About the author

Number 1 Amazon and USA Today bestselling author Amy Daws writes spicy love stories that take place in America, as well as across the pond. She's been known to pen her steamy novels in a tire shop waiting room and that experience inspired her rom-com Wait With Me that was turned into a feature film on Passionflix. When Amy is not writing, she’s likely making charcuterie boards from her home in South Dakota where she lives with her daughter and husband.

- Reviewed in Australia on 26 July 2018Verified PurchaseIt has been hours since I finished reading Dominate, and my head is still a jumble of thoughts, so please excuse this rumbling mess of a review
At the end of Surrender (which you will need to have read) I was all WTF Daws, you can't do this to me! The past week waiting for this book has been pure torture! I have never prayed for an early release more than I have with Dominate.
I was in tears from the first chapter. I kid you not, this is a lot more emotional than Surrender, and you will want to have tissues - and possibly vodka - by your side to survive it.
I have been wanting Gareth's story since we started the Harris Brother's series way back when. And it was worth every second of the wait.
There are 3 things:
1) I want to be part of this extended Harris family so bad 2) I want to be Sloan when I grow up - she is badass, full of love and just everything.
3) Gareth is my favourite Harris bro, and runs a close second to My Hayden in my heart.
We learn so much more about the relationship between Gareth and his father (who may or may not have redeemed himself a little to me).
Sophia, Rocky and Marisa are absolute scene stealers, and may have made this old duck (who has never, ever wanted kids) a little bit clucky! They were just completely adorable, and seeing these big bag footballers with them - swoon!
I am so sad that this series has come to an end. I want - no, I need more. Like, a book every other month. I mean, there is a new generation of Harris's now, so this should be viable, right Ms Daws?
Wonderful, heartbreaking, loving. I felt all the emotions as I was reading Dominate, and I know I will be going back real soon to reread them all again. I miss them already.
- Reviewed in Australia on 1 August 2018Verified PurchaseAfter Book 4 (Surrender) ended on a nail biting cliff hanger I loved that Dominate was ready to go straight away and wow, what a great read. So emotional and raw, yet tender and loving. I haven't cried while reading a book in a while but big fat tears fell in the beach scene. I felt pride at the hospital and so much anger towards the ex it made it an emotional rollercoaster but so so worth it. I'm sad to see this series come to an end but this has really enticed me to do a re-read. Loved every page - a must read. The books are definitely best read in order.
- Reviewed in Australia on 8 April 2020Verified PurchaseI gotta admit I loved this book alot more than the first one. It was so Good I love everything about the Harris family and all their ups and downs and this one was no different. We got more insight to Gareth's childhood and how it scarred him and affected his relationship with his dad but we also got to see him and his dad mending that relationship . There was alot of love and alot of tears in this book . It wasn't just about Gareth and Sloan. It was about Gareth opening up with his whole family. I loved it so much.
Thank you Ms Daws for writing such great books. I fell in love with the Harris clan and their friends one by one and I loved them more the more I read about them
- Reviewed in Australia on 23 April 2019Verified PurchaseThis book has it all: blood, sweat & tears. It was such a fitting conclusion to Gareth’s and Sloan’s story, as well as for the whole Harris family. After the cliffhanger ending in Surrender (Harris Brothers #4) I was in a state and I just had to know what happened next. What happens is that the relationship between them allows them to put their pasts behind them and for them to have a future together. Who surrenders? Who dominates? You have to read it to find out....
- Reviewed in Australia on 3 February 2022Verified PurchaseI think I cried through more than half of this book. Oh My God talk about tug on the heart strings. The perfect conclusion to the Harris family's story. Can't wait to meet their team mates.
- Reviewed in Australia on 29 July 2018Verified PurchaseLove love love the Harris Family. What an amazingly loving, supportive and hilarious family. I have been enthralled through every book in the series as they experienced their ups and downs all with the support and love of their family. So sad this is the end of the series. These books have made me cry and laugh out loud. Great end to the series. Maybe Amy could consider a follow up novella down the track so it’s not a good bye but see you later...

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved every minute
Verified PurchaseAmy is a new author to me but I am so glad I found her and the Harris Brothers series. If you haven’t read this series, trust me, this is a keeper series you’ll want to read again. Even if you just go by the reviews, you have to see how much reader’s love this author and this series. It’s 5 stars all the way. I’ve just sat and read all 5 books back to back in about 10 days and it has been awesome. Each book cover a different brother and the woman that dares to love him accept for the duet about Gareth and Sloan in books 4 and 5. This family has so much love to give, yet suffered such tragedy. I related to the losses they experienced and cried my heart out and it was very apparent that this author had suffered real loss too. You can not write about loss the way Amy does if you haven’t experienced it. I cried, I laughed, I smiled, I’m sure I frowned. It’s been a pleasure to spend these days reading about the Harris brothers and what’s even better is to find out that she wrote a series prior that cameos some of these people so now I’m heading back to amazon to get those books. Simply amazing. One of my fav reads this year - 5 star all the way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rollercoaster of emotions reading this - fantastic!
Verified PurchaseThis second part has been a killer! Do you realise it is difficult to read when you are crying! I've gone through every emotion with this book. I love the Harrises and their fantastic bond.
Gareth has been a tough one, so closed off through all the other books, but the one family member they all turned to for help. He was their father figure when their dad was lost in his own head. It was lovely to read him falling in love. Sloan really brought him to life. Their rollercoaster relationship was so real. Great end to a fantastic series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely wonderful and heartbreakingly beautiful
Verified PurchaseThere are so many places in this book that I teared up overcome with emotion. I have read all the Harris Brother stories and this one stands out with Vi's story coming in as a close second. Amy Daws weaves her magic and conveys complex emotions in such simple works.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 fabulous Footballer Stars
Verified PurchaseComing to the end of this book is truly a bittersweet moment for me. This has been an amazing journey, one that started out 4 years ago, me as a review for a friends blog that decided to pick up a book by a newish author but new to me. It was good, I enjoyed it so I decided to check out the next book in the series when it was released. I didn't love it, didn't hate it, gave it 3 stars and figured that was the end for this author as most authors once you give them 3 stars don't look to review another book by them, they are done with you. NOPE not this author, she was determined to get a better rating out of me, she thanked me for taking the time to review her book and respected that I didn't love her book and gave my honest opinion and asked me to give her another chance. So I did and enjoyed it a bit better was a 3.5 stars and yet again back she came next book looking for me to review. Most authors after two books that were only 3 stars I would move on, but there was just something about this author that made me want to keep reading so that I did and it was 4 stars and I must say I enjoyed it. But determined as she was, she wanted to me to love one of her books and get a 5 star and when she introduced me to Vi Harris and her crazy brothers and told the amazing and emotional story of Vi and Hayden, I was a goner. It was an amazing story, that had me in tears a few times, something I don't do often when reading but she did it to me and if I could have given more than 5 stars, I would have. But I knew after meeting these brothers of Vi, I knew I wanted more and I knew from that first glimpse of them, I knew I wanted Gareth's story, something just spoke to me about him. But Gareth would have to wait to till the end and he definitely was worth the wait.
I loved these boys, they were fun and crazy and they were amazing fun and flirty reads but I knew Gareth could never be a fun and flirty read, there was so much more to Gareth and to his past and it was all going to come to a head. And that it did and this book did not disappoint one bit. This author truly knows how to write an amazing emotional story and she truly nailed it in Dominate. Yes this book had it's fun moments, there can't not be fun moments with these crazy brothers and their sister Vi, but this book and this duet was truly an emotional roller coaster. Several times I found myself choked up, again something doesn't happen a lot but this one always had ugly crying, like uncontrollable tears with snot that just did not want to end.
I loved Gareth so very much and the further I got into this duet, especially this book, the more I fell in love with him. He always had my heart first but I fell in love with each of the other brothers as I got their story, but in the end, Gareth will always have the biggest part of my heart. Gareth may be moody but he is the one they all turn to, he's the big brother that was always there to take care of them, fix things when their Dad was not there to be their Dad. But now it's Gareth's time to live his life and be happy and Sloan was his perfect match.
I loved the dynamic the author built between these two characters in Surrender and I loved even more how it evolved in Dominate. I loved that as Gareth dealt with his past, we got to see more of the real Gareth, the one without the weight of the world on his shoulders. I loved how much he loved both Sloan and Sophia once he let the walls down he built on his heart and truly let them in. He plays football with so much passion but he loves with ten times the amount of passion he plays with. He has a huge heart and I love that he finally shows it with both his family and Sloan.
I also love that on top of this being the conclusion to Gareth's story, this book and duet is also the conclusion to the Harris family's story. I don't love that it's the conclusion, I am extremely sad to know there is no new book coming that the next Harris in line yet we will still get to see them all. But I love that this book seem to wrap up the whole series and all the siblings stories with their other half into a nice great big beautiful bow.
I must say though I struggled with this book internally. I wanted to devour it as fast as I could from the moment it landed on my kindle, I didn't want to put it down, I needed to know how it would all play out. But I also wanted go slow, and totally savour it cause once I hit that last page and saw THE END, there was no more to look forward to, no more counting down to the next book, no more wondering what characters we would see next book and what craziness would this family be up to next. Their story was done and it truly that I had been getting ready to say goodbye to family. Reading both the London Lovers series and the Harris brothers series these past four years was like watching my favourite show and each book was like binge watching the latest season but now I have just finished the series finale and although I am giddy with how it all ended, and I must say it ended perfectly, I am so very sad knowing I can go back and re-read but just like watching your favourite TV show, going back, you get to relive those great ups and the emotional downs of each of the stories and you will get those feels, but you will never feel the anticipation of not knowing what will happen next and the first time feels when those crazy boys tell the women that has captured their heart that they love them. That moment when the chemistry is off the charts and that spark ignites when they kiss for the very first time.
Overall this s a fabulous conclusion to this duet and a fabulous conclusion to this series. If you have not picked these books up yet or if you have only read Gareth's story, you really must go back and read Vi and Hayden's in That one Moment and then head right into the Harris Bros with Camden in Challenge. You won't be disappointed.
Amy Daws for several years you kept asking me to jump out of the plane with you with each new book you wrote and I truly respected you enough to keep jumping cause each jump just kept getting better and better and now that it has all come to end, I may be sad but I will soaring on a high for a while from these amazing stories, it's been one hell of a ride and I can't wait to see what you have instore in the coming years as you are permanently on my "One Click Author" list and you are at the top!
