Wow, I don't even know what to say. This series started out with a bang and with book 5 it went out with an even larger one. So much so that even though it was time for it to end, I really didn't want it to. This author obviously really put the time in beforehand mapping everything out and putting all the players in place knowing exactly the ride she was going to take you through. It was an absolute joy to watch Carina and Mateo change in some of the best ways without changing their innate characters and keeping them true to their natures. Book 5 really brought everything together so well and in an utterly believable way even living in this OTT world. The surprises, twists, turns and revelations were so on the money and still not expected - it was delicious. There's a reason that this series is called Blood and Secrets and it definitely lived up to both! An utterly satisfying, well written, fast paced end to a series that will definitely go down as one of my favorites.

Blood & Secrets 5 by Rose Harper is book 5 in The Calvetti Crime Family series. This continues the story of the story of Carina and Mateo. I do feel strongly that you need to read the previous books 'Blood and Secrets 1', 'Blood and Secrets 2' and 'Blood and Secrets 3' , 'Blood and Secrets 4' first to fully enjoy this book (and series).
This is the last book in the series and ties up the story line for Carina and Mateo. This isn't a tame book and keeps with the dark theme of their relationship. I cannot say enough about how this series has placed you on the edge wanting to know what would happen next, reading how they survive through their obstacles to get to where they wanted to be.
Really enjoyed this page turner series and would recommend this to Dark Romance readers.

This is not a story where you can read the series out of order. Everything that occurs happens chronologically.
In this latest book we get to watch Carina come into her own – her voice seems to have grown stronger. And both she and Mateo shocked me. I never thought I’d do it but I let out a laugh – shocked me too. Mateo seems to be in so much emotional pain and then it seemed to dawn on me that so has Carina – I know, I’m a little slow but like the tortoise I eventually get there. With how the author writes her scenes, you can almost feel their anguish.
Then the author creates a surprise guest, which has me sitting up and taking notice. He shares a secret that sets some things in motion. Our author also shows that Carina has a softer side but make no mistake, I still wouldn’t want to get on her bad side. Even with all the violence, after all that’s their life, you’re still able to see how much they love each other.
For me, this was my favorite out of all the books in the series. There were plenty of ups and downs that led to this place and I’m glad I was there to enjoy this ride. But I still got upset when I saw the most dreaded two words that always come whether we want to see them or not. But after I turned the page I am a happy addicted camper – I want more.

Ok, I have to admit that I did not see that coming. I knew .. KNEW .. that there was more to the story than we had read previously. I knew that the final installment was going to knock it out of the park, but I did not expect the revelations that came up. Suspense is ratcheted high in this book. This story has been one big mind f after another.
The bonds of this couple is tested time and again through this series, but this book puts them to the final test. And I admit, I thought that they were going to have trouble getting past them. And in part they did. But, Mateo and Carina show why they are ones that are to be feared. They prove that they are the top of the food chain.
This was definitely a job well done by Rose Harper. Suspenseful and dark as heck. There were things that I really did not like in the series, but overall it blew me away with the number of secrets and lies that kept coming out and getting solved.

I loved this series. The author has outdone herself in creating a memorable story with amazing characters who leap off the page and pull you right into the story. I read book 1 and I was thinking - what did I get myself into? But it was so well written and so riveting to see their story play out in the pages of this series, I was hooked. It has been a whirlwind of emotions and shock and unbelievable twists, I could not stop reading even as I was frustrated by the cliffhangers. At the end of each book, I was mad...mad that the author wrote such a good book and left me hanging for the next. Thank goodness the wait wasn't too long. I plan on reading the entire thing back to back to get the true feeling of the characters and their actions and get the full impact which would have propelled this set of books into greatness if it had been released as one book or a set of two instead of five. Still - it was a very memorable story which will stay with me for a long time to come.

ONE SIZZLING DARK READ!!!
Man, oh man. This is one hot, action packed, hard hitting, fast paced, heart pounding, pulse racing, nailbiting, spine tingling, adrenaline pumping, page turning dynamo that captivates from the start. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few glitches here and there make for one enjoyable experience. The characters are well developed and believable. Their personalities are unique with qualities and traits that balance out perfectly. The scenes are so descriptive and detailed it's easy to picture each scenario while it plays out before your eyes. What an imagination and inspiring tale woven around us until everything else ceases to exist. This Rose did an excellent job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Fantastic job Rose, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.

The ending to Mateo and Carina's story ends with a bang. Of course there's scenes of torture and death (although one death is very anti-climatic), and one huge surprise that I don't think many people will see coming.
It's short, like all the others in this series are, and the epilogue sets us up for Gavino's story. I'm excited for those, because I'm not ready to say goodbye to these characters.
I was able to finish this book in roughly three hours (maybe less).
I loved Mateo and Carina, they will probably always be my favorite, but I'm excited to read all the others' stories, particularly Dom's.

Awesome Ending
Whew! I was so much awed. Everything was clearly revealed. I am definitely satisfied with the ending. I am not much into cliffhangers really because some books took too long for their subsequent stories to be released. This series only took awhile, and I am grateful. It is VERY MUCH RECOMMENDED to READ these from the very BEGINNING. You will be stuck with the story from the very first time you get a hold on it, I can guarantee that! Nope, no spoilers here. I will be rooting for the author, and will definitely her books.

This is the final book in the series and the author does a fantastic job bringing it to a climatic ending and possibly setting up a new series. She once again brings a multitude of strong characters and fills the story with suspense,violence and all the intrigue with the mob rule and happenings as well as the powerful love story between Mateo and Carena. I loved this book / series and highly recommend reading.

The chilling climax to this dark, twisted, gory, and gritty romance was truly spectacular! The great writing style continued to unravel the dark strands of the romance between Mateo and Carina. The questions and loose ties that were brought up in the previous books were answered in this finale.
Fast paced, raw, bloody, and compelling as Mateo and Carina face hard facts about their shared past that brings chilling consequences.
Truly a great ending/beginning to their love saga.

Blood and Secrets 5 by Rose Harper. This was a great mafia romance with a darkish themed background. Rose is becoming one of my favorite go to authors when I am looking for a good mix of drama, sexy scenes, strong characters, and of course a well deserved HEA. (even when it takes several books to get there) This story is filled with dark drama, sexy scenes and very vividly detailed descriptions. I would recommend this book to others.

Now Mateo is back home and more secrets have been bought to the surface, things are starting to fall apart. Carina must make her choice and she must also make Camille talk, at this rate there will be no happy ending, but Mateo and Carina unless they get to the person who started this. Whoo this has had me in pieces, Carina has Mateo back but at what cost, love this series definitely big league stuff going on here.

What a finale!! I loved every bit of this book with horrific truths and all!! It was fantastic and very well written! Carina and Mateo is a genuine force to be reckoned with. I loved this book and it did not leave you wanting for more. With Gavino's mysterious job he does it leaves the door wide open for another series. I loved this book and truly loved the series! I would recommend this highly to all!!

I have mixed feelings with this book. I was happy for finally being able to read it but sad for this story ending. I loved Carina and Mateo. The author gave us 5 kick ass mafia romances that are amazing and I'll definitely read again!
The book has everything a final book should have; it's action-packed, sexy and oh so dark! Mateo and Carina are finally together after what happened in the last one, but not for long.. I was shocked with the connection between Mateo and her past. I didn't see that twist coming! The book's title is so accurate. In this last installment, all secrets are coming out and blood is spilled.
The ending is perfect! Many thanks to Rose Harper for giving us these books 😍 I can't wait for Gavino's story next; I'm so excited for this one!!

What a fantastic conclusion to the Blood and Secrets series.
THIS IS NOT A STANDALONE!!
It's such a bitter sweet read, I loved every moment of this book, but an sad that it's finally come to an end.. Everything is finally revealed, all those secrets that caused bloodshed are no more. I will NOT be giving anything away in my review, nothing at all!
This series is a must read and you need to start with Blood and Secrets 1
I can't wait for Gaviano's book Scars and Silk 1.

You must read all the books in the series and in order if not you will be completely lost and you won't be able to enjoy it for the amazing story that it is. Mateo and Carina's story has been one of the best stories I have read and although it began in hate and control in ended in love and respect this series came in kicking you in the teeth and left you with a kick to the gut I absolutely loved this series and can't wait to see what Rose Harper comes up with next.

Blood & Secrets 5 is the finale of the The Calvetti Crime Family and what a finale it was! So many more suprises even after the big one at the ending of Blood & Secrets 4... I’m not going to spoil anything especially since it’s the last but I will say that although there were a few tough moments, it did end with a pleasant HEA and I’d recommend to anyone looking for a short series with two crazy psychos who love each other.

Seriously if you have not read any of this series then you need to do yourself a favour and start. This was the brilliant conclusion to this series. Love all the collection especially with it being a mafia romance making for a great action packed thrill ride with great characters and great twists and turns.

Mafia dark romance that's hot, bloody and a compelling fast page turner.
I love a good dark romance and Rose Harper delivers. I'm putting her writing right up there was my other favorite dark romance writers, Celia Aaron, K. Webster, and Pepper Winters. Mateo and Carina were so equally off the chart badass and dark.

This was a great story and was very entertaining. Once I started I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between the hero and heroine is sizzling hot. I would recommend this to anyone that loves a great love story.

I am sad that this amazingly fraught with terror and agony series is thru. Mateo and Carina were an explosive over the top couple that ruled their world. I cannot wait for the new series to start.

Mateo is a very protective and possessive man, “there’s only one man who has any right to touch you, and that’s me. My lips. My hands. My ***k. Anyone who thinks differently will die …” Overall I liked this series, I fell in love with Mateo.

This is the final installment of Mateo and Carina's story. One that was never supposed to turn into love, even a sick twisted kind of love. God help anyone who goes against this man and his Queen. The devil himself makes sure they are prepared for what they need to do. Secrets and lies have lead everything to this place in time. Now after everything they have both been through will they get some semblance of a HEA? Or will the devil laugh in their faces as he takes it all away? This is one hell of an ending to one frighteningly dark twisted tale and I hope your ready for it, or maybe this is just a pause before another story begins!!!
