Dirty Dicks #3

Crazy Stupid Love

Rate this book
There’s a special place in hell for a man like me—a man who shamelessly sleeps with his best friend’s little sister, knowing he’ll never be what she needs. A man who takes because the only thing he has to offer in return is a broken past that’s destined to destroy his future.

I was the kid who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks with shit parents and clothes that had been handed down one too many times. I stole to feed my sister, fought to protect her, and I’ll always be the guy your parents don’t want you to bring home.

So yeah, that’s me. Lincoln Bennett. Adley Allen’s walk on the wild side. Her dirty little secret. And I’m okay with that—ninety-nine percent of the time. Unfortunately today is in that one percent when it doesn’t sit well with me. For some strange reason, I want to be around to celebrate all of Adley’s successes. I want to be here when she gets her first job and take her out to dinner after her first shift. I want to be the one she depends on, the person she calls when she has a bad day. Or a great day. Or any kind of day.

I want more than her body. I want her heart. But men like me don’t get women like her.

At least not to keep.

What on earth am I going to do until the next book comes out???!!!! I have fallen ridiculously in love with these books and their characters, and quite frankly, I’m not prepared to give them up just yet.

CRAZY STUPID LOVE is Lincoln and Adleys story. Adley is the youngest Allen sibling, and the only girl. Lincoln is her older brother, Rhetts, best friend. UH-OH!!!

As with the previous two books, this one has the witty banter (those Allen boys are hilarious). It has the angst and it has the sizzling sexual chemistry. KL Grayson is a superb writer, and she has created a world that you just want to get lost in. I am so glad I discovered her books, and I’ve already downloaded everything else she has written. I’m a teeny bit obsessed...

If you haven’t read the DIRTY DICKS series yet, then you are seriously missing out on something spectacular!!

Crazy Stupid Love is the sweet and sexy story of Adley and Lincoln. It is a standalone, although there is some history mentioned from prior books, new readers could follow along just fine.

Adley is an innocent soul, but in no way naive. She meets Lincoln through her older brother and while there is an attraction, the two stay away from each other for a while. At first.

Lincoln. Oh, Lincoln. He’s a damaged soul that is so easy to fall in love with. The fact he doesn’t see that, makes him that much more lovable. He’s determined, hard working, and cares deeply. Adley was able to fit into his life so easily, he barely noticed.

Overall, Crazy Stupid Love was a great novel that was so fun to get lost in. I opened it up and didn’t come up for air, I was so enthralled. It’s low on drama and high on love. It was well developed and paced quickly. I would recommend this to any reader looking for a sexy older brother’s best friend romance.

I just love this series and these characters.
Crazy, Stupid Love is the story of Adley and Lincoln (Rhett's best friend aka big brother to Adley).
I love when a brother tells a friend that his little sister is off-limits yet the attraction can't be denied and they go behind his back lol
What started off as something fun turns into more as Lincoln realizes that he is capable of being more than his parents were ever to him and his sister, that he is deserving of love and capable of being a stand-up guy.
There was never doubt in my mind that Lincoln could be this guy to Adley as he was so protective of her and just an overall great guy. When things turn for them unexpectedly, I was dying from happiness and ready to watch him prove himself... and boy did he!!
I am absolutely IN LOVE with this series and can't wait to watch the other characters find their happy... bring it on K.L. Grayson... I am ready for more! xo

I love this series. It just gets better with each book. This one delivers on the feels. Adley and Lincoln are so cute together. Lincoln's childhood just breaks my heart and for him to have Adley in his corner warms my heart. She brings light and happiness into his life. Only problem can Lincoln believe he is worth that kind of future. I just gobbled up this book and I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Crazy, Stupid Love by K.L. Grayson is a best friend’s little sister romance with all the feels. Lincoln wants Adley. More than anything, but he knows he is not good for her. Especially when her older brother, his best friend, tells him to stay away. So, he does. Lincoln is not the kind of guy that is looking for forever, until Adley. But he needs to stay away for her own good.

I loved Adley. She was strong and caring. The good girl that knew what she wanted and would fight for it. And she knew Lincoln was worth it. Lincoln was so caring and protective. And he tried to stay away, he really did. On the outside he could be seen as a bad boy, but he was really so much more than that. Adley saw him, the real him. But how could she ever reach him? I loved that she never gave up. She was the what he needed all along.

I truly enjoyed reading Crazy, Stupid Love by K.L. Grayson. It was on the emotional side at times but was also steamy and sexy. I loved Lincoln and Adley so much. They had a great connection and I loved their story!

Audiobook Review

Overall 4 stars
Performance 5 stars
Story 3 stars

Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross were awesome in this best friend's little sister romance, featuring Adley and Lincoln. The duet narration is always a treat and is my favorite way to listen to audiobooks. Crazy Stupid Love was sweet with a side of serious thanks to Lincoln's childhood. Though this is book 3 in the series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone. Characters from the previous 2 books do appear, however, so it would be best if the books were read/listened to in order.

I do wish that a little more time would have been spent on the backstory/beginnings of Adley and Lincoln. When the story starts, we are already several months into their relationship and are just supposed to accept and feel their love. It almost felt like a piece of the story was missing. Lincoln was sweet, attentive, and sexy, and I liked watching his character mature throughout the book. Sure, he made mistakes, but so did Adley. They both grew individually and as a couple. As much as I liked their relationship and rooted for them to find their HEA though, I can't say that I loved them.

Something that did stand out to me in the story was Lincoln's relationship with his father. Lincoln's childhood was especially emotional and I liked that the author didn't gloss over the anger and hurt surrounding those events. It wasn't an easy topic to include, but it played such a huge part in shaping Lincoln into the man he had become. Another part I enjoyed was when all the women were discussing the names of their love stories and all the nods to the previous (as well as future) books! It was a fun addition to the story!

Adley is the youngest of the Allens (and only girl among them), and Linc(oln) is her older brother Rhett's best friend. They end up falling into a no-strings type of relationship but end up developing feelings (that've probably been there for the years that they've watched each other grow up).

Linc varies from sweet and thoughtful to shutting Adley out of his life to being kind of possessive. I did feel badly for him, given what happened in his childhood, but he was a little to alpha at some times for me (For the majority of readers, I'm sure he'll be just right. I'm the Goldilocks here). I enjoyed learning his back story and watching him develop as elements in his life changed.

And I liked Adley as a character. She's smart, honest, and thoughtful. She obviously makes a few mistakes of her own, but it's pretty clear that one is miserable without the other, and they just seem meant to be, for lack of better phrasing.

Though I enjoyed the read, I will admit that I wasn't overly surprised by any of the twists that the book served. I think this story would be best enjoyed at a beach/pool with a fun drink (maybe with an umbrella, if you're feeling fancy!). It definitely had the feel of a summer read, despite dealing with darker elements including child abuse and addiction.

Am I the only one who thinks that there is some part missing in the story? Like the main part where the couple falls in love?

The story starts when the mcs already have been in some kind of relationship for 5 months. There is no build up, no real explanation or backflash of how they had gotten together in the first place.

Sure, I want to see the mcs together as a couple but I need to know how and why they have fallen in love before that.

I also didn‘t care for Adley all that much. She could be so self righteous. Talking about forgiveness when he suffered emotional and physical abuse while she couldn‘t easily forgive something he said in an argument which wasn‘t even directed at her.

Forbidden romance .... check ... hot cowboy .... check ... great story line .... check

If that doesn't make you want to pick up Crazy, Stupid Love by K.L. Grayson then I don't know what will. After Lincoln was told by Adley's brother to stay away from his little sister, he has always done that .... till one night when Adley walked into the bar and into his heart .... now the two of them are sneaking around and can't keep their hands off of one another. Lincoln is not the guy that does relationships after having abandonment issues from when his mom left him and suffering abuse from his alcoholic father - the only thing that is keeping him together is keeping his heart at bay. But the connection between him and Adley is starting to break down the barriers.

Lincoln is such a complex character who wants a better life for his sister then what he had growing up. He has a heart of gold - paying for his sisters tuition, supporting his alcoholic father and trying not to be the man that his father was. He believes that he is broken and cannot love - but that is until he meets Adley. Afraid that he is going to break her heart, he tries to keep her at bay - but the two have such a connection that it is getting harder and harder for him to keep her away. I love the fact that Adley does not give up, that she brings light into Lincoln's life - that she is trying to understand how he became the man he is. The fact they are taking a chance on love is a beautiful story in itself.

If love hot cowboys, taking a chance on love and just a good story, then Crazy, Stupid Love by K.L. Grayson is the book for you. I thought that the story line was beautifully written, the characters are flawed and realistic and the author did an amazing job of creating a story that just flows so beautifully together. Life is not perfect, love is not perfect - love can be crazy and love can be stupid and when you put it together, you get Crazy, Stupid Love and you must read it. Make sure you add this book to your To-Be-Read Shelf!

This book was so much fun to read! Yes it tackles some hard issues like abuse and alcoholism but it shows how a person can change their life and seek forgiveness for all the wrong they did. This story is about Lincoln and Adley. Lincoln is best friends with Adley's brother. I gotta say this was one of few brother's best friend/little sister story that ended without fighting. That shows how close Linc is to Adley and Rhett's family. Anyway back to this story, due to family issues and some illegal riding, Linc doesn't think he's capable of loving anyone. Adley shows him that's not true. I really love how something so casual turned into something way more then they both expected. Adley is great character! She challenges Linc and makes him think about his life and deal with his issues. They make some stupid choices but learn from them. I have to say my favorite part of this and it made me laugh the loudest was when the girls were sitting around talking about what their books would be called. I laughed so hard! I want to be apart of their group so bad!! There's so much healing that happens with this book and for that I was grateful. I was hoping the author didn't make him relapse. This is a great story with characters you will fall in love with!

With each book I love this series more! Adley and Linc are a lot of fun. The best friend’s little sister theme is one of my favorites and I love when things don’t go the way I anticipate. But these two are so good together. I love their dynamic. So mature and no bullshit drama. Sure there’s some drama but it’s not unnecessary or over the top. These two are sweet and definitely concerned about how everyone’s gonna react to their relationship but once they hit their stride they can’t be stopped. A strong couple that supports each other and Linc is nothing short of perfect even though he doubts himself. Honestly if you haven’t started this series go now. It’s a lot of fun like hanging out with old friends!

I loved the forbidden aspect to this story. For some reason best friends little sister books always hit the spot when I’m looking for something that is forbidden and watching them fight the attraction and deal with what happens with those around them finding out. Lincoln and Adley really were amazing together. Add in twists and some turns I couldn’t put it down once I got past the first few chapters. Add in seeing the characters from the first 2 books in the series the author really rounded the book out. I giggled, I swooned and my jaw dropped a few times. 4 stars #2OCCJD

Sleeping with best friend younger sister books are always so forbidden and juicy all wrapped in one and this one didn’t disappoint. As a matter of fact this one was a bit different because they had fallen for each other earlier and were having a very steamy secret affair.

Lincoln and Adley were perfect for each other in so many different ways. They came from different backgrounds which at one point seemed to almost mess up their relationship. Lincoln came from a very broken and abusive home while she came from a very loving family. Regardless these two were hot hot hot!!!!! Lincoln tried to hide his feelings for the off limits sister but it was inevitable. And Adley wasn’t letting the hot cowboy walk away. I did enjoy that their relationship was the best kept secret lol.

Their relationship showed growth and had Lincoln coming to terms about incidents of his childhood. His protectiveness of his sister Chloe is heartwarming and throw in the protectiveness towards Adley equals to swoony. Adley was young but very mature for her age. I loved her. She was very strong.

Now the last couple chapters especially the very last one had me laughing. It showed or gave an idea to who’s story is next. The Allen’s and the secondary characters are a great bunch.

Those Allen siblings....each book keeps getting better! In all honesty I wasn’t sure about this book when I first read the premise. The little insight we got into Lincoln in the first two books wasn’t very impressive to me. I was worried he was some immature guy who only thought with one head, and not the one attached to his neck. But from the beginning of Crazy Stupid Love we to see inside Lincoln’s head and understand him a bit. We learn about his tough childhood and how he got himself and his little sister through it. We also learn about Adley more and I liked her a lot! Adley and Lincoln are the perfect couple...if only they can see that for themselves....! Don’t miss out on another great book from KL Grayson, with excellent writing where you will feel so connected with the characters and have a serious book hangover when you’re done. But it’s so worth it!

KL blows me away with each new book in the series. I can’t get enough of these Allen siblings. Even their friends are knockouts. But it’s not just the killer looks of these characters but their hearts. Their hearts are so big and full of lots and lots of love. Family is important and I love the family connection. It’s like this big extended family.

Just like Rhett I wasn’t surprised these two fell into each other arms. KL gave us all the hints. Sometimes the best loves are the ones that are supposed to be off limits. Sometimes you just need to walk on the wild side and open your mind and heart. Adley and Lincoln were meant for each other. They had this sweet emotional pull and chemistry off the charts. They just were crazy stupid in love but neither knew what to do. So KL took us on a journey of love and unforgettable romance.

We finally get Lincoln and Adley's story!!! Lincoln and Adley have been around each other pretty much all their lives. Lincoln is Rhett's best friend, and Adley is Rhett's little sister. Lincoln and Adley start a friends with benefits relationship, but you know that never ends without feelings. This book covers hard issues like alcoholism, abuse, the after effects, emotional trauma of what resulted from the abuse. I loved their story. All I wanted to do was grab Lincoln and just give him the biggest hug and never let him go. Once his walls broke down about his childhood, he was raw, real, unfiltered, loving, determined....I love all the characters from the past books and future books!!! Definitely recommend Linc and Adley's story, I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for Beau's story :o)

I absolutely love this series and could not wait for Adley and Lincoln’s book. We knew that they were together after reading the last book but I wanted so much more of them. I wanted to know everything there was to know about Lincoln and see their relationship turn into something more.

Lincoln is Rhett’s best friend and has been warned by him to stay away from his little sister Adley. And he did, until she walked into the bar one night and stole his heart. One night between the two of them turned into many nights of being together. But it was nothing more than just sex between the two of them. Adley is still focusing on school and her career and Lincoln does not believe in love. He has abandonment issues and given the abuse he suffered growing up, he does not believe that love exists. While he cannot stay away from Adley he also believes that he is not good enough for her and should stay away.

At some point Adley wants more and Lincoln has come to realize that maybe he does too. They have still managed to keep their relationship hidden, but now that they are both ready to take the next step will their family approve? Can Lincoln truly get past his issues and give Adley what she needs and deserves.

I loved Lincoln. He is a very broken man and rightfully so. He managed to give away his heart without even knowing it. What I loved is how easy is was for the two of them to be together. Adley never for one minute believed that Lincoln was not good enough for her and she wanted to prove to him how amazing he really is. He has a huge heart, is loving, sweet and caring and he deserves to be happy just as much as she does. Adley is strong and isn’t afraid to go after what she wants, and she wants more from Lincoln. They were perfect together.

I really loved this book, all though the beginning for me was a little repetitive when it came to the sex scenes. But I was able to get past that especially when we got the the emotional part of this story. Because there are moments that will melt your heart but also break it. There was not a ton of drama but enough to make you feel. And I felt it all with them. I love the supporting characters and how much we get to see of them. There is one relationship that I loved watching grow a little and become a little bit stronger. I love all the characters and cannot wait for the next one.

3.5 🌟

This is the first book I have read from this author in this series. Being a standalone, you will not feel like you have missed out on anything, as you get an insight to the previous two books and their titles. Maybe even a hint at what is to come as well.

Lincoln Bennett is from the wrong side of town, and his upbringing is one that will make your heart melt for him and what he and his sister Chloe had to endure. But when he gets knocked down, he bounces back up stronger and ready to take on the next struggle. He certainly is a little bent just like the rest of us, but he had lots of qualities that were adorable. What started out as having fun, he starts something with his best friend, Rhett's little sister Adley Allen. But for both of them, feelings developed way before they initiated their intimate relationship. They had know each other for some time and Adley was smitten from the onset. Their love story is one that is sweet, and probably very predictable for most, but was a fun read none the less, it just didn't wow me. And although their sexy times were passionate and steamy, they started to become repetitive, which gets boring. I feel if you have read the previous books and loved them, you will enjoy this book too.

I have to say that this is my favourite!! Each book has taken a little of my heart but this took more.
I was drawn in from the first page as Lincoln and Adley meet and a connection is made. A connection that neither are ready to label yet, or give up. Lincoln has is battling an internal struggle, where he feels he isn't good enough or that he deserves somebody like Adley. Daley us struggling to hope for more, afraid she will scare Lincoln away. But the heart wants what the heart wants. Will they get their HEA? You will have to read it to find out! What I will say is that KL Grayson delivers once again with ALL the feels!!!

Lincoln & Adley may be my favorite couple. I was curious about Linc for awhile now, he was a secondary character that always gave me just a moments pause wondering what his story would be. He's Rhett's best friend and was warned away from Adley years ago when he first spotted her.
She was young, just starting her life and exactly the opposite of what Lincoln needed. Linc's life has taught him a few things, one of those is that love doesn't exist, people don't stay and so he doesn't do relationships at all.
Fast forward a few years and their paths cross, she's a woman now and not one he can walk away from.
What begins as friends with benefits that nobody knows about starts to feel different. That different isn't something Linc knows how to deal with. Adley could be his downfall or the saving grace he's in need of.

I love the Allen family, I swear these books get better and better with every chapter, with each new relationship, but hands down Linc & Adley are my new favorites. Loved this book from beginning to end. I have so many great parts stuck in my head I can't tell you which is my favorite, I just adored it all.

Lincoln!!!!! Holy Moly! Whew! This book is H.O.T! He was so much more alpha than I expected him to be.

Adley...love her! She's the sweetest.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SERIES!

The story line was perfect for these characters. I loved the conversations. I loved the celebrations. Everything was just perfection in this story. I always enjoy seeing characters from previous stories in a series reappear, but this one in particular, made me laugh each time. It brought my mind back to the characters in their own books and made me smile all over again.

There is a certain chapter towards the end of the book (I won't give too much away) where all the girls are discussing "love." I cried. I smiled. I laughed. I LOVED IT!!! Kirby...you rocked it!

This is the perfect fall-in-love-mixed-with-redemption story -- which is one of my favorite tropes. Lincoln jumps right into this one :) He's adorable. Adley is so cute. They're simply perfect!

I loved the love story aspect, but I REALLY loved the redemption aspect even more!! KL can write a comeback if I've ever seen one.

I can't wait for more of the series. I never want it to end.

K.L. Grayson has me currently attempting to find someway to jump into this amazing world she has created and live their forever. Holy smokes, I thought the first two books were amazing, but they don't hold a candle to Linc's story. There is much more to Linc than what meets the eye. Learning about his past and the challenges he thinks are in his way made me love him so much more. Adley is kind of a firecracker, yet so stinkin sweet and such a great friend that I kind of want to be her best friend.

Watching these two navigate some very rough waters had me hanging onto every word, not wanting to miss a second of this story. I guess it helps a little that it's a best friend's sister story, I am a huge sucker for those. Crazy Stupid Love is on my reread list and I won't be waiting long to dive back in again.

Crazy Stupid Love is Adley's book, she's the sister of Rhett and Trevor (from the previous books).

It's a cute "secret-relationship" story between Adley and Lincoln Bennett. Secret because Linc is best friends with Rhett and dating your best friend's sister is off limits.

Lincoln's past was a tough one and the man he is reflects that past. He's scared of becoming his parents and tries to close himself off to love and being loved. Adley, fresh from finishing school, wants more from Linc. In Crazy Stupid Love, we see their struggle of fighting their attraction and fighting their past.

Crazy Stupid Love is another cute easy read. This is a good addition to the series of interconnected books. I love seeing characters from the past books pop up.

3.7 This was a sweet story and although I haven’t read the previous books this is an interlocking stand-alone so I wasn’t lost. We’re given Adley and Lincoln’s story and who doesn’t enjoy a “brothers best friend romance” am I right?. Overall this is a light read with a few moments that come up and hit on serious topics on Lincoln’s side. I enjoyed the book however I wasn’t pulled into the point where I had that desire to grab hold every moment I had to see what happens next for these two. I can still see myself grabbing more in this series and finding out more about the other characters. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

CRAZY STUPID LOVE is book 3 in K.L. Grayson's DIRTY DICKS series, so far all of these books are have been fantastic. I loved every single word second of Lincoln and Adley’s story. This book is just perfect book. It was literally the perfect amount of sexy, romance, and humor, these two were completely opposite but their chemistry was so explosive. I keep saying each book is my fave. I changed my mind it's this one!! GAH i loved it!!

I've actually fell in love with this series. It's made me care about each and every character i there and that's my favorite thing to find in a series.

Up now is little sister Adley. We've had hints throughout the series that Adley and Lincoln are bumping uglies and we join them after the fact.

Both Adley and Linc are feeling more than they should for a casual fling. In the beginning that was what they both agreed to but as time has gone on they both want more.

Adley is coming to the end of her exams to become a nurse so she knows her time with Linc could be limited as she'll be job hunting and not spending as much time in his town.

Linc is having a tough time with his father and trying to earn enough money to look after him and his sister. He knows he's not good enough for Adley but he can't bring himself to let her go so he decides to give it a shot.

They both agree to be more but of course this is when all the complications come in. Adley has personal problems and Linc is struggling with his Father. Can they make it even till they get the chance to tell her family?

Love love love love loved it. These books have such a good feel to them my heart fills even before i pick them up!

I loved Adley, have done from the start but you see more of her straight talking in this book. I loved how she wasn't afraid to come out and say how she feels. I also loved her sweetness. She wanted to look after Linc when no one else had ever before. Simple things like doing his washing made me smile.

Linc is just EVERYTHING!! I mean hot bull rider, sexy as sin, alpha bossypants, loyal, honorable, dominant, sweet, caring, lovely honestly his only downside was not being able to express himself properly! lol All the rest YES YES YES!

Start to finish i was captured in the web of the Dirty Dicks family. I think that's my favorite thing about this series is the feel of it. We get to know everyone we come across and get to really care for them. It's amazing catching up with everyone i can't wait for Rhett and Mo's wedding and for the proposal i'm sure Trevor will soon be delivering. And finally we meet the illusive Beau!! Looks like Cooper's is gonna be last i can't wait to see him fall!!

The ending had me tearing up and jumping up and down with joy. Totally perfect for them!!

I can't get enough of this series. It really is becoming one of my absolute faves. Bring on the next!!

Highly recommend. Brilliantly written series which will steal your heart!
