Cheeky Royal (Winston Isles Royals Book 1) Kindle Edition
I'm not kidding. Turns out, if you accidentally set even one Duke on fire, everyone calls you 'Calamity Penny' for the rest of your life. So when the king sends me to drag the wayward prince back home, I think it's some kind of joke.
Except it's not.
Turns out my "Bad at my job" schtick is exactly why I've been chosen for this job no one else wanted. It seems the prince can spot a guard from a mile away. So he'll never see me coming.
I'm supposed to find him, get him to trust me, and convince him to come home, completing my mission and finally making my parents proud. Easy right? Wrong.
Because I'm not allowed to tell him who I am. That's right, I'm going undercover as the girl next door. To make matters worse, no one told me is that the prince is sex-on-a-stick who thinks I smell good.
How the heck am I supposed to do my job and not fall for this Prince Charming?

About the author

Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling author, Nana Malone writes Sexy Feel-Good Romance and loves all things romance and adventure.
That love started with a tattered romantic suspense she "borrowed" from her cousin. It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

- Reviewed in Australia on 1 December 2024A quick read gives us the story of Prince Sebastian who is first in line for the throne and it’s the last thing he wants, he finds out his father has two other children out there, so he goes out searching in the hopes that one of them wants to be next in line for the throne.
Penny is a Royal Guard and when the King asks for her move in next to him and watch over him to keep him safe.
Sebastian and Penny have incredible chemistry and there are some dramas, twists and turns and be warned it does end on a cliffhanger! It is an enjoyable, entertaining read and I will definitely be getting book #2.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and I am writing this review voluntarily
- Reviewed in Australia on 1 April 2018After losing contact with Sebastian after he left to attend boarding school at the age of eleven, Penny was shocked to be asked to help Guard and persuade the now grown Prince Sebastian to go back home.
These lead characters are so much fun, they get themselves into some jams..okay mainly Penny...but it's very humorous. They are such likeable characters too, very believable as so called 'normal' people in New York. The chemistry between them is extremely volcanic.
Cheeky Royal is a fast paced story that is very easy to read, a 'feel good' book if you will. I enjoyed the wonderful descriptions of the different locations, New York especially. Through the detailed descriptions readers get a clear visual of the characters and scenes.
The sexual tension between Penny and Sebastian builds up to a crescendo then explodes like a volcanic eruption. It's raw, sexy and hot as hell but also intimate and romantic too.
Warning this is a cliffhanger...I'm already looking forward to the next book!
- Reviewed in Australia on 12 April 2019Cheeky Royal by Nana Malone is the first book in her Royals Undercover duet. As I am eagerly awaiting the release of Return of the Prince, I thought I would go back to the beginning (from what I can tell) of these ROYAL stories and read Sebastian And Lucas' tales. I was not disappointed at all! Sebastian and Penny's story is off to a fabulous start. Hot and steamy, filled with subterfuge and a little bit of angst, even knowing the events from reading books further into this world I was enthralled with every page. Enjoy!
- Reviewed in Australia on 30 September 2022Verified PurchaseNo hea I feel cheated.
It was a drawn out story for no hea at the end to think there’s another book when this story could have been easily told in one book is just downright disappointing.
- Reviewed in Australia on 3 April 2018I have really grown to look forward to new books from this author. I'm guaranteed to get an interesting story with wonderful, playful characters in a well written book. While this book borrows characters from the author's other duets (Shame, Deep, etc) this story takes place outside of that environment. It isn't standalone so be prepared to have the story spread over 2 books but this allows a depth to the story that you just couldn't get in a shorter format. Looking forward to book 2.
- Reviewed in Australia on 2 April 2018My first read by Nana Malone and l loved this! A fantastic start to this Royals Undercover Duet! This was funny, sexy and kept you wanting more! Loved the banter between Sebastian & Penny/Len! That was a cliffhanger of all cliffhangers, and it will be one you will want read!
- Reviewed in Australia on 19 May 2019Verified PurchaseI was offered a free copy of this book and it did not advise that it is a 2 part story. Since I prefer to read a book that is a complete story, this was disappointing, and colored my opinion. The story is 'okay' but there is too much blasphemy for my liking. There are so many other expletives to choose from!
- Reviewed in Australia on 10 February 2022Unfortunately, I bought this book without reading reviews. The story is pretty entertaining; I'd have given it 4 stars, until it ends in the middle of the story. Not even a HFN.

Verified PurchaseZum Inhalt:

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, fab, passionate read!
Verified PurchaseThis is a fun, fab book with lots of amazing characters and is a blast to read!
The story is about Sebastian, Crowne Prince, who is wanting a different life to what has been set for him and Penny, a Royal guard, who also wants a different life from what is expected of her.
The pair are thrown together and neither is being totally truthful with the other but regardless a romance blossoms and their friendship and passion shine through.
I loved the way this was written, the dual person view and the little arguments each had with themselves, these made me smile and made the characters more real to me.
I hadn’t read any reviews so wasn’t aware that this ended on a cliffhanger (not my favourite thing at all as I’m too impatient!!) but it was still an incredible book and I’ll just go download the next book to see how it finishes!

5.0 out of 5 stars So much more than just a typical royal romance.
Verified PurchaseSebastian and Penny have a chemistry that can’t be denied whether it’s royal or not!
This is a couple that is destined to be together. But the question is can they? Here’ a Prince looking to strike out on his own and the royal guard person (a girl) who is assigned to watch and protect him. So ok that’s part of the set up for the story, but there’s so much more to it above and beneath the surface. I don’t do spoilers. So you have to read the blurb I’ll tell you what I found in this book. This story has intrigue, smiles, laughs, swoons, angst, a good plot line, tears, and heat very good heat! It brings all the feels and makes you appreciate what people in the position of royalty go through as well as the people who watch over them. Seriously, it can’t be easy living in a fish bowl. We see them and imagine they have it all. However, what they don’t have is their freedom. On the other side, we see what the guard goes through and we get to see how hard it is in society for a woman to break the seal of what has traditionally become a man’s post. In all this you get the understory that’s going on. I’m telling you this book has it all. There’s story inside story here and you’ll want to know about everyone involved. As you can tell I really enjoyed this book. As the saying goes there’s more than meets the eye going on here. I can’t wait to read the next story. To the author I say, Well Done You!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheeky Royal Review
Verified PurchaseALERT! This story ends in a cliffhanger!!!
What I liked mostly about this book is that the heroine is in charge of guarding the hero.
Penny’s family has been guarding the royals of the Winston Isles since the 1700’s. Penny has been given a job that she is not quite sure she can do. In fact, she says no to the King until circumstances that involve her boyfriend forces her to say yes. Her point of view was very fun to read about and lovable.
The relationship between Sebastian and Len/Penny was really good, it was not rushed the chemistry was huge and the pace of the relationship was really nice. In addition, the drama created by the characters were fun to read about. Oh, I did absolutely love Ariel.
Prince Sebastian has had enough of the royal agenda. He was a spoil t rich kid. But, gets some shocking news that made him go off the radar. Now no one can locate him and if someone did, he would just run off. Penny is sent to guard him and persuade him to come back home.
