About the author

Alice K. Wayne is a paranormal romance/ erotica writer straight out of the Motor City.
From a young age books became her favorite escape, and that love eventually turned to writing as well.
Alice loves traveling, is a self proclaimed foodie, sushi addict, selfie Queen, and like all good Detroiters, is completely obsessed with Red Wings hockey.
If you like thick books with twists, turns, depth, and LOTS of steamy scenes these books are for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wickedly charming and frighteningly sexy
Verified PurchaseThese were all a different take on the monsters we've all grown to know and love. They took me down an unusual path I'm not sure I was ready for but was peeking through my fingers to watch. Some are a little scary and gruesome with a steamy side that couldn't be ignored while others had a touch of humor and even a bit of sweetness for that Halloween sweet tooth. I just enjoyed each of them in an unexpected light and look forward to the author giving us more of several of my favorites.
The Wolfman was amusing and entertaining. His story made me laugh out loud and his frankness in the face of apocalyptic circumstances was refreshing. This one was probably my favorite, and I hope the author will bring more of his and Tangie's story to us at a later date.
Mistress Hyde was dark and dangerous from the first sentence. As much as she builds this outer shell around heart, a few pieces of her life trickle in, including her husband Thomas. He would do anything for her, and as cold and calculating as she is, I believe she truly loves him. But there's a part inside her that is so savage and inhuman, it made me wonder if she would survive. This one was wicked and filled with darkness with a naughty sexual undertone throughout. It was delicious, and I hope we get to see where the Mistress finds herself after the end.
Wicked Dreams was a dive into the psyche of a woman who has dark dreams of following a vamipre on his escapades through what seems like centuries. Sometimes she is in his past and sometimes his present. But no matter where she goes with him, she is simply an observer until one night. I know these characters, and I know she has special plans for them. I am filled with anticipation for the next chapter in this story.
Cthulhu is another who is part of an apocalyptic world, but in this story, he is an all-powerful and hypersexual being who finds the humans to be his playthings. He can destroy with a thought as quickly as he can give great pleasure. And when one woman becomes the center of his attention, we learn things about him we never would have thought to know. As terrifying as the creature is, the author makes him into a sensual being with needs much like our own. And the story is full of excitement and action from the very beginning as this woman tries to discover what lies beneath.
Loving Nefertiti was both heartwarming and heart wrenching. As much as Josiah wishes to fight her attraction, a love is built between them that could cross the ages. It was frightening, sweet, tender, and melancholy. And in the end, it was simply bewitching.
I enjoyed each of these stories on a different level. They were a taste of stories yet to come from the author's mind, and I found them to be intriguing and disturbing at the same time. But this author is someone who looks at the world in a different way, and I love that she give us a glimpse of the world in each of these stories. I truly hope she has more in store for us from each of these.

5.0 out of 5 stars All are amazing and I loved every single one!
Verified PurchaseThe Wolfman is hilarious and just awesome! I actually need more of him and Tangie. The writing kept you glued to the screen and the characters had you laughing at their @$$hole behavior. This short story is everything you need in a cool October night!
Mistress Hyde is everything dark and devious! I've always wondered what a female Hyde would be like, I just got my answer. She is everything. Dark, bloodthirsty, heartless and everything in between. She's made even more perfect with her willing assistant and love, her husband Thomas. These two aren't light and dark, they are dark and darker. With Mistress Hyde being the darker of the two. It was bloody fantastic and makes me want more of her and her dark soul!
I need more of Wicked Dreams! I was completely engulfed in this woman's struggles as she tried her hardest to find out what these dreams mean. When she does, I got so freaking excited. Seriously. I did. I know this is a short story, but dang does it leave you wanting more! Alice K. Wayne captures the perfect balance in V, she projects a kind of innocence that seems from desperation. I just absolutely need more!I
Cthulhu doesn't make most think sexy and all consuming. Powerful? Most definitely. Alice K. Wayne made me fall in love with one of the most horrifying monsters of all time. He's dangerous, sexy, powerful, and he has tentacles! Alice K. Wayne showed the true potential in her writing with this one. I felt the devotion she had for Cthulhu, I felt the terror she had seeing him in his true form, I felt the love she had for him. I felt it all.
Loving Nefertiti was such a sweet and heartbreaking story. Josiah and Nefertiti come together so beautifully, yet all things must end. Nefertiti and Josiah showed each other love like they had never felt before. It was beautiful and sad at the same time.
You know when you've read amazing short stories when you are dying for more. One more sentence, one more paragraph, one more chapter. Love and Death is an amazing collection of short stories that leaves you wanting more, yet also gives you everything you need to sit back and fill your head with the many adventures these characters could have. They end in such an open ended way that you can easily imagine what will come next. All five of these stories are amazing and I loved every single one. 5 stars for them all.
