Crank (The Gibson Boys Series Book 1) Kindle Edition
This is one mistake Sienna Landry can't buy her way out of.
As Walker Gibson looks at her, then at the damage to his precious truck (that she may or may not have accidentally inflicted), she knows she's in trouble. It's not the busted headlight and dented grill that's sunk her though. It's the downright sinful man in front of her that's the problem.
The small town mechanic is broody. Rough. Smells like engine grease and gasoline and Sienna isn't sure why that's so sexy, but it is. It so is. She's ready to peel off her panties at the drop of his wrench.
He wants her too. She can feel it when he brushes against her. Experience it as he presses her against the wall of the shop. It's thinly veiled in his deep, brown eyes when he looks at her like she's everything he's ever wanted.
So why won't he give in?
The damage to Walker's truck is the first of many mistakes between the two of them, ending with truths that rock Sienna's world. Nothing can fix her broken heart except the love of a man that won't, maybe even can't, love her back.

- Reviewed in Australia on 14 January 2020Verified PurchaseThis is my first read by this author and let me just say, I absolutely loved this book!!!
This story pulls you in from the get go. The first chapter introduces you to all the important characters i.e. The Gibson brothers - Walker, Lance, Machlan and their cousin Peck, and Sienna Landry and her friend/business partner Delaney. The setting is in the small town of Linton, Illinois.
Sienna is an amazing FMC. She’s strong, independent and wants to live her life her own way. She moves to Linton to escape her overwhelming life in Savannah, Georgia, and to get away from the limelight and cameras her family is constantly under; her father is a politician. She has four brothers (Graham, Barrett, Lincoln and Ford) and a twin sister Camilla that she loves and misses dearly.
Walker is a really great MMcharacter. He’s a gorgeous, quiet and very broody. He has also had a lot to deal with in his past (especially where women are concerned), so getting romantically involved with Sienna was a Big NoNo for him. But Sienna managers to sneaked up on him and before he knows it, he’s falling so fast, there’s no turning back.
This book is sweet and heartwarming, with a great and sexy storyline. It truly has some seriously loveable characters and you will absolutely fall in love with all the Gibson men.
If you’re looking for a small town blue collar romance novel to read that is really well written and very funny, then look no further because this book is for you!!!

- Reviewed in Australia on 19 November 2017Verified PurchaseEvery book I read of Adriana Locke’s becomes my new favourite. She manages to balance every emotion and make her reads electric. Her leading men are exceptional as she writes family and loyalty like no other and ‘Crank’ is fantastic and ticks all of those boxes.
It truly is “Southern royalty meets small town mechanic, 5 stars”. ‘Crank’ is the first book in the Gibson Boys series.
It all started with an accident and once Sienna locked eyes with the owner of the truck she just hit. Even though he certainly Is not the type of man that she would have dated in Savannah, with his scowl and cranky attitude he made her feel HOT. Something she never was even in the rooms of politicians and celebrities.
The next morning she realises she has to see him again in a few days at his auto repair shop. She can’t stop thinking about him and after seeing him again she still can’t read this man. This sexy as sin man who smells like grease and heartbreak. She was just drawing her to him...
Ultimately it was Sienna that made this book for me - she was AMAZING! The fixer with the biggest heart. She made me smile, especially at her confidence and the way she loved the Gibson boys and nana fiercely.
This book made me laugh, made me shed a few tears. Thanks Adriana for another amazing book!
- Reviewed in Australia on 1 April 2021Verified PurchaseThis is great story about a small town romance. Sienna the youngest daughter of a high profile family has moved to
a small town with her friend Delaney to start their own business. She meets Walker the town mechanic after smashing his trucks headlights. Her time in the town is coming to an end. Should she stay or go? Walker runs the towns auto shop. Sienna works those to pay off her debt for the damage to his truck. Can he keep her at a distance? Does he really want to keep her at distance. Walker needs to sort his life out before he can move forward. I enjoyed this series and look forward to reading the rest of the Gibson brothers.
- Reviewed in Australia on 22 December 2019Verified PurchaseReally enjoyable read. Loved that it included Sienna from the Landry family so read that series first. The Gibson boys and their Nana are great. Especially Peck he is a great friend to Sienna and Walker. Walker is your typical troubled broody guy but with a big heart. Sienna is a gorgeous, kind, generous smart girls who wants a life out of the limelight and she finds that with Walker in his endearing town. I would liked to have seen Walker and the Gibson’s meet the Landry family.
Good read. The Gibson boys are characters and I look forward to reading about the others.
- Reviewed in Australia on 22 February 2023KU REVIEW
This is the first of the books in this series about the Gibson boys of Linton, Illinois.
It's a small town, a little bit nosy, but more likely supportive and certainly welcoming.
Sienna Landry has come with her friend Delaney to set up a design business together but it soon becomes clear that her friend has family obligations that will leave Sienna in the lurch. Being in Linton suddenly feels rather temporary.
After a rather dramatic meet-cute at the local bar, we get to know local mechanic Walker Gibson and meet his cousin and brothers, as well as the adorable Nana .
Sienna is the first woman that Walker has met that he can't ignore, or stop thinking about. But instead of being happy, it seems to make him grumpy. As time goes on, the two get close. But Walker has been keeping a huge secret from Sienna. When it looked like she was sure to leave town, it didn't matter, but now?

5.0 out of 5 stars Sublime, sexy and sooooo romantic!💕
Verified PurchaseExtreme stubbornness, passion and sexual attraction abound in this story of broody and cranky (?!) versus bubbly and light. Beautifully crafted characters draw you in and make this an awesome reading experience, helped by a heavy whack of goonish humour! Want an awesome read? Then this is for you. You'll love it - promise. ❤💕👄💞💋💘

5.0 out of 5 stars Get CRANKED and fall in love with the Gibson Boys!
Verified PurchaseEvery time I hear about a new release coming from Adriana I get all giddy. I love her books and could not wait to read about Sienna and the Gibson boys in this new book and series. Crank is the story of Sienna Landry and Walker Gibson. If you had read the Landry series, you have met Sienna and her family. Walker Gibson is a small town mechanic. He is broody, moody, and hard to get a read on. Oh an add to that sparkling personality (haha) he is sinful and sexy in all the right way.
I fell in love with these characters and I not surprised in the least bit. I have come to be an instant one click for all things Adriana Locke. This story will grab you from the first chapter and keep you hooked throughout. Not only will you love the main characters Sienna and Walker, but the secondary characters will claim your heart also. I was fully invested in this story and read it in one sitting. This to me signifies a great read. It is one you can’t help but devour and then be sad when it’s over. Thankfully this is book one is the series so we will get lots more of this awesome family and these delicious men. The family dynamic is amazing and I became invested in all of these characters immediately.
This book was packed with emotion, all the feels, and tons of laughs. Locke has a way of drawing out the raw emotions of her characters and it doesn’t matter what the emotion is. She makes you feel it. It was no different with this book. I love that she chose to make the Gibson’s blue collar boys. I love the blue collar reads. I can relate to them more then to gagillionaires. Don’t get me wrong I love those too, but this story seemed more relatable, believable and real to me. You get a small town feel and Locke did an amazing job at giving the reader that feel throughout the book.
I mentioned the secondary characters briefly but I have to speak on one specifically. PECK! This man is life. I adored him. His banter, goofiness, sweetness, just all of him really. I cannot wait for his story!
This book is a must read! I give 5 swoony stars!!

Thoughts: I liked this book, it may not have been one of my favorites, but it was a good, quick read. It was something that I didn’t have much trouble getting into and was pretty lighthearted and easy to read.
After reading the Landry series, I took a break from reading Adriana Locke’s backlist but was exited to dive into the Gibson boys and finally get Sienna’s story. It was a fun read with some good humor and some big secrets. I liked the banter between Sienna and Walker. I loved the introduction to his family and Sienna’s relationship with his brothers and his cousin.
Most of the book was pretty fun, and I really enjoyed it. The only thing that threw me off was the third act conflict. There was a point in the book when I knew exactly what the problem was and I honestly almost quit reading. I felt a little blindsided by it, which I imagine was exactly how it was written to be. I’m glad I didn’t give up because the ending was worth it, but it definitely influenced my rating. I think if I had read this book in 2017 my reaction would have been different, but that’s always the catch 22 with reading an author’s backlist. What was great in 2017 may not be so great in 2025.
