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book
- Reviewed in Australia on 28 December 2022This is my first book by Cambria Herbert, I am onto the second book now, these books are addictive!
Five-star plus from me.
Such an intense read, very fast-paced which for me is wonderful.
So much action and so many feelings added with the banter between Rory and Ryan is perfect.
Instant chemistry, is a connection between these two that ignites.
I still can’t get over how good this book is, a sports romance full of suspense that captured me from the beginning.
Jamie, Wes, Max and Madison are wonderful additions who will get their own story.
This is a must-read.
- Reviewed in Australia on 12 July 2022Oh this story gave me so many feels. This book was very well written.
- Reviewed in Australia on 27 April 2023Verified PurchaseFans of Hebert’s #Hashtag series will undoubtedly enjoy this new series starter, with its NA themes, college campus setting, swoony alpha heroes, strong and sassy female characters, and insta-love vibes out the wazoo.
Trading the college football field for the swimming pool, Hebert tells the story of Elite swimmer Ryan, who finds his forever girl in firecracker and school photographer Rory, when he rescues her from a precarious situation in which she almost drowns in the school’s pool.
The insta-ness of the relationship aside, I loved Ryan and Rory’s immediate and intense connection. There was possessiveness and passion and lots of raunchy claimings and juicy endearments. It was probably over-the-top and potentially unhealthy, especially in the speed at which these two became each other’s everything, but I gave no craps because it was hella romantic and steamy, and, quite frankly, I would be disappointed if this wasn’t exactly the style of EXTRA that I expect from a Hebert NA love story.
Beyond the hot and heavy romance, the plot was even more captivating, with Rory’s stalker/sexual predator and Ryan’s swim-team enemy—both one in the same—showing up at every turn to rattle the nerves and provide some intense (and impressive) suspense moments, which ultimately proved my favourite scenes in the story, if I think hard on it. (Remember wackadoodle Zach, who terrorised the #Hashtag crew? Yeah, well this new antagonist was just as twisted and determined to wreak havoc on our gang, and the characters were having none of it!!)
Of course, the secondary cast were a stellar addition to the story, too, making the heavier issues (themes of sexual assault and elitist misogyny among them) easier to handle. Jaime, Wes, Max and Madison were all scene-stealers in their own right, pretty much guaranteeing that I will return for the planned sequels, especially considering that Wes and Max have the potential to rock my socks off Trent and Drew style!
Simply put, this was a 110% fun, sexy, moreish read, that keep me glued to my kindle well past an appropriate bedtime. I can’t ask for much more than that!
- Reviewed in Australia on 11 September 2022Verified PurchaseAnother brilliant story from Cambria.
A fabulous read about Rory and Ryan … from the get go, you’re taken in with them and their connection.
Loved the secondary characters and whilst I adore Ryan, I reckon Jamie will either just pip him or come a close second when his story comes out next.
If you’ve never read Cambrian’s work, get on it asap! She writes amazing stories with characters you’ll fall for. Despite the serious nature of this book, Cambria handles the sensitive matter with aplomb.

5.0 out of 5 stars I just can't describe the brilliance of this book
Verified PurchaseI mean how do you even write a review for such an epic tale.
I am floored with how much this book captured my attention, resonated with truths and kept me turning page after page. My notes from each chapter were rambly, invested and jam packed of emotion and I won't even bother to count the amount of expletives that came out of my mouth reading it... My poor book bestie who was buddy reading with me may need to have her eyes washed out or pay for me to be censored ...oh well she loves me really.
The relationship was set perfectly with just the right about of protectiveness, chemistry, heat and trust. The characters had me on the edge of my seat, Rory had me laughing one minute with her sass and determination and had my heart breaking the next. Ryan had me absolutely melted into a pool, he made me smile, he made me shake my head and he made love. The side characters were just as important and exceptional, Jamie your one liners were en pointe and broke up the heavy so well, Wes you my boy are something special and have brought new light to the world and Maddison you my dear bring fiest, determination and secrets I can't wait to unveil. The villain, hands down the best villain I've read in some time and Herbert continually made me itch and squirm (not in a good way) before wanting to rail on him
I shouted, I got hot, I felt the sadness and fear and my heart was stuck in my throat so so many times.
I need a reread of this book soon and more I need to read the others in the series...
Thank you Herbert I may have cursed you at times but it was in the best possible way I promise. #readingismytherapy #readingismyescapefromreality and you gave me both in spades. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved Ryan!!!
Verified PurchaseIt’s been forever since I’ve read from one of my favourite authors Cambria! I’ve been waiting anxiously for a spare minute to finally sit down & read this series! I had seen all the reviews & thought I have to read this one soon. It did not disappoint! I hate to say it but I think Ryan beats out Romeo *gasp* for number one in my heart!
I loved Ryan & Rory! The chemistry between these two was great & I honestly just loved Ryan’s character! I also loved that Rory was a strong woman who was pushed to her limits a lot in this one & she just kept fighting! Plus the storyline kept me interested right up until the last page. I’m excited to read Jamie’s book next!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read
Verified PurchaseThis story was a really great read. It has suspense, comedy, drama and romance all delivered by a interesting group of characters. It has a few typos in need of editing, but nothing that takes away from the story.

1.0 out of 5 stars Une mauvaise copie de la série hashtag
