Rate this book

A fun, sweet, and sexy romance with a swoon-worthy rockstar and a single mom that will make your heart burst with happiness.

Rockstar Hudson Mitchell is over the glitz and spotlight of the music industry. Desperate for a break from the fast-paced life of fame, he retreats to the one place that has always been home.

Brooksville, California.

It's the same place where Charlie has taken refuge, trying to build a life for herself and her young daughter. The quiet, small-town atmosphere and her new bakery venture are exactly what she needs to pick up the pieces of her shattered past.

As they spend more time together, neither of them is prepared for the effect Charlie has on Hudson, and how important she would become for his career.

A love story with unexpected twists and turns that will make you swoon over Charlie's sweet charisma and Hudson's warm heart...

After coming back from reading a dark romance, a change of pace was needed for sure. Thank the heavens I had this beauty waiting for me ready to be devoured and snuggled with. I was hooked the instant I read the words "rockstar" and "single mother" because my weakness for single parents romances are always up there as my favorite tropes. And after encountering new authors and taking the risk of reading their novels, I just know I will keep it flowing with Jasmin's writing. The sweetness and that touch of alpha male possessiveness if present, and my readers, you know how much I love me a jealous alpha. And with Hudson there is nothing more than just love and passion towards the ones he cares for and also his music.

Right off the bat, we know that Charlie is a single mother of a cute and adorable baby girl. She is also in the midst of opening her own bakery after rebuilding her life once again from a tragic past. A past in which she is very delicate about sharing with others. After the tragedy that happened to her, she found comfort in Hannah. A widowed old lady who lives by herself and was friends with Charlie's grandmother who was like a mother to her. When she moves in with Hannah, she is hesitant at first because she knows she does not want to bother anyone or intrude anyone's time. Hannah has non of it and brings her to the comfort of her home. Instantly she is in love with Mira, Charlie's baby girl. I mean, who wouldn't be after the way Jasmin describes her? That's when we also meet Hudson. The single rockstar who is looking to move farther away from the celebrity scene for a while for the sake of getting hit with inspiration for his next big hits. When he meets Charlie and Mira, and sees that they are both living in his house... Oh yeah, did I forget to mention Hannah is Hudson's grandmother? Well yeah, and they are all now living together. Do you think it bothers Hudson? On the contrary! He is in love with the idea, because the moment he sees Hannah, inspiration hits him to write and write more and more music. The melody is there, the rhythm is hitting him hard, and he knows that he cannot be far away from her. So when he asks Charlie to stay living in his house for the sake of her being his muse, Charlie feels like its a bad idea. But why try to play with temptation when we all know it always wins?

When the truth comes out, Charlie must learn that opening her heart to Hudson will be a risk that she is willing to take. We don't get a point of view coming from Hudson. The novel overall is written in the first point of view of Charlie's, so the inner thoughts coming from Hudson are not described. But in some way it was refreshing to read something from just the female's point of view. Her inner battles are what makes Charlie an ideal character to have an inner connection because of her past, it has made her into a strong individual who has lots of potential of striving in the world. With the help of Hudson, she knows that having a friendship is better than having nothing. But Hudson is having none of that. All he wants is to have Charlie as his, and his only. That possessive side of him is what makes me swoon, but also his love for baby Mira is what makes the reader swoon even more.

Overall, I am glad I gave this novel a chance because now I am actually hyped to see if we get Gabe's (Hudson's brother) and Mo's (Charlie's best friend) story because those two are a mystery that needs to be revealed. Especially now that they live close to each other. Thank you so much to Jasmin Miller for allowing me to read an advance copy of her beauty, I am utterly excited for everyone else to enjoy this cup of tea that concludes of Charlie and Hudson. Do not miss out on this rockstar that will melt you away with music, and his warm heart.

Baking With A Rockstar is my first introduction to the author, Jasmin Miller. First, let’s all gaze at this adorable cover! I feel like this cover pretty well depicts these two characters. They were both adorably sweet, as was their story!

Charlotte (Charlie) Peterson’s life was pretty much turned upside down a year ago in New York. Her grandmother’s best friend, Hannah, came to her rescue and moved Charlie and her baby daughter, Mirabelle (Mira) to Brooksville, California where she lived, to start over. Charlie had always dreamed of starting her own bakery. Let me tell you, this woman can bake. This book is filled with descriptions of what she is making so I am warning you not to read this hungry. Hannah’s kitchen is undergoing some renovations so Hannah, Charlie and Mira are staying at the home at what Hannah says is a friend of hers, who is out of town. When said friend unexpectedly returns, Charlie is faced with the hottest man she has ever seen. She doesn’t even recognize him, maybe because she is so busy staring at his abs since he is shirtless! But when Hannah finally introduces them, he turns out to be her grandson who is also a very famous rock star!

cookies baking

Hudson Mitchell is not your usual rock star. He doesn’t enjoy life in the public. After a nasty break up, Hudson just hasn’t been able to turn things back around. He writes his own music but the words and notes just aren’t coming. He needs to go home to Brooksville for some peace and quiet and some quality time with his family. The surprise was on him, though, when he walked into his house to find his grandmother living there along with a beautiful woman baking in his kitchen along with her adorable little baby girl. Hudson is smitten from the start, with both of them.

“Everything is better with cupcakes.”

Something about Charlie seems to be the balm that Hudson needed. Having her there makes his house a home with the kitchen constantly filled with delicious smells, to the love and laughter between her and her baby girl. Not only is Hudson drawn to Charlie, there is an immediate bond between he and little Mira. She instantly has him wrapped around her little finger. These two were so cute together. Hudson truly loved the time he spent with this little baby. And talk about swoony. Famous hot rock star cuddling with cute ten month old baby? Most definitely swoony.

Charlie and Hudson spend almost all of their time together as Hudson helps her with getting the bakery ready to open. They grow closer every day but it is evident to Hudson that she has been hurt and has a story to tell. This man is so patient. He takes things very slow. He doesn’t want to scare her away. But he knows what he wants, and he will do whatever is necessary to show her that he’s in this, that he cares about her, that she will be safe with him. But he has a story to tell as well! A story that greatly affects the fragile bond that they are forming.

“If you never do anything you’re scared of, you’ll never truly live either. And you, my friend, deserve to live life to the fullest.”

Daddy and baby

This was such a sweet story. Hudson was just so wonderful with both Charlie and Mira. I loved his family as well. We also meet Charlie’s best friend Monique (Mo.) She was so much fun. I did enjoy that the author slowly revealed Charlie’s story. I was pretty surprised when I learned the details of what happened. There were a few times when I felt like things could have moved along a little bit faster. I did enjoy this, though. These two were so perfect for one another. And little Mira was a scene stealer. Actually, whenever Mira and Hudson were together, I would pretty much just melt! I love epilogues and I do want to also mention that this had the sweetest epilogue. It was the perfect ending! So if you enjoy single mother romances with swoony rock star heroes, this story is for you.

forever

Baking with a Rockstar has got to be the sweetest rockstar romance I’ve ever read. Usually when I hear a book is a rockstar romance I think, sex drugs and rock and roll. This book was not like that at all. This rockstar was swoony, sweet, and had a heart of gold.

Charlie is a single mother who is venturing out to open her own bakery. She’s getting a little help and staying with her grandma’s best friend. All is going well, till she meets the man who owns the house she’s living in. Her friend’s grandson and famous rockstar, Hudson Mitchell.

Hudson is taking a much needed break from the road and recording and getting some r&r in his small town. He doesn’t expect to find Charlie and her daughter living at his place, albeit temporarily. Hudson is enamored with Charlie and baby Mira and ends up helping her with her bakery.

Hudson was seriously the sweetest. This book was low on the steam, but heavy on the swoon-worthy romance. I loved that it wasn’t completely predictable, there was actually a twist about Charlie that surprised me. I really enjoyed the writing and the story and I’m hoping we get a book about Hudson’s brother Gabe and Charlie’s bestie Monica! I would love to read that!

If you’re in the a fan of single parent books or are in the mood for a sweet romance that will lift your spirits and put a smile on your face, pick up Baking with a Rockstar!!
“Love is a gift we should enjoy as much as we possibly can when we’re given it. Take it as it is—one of the best and most beautiful things that can ever happen to you if you find the right person.”

Oooohhhhh I sure did enjoy reading this book!

Baking with a rockstar was such an adorable read. This was honest a sweet book throughout.

I won't consider this book a true 'rockstar romance' besides the fact that Hudson is a musical hotshot.
Truth of the matter is, Baking with a Rockstar felt more like a small town romance story between a single mom with the world's cutest baby and a rocker that is to-die-for. And not much ROCKSTAR romance that I am used to.

This book was a true romcom....almost a hallmark movie type with a HUGE 'almost R' rated type. Get my drift? No Hallmark movie had angst filled / sexy attraction scenes like this. lol!
But I say Hallmark because the entire storyline was CUTE.
There were so many adorable moments but it also had a lot of fun- sexy chemistry. I mean, sure..I may have given a whole lot of *eye rolls* at the beginning with all that Insta-love scene where the cynic in me just couldn't help it with all that 'cheese'.
BUT! The romantic in me prevailed because the romance in this book was just so sweet. I couldn't stop smiling!

So if you are in the lookout for a cute romance without much drama, Baking With A Rockstar is it. This book is honestly such a feel good movie... It's romantic, adorably sweet and hey! It has a baker, a baby and a rockstar. what more could you ask for, right?

Happy Reading!

A perfectly sweet treat…

I had my own version of Baking with a Rockstar today. I love my baking days and it was a Snickerdoodles and choc chip/M&M cookies, listening to Pearl Jam and the Foo Fighters kind of day. For me, it’s a chance to shut out the world, put my headphones on and bake yummy treats. It’s a win-win in our household, my boys leave me to my baking therapy, and they get sweet treats at the end. I completely understood Charlie’s passion for baking, and I agreed with her that it’s therapeutic and relaxing.

So, Baking with a Rockstar playing in my ear definitely put me in the right zone. Now, to be honest, I don’t think I had the right Rockstar in my ear, though. I was listening to sex, drugs and rock and roll, and I was reading the sweetest Rockstar possible. I’m not saying Eddie Vedder or Dave Grohl can’t be sweet, but I honestly couldn’t picture either of them being as sweet as Hudson. I guess I expect rockstars to be a little jaded, self-absorbed and distracted.

I think there’s a fine line between perfect for each other and too perfect, bordering on unrealistic. At times I felt Hudson was a little too perfect. He was patient, kind, sweet and thoughtful towards Charlie and Mira. There seemed to be no hesitation whatsoever when it came to accepting that Mira was Charlie’s focus. He stepped up to the plate so quickly when it came to caring for Mira and including her in Charlie and his future, I couldn’t help but question it. It was all just a little too easy and “happy families” too quickly.

For the first half of Baking with a Rockstar, I know I was pulling a sour lemon face and my eyes may have rolled a time or two. Frankly, I’m a wee bit disappointed in myself. I pegged it all wrong by judging Charlie in an unfair way. I was convinced I knew all about her and judged her for being a silly, irresponsible and naïve woman. I had a bit of a WOW moment that made me stop reading and reflect on my narrow-minded and judgemental ways. This significant moment when a few things were explained, changed the whole book for me. I couldn’t help but look at Charlie differently and the twist in my reading journey made me enjoy the story even more.

This is not an overly steamy book and I was even starting to think it was going to be a clean, slam the bedroom door in my face (THE HORROR!!!) kind of story. There is an intimate scene or two, but they were tame and took a long time to get there. What was lacking in steam was made up for with sweet gestures, thoughtfulness and consideration. Hudson was all about the romantic gestures, affectionate kisses and the connection. It was very sweet.

If you're a fan of stories with a single-parent finding love or looking for the sweetest Rockstar in history, I highly suggest giving it a try. I enjoyed reading Baking with a Rockstar and I look forward to reading more from Jasmin Miller in the future.

Wow! I really loved Charlie and Hudson! They each had suffered some pretty rough times in the past and both of them were trying to find their footing as they moved into an uncertain future. What neither of them realized was that with one doughy encounter their lives would be changed forever.

description

This book had so much humor and heart. Charlie was such a fun quirky heroine. She tended to mumble to herself and indulge in too much cake while working through her troubles. Pretty much just like I do. Hudson is the type of guy that will stand up for you and is also pretty open about expressing himself in a manner that is real to life. Add in an adorable baby girl and plenty of scenes where the hero is caring for her or interacting with her and my ovaries were exploding. In other words, Hudson was totally swoon worthy.

description

This is a lengthier book and yes, I must confess, there were a few places I skimmed. I felt that there were places that could have been tightened up a bit or cut down to sharpen the message of the scene. However, there are some terrific secondary characters, some I assume we will be seeing more from in the future. With a bit of a slow burn to it, the steam was a low level but when these two finally get together things definitely heated up.

Overall, I enjoyed the heck out of this one and I’m looking forward to more from this new author.

Heroine POV – would’ve liked to have had some in the hero’s as it was harder to connect to him

Charlie was left by her idiot fiancé about a year ago. Now she packed up her sweet 10 month old daugher Mirabelle and fled all the way to California - to live with the bestie of her late grandma. And because she's getting all the babysitting help from Hannah, she can finally fulfill her dream of her own bakery.

Enter Hudson. He's a super famous rockstar. But he's kinda sick of the whole Hollywood/Celebrity lifestyle at the moment - he's lost his muse. Time to go back to his hometown for a while.

Turns out his house is already used by three women!!!

Let the fun times begin! ☺

Well, that was adorable!!!!

I'm such a huge rockstar romance fan - and while we're not really rocking it at all here, since it's more of a small-town romance thingy - we're still able to swoon over this hottie rocker!

I adored all those super adorable baby and rockstar moments! Sooo cute!

description

Of course everything is not immediately perfect for Charlie and Hudson - there are some past problems to overcome ... but we enjoy every moment of the journey to their happily ever after!

A few little things that bothered me a bit. It was a bit too insta for my tastes. They meet and a few pages later they're kinda in love already and nothing happened between them - at least we don't see much happening because the story always fast forwards a few days and we miss things like chemistry and falling and ... no idea - it felt a bit rushed from not knowing each other to living with each other to be in love. Nothing is really dealt with or talked about. It felt a bit weird.

Also ... I didn't love the constant apologizing Charlie does. I get that she had a bad experience with her last guy, but once or twice is enough. And Hudson gets it. He sees that something happened to her. And through all her weird behavior Hudson appears a tiny bit too soft for my tastes, because he always answers so sweetly. Like a kindergarten teacher would talk to a 4 year old. Their conversations sound kind of weird and they turn this rocker into a too-soft-softie. Which is okay, I guess, because the whole rockstar thing from the title is only that - a title. He's not really much of a rockstar to be honest. Even the guy on the cover is not at all the sexy rockstar I was hoping for. It's a cute cover - like the story - it's all very cute and sweet and tame and very safe for work.
Hudson's 25 and dreams of things other 35 years old guys don't yet dream of. The whole age thing in the book is a bit too young for me. They are 23 and 25. If Jasmin wouldn't have told us their ages, I would've guessed them to be in their early to mid thirties!!!!!! So weird!☺

But the story is really cute - Hudson's family is amazing. His ex is obviously coming back to make some trouble and Charlie's past has also yet to be discussed. Even though they don't really deal with those two problems all that much or as exciting as it could've been dealt with - it all just disappears after a tiny bit of excitement.

But still ... it was a really ADORABLE and funny and very sweet Baby-Baker-Rockstar-Small-Town-Romance!

I enjoyed reading it and I can't wait to read Gabe & Monica's book next!

A little fun fact - I read one sentence in the book and thought huh? What? Is Jasmin German? And it turns out she is! LOL! I can't remember where that sentence was but it was soo german - like literally translated from german into english. Which is not something you can do if your name is not google translate. (Spoiler alert Mr. Google Translator can't do it either but he does all the time and people just use the sh*t he translates! Ugh!) It was totally understandable in english but the grammar and the order of the words were 100% german and not english. ☺ Grrr I'm mad at myself for not highlighting it!!! I wanted to show you guys! ☺

Really liked it!

I loved Charlie and Hudson. This story was so sweet and so different from other rockstar romances I’ve read. Its fresh and real. Hudson is so amazing! He’s not your typical rockstar (or what we´ve come to expect from a rockstar in romance) and I appreciate that so much! He’s sweet, sexy and swoon worthy. Charlie was great too, and her baby Mira was the cutest.

This was such a cute story! I had a great time reading it and highly recommend it if you are looking for a fun, sweet, low heat, low angst romance.

Y’all I loved this book. It’s not your typical “rock star” book. It was a slow burn but so sweet Hudson wow he’s every woman’s dream. And Charlie I could see being friends with her. She’s so down to earth. Not often do I get actual butterflies when reading but this one I totally did. And surprises things I didn’t even see coming. So great can’t wait to see if we get more of Hudson’s family. So glad I took a chance on this author this is the first book I’ve read of hers and I can say I am NOW A FAN!!

A very sweet romantic story with likeable characters.
The plot was solid but too mellow. The angst was lacking and both main characters were too cute for me...
The cover was amazing!

Jasmin Miller is going to be a “one to watch” author. She has come out of nowhere with her beautiful words and I think she is definitely going to be on my must read list.
I’m all about the single mum romances at the moment, and this book was just perfect. Add in a swoon worthy rockstar and it just keeps getting better. Charlie and Hudson had incredible chemistry and little Mira will make you melt!

Sweet, sexy and funny! This is a rockstar romance that had me SWOONING and LAUGHING! Add the fact that this book also satisfied my cake addiction and we end up with a seriuously fun read!

Hudson and Charlie meet rather unexpectantly but they fall into a comfortable relationship right away. He helps Charlie with the opening of her bakery in exchange for spending time with her as she is a bit of a muse for him. Their friendship felt so natural but the undercurrent of sexual attraction and chemistry was always there building a sweet anticipation. Their banter was fun and sexy. I particularly found Charlie's inner musings and lack of a filter from brain to mouth quite amusing.

Now, I have to talk about Hudson's interactions with Mira, Charlie's daughter. Ladies get ready for a SWOON-FEST! My heart and ovaries could hardly handle it! The way this larger than life, sex symbol of a rockstar doted and cared for a child that was not even his, was just about the most adorable and sexiest thing ever. He was such a sweet, caring man who put both Charlie and Mira's needs first and you cannot help but fall for him.

Hudson makes his intentions for Charlie very clear from the beginning but his past and her own secrets make her afraid to put herself fully out there. There relationship from friendship to lovers was gradual but realistic. When they finally became a couple, it made it even more satisfying.

I loved all the secondary characters including Hudson's family and Charlie's best friend Monica who I hope will get her own book because she was a hoot! Overall, a sweet and sexy romance with a swoon worthy rockstar that I recommend for a great, fun read.

Charlie is staying with Hannah, an old lady who helps her open her bakery. She's taking care of her sweet little baby, Mira, who's definitely stealing hearts.

One day she meets Hudson , the famous rockstar who's back in his hometown in need to stay away from all the publicity and lay low for a little while. Hudson is also willing to help Charlie in any way possible and the three of them (baby Mira included) grow closer.

As soon as I read the synopsis of this book, I knew I wanted to read it!! Single mom meets rockstar? Hell yeah! But this book was nothing like I expected. I kept waiting to see stereotypical things you usually see in romance books, but nope. Let's not talk about the cliche I waited to see, but never did. And this is EXCELLENT! I honestly mean it, that you hear rockstar and expect to see the brooding, flirty, guy who curses and has addictions, many girls on their sleeves, but Hudson was NOTHING like that! Such a fresh breath of the interpretation of this meaning. There are more I'd like to point out , but I surely don't want to spoil.

Seeing them together like this has become an almost daily occurence, making it nearly impossible to imagine a life without any of it.

So, do yourselves a favor and grab this book and read it! Especially if you love babies and single parent books! It's so adorable and even though at first it felt like an insta love, it was a slow burn and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Based on the first few pages of this book, you know baking is going to be heavily involved, which of course I'm all for... Because cake. I like cake. My only issue with all of this was that I wanted to taste test all of the scrumptious treats Charlie was making and I couldn't.

I first read a sample of this book before deciding to go all in, and I was absolutely reading it on my lunch break at work. It's a safe bet to tell you (though I'll deny it to my coworkers), that I snorted at the meet cute between these two main characters, so of course then I needed to pick up the book and read he rest!

Plot wise, this story is just so sweet. Like your favourite chocolate cake with thick, decadent icing (Did I mention I like cake?). It's comforting, like a blanket on a chilly winters day. It'll warm you up and make you feel good like chicken noodle soup when you're sick. Plus, it'll make you want to run to the closest grocery store and buy the entire dessert section.

If absolutely nothing else, this book just makes me want to release a happy sigh as I flip the last page. It was satisfying and just what the author promised based on the blurb. It's a beautiful little love story about two people finding their other half. There's no malicious, crazy drama. No months of despair. Just a simple, sweet, and complete love story.

Just a small note on all the secondary characters, I was a little worried about the welcome Charlie would get and the acceptance from everyone right off the bat. I worried for our girl. But between Monica, Charlie's best friend, and the entire Mitchell family, I just wanted to hug them all. Such great characters each with a good head on their shoulders. Warm. Welcoming. Genuinely nice. Though I spy maybe a book coming with Gabe and Monica... I'm all for it!

If there's one trope I can't seem to ever shy away from, it's rockstars. I love their possible cocky personas, hard exteriors, and bad boy ways. Now Hudson wasn't your typical rocker. He was through and through a good guy from start to end. So while we didn't have a reformed bad boy in our hands (and all the drama that comes with), we got to see a great man, fall for an incredibly charming and amazing heroine, and watch as their story unfolded.

Overall this is an easy, relatively light read. Maybe a good pick for a vacation or a beach, or a time where you just want to shut your brain off for a few hours and indulge. Baking With a Rockstar will be your treat!

Rockstar Hudson Mitchell has come home for some downtime, expecting no one else but his grandmother, so he is a little surprised to find two houseguests – baker Charlie and her little girl, and so begins a slow burn romance.

Charlie’s baby daughter - Mirabelle (Mira) was simply adorable and the scenes with her some of the best. The author did well in depicting her.

The drama with Hudson’s ex was just meh, and didn’t add much to the story, and using the ex as a reason to

The past with Charlie’s ex-fiancé, that was anticlimactic – I was expecting something more sinister and emotive, especially due to what the author implies in the first half of the book.

This was an ok light read, with the hero being super sweet and down to earth, however for me the writing wasn’t smooth and at times it felt a little awkward – stopping me from sinking into the read and characters.

"Without you guys, this place is just a house. It's you two that make it a home, my favorite place I can't wait to get back to whenever I'm out."

This is a single parent book and while I enjoyed the family dynamic and the cute baby, Hudson and Charlie's relationship was just okay and not interesting enough to make me love the story.

ARC received by author in exchange for an honest review!

This was such a sweet and lovely read!! You simply cannot not fall in love with Charlie and Hudson! They are so adorable sweet!! Also it gave me a craving to bake some things myself so that was fun!
Mira is such a sweet little "baby' she is so adorable you fall in love with her almost instantly!

The journey wasn't all without some drama along the way! It has drama but it doesn't overrule the rest of the story! In the beginning we got some vague clues as to what happened with Sebastian but it went a totaly different way then I thought it would! So if you think you've got it figuered out, you don't!

I would recommend to read this fantastic read! It's so sweet, hot, and funny!

Such a sweet sweet read! This is the first book I've read by Jasmin Miller but it's most definitely won't be my last! I fell completely in love with the Mitchell family in this book. Hudson has to be the sweetest man ever! And Charlie?... I enjoyed reading through her journey and being able to watch her grow and be the woman she became! This was so beautifully written and I just couldn't get enough. I took a little longer reading this book then I do most but it was in the best of way. I didn't want it to end, I wanted to savor it instead! If your looking for a good fun natured romance this is definitely the book for you! 5 rockstar stars for sure!

Giving this ⭐️⭐️⭐️ as some of the reasons I didn't love this book were due to personal preference.

Overview
Hudson (25). Charlie (23). Told from heroine POV only
A rockstar, his grandma and a single mom share a house (his house, she is a guest invited by his grandma).

Characters
Hudson: he's a mega rockstar and is in a bit of an artistic slump. He’s extremely down to earth and a really nice guy. He doesn’t give off the rockstar vibe at all. He’s become a little worn down from the constant travel and variety that the music business brings and wants to spend more time at home and find a more settled life.

First impression of Hudson: he’s an easy going guy who is quick to laugh and doesn’t get easily offended.

Charlie: she’s a single mom to an infant and is getting ready to open up a bakery. Baking brings her comfort and you can always tell her mood by what she’s whipping up in the kitchen. "Some people take a relaxing bath or work out when they’re frustrated or need to let off some steam. I bake.”

First impression of Charlie: she's skittish. She’s protective of her baby and is a bit mistrusting.

The Story
Plot....high level synopsis: Charlie has no idea who Hudson is and has an instant attraction to him. They seriously like each other but initially decide not to pursue a relationship. After dancing around their attraction, they finally succumb to their attraction.

For me, there definitely was not a lot of action in this book and it didn't hold my attention. I picked it up and put it down several times. Here are some reasons is didn't work for me:

Now, these are all my issues and lots of people loved this story. If none of the above bother you, you will probably really like this story.

H likable? Yes
h likable? Yes
h virgin? No
First time they sleep together: 80%
OW/OM drama? No
H/h cheat? No
Steamy? Not for me. A really slow burn and I didn't fully connect with the characters. Therefore, the steam factor was a bit low for me.
Did I skip pages? Yes.
How the book made me feel: I rolled my eyes quite a bit and the "cutsie", immature characters had me a bit frustrated and irritated. Everything was too sugary sweet.
Big secrets? Well....Charlie felt she had a big secret Honestly, I didn't view this as a big deal. She tells Hudson around the 55% mark and it was no big deal to him either.
Did I cry? No
Cliffhanger? No
How it ends:
Recommend? hmm🤔 it wasn't to my liking, but I'm in the minority. Read if you love low angst, sugary sweet, perfect, characters.

Quotes
"Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit."

"Super hot rockstar plus cute baby make a killer combination. All that’s missing is a little adorable puppy."

“I know what I want, and I’m tired of pretending this insane chemistry between us doesn’t exist.”

Hudson and Charlie's story was quite a sweet one. I loved getting to know these two and watching them fall in love despite the fact they had lead very different lifes until they met. With Hudson being a rockstar and used to the spotlight and Charlie being a recent mom who ran away from the tragedies in her past, at first glance they had little in common but in the end they wanted the same things in life - someone to love and to love them and a happy family. They just had to get over their past hurts and find a way to be together despite their different lifestyles.

A rock star romance and a single mother romance seem like a interesting blend from the start right? Well, you're in for a treat with this one. Besides this being the cutttest love story, there are lots twists and turns and 'shocking' unveiling of secrets that made this story even better. And besides, Hudson is reason enough to pick up this book. For a rock star he sure is such a sweet guy. It's so easy to fall in love with him and how much he loves Charlie's little girl. Those two fall in love at first sight and their bond is the best thing. Mira is the cuttest little thing and she is very fun too!

I do feel like this book could have ended way sooner than it did. There was a second conflict that felt unnecessary and it made me feel like the book dragged a little but not a bad way, just adding conflict for the sake of adding it. However, it didn't ruin the book or anything and I'm happy I had more Hudson to read about and with how the book ended. It was definitely a very cute story and if you're in the mood for sweet, this one is perfect for it.

After experiencing the worst tragedies of her life, Charlie is in desperate need of a change. Charlie and her daughter Mira get the opportunity to move across the country—from New York to California—and live with a family friend, Hannah. It’s always been Charlie’s dream to open her own bakery and now her dream is about to be realized with the help and support from Hannah.

Hannah, Charlie and Mira are all staying in her grandson’s house while her kitchen is being repaired. But unexpectedly, her grandson comes back home, adding one more person to their roommate situation. Hannah never told Charlie who her grandson was and Charlie is shocked to discover he is none other than the famous rockstar, Hudson Mitchell.

Charlie and Hudson immediately are attracted to one another. Hudson is nothing like Charlie expects—he’s kind, funny and great with Mira. And better yet, he even offers to help set up Charlie’s bakery. On one condition: she allows him to use her as his muse. And against her better judgment, Charlie says yes.

Before long, Charlie finds herself completely smitten by Hudson. But they each come with their own set of baggage and Charlie isn’t sure she’s ready to open up her heart again. Falling in love is a risk, but Charlie may not have much of a choice when it comes to this boy-next-door rockstar.

Baking With a Rockstar by Jasmin Miller is the first book in the Brooksville series. Usually rockstar romances are full of partying, angst, rock n’ roll, but not this one. Baking With a Rockstar is sugary sweet and will keep you smiling from start to finish. I found this story to be a refreshing detour from all the angsty romances I read. Hudson is the absolute perfect swoon-worthy hero. If I ever had a book boyfriend, he’d be it! Although the romance didn’t have much conflict and it seemed a little too cheesy at times, I really enjoyed this sweet romance. 4/5 stars.

I really enjoyed this book! Baking with the Rockstar is a heart melting story about finding the love of your life but is more about coming home and finding yourself again after losing who you are. I loved that it was a sweet, fun, charming and easy read. I adored the chemistry between the two main characters and how they have to overcome some hurdles before and during their relationship to get where they want to be.

The chemistry between Charlie and Hudson is undeniable and they pull you in for one sweet, exciting, and emotional ride. This was a such a fantastic read. This book had making me feel all kinds of wonderful and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet and feel good romantic book.

Why does the hero and heroine keep laughing every 2 second? The hero is supposed to be a rockstar, idk what type of rockstar he is but he got no vibe of a rockstar...he just acts to...idk what. Simple? Stupid? Always smiles or laughs? Heroine is annoying. Why do i always stumble upon books like this. WHY GOD WHY.

Baking with a Rockstar was just as sweet as it sounds! Honestly maybe even sweeter than I would typically expect from a rockstar related romance novel, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It was also a nice balance of sweet and heat that shouldn't be too much to keep anyone out of this kitchen.

My absolute favorite things:

1) The characters. Which ones, you ask. ALL. OF. THEM. Omg seriously, can this PLEASE be only the beginning of series set around this awesome group of characters? Most notably the entire Mitchell family. Shoot, you can even throw in a Grandma Hannah novella and I'll be there for that. The whole family is just so darn likeable, and better yet each member is incredibly intriguing, I would love to get a book devoted to each one of them! I want to explore what's going on between Mo and Gabe, I want to tour Dahlia's school for the arts, I need to find more out about Rose, hell I want to hang out with Hannah and her whole granny squad! And while all this is going on we can see more from the fast faves, Hudson and Charlie (and Mira too, of course!).

2) THE TWIST. Guys, I can't say what it is and that kills me in a way because it is soooooo good. It isn't all that often that I'm genuinely 100% surprised by a plot twist, but this one got me. It got me good. And it was EVERYTHING. It was honestly refreshing to have something that isn't exactly your run of the mill go-to romance tropes. I dig that in a big way.

So all in all lots of flavor in this charming little read. If you're looking for something fun and swoon-worthy with downright loveable characters and a surprise or two along the way then this is the story for you.

I won an ARC of this book from the author and this is my honest review.

"Baking with a Rockstar" by Jasmin Miller is the first book in the "Brooksville" series. A short and very sweet contemporary romance, with a single mother and a rockstar.

About to open a bakery, Charlie has moved to Brooksville with her daughter Mirabelle to a family friend's house, Hannah. Everything seems to be going peacefully after her heart was broken, but the unexpected visit of Hannah's grandson took her breath away. Because it's the same Hudson Mitchell rock star, who comes home, and he'll have to live with those two sweeties.

Hudson and Mira are adorable together. In those moments I was drooling all the time, there couldn't be anything sweeter. But it's not the only sweet thing in the whole book because Charlie and Hudson were sweet too. It's just that Hudson was an irresistible character, and the time he gave Charlie to clarify himself was perfect. The history that Charlie hides thrilled me, and was very unexpected because from the beginning of the book gives you the wrong idea, and that change was great. Even so, Charlie deserved a monument for everything she had to do and the sudden change in his life.
I can't wait to read about Monica and Gabe.

Sweet, intense and emotional.
I love how Charlie is determined, how she never gave up and how strong she is. Life sometimes is unfair with us, but most important thing is to know nothing is forever. This lovely story is more than eyes can see, you can feel the intense determination on her, the love around every person, and how sometimes when we do not expect life finds a way of surprising us.
All characters are very well developed, I can feel some can come (and hope they will) in other sequel what excite me a LOT.

This book will make your day a lot more sweet and lovely. Try it!

Jasmin never disappoint showing exceptional characters and beautiful stories.

This is the 2nd book I've read written Jasmin Miller; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the chemistry between the characters.
