Sophie, Almost Mine (Iron Orchids Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 799 ratings

One night my path crossed with Carter Lang, and my life changed.
He was the first cop to pull me over for speeding.
The first man to kiss me senseless and the first man to promise me forever.

Then the unthinkable happened, I received devastating news.
I walked away from everything we had promised each other.
Love couldn’t save me.

No matter what I went through,
One thing got me through my days–
The memories of Carter Lang.

Now I’m back, where it all began, and am left wondering…where is he now?

A very sad storyline. Carter and Sophie were teenagers in love and then Sophie disappeared leaving Carter frantic. 10 years later she goes back home and sees Carter for the first time leaving. He is very upset and has never got over her. Sophie has a really sad secret. Just when things are getting better between them there is a shocking twist, something I wasn’t expecting. Well worth the read, but you need hankies.

Lots of second chances throughout this story. Carter and Sophia meet up again after ten years.
A lot has changed since then!!

All the wonderful characters we have come to expect appear regularly through the story, how could a girl survive without her new besties?

5.0 out of 5 stars Carter and Sophie's story kept me buring through the pages

Wow! Danielle Norman certainly knows how to make you feel all the feels when she writes a book. I could not put Almost, her second book in her Iron Orchids series down. I love how she is able to write a complete stand alone, while creating a world you never want to leave. She is fantastic at intricately weaving multiple story lines through the book to make you catch up with characters from the past as well as create possibilities for future plots to form.

In Almost, the focus is on Carter and Sophie. Their story is ten years in the making, as it is about reuniting with a flame that never died. It is filled with humor, deep emotions and combustible chemistry. I burned through the pages and never wanted to put it down. The twists and turns of the plot were perfected by Danielle Norman. I truly can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.

4.0 out of 5 stars Incredible second chance...
Reviewed in the United States on 4 January 2018
I love love second chance romances. Almost is an incredible second chance romance. I defiantly had tears streaming down my face at one point. Almost is so so good. You get a little taste of Carter in Enough. Let me tell you in this one oh boy do you swoon for him. He can pull me over anytime. Sophie how my heart ached for her. Once you hear her story you just want to squeeze her tight. What is awesome about Almost is you get a little bit of everyone you meet in book one Enough. Be prepared for some antics that will leave you laughing out loud. Carter and Sophie have amazing soulmate chemistry and you can't help but to love them both. Almost is a book that needs to be read. Danielle Norman has fast become a one click author for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Read - Excellent Series
Reviewed in the United States on 4 January 2018
I loved this story! "Ten years ago you sped into my life and, Sophie, you've never left" is one of my favorite lines in Almost, the second Iron Orchids story. Carter and Sophie reunite after a decade apart, and the sparks fly between them. There is no denying that they are still very much attracted to each other but they both have secrets that could destroy a "happily ever after." When all the cards are on the table only real love can surpass the obstacles.
With the same wonderful wit and humor in Enough, Almost introduces more of the Iron Orchids' group of amazing women who start as friends but quickly form a tight bond. Don't even get me started on the men! Cops, EMS, Firemen...HOT. Almost is sexy, hilarious, and emotional (get the tissues out!). It's a fantastic addition to this series and will definitely keep you wanting more.
