Tarnished Crowns Trilogy Book 2
Like with Chandelier, you begin with a glimpse of the end of the book. A glimpse that sets your mind racing and questioning, intrigue from the very start.
“The year of sirens and alarms has suddenly stopped, the roar of commotion ending as if a conductor has told the tin symphony to stop.”
This book picks up from the end of Chandelier, the tragedy sinking in, politics kicking off.
“Blair is no delicate petal of blossom. She’s steel and diamond and although she may be a chandelier she’s wired to withstand time.”
The story of Blair, Ben and Isaac continues to weave through the twists and turns being told by Ben in this episode. I have never read anything quite like this trilogy and normally wouldn’t pick it up, however Annie Dyer can do no wrong. It is not a book for the easily offended and is quite graphic at times.
Grenade is the second book in the amazing Tarnished Crowns Trilogy by Annie Dyer. You need to read Chandelier first. I received an arc of this book.
5 stars
- Reviewed in Australia on 15 February 2020Book 2 builds on book1 - secret revealed but you're still left with more questions . The mystery and intrigue is fantastic and will have you turning every page. Who are the good guys? who are the Villains?
Still the political world of an independent Scotland with everyone one wanting to own her is interesting.
We see more of the relationship build between Blair, Ben and Issac and its hot and sexy.
Loved Ben's point of view which was at times heartbreaking. Will he be able to save them?
Can't wait for book 3
- Reviewed in Australia on 7 October 2021Verified PurchaseHaving read almost all of Annie Dyer's other books I was not prepared for the brilliance of this book (and this series). Ménage romance with a political and royal twist is like catnip for me and the story of Blair - the spare heir to the Scottish throne, her bodyguard Ben and Isaac, the advisor to the PM of England ... this is a story of secrets, of love lost and found, of loss and heartache and of being true to yourself. Pick it up!! You won't be able to put it down!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great middle
Verified PurchaseGrenade is a great middle book in this trilogy as we learn all about Issac and Ben and watch them balance their familial obligations with the love they have for each other and Blair. I love development between these three and their romance is so sweet and passionate, but not quite fine tuned yet which has me excited for the third book!

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome book 2
Verified PurchaseThe second book in the Tarnished Crown trilogy. This time, from Ben's POV. We get some answers. We get new questions. We get hot smexy time between our favorite princess, and her two delicious men. The plot advances, and the book ends on a bit of a cliffy, as many a book 2s do.
The world of this series is fascinating. I'm digging the romance, smexyness, but I'm LOVING the world.
I received an arc of this. Also preordered because the whole series is just that good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!
Verified PurchaseGrenade is book two in the Tarnished Crowns Trilogy and this time it's told from Ben's point of view. The prologue again sets up Grenade so you know what's coming! You delve into Ben's past in this book and you discover that Ben's seen and done a lot and he trusts very few people! He will protect the people he loves to the ends of the earth. There were tears when I was reading this. So much hurt in his past. This story is truly amazing and has left me excited to see how this trilogy ends!

5.0 out of 5 stars “No one ever told me that you could break a heart by giving someone yours” -Ben
Verified Purchase“No one ever told me that you could break a heart by giving someone yours” -Ben. This book is full of love, passion and pain. It will ignite every brain synapse that you have. It is better than chocolate, ice cream and an unlimited credit card. Grenade is book 2 in the Tarnished Crowns Trilogy, and is told from Ben’s point of view. The story of deception, love, passion and angst continues.
So many people want to manipulate Ben. He’s a chess pawn in a wicked game of thrones. The assassination of Blair’s brother, the future king heightens political tension and makes her the number one target for more than just death. As the deception comes to a boiling point, so does the passion, and nothing is quite as it seems. A true test of faith for three people to love each other despite all odds.

4.0 out of 5 stars Counting down to #3!
Verified PurchaseA terrific successor to Chandelier! The political intrigue has me on the edge of my seat - I can’t figure out Ben’s secret! Incredibly hot bedroom scenes.
I love that each story is told in a different voice. Isaac is most fascinating - can not wait! Anything Annie Dyer writes I will devour - this is an atypical genre for me and I LOVE it! Counting the days for #3 :)
