Some Like It Hot

Rate this book
What do a grumpy goalie, a British billionaire, and a cinnamon roll firefighter all have in common? They all want me.

I’ve always been the feisty side-kick who’s up for anything. So after I’m trapped in an elevator with the gorgeous grump Blake Wilder, Mr. Hockey himself, I’m willing to listen to his scheme.

Turns out, the grouchy goalie needs a fake fiancée to earn his inheritance. I’m not real girlfriend material (my ex was clear about that), but I agree to help him out with the temporary farce.

But only if I can keep seeing the sexy fireman, Aidan, who rescued us from the elevator.

Oh, and my billionaire ex-boss, Simon—the one I shared a steamy kiss with just before I quit.

Talk about hot.

But the temperature only rises from there. Because the firefighter and the billionaire are also into each other.

Each of these guys make me feel desired and adored, and when it’s all four of us together we’re absolutely on fire.

Good thing this is only until the inheritance is finalized and my billionaire goes back to London. This could never last for long without one of us getting burned.

I'm going to convince you to read Some Like It Hot with 6 terms and a quote:
- Hockey Goalie 🏒
- Billionaire 👔
- Firefighter 👨🏻‍🚒
- Sassy curvy 💅🏻
- Found family
- MMFM 👬👫

"Is it fast? Maybe. But how long should it take to fall in love with amazing people, anyway?"

I loved every aspect of this book, from:
- Each and every one of the 4 MCs, that I genuinely cannot pick a favourite because they're all amazing
- The dynamics between these 4 and how it really feels natural for them to be together
- The pace with which the book progresses, there's no dull moment, there are precious experiences with all
- The genuine love you witness between them all
- The dirty talking and sexy as hell get-togethers
- The internal dialogue showing such modern and progressive thoughts without being forceful or too much
- The smooth portrayal of ADHD and the acceptance.

And if you're not convinced yet? Here are your sprinkles: 🧁
- Fake dating
- Grumpy/Sunshine
- Cinnamon roll boyfriend
- "My wife"
- and one last thing... British!

I have never been this gooey while writing a review for an ARC, but this one deserves it.
So Thank you Emma Foxx and The Author Agency for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

If you’ve read any of the Chicago Racketeers books, you know Emma Foxx never misses with the spice, the swoon, and the absolutely flawless execution of a MMFM relationship, and Some Like It Hot was no exception!

Elise is a beautiful, strong, hot mess (ADHD girls get it!) of a woman, and she’s not looking for love. So when her ex-boss, a sexy firefighter, and a grumpy goalie come in to her life all for different reasons, she’s really just rolling with it as it comes.

These 4 met in such a natural, fun way. There was no awkward tension, and they were all very clear on what and who they wanted from the very beginning.

I LOVED seeing Simon and Aiden’s relationship progress, and their declaration of love to one another? Just absolutely perfect 🥹 seriously love at first sight. I knew they would be my favourite from the very beginning.

This book has EVERYTHING! From heavy praise, to off-the-charts-spice, a fake engagement/marriage that isn’t actually all that fake, to swoony conversations that leave no room for miscommunication. And guess what? NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP ! 😭🩷

I don’t know if it’s possible to love these 4 more than I loved the Icing It couple, but here we are, friends ! 😮‍💨

This was a super easy, fun, lighthearted read that I devoured in a day, and if you’re looking for some spicy spice? It packs a big punch! 🔥

I just adore Emma Foxx and these stories! I experienced the first *coupling* in this series just three weeks ago and then jumped right into reading Icing It, because that’s how I roll with series LOL and #KU rocks, to finish off just last night with this ridiculously fun story! I have been in romantic comedy heaven for quite some time! It’s so refreshing to read Emma Foxx because she focuses on the fun aspect of a why choose relationship and not any of the pitfalls. She represents well, both the good and bad, but the focus is always about the fun and feel-good aspect. I’m enamored by her voice and writing style!

There is nothing not to like about Elise! She is sassy and empowered and just owns herself from top to bottom and inside and out. She’s one of my favorite kind of female character because at my age, I’ve learned quite a few lessons the hard way and GAH do I wish I owned myself more when I was young! Elise is my hero! Plus, she is sassy (my fave), loves herself and is just plain fun!! Her three men are such a perfect mix that if they entered my world, I might have to give them a try! LOL Blake with his grouch persona; Simon with his sunshiny billionaire ways and Aiden the firefighter who is welcome to put out my fire any day of the week! ;) Put all of that together in a story and a good time will be had by all, at least when Emma Foxx is in charge of the story they will!

However, I haven’t even told you my favorite of favorite aspects about this story! So if you already thought about one-clicking, let me share mooooooooore fiery goodness (pun intended lololol)! Aiden & Simon don’t just want to be part of a polyamorous relationship with Elise (and of course Blake), but they want to be with each other as well! *fans self* Muy caliente!

And lastly … I really love how Emma wrote these characters all coming together. It was just easy and very go with the flow and it made the story that much more of a happy story from the very beginning. I hope this author duo writes for a long time to come because I see their work as an escape and the fact that all the stories I’ve devoured have been ridiculously fun really nails it for me!

This book is a quick, light, and amazing spicy read! It’s set in the world of the other Racketeers books, but if you did not read them you won’t be absolutely lost (however I highly recommend them because they are also incredible. There was actually nothing I didn’t like about this book.

✅ no third act breakup
✅ three guys/why choose
✅ they spoil and worship her

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
HEA: HEA
POV: multi 1st person
spice: several open-door spicy scenes
TWs: ADHD, anxiety, fire (nonfatal), manipulation, parental abandonment
Kinky Content: anal play, finger licking good, fingering, manhandling, MF, MM, MMFM, oral, praise, public acts, mild role play, spanking, stripping
standalone: interconnected standalones in the Chicago Racketeers world
final thoughts: this was a very cute book and can be read as a standalone (as I did) but I felt like there were a lot of established relationships that were introduced in previous books. I loved the dynamics between the main characters, the confidence of the FMC, and way the MMCs worship the FMC.
Lots of time jumps with no explanation which was confusing, and I wanted more of their daily life as a family because I loved them so much!

Wow. This was one spicy meatball. A hockey goalie, a firefighter, and a billionaire? Where do I sign up?

This book was kinda light on plot, but what plot was there was good. I appreciated the fact that Blake was straight and formed a friendship bond with Aiden and Simon. I appreciated the way Aiden and Simon were able to form a bond of their own. I loved the ADHD rep and how accepting all of them were of it/Elise. They didn't try to change her, they loved her and embraced her hot mess-ness. The meet cute with Aiden was adorable. The meet cute between Elise and Simon and Aiden was the best.

I wish we got a little more background between Elise and Blake. We got a bit about Elise and Simon as the book went on, but we didn't get much about Blake and I wish there was more of their history.

I'm not a huge fan of insta-love so this whole thing evolved really quickly for me. It also seemed like it tried to shove a lot of tropes into a small amount of time.

It was fun, it was spicy, and I really would like to go back and read the first series and hope that Elise, Blake, Aiden, and Simon get more books.

⭐️4.5. Okay, I have loooooved everything that Emma Foxx has written, and I will continue to read everything they write. There are so many why choose novels out there, but they just know exactly what their doing! A firefight (hot), a hockey player (hotttt), and a millionaire (HOTTT). All falling in love with a chaotic pinup model/baker/seamstress who has a penchant for losing her phone, and accidentally leaving a tea towel on a stove top. I absolutely loved all of their love stories. I especially love when the boyfriends are also boyfriends. This was wonderful, and I only wish it was longer.

This was my first read from Emma and it most definitely will NOT be my last. I cannot find ALL of the words to describe how much I enjoyed diving head first into this gem! Why choose, sport (especially Hockey) are my all time number one favorite reads.

I do not want to give too much away but please for the LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY get your hands on this book as soon as you can. I could not put it down. I read it within the first 12 hours of getting my hands on it. I utterly enjoy an another that can make “classy” spicy content that seems realistic, something that can happen to anyone. I LOVE that. Emma did not disappoint in EVERY spicy scene! I was most definitely swooning for and cheering on every main character!

This will definitely be a re-read for me time and again ❤️🏒

"𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒔𝒆𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒛𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒊𝒔."

GOSH. This Author duo definitely knows how to write a spicy fun why choose book! This book was smokin HOT!!

This book is about the third poly couple in the Chicago Racketeers series. And they were just as loveable as the other couples! All of these book have been so fun and lighthearted, which I think is so rare when it comes to why choose books! We needed this duo to come in and give us something Iike this series.

I have loved this series since the very beginning with Dani and her guys and then Luna and her guys! And now we get to fall in love with Elise and her guys!

“𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒂 𝒈𝒊𝒓𝒍 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒃𝒐𝒚𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒔𝒐 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒇𝒖𝒏?”

So much happen in this book! It kept me entertained, for sure. We follow Elise through her journey of what she thought was just fake dating the arrogant hockey star to help him with his inheritance, while she's also having a fling with her ex-boss and the adorable firefighters who keeps showing up to rescue her. I loved this journey for her so much! She deserved to have all three of these men falling all over her! Even though she thought she was only worth the good time they were having all together. I loved watching her realize just how much these men were starting to care for her.

"𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒂𝒃𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝒖𝒑 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒃𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕."

One of my favorite parts of this book is just how accepting these men were of each other. There was such low levels of jealousy. Each of them slowly came together as such a fun unit accepting each other as a permanent part of Elise's life!

Not only do we get to see the relationship that Elise has with her men. But we also get to watch Aidan and Simon's relationship unfold. And it was absolutely ADORABLE. I wish we could have seen just alittle bit more of their relationship together! But all in all. I loved this book!

I seriously can't wait for the next book! 2 firefighters in one relationship. SIGN ME UP! I already know Brooke's book is going to be so much fun!

I’m a big lover of Why Choose and was so excited to receive this as an ARC.

In respect of the spice, this is great. It’s descriptive, fun and cheeky with scenes between all four characters and individually too.

However, it felt like there wasn’t enough back story for each of the characters. We briefly read about Elise’s parents and her unsupportive dad, met Blake’s grandmother but barely heard anything about Aiden or Simon’s family or drive. The only drive was to be with Elise / each other. That’s a great focal point, but beyond the cabin, what else was the drive for the characters? I wanted more for them all.

Book 107 of 2024

I am oh so glad to be back in the world of the Chicago Racketeers! I have loved all the content, whether it be books, short stories or bonus epilogues, that @EmmaFoxx has put out in this universe. There is something about the writing in this series that just pulls me in from the beginning. It has that binge-worthy quality, and this story is no different. From the minute it started, I didn't want to put it toward. I was craving more and more of the story because we know we've got our main group of four -- Elise, Blake, Simon and Aiden. BUT we don't know how all the pieces of the puzzle come together and how it transpires.

What I found the most interesting in this book is that this is the third poly-relationship we have in the Chicago Racketeers series -- we have Dani with Nathan, Michael and Crew; then we got Luna with Owen, Cameron and Alexsei. Now these two dynamics are very different, and I was curious how this new relationship with Elise, Blake, Aiden and Simon would all play out.... and color me surprised when it was completely different and not at all what I expected.

One of my favorite things from Dani's four books was Seriously Pucked (Book 3) because of the strong character development. There was conflict between our foursome in a very real way as they tried to navigate the complexities of their relationship. There was some of that here in the most unexpected ways. @EmmaFoxx dove into some different topics here in terms of these four coming together and figuring out how the relationships were going to work. I think that my only criticism is that there were some small timeline gaps and I just wanted more details -- I liked so much how this storyline played out, and I just wanted more, more, more. I think a few more moments, especially perspectives from Aiden and Simon, would have only added to the development of these storylines and characters.

At the end of the day I am giddy because I love these characters so much and watching their lives play out. I love that we got glimpses of Luna, Dani and their families. Again, my only request is that I want more -- MORE! I feel the same way I did after I finished Icing It! Now that we have all the build-up, I want to know how it all plays out -- I want more from the future from both of the relationships. I want to see Luna, Owen, Cameron and Alexsei and I want to see Elise, Blake, Aiden and Simon. I want to see them all moving forward and how that plays out. I am going to keep begging for this because I cannot let them go.

Reading that epilogue and knowing that Brooke (Blake's sister) is getting her own book and that we get some of the firefighter friends of Aiden's, I am even more excited. But I need more people! These stories can't stop. Maybe I need a book just that is from tons of different POV's from all our favorites because I am going to gobble up everything from @EmmaFoxx.

Rating -- e/book
Format -- four stars

NOTE: Thank you to @EmmaFoxx for this ARC of Some Like It Hot. I have loved the other five books that @EmmaFoxx has written in the Chicago Racketeers world, and it was so much fun to get this early copy so I can continue to rave about this series. I can't wait for more to gobble up!

Format: 📱 eBook 📱 (ARC)

This is only my second book by Foxx, but I'm learning very quickly that you're never left disappointed with one of her books. There's the right combination of fun, flirty and adventure, a sprinkle of drama, so much banter, off-the-charts spice, and some of the best revelations of feelings I've read. Throw in the fact that this book has fake dating, marriage of convenience, a British billionaire (Simon), a firefighter (Aidan) and a hockey goalie (Blake), and some MM action? All the boxes were firmly ticked.

Don't even get me started on the absolute amazing portrayal of ADHD in Elise. Not often do I say I see myself in a character, but how Elise lives? Yeah, that's me in a nutshell. I understood every single one of her ADHD "quirks" (I honestly don't know how to phrase that), and I loved how the guys all reacted and adapted to it, even going to help her in a way that wasn't an attempt to "fix" or "clean" things. And the pin-up stuff? Oh my god, never have I wanted illustrations to go with a book as much as I did for some of Elise's outfits because they sound just beautiful, and I am obsessed with the pin-up style.

I really loved how organically the relationship developed; with all the initial meetings and the past history between some characters written wonderfully. The development of each aspect of the relationships - with Elise and with the boys - was so great to read, and I loved that we got to see the developing MM relationship as part of the overall story.

The icing on the cake? No third act break-up! This really is a low-angst read, perfect to settle in for a cozy reading session. I absolutely devoured this book, and I'm so excited to see where this series goes (especially after that epilogue).

Thank you to the author and @theauthor.agency for the eARC opportunity. These are my honest thoughts that I have provided voluntarily.

Some Like It Hot

Emma Foxx just keeps bringing the best and steamiest why choose romance books and I am here for it! If you’ve read any of the previous Chicago Racketeer books and/or Icing It, then you’ll be somewhat familiar with the FMC, Elise. This is a standalone book so it’s ok if this is your introduction to this world. Just know you’re going to want to go back and read more. One is never enough. 😉

What’s Inside
🏒why choose/MMFM
🏒romcom
🏒hockey
🏒grumpy sunshine
🏒billionaire
🏒firefighter
🏒dirty talking cinnamon roll
🏒fake dating

Elise is a curvy, beautiful, fun loving, up for anything type of girl who never expected to get trapped in an elevator with Blake, a hot, grumpy hockey player. It gets steamy fast, but it wouldn’t be an Emma Foxx book without some laughs. Queue shapewear shenanigans and getting rescued by one sexy Fireman named Aiden who is instantly attracted to Elise. Things just get more fun from there. Turns out Blake temporarily needs a fake fiancée to get his inheritance and Elise agrees to help.

Two guys seem a bit complicated, but after bumping into her hot British ex-boss Simon, what’s the harm in one more? Not to mention Simon and Aiden have the insta hots for one other as well as for Elise. The four of them all together is volcanic molten lava. The spice starts early in the book and it does not disappoint throughout. She be SPICY! 🥵

I really loved how each relationship plays out individually as well as in the group dynamic as a whole. The author always presents very realistic obstacles and I enjoyed seeing how each of the MC’s grew emotionally as well as mentally. Nothing was easily won, there was work involved and watching how they found a new family in each other was beautiful. I also always love when an author can bring laughs and spice in the same scene and this book is packed with plenty of both. I laughed a lot reading this story and as always the author had me fully invested from page one. The HEA’s are well won and I hope I get to see these characters pop up again in future books.

Oh Wow Emma Foxx!!
Some Like It Hot is for sure 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ HOT.

We get 5 hot relationships from 1 amazing foursome. Blake and Elise a fake engagement, turns marriage that ens up not fake at all, Simon, and Elise an ex boss, employee dynamic, Aiden and Elise a damsel in distress, sexy fire fighter savior , Simon and Aiden with their love at first sight, and of course in true Why Choose fashion all of them together. Each relationship was amazing.

I loved how they really do take care of each other (in many ways 😜) and how they adore Elise the sassy, curvy, hot as hell pinup model/dress designer/baker with her ADHD hot mess and all of her organized chaos.

Blake is a gruff, grumpy on the outside but a soft squishy cinnamon roll on the inside for Elise and later for Simon and Aiden.

Simon is the sexy, sweet billionaire that only wants to give everything and everyone his all.

Aiden is the true blue collar, hard working, sexy as sin protector.

The individual one on one time with all the different dynamics was fun to read. I really enjoyed the “separate” times they had and of course the times they were all together. Even better NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP.

You also get cameos from the past characters we love so much from the previous Racketeer’s books including the adorable Wade. (I’m really hoping he will get lucky someday).

If you have read any of the other Emma Foxx books you will love this one. If this is your first one, go back and read the others. You will love them just as much.

This is first from these authors! I really enjoyed this!! It was lighthearted & so sweet with some serious spice. Elsie is our curvy, sassy FMC, that has ADHD that has caused problems in her family, relationships & work life. But she is working at a cafe part-time, while she works on pursuing her dream of designing & having a successful business making pin up dresses. She lives in a constant state of organized chaos that many don’t understand. Blake is a grumpy hockey player in his last season before retirement, with a dream of retiring and becoming a hermit at his family’s mountain estate. The only problem, his Grandma has a stipulation for him receiving the property, he needs to be in a serious relationship. Simon is a cinnamon roll billionaire, who owns the company that Elsie worked for a time before the cafe, in which he actually shared an unforgettable kiss with Elsie before she ghosted him. Aidan is a fireman who comes to Blake’s & Elsie’s rescue when they get stuck in an elevator on New Year’s Eve “talking.” 😉 They are all looking for a good time with a deadline, but what happens when that good time turns into more? I am so excited to read more from these authors!

I have some of Emma’s books on my TBR, but this is the first one I’ve had a chance to read. It exceeded expectations! I can be picky about why choose, but it was done so well in this book. Each of the MMCs, (Aidan, Simon, Blake) have their own distinct backgrounds and personalities, as well as a unique bond with each other and with the FMC (Elise). You don’t feel like any character is under represented at all which I think is so important. And you will fall in love with all of these guys. They are all so swoony in their own way. I love that Elise is so confident, knows her worth, and goes for what she wants. They all really fit perfectly together… in more ways than one 😜. The spice is on another level delicious. Perfect, no notes. The writing is good, and the plot is fun and engaging. I can’t wait to read every single one of Emma’s books now lol. Highly recommend!

I always love reading the characters the EF creates. The way Elisa presents with her ADHD tendencies shines light on issues many people deal with and I love that her men accept her for who and how she is. Even in the chaos these men are understanding and very supportive of her.
Grumpy Blake the hockey star, Aiden the cheeky firefighter and charming billionaire Simon all have undeniable chemistry with Elise and also with each other. Honestly I’m a sucker for a why choose and love the MM spice too. This is a low angst read, yet is so hot and sweet all at the same time.
The execution of each individual relationship, to the progression of the group relationship and add in the MM bond as well… *chef’s kiss*

Some Like it Hot is the latest book in the Chicago Racketeers series written by Emma Foxx.

*Why choose relationship
*A hockey player, a firefighter, and a billionaire
*Pinup girl contests

This book is a very cute and quick read about a hot mess of a FMC that has three very willing, and very hot men that want to help her through this challenge we call life.

A little over the top during a few scenes but overall it is a well written, and a very entertaining and spicy read! The author(s) build the relationship and storyline in a believable way and wrap up the story with a cute epilogue.

Okay this book was HOT! I was so excited to get another story in the Racketeers universe and I’m excited that it was Elise’s! I loved seeing the representation for her and finding people that love her for who she is and don’t try to change her or alter her behaviors, just offer help. I loved seeing everyone realize their feelings but I wish the book was just a tad longer! I feel like we missed a few things but it was a great read! Excited for the next book in this universe!

The dynamic was so fun with Elise. The spice be spicin', and I loved the relationships each person had with each other. It was so good and sweet!

I cannot stop smiling after finishing this one.
It was exactly what I needed. 3 perfect MMCs and a gorgeous hot mess FMC.
I’d forgotten this was a Why Choose so was absolutely thrilled then I realised.
I loved everything about it. Was it deep and insightful? Not at all, but it was lovely and heartfelt and sweet and spicy and really nicely written.
I loved the authors writing style, in particular the multiple POVs.
I read this one in a few hours and enjoyed every minute.

Emma Foxx delivered another amazing book following another Rackateers player without anything feeling repetitive! Plenty of sweet scenes and spice, both as a group and pairs!

Excited for Brooke's book but would also love to see Wade finally get the girl 👀👀

Just like the other Chicago Racketeers books that came before it, Some Like It Hot is the best mix of sweet and spicy. Elise, Blake, Aiden, and Simon are a perfect fit. No one does HEA like Emma Foxx!

I’ve loved all the Chicago Racketeers stories so far, but this was my favorite. I loved the mixed up tropes- a fireman, a hockey goalie, a billionaire AND a gorgeous and sweet ADHD mess. Elise is a treasure and deserves three amazing guys like these.

A very well done why choose book! It's a light a fluffy read, with very limited complications. Elise forms her harem with guys she knows from her past and whom she's just met. And some of those guys even find attraction with one another. It's got the perfect amount of lowkey drama and no third act breakup to stress anyone out. I wish the characters had better communication, but there was so much right going on in this book that I even got over that! One of my favorite things about this book is the fact that all of the prehistory stuff and connections between the characters has already been established and just highlighted for the reader. It saves so much space and time in the book so that what's happening right now can be focused on. I enjoyed that the author essentially got right to the point and made time for way more spice! It's a must read for a fluffy romance reader who also enjoys some smut with their love.
The sex scenes are decadent! Every scene is excellent, and that includes all MM 1:1 scenes, every MF 1:1 scenes, but especially the group scenes. The foursome parts were so damn hot, I almost couldn't read this book out in public. Almost being the key word; I obviously did. I will say that the spice doesn't include a very important piece ... ADEQUATE ANAL PREP! Going from one finger up the bum to an entire dick without any kind of consequences is the most fictitious part about this entire book. Especially because it's described as "pounding." Yeah, I just don't believe that it wouldn't have ripped the recipient in freaking half.

I am not complaining in the absolute least, but is there some polyamorous juice in the water at the Racketeers facility??! Good Lord, if there's not, it's a hell of a trend to catch onto.

The logistics of this poly relationship really seem just way too convenient. All of them are down with sharing, and even though Simon "gets there first," he's immediately totally fine with two other guys joining and wants to see how things go with one of the guys. I get that Elise goes for what she wants and that it absolutely should be up to the woman, it really just seems all too good to be true. And they all seem oddly free to just be hanging around. Elise runs a pin up shop, does competitions and works in the coffee shop, but seems to be free to just drop everything to hang out all day or go on dates spur of the moment. Does she actually ever get any work done? And Aiden is a firefighter, Simon runs a multimillion dollar business, and Blake is professional hockey player with an intense schedule. But they all seem willing to drop everything to be with each other and hang out as well. You'd think careers and the like would take precedence since there's a time limit (supposedly) on their relationship and they'll still need those careers after it's over. But maybe that's just me.

ADHD is really inconvenient and at times, very frustrating. But Elise talks about it like it's a terminal illness and the worst diagnosis in the world. If the people around you don't understand what you're going through or don't want to try and understand, get different people girl. But maybe don't assume that everyone you encounter is going to hold it against you or treat you differently because of it. But the way that Elise talks about it and how it affects her life, you would think she's got something contagious or extremely serious. What is nice about Elise's ADHD is how understanding and helpful all the guys are with everything. They don't try and fix it or her, but do make accommodations to help her and makes things easier for her.

I feel like Elise is being very selfish when she feels left out after hearing Aiden and Simon's declarations of love to one another. It was first of all, meant to be a private moment and she really shouldn't feel any type of way about it since it was just supposed to be between the two of them. And so what if they haven't said they love you too? YOU'RE the one who has expressly stated that it's all fake and there's a time limit on shit. You really can't have it both ways and it's weirdly self absorbed to be jealous of them expressing their feelings for one another. If you'd like that, Elise, then you should express your real feelings instead of gatekeeping them.
And I feel like NOT telling Simon & Aiden that she was getting married to Blake was a way at getting back at them for them not telling her they love her too. She uses the excuse that they were either working or out of town, but how can she really feel like they shouldn't be included in that or at least notified? They're going to find out on social media now, and that's a low blow to people who you supposedly care about and are in a relationship with. I feel like the two guys who weren't involved forgave Elise AND Blake way too easily! They voiced their concerns, but caved so quickly with very little effort on Blake & Elise's parts.

I really liked this book and look forward to even more stories from the Racketeers!

Another fabulously sweet and spicy why choose romcom from Emma Foxx! I loved this book even more than Icing It, which I didn’t think would be possible! With a grumpy goalie, a British billionaire, a smoking hot firefighter, and a sassy curvy girl hot mess of an FMC, it all adds up to poly perfection!

What I loved:

🥹 Blake’s relationship with his grandmother

💍 A fake engagement that isn’t so fake after all

😊 Realistic and believable relationship dynamics between all four characters

💕 Conversations that made me swoon and the dirty talk was 🥵

💁‍♀️ Authentic ADHD rep I could relate to

🚫 No third act breakup!

🍪🧁 Appearances from Dani, Luna and their guys

Some Like it Hot is a must read for why choose fans, and can be read as a standalone. I'll be reading it again because it is just that good!
