Coming Up Roses (Southern Roots) Kindle Edition
Then she meets Cash Carson.
Reeling from a bad breakup, Cash has sworn off love. It led to nothing but pain and misery, and he’s determined to move forward alone.
Until a redheaded Southern beauty crashes into him. With her shopping cart. At the local Piggly Wiggly.
If love wasn't for him, why did his heart beat a little faster every time Myla Rose sent that sweet smile his way?
He was no knight, and she didn't need saving.
But damn if he didn't want to try anyway.
COMING UP ROSES is a sweet, Southern fairy tale—with a twist.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2017LK Farlow’s debut novel, Coming Up Roses, Southern Roots #1, is a small town romance that will have you looking for your next fix of sugar after finishing because it’s that sweet.
Myla Rose is a southern girl through and through. Abandoned by her Mother and brought up by her Grams, she takes life head on. So, when she finds herself pregnant by a truly conceited, entitled jerk, she does what she has to. She moves forward with the knowledge that she will be a single mother.
Cash has had his share of woman trouble and is not looking for anything or anyone new in his life. A run in with Myla at the Piggly Wiggly has him rethinking that stance. Cash is a true southern gentleman and will make your heart beat a little faster and have you fanning yourself saying “Oh my”.
Reading about Myla and Cash’s journey was heartwarming and humorous. Helping the story along are friends of each that are examples of true southern men and women.
Ms. Farlow’s writing is creative and true. Her character development was outstanding. This is a debut novel that will be recommended over and over again. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series.

Personally, I am not normally one to read New Adult due to the immature actions/reactions, angst, and unnecessary drama that tend to come along with it and while Myla Rose and Cash were mostly mature enough, there was still plenty of angst and drama. That said, my biggest problem with this story is that everywhere I’ve lived, a salon employee (especially one doing color treatments) has to hold a certification in cosmetology, yet Myla is described as a 19 or 20-year-old high school dropout that is not only one of the stylists, but co-owns the shop with her best friend of same/similar age.
That all said, I liked both of the lead characters, their friends, even most of his family. The plot was sweet and the Southern Charm was endearing. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I enjoyed her writing style, it was smooth and the story was well-paced and flowed nicely. There many incidents of miscommunication or wrong assumptions made by one or the other lead that led to several bumps in the road that could have easily been avoided but, hey, like I’d mentioned earlier… “New Adult”. It was expected and did not let me down in that regard.
All in all, predictability was low and the conclusion was solid.
I did enjoy the book for the story it told and would consider reading the other books in the series.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2018This book was everything I could’ve hoped for and more! This showed the ups and downs, curves and straights that come with relationships especially a relationship that includes a baby.
This had me cheering, trying to hide in my blankets, nearly reaching for tissues and my heart racing with excitement and glee. This author really knows how to get you connected to the character, I felt like I was experiencing it as the character or along side the character.
I gave this five stars because it deserved more than Five, I’d say at least ten stars, but all I can give is five but I’m certain anyone would love this book, it’s not on the smutty side, it only has one ‘sex scene’ if you can call it that, it’s more eluding to the fact that it happened than anything which gives this story even more props because it wasn’t ridiculous or raunchy, it had just the right amount of everything. Thank you for keeping it classy and keeping it real! I can’t wait to read the other books of this series or any other story by this author because it’s so genuine, real and greatly written. Keep up the great work!!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2020I loved LK’s Rebel series so I thought I would check out her other books. Coming Up Roses appears to be her debut book and the first in her Southern Roots Series. I really enjoyed it, it was a sweet southern romance. A dash of angst with a whole lot of charm!
Myla Rose was on her own yet again but that wasn’t going to stop her. She was fierce, determined and could do anything she put her mind to. She didn’t need a man in her life, well, until she tried to run one over with her shopping cart.
Cash had just moved to be closer to family after a bad break up. He figured he would lay low and get back on his feet before figuring out the next chapter of his life. But when a woman came crashing into his life, would he be able to stop fate?
Cash and Myla Rose were very cute together, I felt myself smiling a lot. I appreciated Cash’s good nature and how his emotions proved he was human. I also loved the banter of Azalea and Drake! I can’t wait to read their story next!!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2018Coming Up Roses is an unusual story where a young woman tells her boyfriend she's pregnant and he tells her he doesn't want her or the baby. Ok, not so unusual yet. She decided she would raise the baby on her own. She doesn't need a man. I liked how she was going to handle it herself. And she had lots of great friends who had her back. She doesn't want anything to do with the new man in town who is enamored with her and wants to help her any way he can.
This is a sweet romance with some spice and great characters. Some you wanted to hug and some you wanted to slap upside the head. I loved this young woman and was hoping everything would work out for her. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like sweet romances with a few chuckles and a bit of spice.

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing start to an amazing series...
I loved this book. Cash and Mila Rose ..sigh!!!!!!!! Really reading this book made me wish to have my own southern hottie😎.. Mila rose...such a pretty name. What I love about her is she's a sweet girl yet she's a strong woman too. Single, pregnant, yet she handles everything with such amazing strength . Cash!!!!sigh!!!!! He's such a sweetheart though. Even though he has his flaws yet he falls for Mila rose with everything that he has. Then there this amazing group of friends that Mila rose has and they ARE JUST SUPER AMAZING. 5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect story for anyone who’s ever had their heart broken
The depth of pain, mistrust, hurt and love is just perfectly written in this story, and for anyone that has ever had their heart broken and thinks they can never trust again, well this is the perfect story for you. L.K. has done a stellar job of building that connection of mending a broken heart. These are the most perfect characters, Myla Rose with her sweet, feisty and fragile personality is just so delightfully written, Cash is that rugged man we all want that will fight to protect us, but will hold you close and comfort you when you need it most.
Cash has had his heart torn out by a woman he had planned to marry, Myla Rose is pregnant to a man who refuses to acknowledge the baby, but together they need to work out if they can trust again, or will one big lie tear them apart.

4.0 out of 5 stars Grundsätzlich eine süße Geschichte mit Herzschmerz
