A sexy and emotional second chance romance...

David Wiesel lives for making music, partying, and women. He has a wicked sense of humor and a body made for sinning. He's the kind of guy every mama warns her daughter about.

Sylvia Price lives for her daughter, theater, and teaching. She's living the responsible life and left her wild ways in the past. She's the kind of woman every mama wants her son to marry. Not that she's looking for that.

One drunken night when they were teenagers left them irrevocably bound. Fifteen years later, an accident brings them back together and there is no denying the heat that scorched them when they were young is still there, sparking between them.

While David is more than willing to stoke those flames, Sylvia is afraid this time, the fire will burn her right to the ground.

2 ⭐⭐ - Meh!
===============
Drunk ONS and an unwanted pregnancy, the two were never a couple and the baby's responsibility was left to her alone.
Heroine takes care of her daughter alone and hero follows life as if nothing had happened. Sex, drugs, money, fame and rock and roll for him and sleepless nights taking care of a crybaby and a lot of work and lack of money for her.
I can't imagine them both as a couple. Too much bad blood between them. It didn't work for me.
I didn't like them and couldn't sympathize.

The tit in my hand started moving. I cracked an eye to get a look at its owner. She was staring at me, eyes heavy-lidded, looking hungry. Her friend on my other side was still fast asleep, but this one was cute enough.

Let me be perfectly fucking clear: if she’d told me about the pregnancy earlier on, I’d have been all over her to end it. I didn’t know her. No way I wanted to be tied to a stranger for life. And no way I wanted to be tied down by a kid.

We’d never been a couple. Nothing close. We were co-parents in a completely non-traditional way. I was gone seventy percent of the year, but I was there for Em as much as I could be.

The scent of weed mixed with cheap women’s perfume alerted me to David’s presence.

I’d fucked up a lot in the early years of Em’s life—not being there as often as I should’ve, missing payments when I got caught up on life on the road. I’d fucked up later too, in other even more staggering ways.

Smelling like I’d just climbed out of a brothel while spending time with my kid and her mom was pretty much a nightmare.

“There are towels under the counter. We only have super girly soap, but I imagine you’re used to smelling like women.”

Goddamn, what I wouldn’t give for Em to be fine and me to be back with my boys in fuckin’ Finland.

This was exactly why I shouldn’t be around him. He thought very little of me, but I had a million reasons to hate him. And I did.

Sometimes, when I was up in the middle of the night, nursing Emma for the third or fourth time, I’d see him stumbling home, loud and happy. It was on one of those nights I’d decided to hate him too.

He stood, took two steps, then came back, sitting down. “I mean, I have a life. I can’t be this pious, do-gooder every second of the day. I know it comes naturally for you, but it’s wearing on me.”

I’d never even taken the time to wonder why, or how I’d gotten to almost thirty-four years old without having major, real feelings for a woman.

I’d grown into my nose somewhat, but I was never going to be a beauty. I had character, and most days that was enough for me.

I had to continually remind myself we were playing house right now, but none of this was for keeps—not for me anyway.

“Where the hell have you been all my life?” I asked stupidly. She arched a brow. “Just here, raising your kid.”

Looks like i am one of the few that DNF. And if I had to be honest, I kept looking at the book location and was like, "I have only read that much? Ugh, how much further?" I am finally stopping at 40%.

I hate I didn't finish b/c I really like David. Ms. Wolf really messed up in her delivery. A really good story was hidden behind way Way WAY to much inner monologue. Most of the back story was told by the characters thinking it. I skimmed way to much; trying to get to the characters interacting.. When I did, the story was great. I love all the band members and the story would have been AMAZING had it been written with David and Syl interacting more vs thinking aka inner monologue.

Dual POV.
When interacting - low bantering.
If you can get passed the inner monologue, read this... But at 40% nothing much has happened other than us readers understanding why David and Sly have the kind of relationship they have or lack thereof.

Now that I’ve awkwardly proposed to Julia Wolf after reading the previous book in this series I feel like I should offer to have her babies and really make this weird. Just kidding. Sort of. Once you read Watch Me Unravel you’ll fully understand why I am so obsessed with her writing. Where the last book was filled with hilarity David and Sylvia’s story is full of intense love and growth that kept me constantly happy sighing, tearing up and frankly falling completely in love with David.
It’s not often you see a character grow the way David does in this. When a terrifying accident causes him to pause his life of constant movement it’s like he’s finally seeing the reality of the lives of the people he’s loved from a distance for so long. Where David was a rolling stone, Sylvia was an anchor. A pillar of strength with a heart so full of love you can’t help but feel how warm she is. These two seem like two polar opposites held together only by the daughter they love so much, but that’s so far from the truth. They have one of the biggest most beautiful loves I have ever read.

When I picked up Watch Me Unravel, I couldn't put it down. David is a character that's a bit rough around the edges (at least that's what I knew after Times Like These), but there's so much more to him. David is the wild one, sleeps with different women all the time and isn't always seen as the nice guy. His life gets turned upside down though when he gets a call his daughter was in a car accident.

David and Sylvia slept together once 15 years ago when they were both teenagers. A broken condom changed their lives that night, but they both love Emma. Through the years David thinks he's been a good father. He sends her money, visits her and his her visit him. There isn't anything he wouldn't do for his daughter. David and Sylvia only communicate when it comes to their daughter.

So when Emma gets in an accident, their worlds get a little bit closer. David and Sylvia have to put their differences aside for their little girl, even though there are still a lot of unresolved feelings. When Emma and Sylvia have to move in to David's condo so Emma can heal, things get interesting, haha.

Sylvia has always felt like a single mom and has to get used to giving David some control. Over the years she's created a great support system (the friends we meet in this book are so much fun) and thinks she's going pretty well. I loved Sylvia. She's such a strong woman. After a not so amazing childhood and getting pregnant so young, her life could've been a lot worse. Sylvia does amazing work and I love the theater program she does. She gives kids an amazing opportunity!

David didn't have a great childhood. His Dad was an addict and his mother had to work a lot to keep them going. David has never thought just being there at times wasn't enough for Emma and Sylvia. Having them around him in his condo, really opens his eyes. David starts feeling things he never realize he could feel. Being in one place for long has always spooked him, but he's now thinking he should stick around.

The romance between David and Sylvia is very steamy and the added aspects of their past makes things interesting. They bicker a lot, argue, but the sparks fly when they're around each other. I love seeing this book as a journey. Their daughter connects them, but so many years later they're finally dealing with these feelings together.

David is far from perfect, but seeing him vunerable and realize a lot about himself, definitely made me love him! I thought Nick was going to be my favorite, but he's taken the number one spot for now. David really starts looking at himself and what he missed. He learns to take risks and open himself up. All I wanted was for him to get his happily ever after!

Watch Me Unravel is filled with family, friends, love, romance and many steamy moments. The characters are amazing and we get another glimpse at all of the other band members. I am so excited for the books to come! Julia Wolf knows how to write a story you connect to. I was really sad when it ended!

If you love a book with amazing characters, a great love story, humor and lots of steamy moments, definitely pick this one up!

4.5 out of 5

I was hopeful after reading the first book in this ‘rock star’ series that I had found another author to look forward too and low and behold, I have. I think I like this second book even more than the first one. This time up its David Weisel story. We met him in the first book and he is the band’s well, playboy, even though this is a stupid sounding term. He likes the ladies, a lot of them and in pairs. He doesn’t come across as a very caring kind of guy and he’s not. He has a teenage daughter from a one night stand years ago that he’s a token dad to. For most of the time he doesn’t pay her much attention but when he does, while he does love her, he’s very uninvolved in her day to day life and while she’s gotten past it and accepts him as he is, it’s not so easy for her mother, Sylvia Price. She holds a lot of hostility towards David as she’s the one who has had to pick up the pieces when he continually disappoints Emma, their daughter. They manage to work together rather successfully but most of the reason for that is she avoids him as much as she can.

This changes though when Emma suffers an injury which brings David rushing back to be with his daughter. The situation finds Syl, Emma and David all staying at David’s rather fancy digs until Emma can get around. It just happens to be at the same time as all the members of Blue is the Color, the name of the band, plans on taking a year-long break. Syl is then than thrilled to spend as much time with David but she sucks back her feelings and manages to try and hide her anger, trying being the key word. There are times her resentment comes roaring out.

It would be so easy to totally dislike David. He’s a real jerk though he doesn’t realize it. But as he spends time really getting to know Emma and what it takes to really be a father, he slowly realizes what a selfish jerk he has been for years and how he has let both his daughter and her mother down and sets about trying to make up for the years of neglect and selfishness. Syl is very skeptical at first but deep down she has always had feeling for David and has totally lived the saying love is close to hate. And while David has moved on to become quite the man whore, he’s never forgot Syl.

I loved this book. It would have been so easy to keep the hate of for David. He really is a jerk at the beginning but once he gets “woke” to how he has treated both Emma and Syl, he really does very hard to change. And he’s so hard on himself that it’s hard for Syl to keep up the anger and it’s hard for the reader to keep it up too. There really is a good man hidden inside just waiting to be released. And he does have ‘issues’ that help us in forgiving him. He still isn’t perfect but he is 1,000 times better.

And I have quite the soft spot for Syl too. I really like her though I think she’s wrong in one area. While she accepts child support from David, who is more than willing to give it, she keeps it at a minimum and refuses to take more even though he’s rich. She wants to raise Emma as much as she can on her own with her own money. I thought she should have accepted more from him, if only for Emma but I did get her independent streak to a certain extent.

These two together are fun. Because he’s had very little interaction with Syl, he just assumes she’s this soft, shy kind of woman but its fun watching him discover how wrong he’s been about her.
And as with the other rock star books that have really stood out for me, I love the relationship between all the band members. They are close and they are family. Even though they plan on taking a year off of touring, they are still all best of friends and remain very close.

The only thing that keeps this from being a full out 5 stars for me is the stubbornness that Syl shows, but I’m more than happy to give this one a well-deserved 4.5 stars and most happily give it a hearty thumbs up.

Gah!!! David and Sylvia absolutely blew me away. They are without a doubt my favourite couple so far.
David is ridiculously sexy and that mouth of hisoh boy! Everyone thinks that Syl is a meek little mouse, but that woman sure knows how to take what she wants…and when she does, it’s so HOT! These two together have so much chemistry and I was rooting for them right from the beginning.

This was wonderful second chance romance that I cannot gush enough about. It was not a typical second chance honestly. The couple was never together. They had a one-night stand and the result of that was a child. Sylvia and David are young when this happens. She is 16 and he is 18. David went on to become a famous rockstar while Sylvia stayed in their home town and raised their daughter. David would breeze into town and be the fun dad when time allowed. He was also very much the phone call dad. But a car accident sends David home to be there to help with his daughter’s recovery. These two are really strangers. They never had any kind of relationship previous to being parents. It was such a gentle and natural evolution to their relationship. Both went in to things cautiously and fought their attraction like it was their job. I can not recommend this tittle enough. It is not a typical rockstar or second chance romance.

I have such mixed emotions about Watch Me Unravel by Julia Wolf, on one hand I really loved this book and on the other hand I have so many questions that were never answered. I love when a character is redeemed especially when the character realizes they need to make changes on their own because what they thought they were turns out was just a façade. I appreciated that the hero realized he’d messed up a lot. I appreciated the heroine didn’t mince words. I appreciated their daughter loved her dad despite his faults and because her mom didn’t poison her against him. I enjoyed watching them fall in love, but again I have so, so many questions.

David has always been the bad boy rocker of Blue is the Color, despite becoming a dad at 18. He’s lived the rock and roll lifestyle, sending support payments to the mother of his child, and spending time with her when he breezed into town. David feels he’s a good father until Emma is injured and he begins to understand that he has no clue what it takes to raise a child much less the teenager she is now or how difficult life had been for Sylvia, his daughter’s mother.

Despite his manwh*re, less than stellar parenting ways I found myself really liking David. That’s not to say he was someone I considered dependable or particularly trustworthy, but he draws you in and he’s fun. I liked Sylvia even though I feel she should have confronted David YEARS ago about his less than stellar parenting, demanded better of him, and not get away with leaving all the heavy work to her. I didn’t understand that given she’s kind of a ball buster. And I really couldn’t understand why his mother who wasn’t the best parent to David but is now an awesome grandmother to his daughter and a great friend to Sylvia didn’t hold his feet to the fire. See, questions everywhere!

I’m actually happy David and Sylvia figured things out, I hated that he had no idea she had feelings for him and that he’d actually really messed up with her at her engagement party to another man. I applaud that he got sober and was trying to be a better man, but I also wonder why he didn’t try harder to be friendlier towards Sylvia. He admired her, he knew she was a fantastic mother, he was intrigued by her but neither one opened the lines of communication with one another for 15 years?

Overall, I liked this book but I didn’t love it. I felt like there were so many parts of it that were just missing and I needed those parts for their story to be whole.

Watch Me Unravel
O.M.Freaking.G. This book grabbed me from the second I downloaded it. It has a beautiful, sexy cover and a wonderful beginning that sucked me right in. The chemistry between the David and his girl is HOT and swoon-worthy. Julia Wolf somehow always manages to write characters who are relatable and interesting.

David, the lead guitarist for a popular band "Blue is the Color" is getting along fine in life. His band is getting ready to take a year off and things are going good until he gets a late night phone call that changes everything. His 15-year-old daughter, Emma, has been in a car accident and is in the hospital getting ready to have surgery. He drops everything and flies across the world to be with her. David and Sylvie (Emma's mom) were both super young when they had a drunken one-night-stand that bound both of their lives infinitely together. Now, with nothing but time to kill, David has to face the woman he's always been intrigued by but never taken the time to get to know and the demons that chase him all while learning that putting his family first is something he should have been doing all along.

Sylvie's responsibilities started at 16 and never stopped. But she's made the best out of the cards that were dealt to her. She's strong, independent and a great mom. Syl is a pretty freaking awesome heroine. David had done a lot of crappy things in the years she's known him, but as she worked to put the past where it belonged and allow their relationship to evolve, I found myself cheering them on and hoping for a happy ending. They both deserved some happiness and I won't spoil the ending but it was AWESOME.

I can't wait for the rest of this series, the first two have been amazing and the third one sounds like it will be just as great. It's totally different from her first series, but still just as good. It's got a real/gritty/down-to-earth vibe going on that has somehow consumed me and keeps me wishing for more. Nice job Julia! Keep up the excellent work and never stop writing.

I received this book as an ARC and am giving an honest review.

This author just keeps proving that she’s perfecting her craft with each new book. David and Sylvia aren’t quite as gritty as Nick and Dalia were, but they are the reality of two people trying to co-parent when one is clueless and the other is left behind to keep everything together.

Sylvia is rightfully cautious and slightly bitter about how to tolerate David, since he’s been more of a drop-in dad to their daughter for her entire life, but finds herself thawing toward him when circumstances thrust them together under one roof. She’s always been in love with David, but she’s certain he’s never truly felt anything for her, so she’s afraid of handing her cracked heart to him because he just might shatter it.

David, on the other hand, sees more than ever that he’s been remiss in his role as a father, so he’s trying to change it going forward. His only problem is that he wants Sylvia, and if he’s honest with himself, he’s loved and wanted her for what feels like forever. He works hard to become the man he wants to be, not just for Sylvia, but for himself and his daughter, as well.

These two definitely have a bumpy road, but David refuses to give up on the love of his life now that he’s finally gotten everything on track to where he truly wants to be. He works hard to change his fear and to prove to Sylvia that he IS the man for her and he IS in it for the long haul. Their HEA is beautiful and the epilogue made me cry.

This series has a much different feel from the first series, but that’s a good thing. Julia is proving that she’s got more than one trick or formula to work from and truly has something new to offer and delight readers in every book. I literally ranged from laughing to tearing up to happy to angry while reading this story, and I can’t recommend it enough because it gives the feeling of real life and real experiences without feeling forced at all.

This story had me hooked from the moment I read for the blurb for it and even when I finished reading this story I could not stop thinking about the story or the characters in the story. The blurb was perfectly written by the author ebcause it did not give any of the stories away but gave enough detail to really pull you into the story. I love the way that these two main characters have a history with each other and they don't instantly get back together. They really explore their past with each other and the mistakes they made on the way. The characters really grew within the story and I found the title to be so fitting because both characters had to unravel the past in order to make a better future for themselves.

Sylvia is a strong female character that carries around a lot of bitterness and resentment towards her daughter's father David. But she is really caring with the way that she helps others and the way that she is with her friend. I found her to be the perfect character for this story,

David, I really loved in the story, he was the hot rockstar that turned out to be a lot different than I originally thought about him at the start of the book. He really grew within the story and I really enjoyed reading about the changes he made in the story.

The relationship between these two characters was certainly not an easy one with many bumps in the road for them both. I really loved them together because I found they were perfect for each other and their personalities complemented each other. This is a definite must read that I really recommend.

Get ready for an all-nighter!

First, the title, Watch Me Unravel, is so very perfect. David and Sylvia have both wrapped themselves up so thoroughly in layers of emotional armor--and are equally and deliberately wound up with unspent...everything--you're going to be squirming in your comfy reading chair with anticipation as you wait for the breaking point. For it all to unravel and for these two to collide. And what a sweet frenzy it is when they do!

I especially love how much care the author takes in allowing the relationship between David and Sylvia to grow new roots before the inevitable physical side evolves. We get so many delicious little encounters as they discover unknown parts of each other and themselves. You can't help but become invested in their story, thus the all-nighter I warned about.

And no review would be complete without mentioning Julia Wolf's flair for threading humor throughout the emotional and steamy storyline. I was utterly charmed by the three central characters and, probably more important, I believed them.

You need this book in your life! Trust me. Just go grab it and thank me later.

THIS!!! I really enjoyed the first book in the series; however, I loved this one. I could not put it down. I’m not even sure where to begin. I thought that Pixie Cut was my favorite book by Julia Wolf but now this book is my favorite. I don’t think you absolutely have to read the first book in order to understand this one.

This book is so well written and the emotions of the characters so raw. The author provides you with just enough background of the characters without it being too wordy or dragging it out. The story delves into what it was like having a child so young and the different paths that David and Sylvia took and then finally coming together as a family after Emma’s accident, working through all those raw emotions and realizations. As much as I wanted to hate David at times for how much Sylvia had to struggle so young it was difficult because I think many people his age would have taken the same path given the opportunity for stardom. Definite book hangover with this one.

This is the second book in a series, and a second chance romance. I loved David and Sylvia's path to a new beginning. David is a strong well meaning hero who has his share of inner demons, who is learning how to deal with his life, and Sylvia is a strong single mom who is unsure of David. Watching the give and take, and witnessing the compromises make for an in-depth and enjoyable read, and you root for them to find their happy ever after. This was a really good book.

I do not like 2nd chance romance and rockstar is not my usual trope so going into this book there was a lot stacked against it. I fell in love with the whole cast in book one and was blown away so I figured I would give this one a shot
I have never read a 2nd chance like this and was pleasantly surprised. Once again Julia made a liar out of me. I loved the book and cannot wait for more.

The first book in Blue is The Color was a pleasant surprise and a 5 star read for me. This one falls just short and actually really dragged at the last quarter. David & Sylvie had a one night stand when both were teenagers that resulted in Sylvie having to grow up really fast and David hitting the road with his newly discovered band. The book takes a look back at what went wrong, why David felt like he was doing the right thing and Sylvie's resentment is all over the place, this is where I had an issue - when David and Sylvie are together there are fireworks - but one sentence - overheard brings out the worst in Sylvie and that lasted a little too long for me. Add in Sylvie's really good friend Suz (who I wanted to slap) and at times I wanted this to just end already, thankfully there is a happy ending - not at the expense of the band, which is another major reason I read rock books.

I was curious about David in Blue is the Color book 1 so I thrilled to read is his story. A one-night stand and a broken condom tied Sylvia and David together when they had Emma as young teens. Yet, even after 15 years, they two only communicate when it comes to Emma.

This author does a great job and illustrating how difficult being a young single parent can be. Sylvia is a strong character who is a great mother to Emma. While David was off galavanting around the globe living his dream, she made sacrifices and changed her dreams so that she could raise her daughter. One of the things that I liked about her is that while she had plenty of resentment towards David and while she struggled with her conflicting feelings towards him (the resentment and love), she eventually learned to forgive him.

David had a difficult childhood that will pull at your heartstrings. He didn’t have a good role model growing up and his view of being a good dad is skewed. He considers himself to be a good dad in that he sends money and visits Emma between touring until an accident brings him closer to his daughter and Sylvia and he has to face reality. I really enjoyed watching David grow as a character. What I love is that the author didn’t make him change overnight. It was a rocky road as he recognized that he made mistakes and while it is a rocky road, he strives to be better.

I really enjoyed watching David evolve and mature as a character as watching Sylvia move on from the past. The two bicker a lot, but sparks also fly. I also liked that this book was told from a dual POV as I like seeing into the minds of both characters. While there were small appearances of the other band members, I was hoping to see more of them - especially after they all had such a big presence in the previous book. I did find the book to be a bit long in some areas, but for the most part moved at a pretty good pace. Watch Me Unravel is a beautifully written, entertaining second chance romance. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

I should of loved this one. It screams everything I love in a good second chance romance, but it fell flatter than a door for me. I actually liked the hero, the heroine annoyed me (maybe the narrator? But I have my suspicions I would of felt that way regardless) These two had zero chemistry. It was boring.

When a serious accident happens to their daughter Emma, David and Sylvia are thrown together after fifteen years of parallel parenting. Having minimal interaction with each other, now the feelings they held close to themselves were exposed showing all the regret, hope and love they gradually built up for each other and allowing all the potential for romance that was there years earlier to finally be sifted through. This was not a second chance romance as much as it was a story of the right timing, circumstances and maturity coming together. A teen hook up, a broken condom and a baby were the devices used by Julia Wolf to make an interesting spin in her work focusing around two characters that had no real context to their relationship other than the consequences of their teen pregnancy. This author gave a genuine and raw look at the evolution of a relationship between a couple that had no true history with each other to fall back on and take comfort in as they struggled to be parents while still kids themselves.

David was a man-child for many years yet his absolute devotion to his daughter never waivered making him likable even when his actions spoke otherwise. His openly addressing his shortcomings without making excuses even as he battled with regret and guilt gave him substance to justify his hero role. Sylvia was not without issues herself but her ability to rise above her personal struggles and be an incredible mother spoke volumes. Past and present communication was a key factor in how this couple dealt with hurt, mistakes and misunderstandings. As David and Sylvia aged their ability to see beyond assumptions and not let them hold them back allowed them to achieved their happiness.

Julia Wolf creates interesting and well-developed character portrayals. She does a great job of bringing the past to the present while maintaining a current perspective to her work. Her dialog is sharp and unique to her players. Ms. Wolf's character analysis shows that she is unafraid and does not fall prey to stereotyping with her out of the box storylines. The Blue Is The Color series started off great with Times Like These and continues this trend with Watch Me Unravel!

*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own.*
*While part of a series this book can be read as a stand alone.*

We met Dave the broodish guitar player in book one and not gonna lie he was a douche of epic proportions in that book. All we knew going in is that he was a manwhore with a teenage daughter from a one night stand. At the opening of this book it seems not much has changed in that regard, but then he gets a phone call that changes everything and he is thrust into a world he knows nothing about. Sylvia has always loved David but it has been made quite clear through endless heartbreaks and colossal mistakes on his part that those feelings are not returned so when the unthinkable happens and he is finally around to be a father to their daughter she is surprised to see not all is what it seems. These two have a whole load of past resentment and preconceived notions to battle through not to mention finally getting to actually know one another after 15 years in order for them to finally get their relationship on the right track and it was an amazing story to read from start to finish. Dave finally realizes that the good dad label he gave himself definitely wasn't earned and the hurt he caused Sylvia certainly has some lasting impacts he is going to have to heal before she can ever let herself fully trust him again. Meanwhile Sylvia needs to let the past of unrequited love and disappointment go in order to finally understand David and realize that what she thought was love all these years was just a fantasy. Mistakes were made before and are made again as these to learn who each other are and finally get their long awaited chance to be a real family with their daughter. This really was a fabulous read and was such a realistic take on how sometimes timing in life is everything. This hea is heard fought and truly earned and it was great to read! Can't wait for the next book in the series!

Watch Me Unravel is book 2 in the Blue is the Color series and believe me when I say you must get your hands on this book ASAP!

We get to know a little bit about David in the first book, but this time we really get up close and personal with him. I absolutely loved how devoted he was to his daughter and it really showed throughout this book. The way his eyes are opened throughout the story is also wonderfully written. When his daughter, Emma, is in an accident David rushes home to be by her side. With their typical time only consisting of a few days or maybe a week together before he leaves on his next tour, the chance to spend a much longer amount of time together has David finally able to be a part of things he normally misses out on.

The only wrinkle in the situation is that there is no way Emma's mom Sylvia will let her daughter stay away that long while trying to heal from her accident. Even though she has no desire to be anywhere near David, the two decided that it will be best for Emma's recovery if they all stay together.

With both of them having such strong personalities and with Sylvia's very strong opinion about David , forcing them to be civil in a confined space proves very difficult. Throw in the fact that they both have such a strong attraction to each other and the sparks begin to fly.

This book was heartbreaking at times but also very raw and real. The characters quickly became some of my favorites and I was dying to know how things were going to work out.

A must read book for sure! - By Alisa

It’s no secret. I love Julia Wolf’s books and I am happy to provide a review for the ARC she gave me.

Watch Me Unravel is the second book in the Blue is the Color series. This book stars David, a carefree rockstar guitarist. I couldn’t help but like David in the first book. He was flirtatious and fun and obviously loved his teenage daughter. The book starts with David being woken by his daughter’s mother Sylvia to say there had been an accident. He rushes back home from touring in Germany to find his daughter’s leg broken.

The band is now on a year break and David moves Sylvia and their daughter into his condo so she can heal from her injuries. David and Sylvia had a one night stand fifteen years ago and he’s let her be the primary parent since. The best thing about this book was the slow realization David had about just how much he missed out on. Sylvia was a saint and never called him out on how uninvolved he was in parenting.

They worked through their issues and have a totally awesome HEA. Second chance romances are my jam and this book totally hit the mark on the sweet, slightly angsty reconciliation 15 years in the making. Julia is a wonderful story teller and I look forward to reading more in this series.

Watch Me Unravel is Book 2 in the Blue is the Colour Series. I had the wonderful opportunity to read Book 1 in this series followed by this one. Whilst I think it could be read as a stand alone it is better having read the first book as it sets this one up perfectly in terms of knowing the back story and the characters.

Sylvia is a strong, fiercely independent single mother of Emma. Up until now her life has been focused on Emma, her job and her friends. One of my favourite parts about this book is her friendship with Suz and the support that they show each other throughout.

David is the guitarist for the band Blue is the Colour. Whilst he has a tough exterior, he shows a vulnerable side throughout the story and we learn about his struggles with anxiety. Julia Wolf does a wonderful job in tackling this tough subject in a sensitive way.

Their relationship is certainly a roller coaster of emotions with many ups and downs throughout. I loved Sylvia and David together and I was cheering for them the whole time hoping for their HEA.

Julia Wolf just keeps getting better. She’s an incredible storyteller and certainly knows how to write those hot steamy scenes.

I’m really enjoying this series and Julia Wolf’s writing style and I can’t wait to read Book 3.

I did not expect to love David!!!!

This book blew me away and maybe my book of the year.

He is NOT book boyfriend. He's the opposite. He is a rockstar and a bit broken.

Sylvia has her act together. She has a career that she loves and a great relationship with her daughter and David's mother.

David has spent Emma's lifespan being on tour for months of the year. He calls her and pays child support. He sees Emma a few weeks of the year.

But he misses all her soccer games and has cancelled many an outing with her. So Sylvia is walled up about David. She doesn't trust him.

This story starts when Emma is in a car accident and breaks her leg. David comes home from tour and the three of them move to David's condo because it's a single floor.

It's a wonderful and realistic time of David and Sylvia airing feelings (mostly hurt) and getting to know one another. David has the biggest journey it seems but Syl has loads and years of resentment to work through.

Does David consider himself a good father because he does more than his father had?
He did. But he doesn't now.

Smart kid Emma loves him anyway. And I like that. I also understand Syl's version too.

You're going to like this "rockstar" book.

Watch Me Unravel is the second book in the Blue is the Color series. While is is the second book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone. Even though this reader recommends you read the first book prior to this one to have more of a dynamic of the band members. The author does do a great job of reminding us readers who read the first book and for those that didn’t read the first one, about the other characters relationships so a new reader will not be lost.
David and Sylvia were a lot more that what I was expecting. The author was awesome in keeping events and timelines realistic. She also does a wonderful job with her writing that makes if easy to visualize the scene and really place you in the story. You feel as if you really know the characters and are feeling the emotions they are feeling. These emotions will have you all over the place from laughs to tears and upset at the actions or words the characters do. There is so much depth to David and Sylvia and when you expect one thing to happen the author surprises you with something different. This reader found it difficult to put the book down and I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
