Hot TV star Luke Rafferty is Hollywood's newest bad boy... at least, according to the tabloids. He's been steaming up the screens as Dr. Casanova for ten years, but thanks to his ex-wife, some tricky contract negotiations, and that incident with the stethoscope (don't ask), he's suddenly on an extended vacation - with his heartthrob career on the line.

Enter Stella Lane.

A Hamptons local, she's trying to get her home renovation company off the ground; winning the job for Luke's new beachfront retreat would be her big break. And when she just happens to overhear his agent suggesting a fake relationship to give his reputation a swoon-worthy makeover, Stella sees the perfect solution to both their problems.

What's a little fake smooching between friend(ly professionals)?

Stella is determined to keep her eyes on the prize renovation and her hands OFF the hunky actor wandering shirtless through her construction site. But Luke has other ideas. Midnight skinny-dipping ideas.

If only he wasn't so heart-stompingly, panty-twistingly handsome...

Soon, sparks are flying, and they're both forgetting their kisses are just for show. But can this fake relationship weather a very real tabloid storm? Or will past betrayals and the Hollywood spotlight drive them apart before their romance has even begun?

Find out in the new hot and hilarious romantic comedy from USA Today bestselling author, Lila Monroe!

Have you watched those clever women on the home reno shows on HGTV? They can not only build, renovate and have a flair for interior design but they are gorgeous too. Stella is one of those ladies, apart from the HGTV bit. She has her own construction company and has a passion for old buildings with good bones that can be brought back to life.

Stella has recently split from her cheating ex, who is also in the same industry as herself so they often tender against each other. They are both pitching for this incredible home beside the beach that has recently been purchased by Hollywood star, Luke Rafferty. Stella will do anything to win this job, she is already envisioning how magnificent it could turn out.

Luke has recently split from his celeb girlfriend who seems hell bent on dragging his name through the mud and back again. The fabricated lies are affecting his career and his PR team are trying to clean up his reputation. A fake relationship is proposed to keep his name out of the gutter and back into the hearts of his fans. After meeting Stella he decides that this could be a win win situation for both of them.

Thus begins a relationship of sorts between them. Stella is thrilled to be working on such an incredible project and Luke now has a beautiful woman on his arm who is not going to try and sell him out to the media vultures. In fact, Stella is nothing like any girl he has met before, she is a breathe of fresh air. She is beautiful, funny, intelligent and so bloody clever. The fact that she can build is pretty sexy too.

These two might be playing it up for the cameras but when the camera stops clicking and they are alone, with no reason to ‘play up’ for anyone, they can’t seem to stop. The attraction between them is definitely not fake and the more time they spend together, the more they realise this is becoming more than acting. What happens when the house is finished, will Luke stick around or live up to his reputation as Mr Casanova?

This was a great weekend read for me, another fab instalment in this series ☺

Did someone call for a doctor?

No?....well, you’ll need one after reading Mr. Casanova! I know I do!

In true Lila Monroe fashion, Mr. Casanova checks all the boxes in a good book: sizzling chemistry, humor, playfulness, and an entirely unscripted fairytale romance. The storyline pushes the boundaries of a typical “man’s world” profession and flips the script when it comes to truth and trust.

I loved this book! I know I’ve said it over and over again when it comes to the author’s books, but I just can’t help it! Every single time I fall in love with the characters, the unconventional dynamic to their relationship, and the overall spectacular writing style and emotional turmoil conveyed throughout the story. The author has an indescribable way of making readers feel embroiled in the characters, layering the storyline with passion and intrigue that explodes off the pages.

Luke and Stella are quite possibly two of my favorite characters in this series. Their relationship develops easily and flows effortlessly with the story. They each need the other for completely opposite reasons. But it’s their connection and touching, emotional moments together that heightens their attraction and makes the story that much more exciting, sexy, and dreamy.

Each book in the Billionaire Bachelor series gets better and better. I cannot wait for Fitz’s book. From the little sneak peek we get, I know it’ll be another must-read. Cause let’s face it…the bigger the perpetual bachelor, the harder the fall.

5 Stars!

Mr. Casanova was a light hearted and easy read.

Stella is a contractor and Luke is a troubled actor.They meet for the opportunity of a house renovation but by chance it becomes a different proposition.Stella needs this big work to show the world her value and Luke needs to restore his reputation so they start a fake relationship but they soon understand how much they like each other for real...will they have their happy ending together or once they get what they need they go back to their separate lives?
I liked how our heroine loves living in the Hamptons and how the author depicted this place not in the usual sparkling and luxurious light.

I can't get enough of Lila Monroe's books, I highly recommend this series.

Luke Rafferty might have played Mr. Casanova for 10 years, but his smooth talking and charming moves seem to be a thing of the past, both on the small screen and in real life, and with Luke’s image in need of a makeover, it’s up to Stella Lane to help Luke reclaim his heartthrob status as his fake girlfriend while she also works to get her home renovation business up and running by setting her sights on Luke’s beach hideaway. But while Luke and Stella both have a stake in their ‘relationship,’ things become a bit more complicated when the media catches wind of the new couple’s status and thrusts them into the spotlight, making it almost impossible for Stella to stick to her hands-off plans and focus on building up her company.

While all books in Lila Monroe’s Billionaire Bachelors series have some kind of fake arrangement between the hero and the heroine, each story presents it in its own unique way and in Mr. Casanova, readers are presented with a heroine trying to make it in a ‘man’s profession’ while also helping a television star revamp his image without losing her heart in the process.

I absolutely love how Monroe portrays Stella. She’s an intriguing character because she’s a hard worker in a profession that’s difficult for a woman to make a name for herself and despite the competition between her and her ex, she’s good at what she does and driven to be successful and like Luke, she more than deserves life to go her way again and she might just have a way to achieve that with Luke by her side and supporting her in all ways that he can.

Luke doesn’t come off as the stereotypical arrogant Hollywood star, and I think that’s why it’s so difficult for Stella to keep her distances when it came to his advances and her desire for him. He’s actually a good guy whose name gets dragged through the mud due to someone else’s lies and issues, which means that he deserves to restore his reputation and it seems like Stella can help him do that as well as learn to trust again.

Both the hero and the heroine have exes who are more than a bit crazy throughout the course of the story, which means that Luke and Stella have a lot of things to overcome if they plan to make a go of the feelings they develop as the story progresses and when the paparazzi and lies begin to infiltrate their lives, even more than they already have, Luke and Stella are going to need to decide if they can trust one another despite everything that’s brought out into the open and referred to as truth by the public, and if these two can endure the obstacles in their way, both personally and professionally, they both will gain so much more than what they originally thought they would when Stella entered Luke’s life.
Lila Monroe continues to entertain and woo readers with every book that she releases. Her characters and story lines are clever and complex and the low angst makes them fun and quirky reads that readers can’t help but enjoy.

5 Star Review of Mr. Casanova (Billionaire Bachelors # 5) by Lila Monroe

What a great addition to what has become one of my favourite series this year.This book was so good that I really didn’t want to put it down. I loved Mr.Casanova from start to finish; it was a fabulous read, full of great moments that really brought a smile to my face.
This is TV star Luke Rafferty and Stella Lane’s story and oh what a story Lila Monroe weaved. After playing Dr. Casanova for 10 years, Luke is on a forced vacation thanks to his bad boy ways and an ex wife who is a nightmare.
Stella is desperate to win the building contract for Luke’s new retreat as it will get her the publicity she needs to make her company a success. . They say that eavesdroppers never hear good, but in Stella’s case it isn’t true. When she overhears Luke’s agent suggesting he gets himself a “fake” girlfriend to ward off the tabloids and appease the studio bosses, she comes up with a win/win plan in her opinion.
Stella wants her business to succeed and is determined not to become involved with the hunky man but Luke has other ideas and this is where the fun really begins.
The chemistry between Luke and Stella is off the charts and the line between reality and make believe soon blurs. Can their relationship based on pretence, morph into something real? Or will being in the spotlight drive them apart?
In my opinion this series keeps getting better and better. One click now, you won’t be disappointed.

I love this series!

Luke gets away from his crazy ex and hides out/reboots himself in the Hamptons. Luke is a famous actor, and the press is hungry for anything he's doing. He is trying to get his image rehabbed from the craziness rumours were spread about him from his devil of an ex. Enter Stella, Stella renovates homes, and is bidding on Lukes home. She's been losing out on bids because of her competition and her competition is her ex. Who is a but*hole...

Stella knows she's losing out on the bid, but she's makes him an offer, only to be disappoint but her luck turns around, and she's dating Luke Rafferty.....

I really enjoyed this book. While Luke is sorta a complicated kinda guy. He has trust issues, and he wants to really find something he enjoys with his career again. Stella is a breath of fresh air for him. He truly enjoys his time with her, she's who she is, not complicated, fun, image isn't an issue, she's smart, she's determined and hardworker. Mr. Casanova is really sweet, fun, sexy and an enjoyable read. Their chemisty is hot!

I can't wait for Fitz's story!!!!

Billionaire Bachelors Series...

Can I just say how much I love Lila Monroe's stories?!?

Mr. Casanova is just another gem in the crown of her success!

This is the story of Luke and Stella...

Stella is a home renovator, she is a female working in a male dominated field and unfortunately it is not a easy job for her.  But she loves it and she continues to persevere!

She has a once in a lifetime opportunity fall into her lap and she jumps at the chance!

Enter Luke, disgraced actor, looking to reimage himself into the person he truly is. He is also looking to reimage the new home he bought.

These two meet and sparks fly!

This is a classic Lila Monroe story with so much humor, heat and heart you won't be able to put it down till the very end.

I loved the secondary characters and I loved the chance revisit characters in her other stories.  Even though every story of Ms. Monroe's is a stand alone, it's just such fun to catch up with what everyone is up to in her world!

If you are looking for a funny, lighthearted and smexy romance, get this! You won't be disappointed!!

Rules are in place for a reason, but you know with Lila Monroe’s Billionaire Bachelors series, the rules always seem to be broken. Not to fret, Ms. Monroe’s broken rules lead to some smexy romance, angsty story tension and a satisfying HEA.

Mr. Casanova has become one of my favorites in Ms. Monroe’s series of standalone romance novellas. Each story centers on the premise of a fake relationship (not an escort) set up by an agency. In Mr. Casanova, Luke Rafferty is an actor on the outs in Hollywood due to his ex-wife’s fabricated stories for her own personal gain. The deliciously handsome heartthrob is licking his wounds at his new mansion in the Hamptons when he meets local general contractor Stella Lane. Stella is rebuilding her business after her louse of an ex-husband has stolen her clients, and nearly good-ol’-boyed her out of business. She is smart, has a good eye for design, and can wield a hammer or wrench as good as the next guy. Her loyal friends and construction crew are charming secondary characters. A particularly noteworthy secondary character is her dad, who is the proprietor of the local pub, The Shipwreck.

Ms. Monroe has a knack for developing lead female characters who are independent, strong, and absolutely lovable. Stella is a character you can’t help but adore and root for. The instant attraction between Luke and Stella is obvious, and naturally, both find it difficult to follow the rules and keep everything professional. The angst leading to the story’s zenith is a bit contrived for us commoners, but not improbable for a once-bitten, twice-shy Hollywood type. The charming conclusion melted my heart.

Lila Monroe’s Mr. Casanova has “good bones” as contractor Stella would say, and the story’s “construction” is every bit as amazing as one of Stella’s remodels.

*Swoon* who would think that a hunky actor and a klutzy house renovator would be a match made in heaven? (Or at least a match made via an iron clad, water tight contract.)

Mr Casanova by Lila Monroe, is the fifth book in a series of stand alone rom-coms, based around a high class 'girlfriends for high' company. Whilst this featured a few of the previous characters their books do not need to have been read in order to enjoy or understand this story.

There was never any doubt, in my mind, that I would choose to read this book. Especially after having read the rest of this series, along with other works by the same author. Book #4 of the series also gave us a sneaky peak of Luke, and the catastrophe that his life had become, so I was already hooked and wanting to know more!

Having read a fair amount of this author's work, I've come to expect a well written, humorous adventure of a read. One with a wonderful charm captured inside it's pages, along with characters who appeal to and captivate you. Mr Casanova certainly didn't disappoint me, and quite simply I fell in love with Luke and Stella. Their personalities leapt off the page and turned a dull Sunday afternoon into something quite wonderful.

I would describe this as a 'warm and sweet' story. It was one that was fairly low on angst and had a real 'feel good' vibe to it. It has some very steamy moments, so is definitely an 18+ read, but doesn't have any triggers to upset a reader. It's a captivating book with a plot that flowed smoothly and a pace that held my attention.

Both Luke and Stella are immensely likeable characters. There was something about them that made it very easy to feel a connection. I found Luke surprisingly sweet and gentle, not the cocky full-of-himself actor one might have expected. In fact one of the things that I loved about this book was that it didn't allow it's characters or plot to fall into too many of the 'romance novel cliches' you often find.

The timeline of the book made their relationship and growing connection feel authentic. Not only that but Stella and Luke just naturally fit together, their being a couple just made sense. I truly believed in them both as individuals and as a partnership.

I was never tempted to skim or skip parts of this story. It was far too entertaining and so simple to read that there was no need to do so. The book is written first person and though it is mainly from Stella's POV, there are enough 'Luke chapters' to allow us to gauge the character of the man, and to understand his thoughts and feelings.

The entire Billionaire Bachelors series is one I would recommend. This isn't as emotional or angst-filled as some of them, that doesn't make it less of a story but just one that's ideal for when you want a gentler read.

In the midst of his failed marriage and now his reputation being shredded by the press, Luke Rafferty needs to get away from the toxicity of Hollywood. And buying a fixer upper in the Hamptons might be just the change he needs to escape the turmoil of his life in Los Angeles.

Stella Hartwick is a contractor who knows her stuff, but can't get the jobs to prove it. Overhearing a private conversation in which Luke expresses the need for a fake girlfriend has her thinking... he needs a girlfriend, she needs the renovation job... what could be better than a two for one deal?

From fake dates, to very real kisses, Luke and Stella set out to convince the world they love each other... but need to make sure they don't fall for each other instead...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This was a fun, light read with an entertaining fake relationship scenario that is the touchstone for the Billionaire Bachelors series. Luke and Stella's story was a classic movie star meets local girl and the growing pains that come with their vastly different lifestyles...
Stella has been working to build her renovation business back up since the loss of her business partner, and fiancée... due to him being a cheating jerk. Now he is her competition, and he lives for swooping in and taking her potential jobs. So when she bids on Luke's property, her landing this job is very important to her... and she prepared to be fully dedicated to the project.
Luke's ex-wife is making his life miserable, and slowly working to decimate his career. Looking for some solitude and a project to focus on, the house in the Hamptons seems like the perfect distraction. And then he meets the answer to his renovation... and reputation prayers.
Stella was a great character, with her love for her career being second only to her devotion to her town, she was a refreshing, no nonsense woman who has a great grasp on what is important in life.
Luke seemed like a typical Hollywood jerk, until Stella saw the man behind the tabloid stories. He was sincere and genuine, and she had to fight incredibly hard to keep herself from falling for him... but did it anyway...
While I really enjoyed this book, I felt like it was missing some much needed character development and a little more depth to Luke and Stella's relationship. I would have loved just more of EVERYTHING from this story as a whole.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
I would not be overstating it to say I think Ms. Monroe has been spying on my DVR most watched lists to bring together a bunch of things I love...a Lila Monroe book, HGTV type renos, complete with shiplap (hooray Chip & Joanna reference), cozy little beach towns, hilarious friends as side characters and ah, love. I fell hopelessly in love with Mr Casanova.
Stella is a general contractor and all around renovation expert. Staying competitive in a male dominated field is hard enough without her tool of a cheating ex trying to steal all her business. Every job she bids on, there he is and of course, because he's a guy, he's automatically more credible or something. A new job has just opened up on Stella's dream property. She fell in love with the house on Sandy Lane (despite it's current pornographic design scheme lol) and it definitely has nothing to do with it's new owner. Hunky, slightly tarnished Hollywood heartthrob, Luke Rafferty just purchased the beach getaway and needs a contractor in the worst way. It seems he also needs help renovating his image and who better to help with that than a renovation expert?
Luke Rafferty is on the tail end of a bitter Hollywood divorce, you know, the ones we see splashed across the pages of the glossies in the grocery store? Doesn't matter than none of the filth his cheating ex is spewing is actually true, the fickle fans love a good drama. Needing to get away and figure out what to do next, Luke buys the rickety, utterly ridiculous house on impulse. He's about to choose a contractor to deliver a perfectly predictable, cookie cutter bachelor pad when Stella walks in and basically propositions him! Stella is unlike anyone he's ever known; completely unaware of her own appeal, unassuming and humble, she's a good friend, a great businesswoman and the perfect choice to renovate his house and life.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Despite it being a tad predictable, I loved seeing Luke come into his own in the quiet little beach town. Stella was quirky and cool with a great Joanna Gaines vibe and her friends cracked me up. I'm also always happy to see some beloved characters from the other books in the series. Great read in the Billionaire Bachelor series!
4.5 SMOOCHES!
I really enjoy Lila Monroe’s romantic comedies, and I’ve read quite a few of them. She always balances out the heat in her stories with plenty of humor, keeping her plots entertaining without a lot of angst or unnecessary drama resulting in light-hearted, easy-reading romances. She pulls me right into the story with her vividly descriptive, detail-rich writing style. She threads those elements into creative plots that consistently produce fun and sexy romcoms that always provide me with an enjoyable reading experience.
Mr. Casanova is the fifth book in her Billionaire Bachelors series, and I was anxious to get my hands on it. I love HGTV, and the home renovation for a Hollywood heartthrob storyline piqued my interest right away. If this series is any indicator, Monroe clearly enjoys the fake relationship trope, and she’s done an incredible job coming up with original plots that were humorous and engaging. Mr. Casanova, like all the books in this series, is a standalone, and it’s not necessary to read the others to enjoy this one.
Luke Rafferty is Hollywood’s hottest leading man, or he was until his ex-wife took to the press with fabricated, scandalous details about their marriage. Now he can’t get a role, or even a return phone call, so he heads to the Hamptons to clear his mind and focus on something more productive—like renovating the house he just bought there. Something has to give with his career, though, and his PR rep has the perfect idea. Stella Hartwick is nursing her own relationship wounds as she deals with her cheating ex and former business partner who always seems to be one step ahead of her, both in his new relationship and in his new business built not only the knowledge he gained from Stella but also her reputation. She, too, needs a break, and she’s desperate enough for one to do pretty much anything, including posing as Luke Rafferty’s squeaky clean new girlfriend as she renovates his Hamptons estate.
I devoured Mr. Casanova in a day, laughing and loving it the whole way through. It was sexy, sweet and an amusing, pleasure-to-read. Another winner in a series full of them! Lila Monroe’s Mr. Casanova gets 4.5 smooches from me!
Goes down as another off my 2019 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book from a ‘one click buy’ author. What is it about going out on boat trips and getting stuck on islands? Sure leads to fun times to be had in the sun. If you are looking for fun, flirty, hot reads then this is the author for you.
So it seems that when someone needs a little helping hand in the ‘fake’ relationship area for good publicity Olivia always seems to be in just the right place at the right time. Case in point with how she meets Stella through some friends while visiting the Hamptons and suggests that she could help her out financially if she wished. She might say no at the time but the offer seemed to stick in her mind and made her suggest something she wouldn’t have thought when going in to bid on a new house renovation project.
Stella has her own contracting business to renovate houses but seems to be constantly outbid on projects. Wouldn’t be so bad if the person was actually good at what they did or that they were her cheating ex fiancé. She originally started a company with her ex – but after finding his head between another woman’s legs – that fell apart as well as their relationship. She now has her own business, Hartwick Constructions, but is having trouble getting steady work. The latest dream job project she is really gunning for is the Sandy Lane house; she just has to convince the new owner that she is the person for the job. That is if she can stop drooling over him first.
Luke is in a bit of hot water publicity wise with all the fake stories his ex wife Avery is spreading. His role as Dr Casanova in a TV series called Heartbreak Hospital is the main area that has been hit. The papers report he went off the deep end after his divorce from Avery but as we know with would be clients of the Agency not everything is as it seems. His manager Quinn wants him to set up a meeting to help with his image by way of a fake relationship but he is reluctant to agree.
This conversation just happens to be over heard by Stella. Who after picking her jaw off the floor when she realises Luke, aka Dr Casanova himself, is even sexier off the screen. Sees that they could help each other out in another quid pro quo situation. She could be the pretend girlfriend to make him seem reformed in the public eye with a sweet new love interest and in return her firm could handle the renovation. A contract to dream about, the house not the man of course – well that’s what she keeps telling herself anyway.
With these books it always comes down to the first ‘pretend’ kiss. That first small spark that ignites something neither were expecting but both soon start to really want. Mixing business and pleasure is most definitely on the cards from that point onwards. But with him being an actor is it all real or fake? Something I’m sure will be running through Stella’s head at times.
The tension and chemistry between them started slower, as this was all happening while Stella was renovating the house. It was there just below the surface waiting to be pulled forward. They seem electric when they are close to each other, drawn together like magnets. They just have to be careful of what, or who, might pull them apart.
The difference this time with the couple involved is that the press is going to follow their ‘love story’ at every opportunity. Is Stella going to be able to cope with the stories told? I have a feeling that not all will be good ones – or even real ones – when ex’s are involved. The thing is Luke knows to take those stories with a pinch of salt but can’t seem to do it. Sees red and then turns into an asshole. He needs to do a big gesture to fix the mess he’s created. If his bachelor friend Fitz and sister Zoey can see things clearly why can’t he? Words of wisdom need to be listened to.
Now Fitz is going to be an interesting one to follow next. All this time it seemed that The Agency only helped men but it does have some female clients too. Seems Fitz might be about to change his mind about signing up.
Another fun, heated read with interesting characters that all interlink in different ways. What’s not to love? I’d expect nothing less from Lila Monroe’s books.
I received a copy of this ARC from the author for my honest review.
I have read a few of Lila Monroe’s books and I have to say that I love her writing style, she knows how to write a gripping book with such an amazing plot. Being honest, this is the first book in this series that I have read, but even though it’s book five, I can still see that she has done an amazing job. If you’ve read some of her other books, then you’ll notice a character or two from other books written in and I love it when an author manages to bring back some other characters from previous books even though they aren’t the main characters, either way as long as it’s done right, then I seriously love it and Lila knows just how to do that. I honestly couldn’t find anything to fault with this book, I just wanted to keep going, seriously though, if you’ve not read any of these books you need to rectify that.
Stella is an amazing girl, she knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it, she loves doing anything that is to do with construction as she grew up surrounding by it. Her love life isn’t exactly heating up right now and whilst she is amazing at her job, she is struggling to find work due to her ex Rob, they built up a construction company from the bottom (thanks to Stella’s brains and hard work), but after they broke up thanks to Rob, she decided she couldn’t work with him anymore, so now she has to deal with trying to get jobs before he does otherwise he just steals them right from her. Working construction as a female can be pretty tough as the guys tend to look down on you and don’t think that you can handle it, but Stella likes to prove people wrong. When she gets the chance to prove to her ex that she is an amazing person and a lot better at what she does than he is, will it prove to be too much for her to handle or will she be able to prove him wrong?
Was this book the best I've ever read? No.
Was this book the one I won't ever forget? No.
Was this book the best Lila Monroe has written? No.
Was this book the best out of the series? No.
but...
Was it so good, that I couldn't even put it down? YES!
Was it perfect from page one to the last one? YES (Wait ---- no... the cover is perfect tooo! *drools*)
It made me smile.
It made me tingle.
It gave me anxiety
It made me change underwear - because the sexy scenes... they are sexy!
It made me cringe - in a good way!
It made my heart flutter.
It made me happy.
All in all - this book is like the others (in the series) perfect!
It was one of the stories.. which are nowadays already chlichés. We know exactly what will happen, how it will end etc. etc. But we still love the shit out of it. (At least I do) And even if you do not like them - You will for sure like this one. I would even bet my fav. books on that, because REAL TALK:
Lila Monroe is a gifted writer. Humour, Plot, Characters, Twist .... et cetera... everything's perfect.
She just knows it all. Her books are like the Chris Hemsworth of all books out there.
I'm not going, to sum up, the whole story for you... because where's the fun in that? More work for me - shittie for you, because you really would miss up on really good parts. SO go read the blurb.
So yeah... your credit card's tingling, right? :p
My rate: 4.9 out of 5! easily ;)
It's like a movie in your head while reading. This book is so easy to read and understand. And before you even know, you're finished and want to read it over and over again. I am so glad that I didn't miss out on this book. I am so glad that I gave it a chance. Books and stories like this one make me realize why I love reading this much.
Reviewing on behalf of Relentless Book Chics Ramblings and Reviews
A fun romance with a twist; I enjoyed the story.
I’m a big fan of this author and I’ve read all the previous books in the series so I was looking forward to reading book 5.
Stella Lane runs a home renovations company but usually loses out on the big projects because her ex gets the job by flirting with the wives. Now she has a chance at a huge renovation in the Hamptons for a famous actor but what does she have that will make her stand out above everyone else? Eavesdropping has its benefits and when she hears Luke needs to improve his reputation by being seen to be in a stable relationship, she volunteers for the job and her payment is she gets the renovation job so it’s a win/ win situation.
Luke Rafferty enjoys the fame he’s received from acting as a doctor on a tv series but the offers of work have dried up since his ex wife has ruined his reputation. Having a woman pose as his girlfriend seems a ludicrous idea but Luke finds that Stella has left a strong impression on him so he’s happy to go along with it. He’s determined to keep things professional between them but the more time they spend together, the stronger the attraction becomes and the lines between employer and employee are blurred.
When Luke reads something in the press about Stella he’s quick to believe it and leaves the Hamptons for LA. Will he realise the mistake he’s made before it’s too late and he loses the woman who owns his heart forever?
I enjoyed this story. Stella was a sassy and fun character and had a quirky personality and Luke was sweet and flirty. I would recommend this story and the previous books in the series.
Mr. Casanova is the 5th book in The Billionaire Bachelor series and it's one of my favorites by Lila Monroe. I'm a fan of this author and with every new release, I walk away from my Kinde a happy and satisfied reader. How could I not be when I find myself lost in a story of a beautiful woman who runs her own home renovations company needing to win over the business contract to remodel the beach homefront of Hollywood's most gorgeous bad boy?
Luke Rafferty needs to get away from the tabloids and the drama that his ex-wife is dragging him through. He may no longer be playing Dr. Casanova on screen and new contract negotiations have been hard to come by since his divorce but having an agent that doesn't give up, they are bound to come up with a plan or a fake relationship to help his career get back on track.
Stella Lane has been losing new renovation contracts to her ex-boyfriend and business partner. Stella knows that if she lands the big new contract from the new beachfront homeowner it would help get her business off the group and out of trouble. How will she be able to convince the new owner that she's perfect for the job?
I love everything about this story, it's fabulously written with the perfect amount of humor, sexual tension, and heart touching moments. It's easy to fall in love with these two wonderful strong characters with big hearts. The secondary characters tease of what's to come and others remind me of those I've fallen in love with from previous stories.
5 Stars Must Read!
Luke and Stella seem like a case of opposites attracting. She is a general contractor, and is no stranger to getting her hands - and the rest of her - dirty. Tired of losing out on contracting jobs because of her ex-husband's competing business (the fact that he's *not* a female general contractor seems to make people forget Stella is the better qualified), she proposes a crazy win-win scheme when she overhears Luke and his manager talking about his situation. And like the blurb says, they hit it off and sparks and drama ensue.
What I liked: Even though they are opposites, Luke and Stella seem to complement each other well. She brings him down to earth, and he softens her a little. They have a really good connection, and she's disinterested in the glitz and glamour enough to not care about who he knows or what he can give her.
What I didn't like: I've mentioned this before, but big pet peeves for me is when the conflict isn't handled well. It bugs me when it's either a huge conflict that's brushed over to get to the happily ever after, or when it's a small, simple misunderstanding that would be resolved with a five minute conversation normally that gets blown up and dragged on for the sake of drama. The latter is the case for this book. Luke would know better, after his experience of late, to trust anything in the tabloids. And he should know Stella enough by that point to believe her when she tells him the truth. Instead he throws a rich-boy temper tantrum and disappears on her.
All in all, it was a good book. I look forward to reading more in this series.
I loved this story. It was sweet, sexy, so romantic and funny. Everything I could possibly want and have come to expect from a Lila Monroe story.
I absolutely adore this Billionaire Bachelors Series, and each book is wonderful. Mr Casanova was no exception and Luke & Stella's story was perfect.
With Luke trying to get his image in a better light following a messy split from his ex-wife who is circulating all sorts of rubbish about him, plus his less than perfect ways in recent months, he needs to make improvements to his image and fast. He's losing work, and getting no new offers, and with a life in the limelight this is less than ideal.
Luke has also just bought a wonderful huge property in the Hamptons. Enter Stella, a wonderful character, full of sass and willing to get her hands dirty. Running her own reasonably successful firm, she still needs more work. Working in the same area as her ex is proving difficult. He is making life difficult for her, taking jobs pout from under her, and she just wants to be able to support her staff and get her teeth into something substantial.
When an unusual opportunity arises, Stella is quick to agree. This could make her career, and it could also turn around Luke's reputation too. But soon the sparks start to fly and keeping things strictly professional may prove to be far to difficult. The chemistry between these two characters is huge! I loved it and couldn't wait to see how this story was going to pan out.
Another wonderful rom-com from this fantastic author!
What a brilliant addition to the very successful Billionaire Bachelors Series, this may be book 5 but I certainly believe you could read this book as a stand-alone, off course I’m sure once you get into this series you will want to read each and every other book.
Stella Lane is the local home contractor in the Hamptons she is trying to built her business after her split with her Ex who also happened to be her business partner and at this stage she will take any job and do what ever is needed to win the contract so when she overhears a conversation she decides to jump in with both feet and do what is needed to get the job.......
Luke Rafferty a movie star who is hiding out in the Hamptons his ex-wife is hounding him and he needs to work on getting the bad boy publicity turned around and if he has any chance of getting back into making movies he needs a relationship that is perfect ... well Perfect is hard to find maybe a fake girlfriend will help to turn his life around.....
The attraction between Stella and Luke is instant, the chemistry is sizzling and the banter perfect but what happens when feelings come into play. This book has it all swoon worthy hero, loveable heroine and it’s a funny lighthearted read that gives you all the right feels. Lila Monroe is a very talented author and for me this is the best book in this series, so what are you waiting for you need to get your one click finger clicking......
After his two-timing, deceitful ex-wife had him thrown off the hit TV show,Heartbreak Hospital, Luke Rafferty, a.k.a Mr. Casanova leaves L.A and relocates to the Hamptons where he’s bought a rambling house that’s in serious need of a makeover.
Stella wants the job and she’s willing to do just about anything to get it.
Even pretend to be Luke’s new girlfriend!
It’s the perfect plan and Stella knows she can make it work, she just has to convince Luke.
Stella is a strong and independent woman, but she’s struggling with her business after her scheming ex-fiancé decided to take all her clients when they split up. Now he’s cutting her out of work too, and after he steals yet another job out from under her she’s about had enough.
Being under the spotlight of the paparazzi isn’t all it’s cracked up to be and Stella si soon feeling the weight of their constant intrusions, but while things with Luke might have started as pretend, it didn’t take long for them to become real.
These two share some scorching hot chemistry and before long, neither wants to give their fake romance up. Of course that’s when a wrench gets thrown in the works and their relationship stumbles. Will they be able to get back on track. Is there a red carpet in their future, or a long tv dinner for one?
I really enjoyed this story and am eager for more.
Oh wow this one is utterly amazing, couldn't put it down. Highly addictive. I don't know how Lila comes up with the amazing story and characters but I'm super excited for more.
Stella owns her own construction business, and has just gone through a rough break up. Her business is struggling as the her ex business partner keeps beating her to some of the until a famous face comes to town and buys a run down house which needs an overhaul.
Enter Luke Rafferty the famous Dr Casanova from a hit medical show until he breaks up with Avery his girlfriend but also his co-star and is also in bed with the executive producer of the show. He runs from the press to the Hamptons and buys a house. It needs alot of work and soo does his reputation. He's been told about The Agency and Olivia and he's on the fence until, a meeting with Stella about the house and she makes him an offer which surprises even herself.
Can they keep to the rules of the Agency or will they give into the chemistry. You can see the chemistry between them from their first encounter, I love how you see the story from both Luke and Stella's view. The way Lila makes you feel like you are a fly on the wall while reading the story is amazing. Highly recommend this series and the author, would recommend to start with the first book of the series as you get some background on some characters.
4.5 stars
I'm grateful to receive my 4th Lila Monroe ARC! Yes, 4th! Pretty awesome huh?
This book doesn't disappoint. Yes, the storyline of being in a fake arrangement isn't something we all haven't read before but this one has it's own uniqueness... mainly because I personally haven't read anything about a woman-contractor in a fake relationship with a movie star.
I was engrossed page after page, and the butterflies just kept on coming... It was an easy read—none of those overly dramatic and fancy paragraphs that would make describing a sunset as complicated as astrophysics. The main characters and the supporting ones are all relatable and lovable... and of course, the swoon factor is up there!
The story teaches you about overcoming your fears and to not let your heartbreak break you... that there's hope as long as you're willing to try and take a chance.
I wish there was a longer epilogue about them starting a family or whatever... I wish Stella made Luke work more for it or at least there was a formidable competition for Stella's heart... I know I'm not the writer but I would've wanted a wee bit of a love triangle... lol anyway.....
It's funny and light and it's something you'd wanna read after a long days work.
A funny, flirty, sweet and sexy story, this author has a new fan
Billionaire Bachelors Book 5, this was my first book in the series. I knew going in this was a part of a series (and would have figured it out anyway from a few paired up secondary characters) but this absolutely worked well as a stand-alone.
A new to me author who has been on my TBR for a while now, I wasn’t sure quite what to expect so I was a little surprised at how quickly I was pulled into the story (boy, did I hate Rob right away!). I loved the setup here; fake boyfriend is one of my favorite tropes and Stella and Luke are great characters who each have some baggage from previous relationships to work through. I loved the humor (often sarcastic but never over the top for me) as well as the chemistry Luke and Stella had.
The story moved quickly, easily keeping me engaged and I read it in one sitting. One caveat I do have is that the resolution felt just a little too simple and easy for me, but it’s really relatively minor.
A funny, flirty, sweet and sexy story, this author has a new fan. I loved the little bit of a hook for Fitz’s story, so I’m looking forward to reading that as well as reading the earlier books in this series. 4.5 stars
Luke Rafferty aka Mr Casanova had the life many people dream of until his scheming ex decides to tarnish his name and he becomes an outcast.
He tucks his tail between his legs and scampers off to the Hamptons where he meets the beautiful,independent and extremely talented contractor Stella.
I love how Lila writes her leading ladies as strong independent takes no prisoners but always has a warm loyal side too.
Stella is the perfect leading lady to Luke.
Their chemistry, their banter and their ease with one another is perfect.
Fake can become very real and nothing feels more real than the love these two share.
There's a couple of sharp turns where things get thrown in to disturb the peace but things will always work out if you love someone enough to put up with their crazy.
I absolutely love this book and how Lila's words always pull you in and before you know it you've read the book in one sitting.
Mr Casanova is a fantastic 4.5 star book that will really get your heart racing and begging for more.
I need to hear the pitter patter of Rafferty babies asap.
I loved reading this book and I highly recommend you one click it as soon as you can.
This is the fifth installment of the Billionaire Bachelor series that is centered on Olivia Chambers’ agency that provides appropriate companions to the rich and famous. Need a fake fiancé to get the get an inheritance ? Need a girlfriend to convince the world you are stable? Olivia can help you out. One strict rule is no hanky-panky (though that rule is continually broken). This story centers around Luke Rafferty, aka Dr Casanova, former star of a hit TV medical show. He has gone through a messy divorce with his former costar, where the tabloid press has been printing untrue rumors about him. These stories are making him unemployable. Stella Lane is a contractor in the Hamptons. She desperately wants to renovate Luke’s fixer-upper of a mansion. With Olivia’s help, they eventually come to an agreement that helps them both out, Luke gets the fake girlfriend to rehab his image and Stella gets to rehab her dream house and free pr for her firm. Like all of Lila Monroe’s books, this has a lot of humor and great characters. This was a thoroughly enjoyable book. I received an ARC of this book from the author for my honest review.
Mr Casanova is the 5th book in the Billionaire Bachelors series, finding love when you had given up and showing the population that woman are just as good, if not better than men at their job sometimes.
Luke is reeling from his divorce and the collapse of his very public career, he has moved to the Hamptons to get away from the public eye, but when he his management insist he finds himself a fake girlfriend to fix his image issues he can only think of one woman that fills that spot, the cute contractor. Stella is determined to prove herself to everyone that she is the brains behind the company, when she accepts the contract she finds herself in the spotlight and her work splashed across a very successful magazine everything changes. Now the light is shining on her will her time with Luke fade away?
Personally, this wasn’t my favourite from Monroe, I am a huge fan of her writing and this book didn’t catch me like I thought it would. Having read the previous books in the series I hope that the next instalment heats up and leaves me wanting more.
This is the 5th book in the Billionaire Bachelors series. They are stand alones, so if you haven’t read the others, that’s okay. I haven’t read the first 2 books in the series yet. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything from them pertaining to the stories that I have read.
This is Luke Rafferty’s story. He was “Dr. Casanova” on a show called Heartbreak Hospital. He was the hot actor, on top of the world and married to his co-star. Until he caught her cheating and she lied to media and dragged him through the mud.
He finds himself in the Hamptons.
Stella is a general contractor. She loves rehabbing old houses, and she’s great at it. She’s gone through a messy break up with a cheater also.
I loved both of the characters. Luke isn’t the stereotypical Hollywood actor. There is so much more to him than that. He is down to earth and just a really great guy.
Stella is a strong woman. She runs her own business, even if it isn’t booming at the start of the book. But she’s smart and caring.
I love how this was a “fake” girlfriend where feelings turned real.
These are great books. You can’t go wrong with them.
Is there anything better than a hunky actor trying to get his life back on track?
Well, when it comes to Luke Rafferty, I’m going to have to say no. There is nothing better. Though he may get a bad rap, this man is all kinds of swoony. He’s everything you’d expect a Hollywood heartthrob to be, except without all that annoying ego that typically gets in the way. He’s down to earth, surprisingly sweet, and oozes charm. And did I say hunky? Because that word doesn’t do him justice.
I’m in love with Stella! She’s a classic Lila Monroe heroine - so real, so relatable, with a spitfire personality, and a whole lot of sass. She might be in over her head, but she’ll never show it. She’s the consummate professional when she needs to be and a hot mess when she deserves to be. I adored her!
Stella and Luke had chemistry in spades. They were witty, sexy, sweet, and all the emotions in between. I fell in love with not only them, but their friends as well. It was a great, fun, well-rounded story. I really enjoyed this newest installment of the Billionaire Bachelors series. I highly recommend this book, and all the others that came before it!
