The next night, his whispered promises made me fall in love.
And then without speaking a word, Jamie Cooper broke my heart.

About the author

The first time Anna read a romance novel, she leaned over a candle to sneak a peek at her mom’s Harlequin. She only got a few sentences in before her hair caught on fire, and her love of happily ever afters began.
Anna was born in Wisconsin but currently lives in Texas. She is the proud wife of a retired Coastie and an even prouder mother to two amazing sons.
When she’s not writing, you can find her doing a puzzle, watching reruns of her favorite rom-coms, or attempting to stay in shape by walking her rescue dogs.
She loves to hear from readers and can be found on social media at @annabrooksauth everywhere, or you can contact her from her website.

- Reviewed in Australia on 11 September 2019OMG! Anna you’ve done it again. I love your stories so much, and you’re an amazing storyteller.
First things first, YOU NEED TO FIX L&M! FIX. THEM!
I really enjoyed Mercy and Jamie’s story, and all of the ups and downs that went with them.
Jamie didn’t have a whole family unit growing up, where as Mercy had it, but it wasn’t the perfect family.
They meet one night out and Mercy didn’t fall for his cheesy pickup lines, but they did fall into bed together. I love a great story in which there’s that instant connection, and it like this for these two from the beginning. I loved their banter back and forth!!
Just one thing after another happens as to why they haven’t connected with one another over 3 years. AND THEN IT HAPPENS!!
Boy, was that an explosion waiting to happen, and not in the good way either.
Talk about a small world, and who they both know. WOW! I loved all the twists and turns, and how you didn’t know what was going to happen on the next page!
Charity, her sister isn’t putting up with any of Jamie’s shenanigans, and wants her to walk away from him.
Oh, I loved that they were in Kentucky! It’s where I’m from!
Can Mercy just walk away?
Can she sign the papers in time before someone else comes into her life?
Will Jamie get the truth as to what really happened that night?
My fave quote from the book:
As long as I can call you mine, nothing else matters. - SWOON MOMENT! UGH Jamie! I can’t!
- Reviewed in Australia on 5 January 2020Justifying Jamie is a love story of chance meetings, instant soul deep connections and so many misunderstandings. A story full of angst, heartbreaking moments that will have your chest aching and so much chemistry that you will feel the tingles in your fingertips. Jamie and Mercy have one fleeting night that is full of promises but when life intervenes, years will pass, mistakes will be made, harsh words will be spoken but one thing will remain, the love they have for each other. As these two deal with mistakes that are life altering your pulse will race, your loyalty will be torn but one thing will be for sure, Jamie will justify everything and own your heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely fantastic read 😍😍💖💖
Verified PurchaseI received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
Anna Brooks has surpassed herself with this book.
I already thought that Anna was an amazing author, but this book is out of this world amazing 🙀🙀
I absolutely love the main character's and how they are written, and also how there story is written, because this is exactly how real life really is. It doesn't always run smoothly, there are obstacles that get in the way.
This book is really well written and thoroughly enjoyable, it's not just the main character's that you will love, you'll love everyone else and want to know more especially about the boy's in the band, and hopefully we will 🤞🤞
I'd definitely recommend this book 💖💖

5.0 out of 5 stars Emotional Gold
Verified PurchaseJamie & Mercy's story starts out fun & sweet & OH SO SEXY. They have chemistry off the charts right away, and that parlays into a hookup. But... their connection is so strong, neither of them stays in "hookup" mindset for long. Unfortunately, due to the way they were bantering and a series of unfortunate circumstances, a misunderstanding occurs that rips them apart.
That's when the emotional and angstiness begins. I just wanted to hug them both SO HARD! And also possibly smack the back of their heads "Gibbs style." ; ) They each have things they need to work through surrounding not only misunderstandings and their relationship, but individually as well. There is GREAT character development in this story!
There were parts that made me laugh, and parts that made me cry (even on the 2nd & 3rd read-through) but I enjoyed the whole thing - even the angsty bits which y'all know I'm not usually a fan of those!! Highly recommend this story - well written, well told, well developed. Thumbs up & 5++ stars!! : )

Verified PurchaseI think that about covers it. "This writer is a professional." The mark of a well-crafted novel in any genre is professionalism.
Here is a book written with the all-necessary readers in mind. Both technical and creative aspects have been dealt due diligence and respect for the art form.
Terrific, multifaceted characters and premise, properly edited and presented as is correct. I'm impressed.
Highly recommended! Try it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this series
Verified PurchaseJamie is a rock star living the good life until a one night stand leaves him dumbstruck. Mercy gets deep into his soul, and the feeling is mutual. A miscommunication leaves them with no contact for several years until one day, they meet again and sparks fly just as before. These two go through some very rough patches, but eventually end up with their HEA. I did not read this series in order, but it didn't really matter because each book was its own story. I love the way Anna develops her characters, you feel you know them, even n being part of their family. Reason To Ruin is a successful rock band, bit it's also a very successful book series.
