    This book was the first for me from this author and I was pleasantly surprised! It had an element of mystery, angst and romance. Plus I liked how the main female character did not swoon so easily.

    There was good character development and it kept me wanting more.

    Looking forward to the next book in the series.

    I have never read anything by Louise Bay, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I will be now!

    THE RUTHLESS GENTLEMAN was brilliant. I loved every single page. I was sucked in immediately and I had a very hard time putting this book down. I wish I could have crushed this awesome book in one sitting, but as you all know, life has a funny way of preventing that from happening.

    Avery Walker is a saint, but she is drowning in guilt that left her brother unable to walk. Her mother walked out on her and her family after her brother Matthew's accident 7 years prior and instead of wallowing in misery, Avery takes a stand to help out her father, and instead of going to University liked she always dreamed, she sets off on a long adventure of Yachting to make as much money as possible for her brother's medical bills.

    Hayden Wolf makes a life out of buying and selling companies. As of late, a rival company has bested him for the last time and he wants to do everything in his power to prevent Cannon from stealing his next merger right out from under him. He has decided to go rouge, and Yacht for 8 weeks where there is no wifi, no cell service, and somewhere no one can find him, or any details about the "deal" he is working on.

    Hayden never expected to have and INSTANT attraction to Avery. He wasn't on the yacht to make friends or to sleep with anyone-he was there for business and business alone. But best paid plans are always going to fail and what he did find was scorching chemistry and instant trust with Avery, something he has never felt before, ever. As for Avery, the attraction is there is well. But it's against all her morals to be involved with someone who she is working for. There are rules when you are yachting, and her being the Main Stewardess prevents any client/boss shenanigans or relations.

    What are rules for? Breaking of course! Despite her high morals, and her need to help out her brother with his medical bills, Avery cannot stop the trajectory that she and Hayden are on. The pull is too strong and the need to finally do something for her and her alone is too hard to resist. He is enigmatic, clever and smart-she is beautiful, honest and lovely. The need to be captivated by the other is irresistible-it's as if these two were destined from the start.

    Bay clearly has a knack for creating wonderful, vibrant characters. She has honed her craft quite well if you ask me. I want to dig right back in and read this again, but I think I need to venture into another one of her well reviewed books.

    There were so many layers built into this story. A detailed background of all of the subs characters had as many particulars as her mains. Who knew corporate espionage and a sexy love story would roll so well together?! I didn't!

    I would throw my hand in a hat for another ARC from Louise Bay if given the opportunity. Her writing style flowed flawlessly and it was just so intense and perfect. I loved how she made me want to punch and hug Hayden simultaneously without me wanting to chuck the book right in the bin. The dynamics, "logistics", and overall story line were so engaging, I could have kept reading and reading about Avery and Hayden.

    I have never read anything by Louise Bay, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I will be now!

    My first book by this author, and won’t read another because I avoid suspense in my reading. Other than that, Louise Bay writes well, her characters are well drawn etc. It just boiled down to a personal issue for me…I find suspense ruins my enjoyment of a book.

    Spending a weekend curled up with The Ruthless Gentleman was such an awesome decision.  Hayden and Avery's relationship made me believe in the power of love and that love can conquer all.

    The logistics certainly weren't in favor of Hayden and Avery having their happy ever after but the journey they travelled was nothing short of amazing.  The beautiful Mediterranean  backdrop they were forced to endure helped set the stage for a heart-stopping, swoon-worthy fairy tale that dreams are made of.

    Even though Hayden may not be the most romantic gentleman, he still manages to melt Avery's heart with his gestures.  A girl can only  resist the charms of a man for so long. Avery is swept away and finds herself finally letting go and succumbing to the irresistible billionaire who stole her breath at first glance.

    All is not blissful heaven in Hayden and Avery's world. They have struggles and Hayden often refers to himself as a lucky ***k**r and I'd have to agree. Hayden is a lucky man to have the love and understanding of Avery but Avery is a very lucky woman to have the ever so competent Hayden Wolf in her bedroom. 

    I love Louise's stories and this one was no exception.  I was enthralled and captivated from beginning to end and I look forward to more from her in the future.

    I put on this audiobook, not expecting much from it. I’ve listened 8 straight hours and I want more books by Louise Bay!! I will be listening and/or buying her other books. I hope they’re as good as this one.

    The speech between characters is the only weak part if found so far. Beyond that, I’m hooked.

    She's a good author but this book is not. Too long and boring, but most of all I couldn't get over the fact that she is supposed to serve him. And not in a sexy master and slave way, she's just the help, the one supposed to clean his room. It's not enough that she's doing that because she is a responsible good girl willing to sacrifice her freedom to gather money for her family: she remains a maid and he is the self made billionaire - why couldn't she?

    There is chemistry between these two hard working characters. Not to mention looks, integrity, & love for their families. Though in the story plot both characters are trying to prove, & accomplish something to succeed.

    We have hot British Venture Capitalist Hayden Wolf under siege from an adversary who is purposely trying to undermined his business deals. By putting in silent offers & over bidding & quietly winning the companies.

    Since Hayden has lost out on the last several deals his financial backers are seriously considering of bailing from his company. Hayden has worked very hard to be where he is as well as make his father proud. He cannot let this next deal slip through his fingers. The only way he can do that is by isolating himself out to see from his company, office for the next two months. as his war hero younger brother Landon who is his security advisor suggests. No email, phones, & isolated from the world.

    Of course, Hayden's idea of isolation is renting a luxury yacht with full staff at his beck & call out in the middle of the Mediterranean. Where he will have to work old school legal pad, no electronics, or connections to technology because he cannot risk any chance of detection regarding this deal.
    He will be distant from a RIVAL that destroyed & stole his father's company dirty handed. "Canon" cheats & steals from others. Which is why Hayden has hired his brother Landon to find out the leak within his own company. He needs this deal with Phoenix to thru without his plans being shared to the enemy. This would be the biggest deal for his career.

    Avery Walker has been taking care of her family & working herself rag it for several years as the chief stewardess on the luxury yacht circuit. Mainly because she is the sole bread winner for her family that consists of her Father & younger brother. Her family situation is complicated because of the physical therapy her brother needs from a freak diving accident. Avery has always felt guilty for that day. While she works to support them. Her father can take care of his son. Since his wife left them because she couldn't handle their son's accident. JERK!

    Her father held the responsibility of both parents. He made sure they had the love, they needed thru the years. But now he has hurt his back & is out of commission, which is why Avery is going on charter tour after tour to make money for dad to take her brother to therapy.

    These two lead characters build a connection, not just physical attraction but admiration for their hard working ethics & Love for their families. Unfortunately this attraction is forbidden in the rules of Avery's job. NO relations with the Guests. But both find it hard to keep their attraction from affecting their work. Hayden is distracted by Avery, when he should be focusing on his acquisition he wants his company to build.
    Avery, cannot afford to lose this job, especially when the insurance has now lowered her brother's benefits regarding his recovery. Both try to stay away from their attraction but something pulls them together.
    The two get engrossed in their feelings for each other. Try to be cautious for Avery's position. While Hayden is getting frustrated that they cannot find the mole at his office. Though when Hayden has photographs showing Avery chatting with a man who is offering her $$. He sees the worst accuses her of selling out for money to protect her family. Avery, is devastated that he would believe that she would do that to him. She loves him & even though the money would help pay for the additional insurance. Her character & ethics that she was taught will not allow her to do such a betrayal. But Hayden doesn't see that until it's too late. When he finds out the truth, he will have to grovel, beg & give Avery the world if he believes that she will forgive him of accusing her of sabotage.
    Can they make amends, & love each other. Will their families be safe, secure. Can they make it work from two different countries?
    Read this hot couple & find out if love conquers all!! I would definably read the next saga if it was free which is about Landon the younger brit, war hero.

    A great storyline, full of drama, funny in parts as well as sad bits but a lovely romance, with a shocking twist nearer the end. Loved the characters in this book and the happy ending. Worth the read and looking forward to reading the next one in this series.
