I woke up to my roommate and best friend missing. In her place was a note on my bedside table that read: You can only find me with your eyes closed.
No one thinks a note like that is meant for them.
I knew it was meant for me, a clue, a way to seek Justice.
Whoever left me that note was hoping I didn’t let my parent’s legacy die when they did. They wanted to see what kind of warfare I was capable of.
Justice before starting a war with the man who wrote the rule book...

I woke up everyday to the same nonsensical bullshit that was my life.
They say only bad things only happen after dark but I was the exception to every rule. I was bad and I happened whenever I wanted.
I wanted someone to challenge me, put me in my place, force me to be better than war strategies and hold the audacity to traipse across enemy lines.
A pink haired receptionist wasn’t my first choice for shaking my resolve.
I can still smell her but I wanted to know if she’d taste like Victory.
Death before dishonor meant not losing to her…

Elena Monroe grew up in Florida scribbling down stories from a very young age. These stories were really just wavy lines filling the paper, but she knew each word, each emotion, each character's name, and there was no tricking her into forgetting what each line signified. Just like her unconventional way of writing as a toddler Elena is setting her own rules and just telling stories.

Much like her debut novel, The Best Years, life certainly imitated art. Transplanting from the South to the East Coast, Elena currently lives in Connecticut with her husband, reformed bad boy.

BAM, and just like that, Elena has done it again, another dark book that is amazing. The Test is book two in The 4 Horseman series, Vic and Justice story.

I had a love/hate relationship with Vic is book one, and now that we see a different side of him, I can say he is one of my favorites. He still can be a jerk, don’t get me wrong. It was great reading his character growths. Justice and Vic both have baggage, and that girl is his equal. She definitely challenged him.

Someone really needs to slap your privileged ass down,” she said while following me to my corner of the floor, so it lost its sharp edge.

“And you’re gonna be the pink-haired warrior who takes me down?”

Taking a step towards me, she raised her chin, while our chests nearly touched. “My pink hair doesn’t make me weak any more than your small set of balls.”

While enjoyed their journey, along with the darkness, heartbreaking, and steamy sexual chemistry, I couldn’t help but be team, Vic. When Vic falls, he falls deep and goes big. Khaos is still my top favorite, Vic is my second.

I received an arc in exchange for my honest review.

The Horsemen are back with a bang in The Test, the second book in The 4 Horseman series by Elena Monroe.

In The Test, we are now following Vic and Justice’s story-characters we first met while reading The Initiation, and let me tell you, I hated Vic’s guts in that book but, at the same time, I was intrigued by his dickish demeanor. So I wanted to know how Elena was going to manage to get his redemption.

But was Vic the kind of asshole that needed redemption? Hell, yeah, he was, but after reading his story, he became so much more than Vic the dick, and now the only way to look at him is with heart eyes.

Pink hair and a pair of converse, that was Justice for you, a ball of fiery energy capable of giving light even to the darkest man.

Vic likes winning, and so did Justice. And in this battle of wills, secrets will be spilled, and hearts will be broken.

One of the things I love the most about the story was the fact that the romance never got lost between all the mystery surrounding The Clave. Elena succeeded in perfectly mixing romance and suspense.

Unlike with Grimm and Abigail, with Justice and Vic, you could feel their connection from the get-go. It was so palpable you could almost taste it, and there was never a doubt in my mind that they belonged together. The only way to describe their relationship—fire meet gasoline.

Their journey was not an easy one, but while Elena messes up with your head and feelings, she also gives you sweet and funny—their banter was everything!

A sinfully addictive story that has it all, the romance, the intriguing plot, and the ability to suck you into its world and never let you go.

I passed the test, now bring on the KHAOS.

“I don’t want to take you down... I want you to destroy me before I destroy myself.” “I’ll destroy you if you destroy me.”

Justice is our hero here – she saved Vic from himself. He is the one to be feared, the one with the rules you don't want to break, a very handsome and deadly man. And yet, our pink-haired girl with neon shirts saw something in him, challenged him on daily basis..and nobody challenges our Golden Boy. Or maybe he found his equal?!..

Elena has this special way of storytelling, maybe not for everyone.. this is not cheesy romance, this is a challenging and thrilling story with layers of sarcasm and spunk, of love and death path. A mix of sorrow/pain and happiness. Well done Elena!

***4,5 "Conquest!!!" stars***

NOW AVAILABLE

"The ultimate prize wasn't love; it was defeating your greatest enemy."

If you would say to me that I was gonna fall for Vic, I would have laughed on your face!!! Now, you are the ones that you have to laugh into my face, since Vic managed to stole a part of my heart and I loved who he had become in here!!!
Don't fool themselves, I don't like the old Vic! But Victory without his myriad masks, it's a sight to behold!!!
What can I say??? I'm a sucker for bad boys with bad attitudes and this series has four of them and I believe that I already love them all!!!

"None of us are nice. We're all different types of evil. Some demons shout and others are silent."

The four of us were cursed, taken over by demons, or simply fucked by the thing called life in a way we couldn't fix."

Well, this series is getting better and better...
Yep, Grimm and Abigail left me speechless in the first book, but then Vic and Justice came along and OMG!!! Their story was epic!!! They were the epitomy of tortured souls and they had false perspective of how life and love had to be handled and they needed desperately someone similar to the other in order to taste their own medicine and realize that in love and life there are not only winners, but losers as well.... That they have to fight and forgive in order to feel loved!!!

The Golden Boy growing a heart?

Justice was a very independent girl!!! She was an activist, even though she was working for The Clave. She was strongminded on her beliefs and she wasn't allowing anyone to step upon her...
Her past was still after her and she was refusing to let love be the number one enemy on her life...
At the moment, her best friend is missing and she is determined to find out everything about her disappearance and what's better than to start from the 4Horsemen???
What she didn't think was that Vic would become a dangerous zone for her!!!

"Fuck justice before starting any wars. I was going to find the truth, even if it meant starting a war."

"He never loses, but I never give up."

Vic is one of the 4 Horsemen. He is the Golden Boy upon them!!!
He is the perfect, loyal and obedient member of The Clave.
He is ruthless and he doesn't care for anything else than winning...
But lately, Grimm's antics are starting to tumble down their perfectly structured world and he is getting agitated!!! It doesn't help the fact that Abigail's best friend is sniffing around them and he is the one that he has to deal with her...
The things are getting complicated when he is starting to see her as his greatest opponent on this 'war" between them and he was to be the one that he will get the win and conquer her body and soul...

"Who was Justice Fritz, and why did she have the upper hand?"

"She was definitely the opponent I had been waiting for. This was going to be my greatest win yet, when I finally broke her."

I really loved these two... I can say that I loved them a little bit more than Grimm and Abigail!!! The chemistry between them was off the charts... Their competitive streaks were battling all the time with each other's... They were made from the same cloth and that was bringing them in too many troubles... Also, Clave's secrets can ruin them forever.
Are they strong enough to let go their bitterness and competitive nature and make a big step toward each other without any barriers between them???

"She was peace, and I was a loaded gun. We were so opposite, yet so similar that it scared her to know just how truly bad I am, because if Im going to Hell, she probably was too."

"Hurting you doesn't fix me."
"Then what does?"
"You. You heal me enough to make me forget there's broken pieces rattling around in me."

Well, I freakin' love this series.... It's dark, intriguing and intoxicating and as the books are passing by it gets even more darker and messier...
I loved that in here we saw Grimm and Abigail for once again...
I loved that Grimm and Victory came closer, even though they have more miles to cover ahead of them...
I loved the friendship that is starting to build between Vic and Abigail!!!
I loved that even though i hated Vic's father, he became redeemable in my eyes...
And of course, i love that we're getting POV's from the other guys!!!
OMG!!! I'm craving Khaos and Bowen's stories!!! And I can not wait to read them!!!

"That's what I did: I planted the seeds, and chaos bloomed all around me." -Khaos

"Life was a great depression" -Bowen

"You rocked the damn boat, and now we're all drowning. You couldn't have just followed the rules?"

If you like dark and messy stories, this is one series that you don't want to miss.
Just TRUST ME!!!

That was the thing about Khaos: Someone always had to be laughing.
For me? Losing.
For Grimm? Living.
For Bowen? Uncomfortable.
We're a real fucking riot."

"I'm the war and you're the Victory.”

Second book in The 4 Horsemen series, The Test delivers us Victory and Justice's story.

This time again, I'm torn as to what to say. There were elements I absolutely loved and moments that couldn't hold my attention.

“My penis has never felt more unsafe, but you’re a badass.”

The atmosphere of The Test is tension filled, to tell you that Justice and Victory's relationship is chaotic would be an understatement. I couldn't get enough of Vic's @ssholeness. Although Justice is just as bad *insert giggles here*. With two names that resemble to a philosophy debate, the conflict is real. They never back down, they compete on every point. Their crazy banter had me bursting out loud, and sometimes fanning myself. They are complete opposites in their  beliefs but are fundamentally alike.

"Run away from me. Stop encouraging me. Take the loss and lick your wounds."

I found the cult part more interesting in this installment than I did in The Initiation. More questions arose and the Mrs Monroe created some twisted scenes, fueling the mystery. The connection with the other Horsemen took an enjoying turn.

However, there were parts that failed to convince me, too much sweetness killing the (anti)hero's personality. I like reading about evolution, adaptation, redemption, but when it comes to Vic, it fell flat. Besides, the part with his dad seemed a little rushed and furthermore anticlimactic.

I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ARC COPY OF THIS BOOK. THANK YOU!!!

This is the continuation of The Initiation. Abigail has a mystery to solve about a person she cares about. She was a badass throughout the novel. Her chemistry with Vic was amazing. They are both tortured - maybe even more so than the characters in book 1. The darkness is turned up a notch here. There are twists that you don't expect. Steam is once again superb. It was easy and quick to read. What else do you need?

The Test is book two in The 4 Horsemen series. It’s Vic and Justice story.

I was really looking forward to reading this second instalment, I was happy to find such a good story.

It’s no secret I wasn’t Vis number one fan when I first met him, but I definitely changed my mind throughout the story, with his mask off we learn so much about him and many of his actions are explained. I’m not saying he’s a saint nor will he become one, these boys are bad and they do bad things, but in this second book we get another perspective, we see more of the world these four grew up in, some of their actions are explained.

💗Justice has fast become one of my all time favourite heroine, she’s bad ass and lives her life with confidence, holding her demons by the end and giving anyone who tries to cross her the finger.

🖤Vic really doesn’t know what hit him when he collides with Justice, he thinks he can go to war with her and conquer his victory... clearly he needs to learn his lesson, and if there is one who can teach him his place that is Justice.

“I didn’t want to solve Justice because it meant winning. I wanted to solve Justice, because she felt like she was the only kind of peace I could manage in my life.”

💚We also get more of Grimm and Abigail, they’re fierce as ever and Grimm continues to own up to his name. I also enjoyed reading POV from other characters and start wading into their minds.

If you embarked on this journey you’ll definitely enjoy this second book. If you haven’t started yet and enjoy dark romance with cult vibes and unapologetic antiheroes you’re in the right place.
I can’t wait to read the next chapter in this series.

This was a B/F Reading with my lovely 💞Mimi💞 - Mimiorphee

4.5 dark stars

This book was yet another awesome read by Elena Monroe ! This is book 2 of the series which is dark and gritty but with justice there is light and love too and not in the corny way . Not at all.
Justice and Vic are ying and yang. Two opposites that make up a whole .
Vic has lost himself to his role in the clave , his mask so stuck to his face he can’t remember how to be himself anymore .
Justice too has lost herself along the way. And between. Her and Vic there is a battle of wills and values - I won’t say who wins ;) but ultimately they find each other and themselves on the journey .
This book biggest win for me was character development ! Especially Vic. Throughout the book he goes through a transformation and if you don’t like him from book one you will by the end of this one .
As so many facets of the clave are uncovered , strong holds and weaknesses too , relationships that are broken all of a sudden seem redeemable .
And there’s more to come !
I’m really loving this series and can’t wait to read the next one !!!

Elena has written yet another amazing book in The 4Horsemen Series! Justice and Vic are so much more than what I could have ever hoped for. Their journey, while tough and heartbreaking at times, is also incredibly hilarious and super sexy. I saw a whole new side of Vic that I never imagined existed and Justice just did what she does and slays all day everyday. I'll be adding Vic to my Book Boyfriend's along with Grimm, and I can't wait to see who's next!

Move over GRIMM- there is a new horseman in town, and I am all about Vic. To be honest, I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy his story after we met him in The Initiation, but I should have had faith. Elena has a knack for making dark, despicable, and/and disturbing anti-heros swoony- bringing an emotional dimension to her darkly flawed characters that make them so intensely humanized, that gives us empathy for their destructive, depraved, or dangerous habits. So Vic won me over fast- so much so, at times I found myself frustrated with the heroine for fighting him.

Justice really surprised me- she’s an unconventional character, refreshing in her uniqueness, and admirable in her integrity, her loyalty, and her fierce determination. She’s the type of character who champions others, champion causes- even if she has to be disruptive, which certainly catches the eye of Vic- a man who craves order, and abhors disruption because he likes to be in control. Because controlling is winning. There is a classic opposites attract dynamic, a love-hate push-and-pull that is really captivating. I found their chemistry to be the most dynamic of all of Elena’s couples to date- the tension, the obsession, the addictive draw between them. But, of course, Vic’s dark ties are dangerous, and we already know this world is abundant with secrets and plots and twists galore.

Elena is really hitting her stride with this series- perfectly blending her cerebral, at times enigmatic type of prose with the romantic suspense. The Test, in particularly, has the romance elements better balanced with the broader secret society intrigue - in part since we’ve laid the foundation we need in book 1. The result is that while this book had the fun mystery and the devious undertones of this Clave backstory it does feel more romantic. Dark, of course, but more romantic- the narrative allowing us to experience more nuances to the relationships. This series is a really nice merging of a broader suspense with interesting character journeys- a study of how these horsemen- and the woman who enthrall them- shape and evolves their own self-identity, both as the result of their association with the mysterious Clave but also as the result of finding real and meaningful personal connection- of finding love.

This is probably my favorite Elena book to date- and I’m just dying for Bowen! I imagine she’ll save the best for last.

"The Test" is the second book of the "The 4 Horsemen" series by Elena Monroe. Told in dual Perspectives , this book absolutely blew my mind!!

The Horsemen are back!!! When I first read about Vic in the first book , I was so intrigued by his dickish behaviour. I wanted his tory so bad and was so glad when I got to read it finally. This is Justice and Vic's story.

Justice was his perfect match and with her pink hair and extra energetic personality , she was the one girl who didn't hesitate to put him in his place. Both were stubborn as hell and their interactions intrigued me to no end. This book had the perfect match of mystery and Romance and that was probably the best and most attractive part of this book. The journey of these characters was not an easy one and I enjoyed it so much.

I am soo crazy about the other characters and can't even tell you guys how much I want their stories!!! A definite recommendation to all the dark Romance lovers out there!

⭐️ 4.5/5

This is the second book of this series and Wow I was not ready for this one. I expected Vic to have some mean, cold, calculating form to him, but boy, he was sooooo much more.

The chemistry that Justice and Vic have is like no other. TRUST ME!! Justice had Vic by the balls in ever since of the word. She played him as much as he played her, but I always felt like Justice had a hand up on him. She just had that awesome bad vibe. Her sass was hilarious to see Vic have to deal with her.

They both have tragic past that of course make you want to sob for them. They soften you up with those, but man they’re also so strong minded.

The Vic I saw in this book just made me fall in love with him. This series just keeps getting better and better.

Elena surprised me yet again with another mindblowing novel that sent me flying high on emotions! Her words were absolute magic! Addicting from the first page!
When I had met Vic in book 1 of this series, I swore that he wasn't my favourite but, boy, was my mind changed by the end of the book! I was in love with Vic and Justice had my soul.
He was an arsehole in the begining but understandable...while she was the fire, storm and the war.
These two were intense in their own ways, and their chemistry was off the charts!Opposites with more secrets than anyone could imagine, they take you on a ride while the Clave comes down on them
Dark, hot, angsty and so damn breathtaking, every clash between these two stole a piece of my heart.
The Test is a novel to remember!
I was so full with joy by the end of it!
With Justice, there's always Victory.
Definitely a favourite that I would read again!

Elena, Elena, Elena... you always do this to me, make me obsessed with your characters.. while reading The Initiation I was intrigued by Vic, consumed by is attitude and his all around dickish demeanor, what can I say I love a jerk in a suit.. I needed his book..

After reading The Test Vic became so much more then just a jerk, or a man trying to be perfect, he became someone who showed he has a heart, and would gladly give it to someone who truly deserved it..Elena showed me a side of Vic I didn’t even think was possible.. He was sweet, caring, will do what he needed for his girl..and still was able to be a jerk just how I like my men!

Then Elena gave us Justice, what can I say, her energy is everything we want in our female characters, she is able to be bad ass, strong sassy and effing gorgeous all with pink hair and converse! She has no problem taking what she wants and giving you the middle finger if you don’t like what she’s doing and I love that about her!

Vic and Jus...hot, steam, chemistry for days, they can’t even be around each other with out igniting heat that is to die for, doesn’t matter if they’re fighting or tearing clothes of off each other...their steam, love, chemistry is everything..

This is another must read, she makes us always want so much more!!! I’m so ready for Khaos..

I am going to make this review short and sweet because I really don’t want to give anything away. I am so glad that book two was about Vic and Justice. If it wasn’t, I don’t know what I would have done. I knew from the first time that these two were introduced in book one that they were getting their own book no doubt about it. They have such great chemistry and no matter how hard they tried to deny the attraction, they inevitably failed. They had a great story, a heartbreaking path to take, where some tears were shed but they are such a great team with a great relationship. I’m really excited to read more and see who’s next!

And just like that we have Vic the dicks book. Let me tell you how fucking shook I am at all that is this book.

Vic and Justice take hate to love to a whole new level with their need to win, the darkness that consumes them and the tangible tension burning between them. They are bad for eachother in the worst ways but it feels so damn right that nothing else matters.

We all know Vic is a royal class dick in the biggest most arrogant no fucks given way. And yet I still wanted to know what kind of damage lay beneath that perfect persona he tried his hardest to uphold. Lord was I not ready for the havoc good ol Vic boy was about to cause. The man with many layers. Vic is not so clean cut as one may assume. Oh we are all aware that each man is their very own breed of fucked up but the others.. they wear it like armour, they don't hide it in plain sight. Vic though.. ohh he hid his under all that show of perfection and self righteousness and when it blew up in his face I was there for it. The messy Vic. Man the sweet and attentiveness alongside that cocky arrogance just ticked my boxes. Vicy the hippie is everything.

Justice is her namesake for sure. I do love me a strong sassy take no shit female and she is that and then some. Ahh the way she pushed his bottons and still came back for more always coming out on top and never settling for second place. Ooooeee Lordy she is the fire that leaves destruction in her path of justice. I love that she was under no illusions of who or what she was involved in and took everything in her stride with no fear and ever bit of sass she possessed. She owned her broken in a way that made me respect the hell out of her as a character. She is unapologetically herself and I was there for it.

These two are positively explosive. Honestly at points I wasn't sure if they were going to fuck or kill eachother. They just had this dangerous chemistry that surrounded them whenever they were in eachothers vicinity and it was freaking palpable through the pages. I could not get enough of their back and forth bickering sass filled foreplay. I loved getting to see their barriers breaking down and them soften a little to eachother bringing out yet another side to their personality. I feel like there was a huge amount of growth in these characters as there journey unfolds and they face the unknown and uncovers secrets and lies that they could never have anticipated.

It is definitely safe to say that this story wasn't a easy one by any means and even at times beyond frustrating. The characters are erratic, raw and at times unlikeable. Their imperfections are like a badges of honer for the world to see and sometimes it's bittersweet but it's also relatable. They aren't perfect and they make plenty of mistakes but it was worth it to get that ending. Every character in this series is unique and fascinating and all kinds of fucked up in their own special way that makes you want to know more. Makes you crave answers.

Elena never fails to write unpredictable emotionally impactful stories that take you on a crazy journey. It's suspenseful, frustrating, hilarious, hugely dysfunctional, a whole lot of fucked up and even a little sweet. The story requires your attention in every sense because it's not a easy read. This world is complex and woven from book to book so its best to start at the beginning so you have all the facts and even then it's gets ALOT. I don't the know how she does it but the details are crazy. It's seamlessly written and flows perfectly despite the fact it had so much going on. I just can't with it. She write in a way that completely consumes me as a reader and demands my focus. Even after finishing it I'm still pondering over wtf just happened.

Now I'm desperate for both Bowen and Khaos but something in my fucked up mind is telling me the one who parades his happy so hard is the one with the most damage deep down and I want to know his damage. Khaos has my mind going crazy.

Also I freaking loved getting a peak at Grimm and Abigail. I loved getting to see them and their quirky dynamics again and also the friendship that blossomed between Abigail and Vic... like random AF but also fucking brilliant. I was so here for the awesome deadly foursome and their growing band of crazy.

Sidenote.. am I the only one curious about Zeus?... I feel like I need more.

The Test by Elena Monroe is book two in the 4 horsemen series. Each book is about a new member, our members including Grimm, Vic, Khaos, and Boen.

This is Vic’s and Justice Story!

Starting the Test, I knew that this book was going to be addicting, it pulled me in and grasped my whole attention throughout. It consumed me, and wired me in like no other. When a book can do that, that is when you know that it is going to be a kick ass book.

There is so much yet to say about this book but I am gonna be very tight lipped on things as I don’t wanna ruin aspects of Vic and Justice Story. When I first met Vic in the previous book, he definitely lived up to his name being Vic the Dick. He was such a jerk, a massive dick face who I just wanted to punch in the face but whilst reading this book. Oh My God did my views change.

They changed for the better, this book pulled Vic right down to his inner core and revealed such a vulnerable side to him that I never expected him to have. He comes off as this asshole type guy but in reality he actually is not. His the complete opposite, but then finding his person in justice really brought out the best in him, made him want to be better for her and made him go through a lot of self discovery.

Justice is literally goals, everything about her I loved. She wants what she wants, she believes in what she wants and is not afraid to speak her truth. She’s sassy, fiery and is quite frankly not afraid to put you in you’re place but above all that, she of course had her vulnerability parts that Vic was able to see straight away.

These two together, the games they played and how hungry they were for winning was what made these two a power couple. I loved watching them knock heads and go to battle.

It wouldn’t be a book without having all the hard shit and the twist and turns that give these two a rocky road to their happily ever after. Quite frankly, I did not see that twist coming, that completely blew my mind to smithereens. Love doesn’t come easy and this book is a true telling of that.

In my opinion, this book wasn’t as dark as the previous book and in a way that was what made this book stand out the most. I loved how it didn’t have all the necessary drama that quite frankly didn’t need to be there. This author balanced everything out perfectly and gave us everything that we love, crave and lust over in books.

Hands down to this author, for giving us such a riveting story that these two characters deserved. I can’t wait to see more from the author characters now.

Gimme Gimme More!!! (Was I singing Like Britney Spears when I wrote that, you bet you’re ass I did).

Peace out!

While I am obsessed with every book Elena Monroe has written, The Test takes the top spot!

This book was absolutely phenomenal! From the dark twisted corruption of the Clave, to winning battles between Justice and Vic, and the insanely intense chemistry they have there was so much to love about this book!

“I don’t want to take you down... I want you to destroy me before I destroy myself.” “I’ll destroy you if you destroy me.”

The push and pull between Vic and Justice was a thrill to watch unfold. Two strong willed characters with a fight and desire to win left to clashing of horns more often than not. And as much as they didn’t like to admit it, they were more alike than not. They soothed a piece of the others soul in ways they never expected, calming to constant war happening inside their minds and hearts.

“We all burn eventually; we just pick where the fire catches.”

This book was enthralling beginning to end! I was constantly at the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next, because with Vic and Justice you never know what you’re going to get. The characters really made this story. Each unique and adding a special edge to the story as readers watch it unfold.

This story was addicting and I never wanted it to end!

Now for Khaos and Bowen!

The Test is the second book in The 4Horsemen series It is about Vic and Justice, who are both very strong and independent. Both characters are constantly battling within themselves and through their relationship, they learn to find themselves.

I really liked Justice. She is a ball of fiery energy, all sass, and independence. She goes head to head with WAR himself and doesn't allow him to control her. I loved the banter between the two of them and the attitude that Justice has when she speaks to Vic.

Vic is a bit of an asshole in the beginning but it's understandable. His character is very different from how I thought he would be. I was very surprised but glad that he finds himself because "Vic the Dick" is not nice.

Also, I appreciated how the story unfolds and how complex Justice and Victory's story really is. The ending of the book was so sweet. I really enjoy reading about their lives after everything that they go through. I think Vic and Justice deserve so much happiness and love, after everything that they have been through. However, I do wish that we got to know more about the other men and see them together.

Wow! Loved this! Vic and Justice's story continues the Four Horsemen series with confidence, swagger and so much bravado! It is a tale dipped in blood, in the consequences of a dirty past and the tantalising hope for a lighter, cleaner future. Vic is such an amazingly well drawn character and Justice a wonderful, crazy, brave, strong individual. Both have hearts, but find investing in them a difficult, painful process. They are both dynamic and dynamite together.
With insights into the other Horsemen, The Test is a mile a minute read with enough twists and turns for a Grand Prix circuit. Highly recommended and leaving me a happy reader just impatient for more! 💖💖💖💖💖

Justice & Vic story is my favourite sorry Grimm & Abbey. I love Justice even more after reading this and how she took down the mightly Vic to his knees. My heart broke when Vic for the first time showed rawr emotions especially with his link to her parents death which was revealed to them at Grimm's home.

"Turning around, I stopped in front of my current secretary. “And you’re gonna be the pink-haired warrior who takes me down?” I challenged her scowl to turn into action"

The Test, book two in The Four Horsemen series, brings us back to The Clave, the screwed up cult of the elite, and back into the lives of our Horsemen. In this book we follow clean cut, head dickface in charge, Vic Rockefeller as he meets his match in Justice, the pink haired, converse wearing receptionist at Clave International Holdings.

I was intrigued by Vic in The Initiation, and couldn’t wait to read his story. He is legit my favorite kind of book bad boy—total bad ass, hot headed alpha asshole with a secret soft spot for his girl. Justice, while his complete opposite, was literally so perfect for him. She’s feisty and kick ass, and wasn’t afraid to put Vic in his place. Both are strong willed and forces to be reckoned with, and constantly butt heads because of it. I loved that about them, plus the competitiveness between them. It also doesn’t hurt that the chemistry between these two is off the charts 🥵🥵

The Test is fast paced, filled with tons of steam and I seriously could not put it down. Highly recommend!

I received this arc in exchange for honest feedback.

"Justice rarely happens on its own. It comes from a place of starvation, threat violence, guilt and dishonour".

Elena, I'm buzzing off my tits. The 4Horsemen series is... depravity hot 🔥
Once you've had a taste of corruption, you cannot go back to sweet and safe. And, Victory 'Vic' Rockefeller oozes testosterone and narcissism.

If anyone else has read this... Are you craving a warhammer? 🍭

I got to read this beauty early and this is an honest review. I loved this book. This author has a writing style that is bound to capture your heart with every read. This book is no different. She gets down and dirty but it’s still fun and hot. The rollercoaster ride of emotions is endless and continues long after you finish reading. I can’t get enough. This book was gripping, powerful and hair-raising good!! Alpha male meets his match!! This book is beyond ineffable!!

Like the fine line that lives between war and peace, it is the same that lives between love and hate. Victory and Justice crackle with energy when they are near one another and their chemistry is nuclear when they come together.

We pick up The Test with Victory; conquest of everything around him, winning at everything whether it is a game, his career, killing, ruling over people, etc... Victory wasn't named Victory to lose. That is until Justice enters his life, a worthy opponent and one that will change the way he strategizes his warplay within the Clave forever.

Justice is also used to winning. She is just wrapped up in a different package. She doesn't conform to society or rules, she makes her own and that is how she wins until she meets Vic. She bends, twists, and controls every outcome in her life to win until Vic gives her a war she isn't sure she will survive.

Vic doesn't realize how much he craves someone like Justice, someone to push him outside of his ridgid life, outside of his controlled rules, outside of the life he hates, (this is something he won't admit to anyone-hardly even himself because it is the only life he's known). Justice pushes Vic to become a better version of himself and on the flip side Vic pushes Justice to finally be the woman she hasn't been since her parents died. She controls her emotions to the point that she hasn't allowed anyone into her life, afraid that she will lose people close to her, it doesn't make her cold, just more closed off.

These two push each other into uncomfortable emotions, but ones they have both been avoiding forever and finally willing to embrace, but only if they do it side by side. But the scary part is looking at yourself in a new light when that person who finally gave you the mirror isn't there helping you hold it up.

Both Justice and Vic love facing off in their battles (because hating your enemy is hot and they completely sizzle off the pages), but neither are prepared for the war that will leave their hearts bloody and broken.

With all the questions I was left with in The Initiation many were answered in The Test, but I'm starting to get the feel that each book will answer a little more, which is the tease of Elena Monroe's writing. Since this series is my first adventure with her I'm enjoying the ride especially now that I'm invested in the characters and the entire storyline. These stories are intertwined in ways that are hard to explain without giving too much away, so forgive any vagueness I may have in my review, but overall my suggestion is to begin from The Initiation and enjoy the ride like I am.

This is Book 2 from Elena Monroe in her latest series about the 4Horseman. The Test focuses on the characters Vic and Justice. We initially met both of these characters in the first book The Initiation that tells the story of Grimm and Abigail. I was so excited to return back to this world and really get into the details of the next Horseman, Vic. While I did not relate with Vic and Justice nearly as much as I did with Grimm and Abigail, it was a wonderful story with plenty of great information.

Vic is the Rockefeller family heir and he was raised and trained to be the thinker of war strategies and manage tactics. To really understand Vic you have to understand how he grew up. The weight of family expectations that are placed on him to be the absolute best and knowing that nothing compares to the glory of winning. He treats everyone and everything in his life as a conquest and when he realizes that Abigail’s friend, Justice, is exactly that – something to be conquered – he can feel the pull towards her. Watching Vic and Justice verbally spar with one another was tantalizing and wildly hot. They both have a competitive streak that really stems from their inability to let people get close to them.

On the other hand, Justice was a fascinating character. We only really got glimpses of her in the first book and she was intriguing with her social justice calls and disregard for social norms. I truly love her as a person and a friend, even if I don’t relate with her character. Her background and the fact that she found a way to shield herself from emotional attachment, keeping people at bay, is where I was able to relate with her and appreciate the struggles she overcame in her life.

When these two start to get too close though and some of the founding families’ dark secrets start to rear their ugly heads, these two either have to walk away from the first person in their lives to really make them feel something, or learn how to fight for what they want together. That’s really where I got hooked into this one – the emotional ties and distress that drew them together along with their dark pasts that continue to be revealed throughout the story, really made this an amazing story with a ton of foundation.

Plus, I got to see my main man Grimm quite a bit in this one, as well as the other two Horseman, Khaos and Bowen. The brotherly dynamic between these four is engaging to watch, especially as the series continues to develop and their animosities towards one another seem to be finding a balance. There is still so much to explore in the next two novels and I’m ready and waiting for them!

The Test by Elena Monroe is the second book in the 4 Horsemen Series.

The series should be read in order. The relationships between the 4 members of the cult were discussed in detail in Grimm’s book as were crucial members of this story like Abigail, Grimm, the parents, etc. I believe it is beneficial to read book 1: The Initiation prior to reading this one. You will get the most out of the story if you do.

The Test is Victory and Justice’s story. Vic is the current golden boy of the Clave. The one out of the 4 who follows orders and does everything the Clave expects of him. Vic is a dick. In fact, that is his nickname in this book. The 3 Horsemen jokingly and truthfully call him Vic the Dick. Vic is hated my mostly everyone including himself. No one hates Vic more than he does.

I won’t lie, I love an evil hero. I was highly anticipating Vic’s story. For one, he is insanely attractive in that cover! Vic loves winning at all costs. He’s extremely ruthless and a grade A jerk but man, am I attracted to him!

Justice, is a sassy, take no nonsense badass who doesn’t allow Vic to walk all over her or talk down to her just because he’s her boss. Justice works the front desk at Clave Holdings. She is very street smart and knows the company is a front for the truth about Clave. Justice was raised by activists and is one herself. She participates in protests and speaks her mind holding nothing back in order to get justice.

The two couldn’t be more different. They live their lives on extreme ends of the scale. Justice is Abigail’s best friend. Abigail, being pregnant has to remain hidden by Grimm’s orders because he wants to keep his wife safe. Justice does not know Abigail is even pregnant, so the beginning of the book starts off with her looking for Abi. She finds a clue and somehow knows its Vic’s signature calling card. Grimm tells Vic he needs him to keep Justice out of his business. That makes Vic assign her as his new reception. She is not happy about it all and doesn’t hide that fact.

This begins this epic story of ups and downs that is Victory and Justice. These two were explosive. Their chemistry was off the charts. They really battled it out at every turn. This book had so much back and forth between the hero and heroine at times I was getting whiplash.

The character growth that Vic went through was beautiful. At times I was angry at Justice for making things so hard. Just when you think all is resolved in this story, more twists and turns come from all angles. It was suspenseful until the very end. I was turning the pages with so much anticipation I was ignoring my everyday life. It got to the point where I had no idea how they would be able to make things work between them.

This book both broke my heart and put it back together. I love the 4 Horsemen series and am glad I found Elena Monroe.

"Our lips still touching, she pulled away for only long enough to whisper between us, “I’m sorry.” And just like I knew it would, she buried my mask with another layer of dirt. Eventually, she would put the darkest parts of me six feet deep."

Helena has yet done it again, a beautiful and powerful story about two broken people who find each other, peace and war, a perfect match ready to set everything on fire.

Once I started I just couldn't put it down, I think I always say it but this is one of my fav book of the author from the series.
Justice, she's my spirit animal..the war this girl has in it it's amazingly beautiful, she has this maternal caring for everyone she loves and that's how she gets involved in meeting Vic and eventually falling for him.
Vic is the alfa, the man in charge and the one who makes all the choices, since the beginning he was given that task and that's what he was born for..but in this book, he starts battling with who he is and what he wants people to see..his mask or the real him..thanks to Justice he starts realizing who he really is and what he wants to do, who he's going to stand for.

Also, as always getting to know more of the other characters gives the story a huge perspective of what to expect for the next books in the series, something only Elena whit her amazing writing could accomplish.

Hands down for one of the best books I've read, I cannot wait for what's coming up next ♥︎
