Julia Kent’s New York Times bestselling romantic comedy series continues in Shopping for a CEO’s Honeymoon as Andrew and Amanda settle in to married life… and so much more.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 5 New York Times bestsellers and more than 21 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French, German, and Italian, with more titles releasing in the future.
From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire in a rom com).
She also writes romantic suspense as Meli Raine, sexy shifter romances as DJ Jennings, billionaire shifters as half of the author team Diana Seere, and co-authors with Elisa Reed.
She lives in New England with her husband and three children in a household where she is the only person with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.
Not my favorite in the series, since not much happened other than a lot of sex. Felt there wasn’t any real development, it was more like a pause while you wait for the good stuff to start up again!

“...the brilliant imagination of Julia Kent brings the hilarious to everyday life” – Goodreads reviewer
He says we never had a proper honeymoon. So, instead, he’s giving me… a prepper honeymoon? Who knew billionaire preppers were a thing? I guess I’m about to find out.
I loved getting a look deeper into Andrew's childhood. This entire series is comical, endearing and at times very heartfelt!! Julia Kent knows how to keep you glued to the story till the very end!!!

This is Shopping For A CEO’s Honeymoon, book 14 in the Shopping For A Billionaire series, written by Julia Kent. I don’t have any idea how Ms Kent can continue to come up with original storylines after so many books in this awesome series, BUT SHE DOES!! They are all amazing stories with the best characters. Some you will love, some...not so much. Andrew and Amanda are finally going to attempt a honeymoon. Can Andrew get away from work for long enough to have one? What will Amanda plan for them? It’s crazy, sweet, funny and sexy...and a few teary eyed parts too. Love them one, love them all!! It’s another amazing book in an amazing series!!
There was precious little romance for a romance novel with the word 'honeymoon' in the title. And a lot of weird meandering. Julia Kent books, for better or worse, tend towards funny, slapstick. This one, not so much. It just felt like filler. 182 pages of filler.
Just when you think this series can’t possibly get any more outrageous, it somehow does… and you laugh yourself silly over it! Who knew billionaire preppers could be so funny? Julia Kent, apparently. Andrew and Amanda always do things their own way, even their long awaited honeymoon it seems. Underneath all of the crazy though, is always love with these two. I also immensely enjoyed the bits about Shannon, Declan, and little Ellie. There’s not a parent on the planet that cannot identify with those not so happy accidents that a new baby inevitably hits you with. Then they grow up a little and use you as a human Kleenex. Ah, the joys of parenthood. Shannon and Declan definitely seem to be rising to this new challenge. I sincerely hope that Julia Kent never runs out of ideas for the crazy cast of characters in this series… because I will never tire of reading about them. I’m kind of hoping there’s a happily ever after in the works for Shannon’s sister Carol, for instance. She and those adorable boys of hers definitely deserve a good man in their lives. One thing I’m absolutely sure of is that whatever Julia Kent comes up with next for this series will be every bit as amazing as all that has come before, and that’s saying something.
*I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to review. All opinions are my own.
I have loved this entire series and adding this book with the rest well I loved it! To see if Amanda and Andrew can finally have a honeymoon two plus years after the wedding if any one can make it happen it is Julia Kent. Andrew is a very busy CEO of a Fortune 500 company, to consider taking 2 weeks off is just not possible or so he thinks! Get his wife and assistant together and mircles happen! This book had me laughing out loud at the breastfeeding issues, poopy diaper explosions, bunkers with sexbots and gun range classes with someone excelling at target practice! We get to see how Declan and Shannon are adjusting to being new parents ( some laughs and sighs there), how Andrew reacts to his new niece, older brother Terry makes an appearance and we visit the past for the McCormick brothers which I will warn you will make you have tears in your eyes but it also explains so much. This is the 14th book in this series and I do not know how Julia Kents does it but I am so very glad that she does. I look forward to more books in this series and highly recommend this series! If you haven't read any of her books give them a try you will not be disappointed. I want to thank Julia Kent for giving me the opportunity to read this book in advance of it's release.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we get more from Amanda and Andrew. They never had a honeymoon and now people are beginning to wonder why, and by people we mean her friends. Amanda wonders though what would it be like to have time with just her and her husband. However you know what they say about those best laid plans and all. When she first proposes the idea she realizes they are on different sides of the coin when it comes to a honeymoon. Can they find a way to get the time they need with one another without compromising other things in their live or will it leave someone a little broken when it is all said and done?
This is another amazing story in this series. This book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. There are ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't wan to ruin it for any other readers. I would however highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
Through this entire Shopping for a Billionaire series so far, I never expected to love a couple more than Declan and Shannon. NEVER! But this book? It has me so in love with Amanda and Andrew. While often quirky as we expect from Julia's wonderful rom-com series, there was just more to this story. Reading their individual though processes about relationships in general was wonderful but hearing how they felt about each other, how deep their connection is was just absolutely amazing for me. We know they will have pitfalls and some very strange inner dialogues, we all see how the past, not only from Andrew & Amanda's points of view but also from Terry's, shaped who they are and framed their current lives. Julia has the ability to make us feel intense feelings while still being able to make us laugh.
A honeymoon a couple years after your wedding? Why not? Another great addition to the series. Hilarious moments from doorbells, exploding diapers, and sex craved sultans. It amazes me every time I read one of Julia’s books to see what her imagination comes up with. Can’t wait for the next one!
Amanda & Andrew are finally getting their honeymoon...but in a very unique way: remodeling their estate! Several very amusing parts, as to be expected by Ms. Kent's books, just not as many as previous ones Still greatly enjoyed, and am looking forward to more books in the future!
Julia Kent is so good at rom com. She's hilariously funny with her dialogue (a therapy parrot? Hilarious) and poignant with her prose when something serious is going on. 5 solid stars. I love Andrew and Amanda and when is Terry getting a book?
“Shopping for a CEO’s Honeymoon” is the latest in Julia Kent’s long running romantic comedy series. Like the best movie rom coms, it’s on the short side, warm, funny, well constructed, a little bit fantasy and a little bit grounded.
This is the 14th in the series, and it’s a remarkably consistent series. Not so much in the content (although Kent is well aware of the tropes of the romance genre, and largely sticks to them) as in the quality. If you’ve read one “Shopping” novel, then you have a good idea of the kinds of emotions that will be evoked and the tight, well constructed story you can expect.
Andrew and Amanda have now been married for two and a half years, and yet they’ve never had a honeymoon. Amanda isn’t all that bothered, until it starts to feel like a question of whether Andrew is prepared to prioritise her. She challenges him to a staycation honeymoon: two weeks renovating their home to their taste. And not going near work.
Andrew isn’t used to compromising too much – when you’re a billionaire, you tend to get what you want. But he’s realising that marriage requires more compromise than most areas of life. He agrees… but then other priorities come to the fore, and before Amanda knows it, her staycation has turned into a prepper honeymoon.
For me this novel – and indeed, the last couple – is a little less hilarious than some of the earlier volumes. In those Kent mined the possibilities of mystery shopping with truly hilarious results. While this novel is still funny, it’s a little more muted. The trade off, however, is some thoughtful exploration of ongoing relationships and how you maintain them. This is a great balance – this is a highly entertaining novel that builds the series rather than simply repeating earlier instalments. And as I said, it’s still funny.
All of the characters will be familiar to ongoing readers. Kent extends our relationship with them, helping us to know them better and enjoy watching relationships deepen and change. It’s not just Amanda and Andrew. Andrew’s brother Declan and his wife Shannon have recently become parents, and that’s affecting their relationship with each other and with their friends. Anyone who’s ever had a baby is going to recognise a lot of this; Kent finds humour in it but doesn’t lose sight of the seismic changes it brings.
In some ways I can see this novel as a set up for an even funnier 15th instalment. Perhaps Andrew and Amanda will be forced to implement their prepper plans. Long time readers will already be smiling at that idea, picturing the things that could happen when all of this loopy clan are forced to live together. Hopefully Kent has some plans along these lines!
Obviously, you’ll get more out of this if you’re a continuing reader. You’ll be familiar with some past events, and in particular you’ll already know the characters and appreciate their ongoing development. However, if you’re new to the series, you should still enjoy it. This offers a steamy yet genuinely loving romantic relationship; appealing, empathetic characters; and an amusing situation. All of these can be enjoyed if you’ve never read a “Shopping” novel before.
But take a word of advice – this is a really fun series, and it’s worth reading them all. Some are funnier than others, but all of them feature strong characterisation and romantic relationships to make you sigh. “Shopping for a CEO’s Honeymoon” is an enjoyable novel, on its own or as part of the series.
In typical Julia Mills fashion we have been given another wonderful and funny book. What do you do when you have all the money you want and a big ole home you grew up in? Oh yes, forgot to say you never went on a honeymoon.... (although you have plenty of money to do so ya know), well you have a staycation. YEP but when you have a hubby who takes things overboard like Andrew does, and throw in all that money we talked about and well... yep rip rolling funny. He just happens to talk to some rich buddies right before he started remodeling & the remodel moves way off course. I do mean OFF as in off the grid off.
If you have never read any of the books let me share a little bit for ya to understand what is going on here. Andrew and Amanda and Shannon and Declan compete for everything. Declan and Andrew are brothers (Amanda and Shannon are besties). Shannon and Declan had a honeymoon but for some reason they won't share details. HUM now they have a baby. Andrew and Amanda had no honeymoon...yet. So THIS IS THEIR Honeymoon. I have to say this book IS funny but it always is so enlightening. We get to see so many sides of the family in this book. I have so happy to see more of the family members who have been tucked away for a while come out to visit.
This is the 14th book in the Shopping for a Billionaire series. It can be read as a standalone book, but you will enjoy more background on the characters and their stories if you start at the beginning.
Amanda and Andrew have been married for over two years now. They never had a honeymoon. Amanda's friends convince her that she deserves one and she involves the help of Andrew's personal assistant to make two weeks of room in his business schedule, even as a busy fortune 500 CEO. Instead of a destination, they do a "staycation" to remodel the estate Andrew grew up in and bought for Amanda as a wedding gift. Needless to say, they have very different ideas of remodeling and what is needed for their future in their home.
Julia weaves a hilarious tale of this couple, their family and support characters that will have you laughing until you cry and two minutes later saying "awww" about cute baby Ellie or something the couple says to each other on their belated honeymoon. Packed with feelings and laughter from start to end.
Who is Amanda? Where does she work and who is her boss? Who is Josh and how does Amanda know him? Where do we find them and who is Carol? What are they doing? Why are Andrew, Declan, and Shannon brought into their conversation? How does the first trio know the second trio? Who went to Vegas and what happened? What do we learn about Carol and her topics of conversation depending on what drink number she is on? I could not stop laughing about that! The whole conversation with Amanda, Josh, and Carol was a hoot! Oh my, I am not sure Andrew is going to be alive by the end of the book! When Connie and Gina have lunch with Amanda, that had me both furious at Andrew and laughing so hard I set my asthma off! Andrew's reaction at hearing about Amanda's new scent was funny! Omaar is an 'interesting' character. This felt like it ended a bit abruptly to me, but I suspect we will see a little more about it in the next book! Enjoy the story! I did.
Andrew and Amanda have been married for a couple of years, yet, they’ve never had a honeymoon. Andrew is a workaholic and can barely spare a weekend away. Now Amanda takes charge, by talking to his personal assistant and making sure she can take over the business for two weeks. So what does Amanda want to do for said honeymoon, a stay-cation. Her idea is to remodel their home to a more modern one. It is the home where Andrew grew up, but it’s a bit outdated. However, Andrew wants to make it a prepper home, meaning to get it ready for the possibility of a meteor hitting Earth. Where they could survive for a long time just incase the apocalypse hits. Crazy but true, this is how Andrew thinks. Comedy and mayhem ensues with past of characters from previous books. I have loved this series.
Yay this little beauty landed on my iBooks this morning and I couldn’t wait to dive right in!
Julia Kent takes us on another wild ride of laughs, hilarious banter and diaper explosions as Amanda works on getting a honeymoon out of Andrew two years after their wedding. What Amanda didn’t count on was it turning into a prepper honeymoon.
From tender moments shared between the two, beating your husbands ego and a crazy sex obsessed sultan, nothing beats what Amanda and Andrew have!
From tears of laughter to a few tears of bittersweet moments when Terry returns. Julia knows how to bring out the big guns in this series and this book certainly did not disappoint!!!!!
I have read every one of the Shopping Series by Julia Kent and each one is as good as the last. This one is about Andrew and Amanda, who after three years of marriage, have not taken a honeymoon. Amanda takes things into her own hands and instructs Andrew that they are going to have a staycation and remodel the estate, which Andrew grew up on and purchased from his father. How can two People who can't keep their hands off each other, have a honeymoon with a house full of builders, electricians, decorators .....? As always, this is funny, poignant (like the night with Terry) and in some cases down right strange. Who knew that the world was preparing for an apocalypse by developing sexbots!! Loved this book.
The Shopping Series continually keeps you on your toes! This entry is the story of Andrew and Amanda's staycation honeymoon. What amazes me about this series is the extremes of hilarity and emotional heartstring tugging that these books elicit in the reader. Terry slayed me in this book and I want more from him! Hearing Andrew's inner dialogue about being an uncle and maybe becoming a father was beautifully written. His openness with Amanda at the end of this book was lovely to read. Andrew (and Declan) have come so far from the beginning of this series, it is great to see them to continue to develop as husbands, fathers, brothers, friends.... My only complaint is that I wanted more... more development, more everything!
Humor and Romance for this Billionaire’s Honeymoon!! 4.5 stars
When you are Billionaire and CEO, you do NOT take two weeks’ vacation; unless your wife and assistant gang up on you.
A compromise of a “staycation” to renovate Andrew’s family home to make it both his and Amanda’s begins. Andrew’s focus is to prep for the coming zombie apocalypse due to the influence of some other affluent friends. Amanda is focused on design and décor. Of course any renovation is fraught with danger….
This couple is awesome, so romance is abounds, despite the teams of workers descending on their abode. The humor comes through sultans, service parrots and the peculiarities of the uber-rich. A highly entertaining read!
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
I really love the Shopping series! I experience so many emotions while reading about the lives of all of the characters. The situations they encounter make me laugh so hard or bring on the tears like a waterfall. I usually feel all the ups and downs of each character.
Keeping that in mind, for some reason I didn't get that with this one. Don't get me wrong, I love Andrew and Amanda, but this 'Honeymoon' just didn't pull at my emotions like the rest of the series has. I wish I could put my finger on what it was, but I can't. Maybe there wasn't enough conflict/drama? IDK I especially loved that we had both Andrew and Amanda's view points. There were a few scenes that I really liked, but in general this one just fell short for me.
I love Julia Kent’s sense of humor in this series. I have not read or listened to all of them which is good as they are all standalone stories. I’m sure it would be best read in order but that isn’t necessary to enjoy the story. Both narrators enhance the story. I rated this 4.5 but had to round up due to whole number ratings.
I listened to this one and loved that it was narrated by two people. We get Amanda’s and Andrew’s point of view throughout the book.
So after 2+ years of marriage, Amanda wants a proper honeymoon. She and Andrew negotiate a two-week staycation to renovate their home which was his childhood home.
This story is full of fun, humor, and much rolling of the eyes. I enjoyed each minute of it.
Amanda and Andrew never had a honeymoon, so they decide to have a two weeks staycation to renovate their mansion. This will bring a lot of introspection from both of them, of where they are and what they want to be and go from there. Your usual posy of suspects are there, from Declan to Shannon and baby Ellie, which is already starting her shenanigans and will bring out some very strong emotions from both of them. This book is a little more serious than the rest of the series, but you will learn a lot more from the McCormick boys and their past. I am certain Julia Kent as another crazy adventure in store from all of the crazy characters.
Andrew and Amanda have been my favorite couple in the "Shopping" series for quite a while. Her pragmatic, honest but unfettered way of dealing with life, together with his guarded, wealthy and over the top way of living make for wild, yet endearing, adventures. This latest escapade with Andrew and Amanda is no less fun, intriguing and heartfelt than those that came before. A staycation honeymoon, mansion remodeling, DeClan and Shannon's new baby Ellie, gun classes and billionaire preppers all make the perfect combination for our intrepid duo. They can face anything, together. It's a joy to be there with them.
I love Andrew and Amanda a little bit more with each book I read. Amanda is definitely Andrew's soulmate and doesn't take any of his overbearing, egotistical nonsense, although she has plenty of 'ammunition' following the gun awareness course! I really love the way that it stayed with a smaller group as we got to know them a little better. It combined just enough sexy to side splitting laugher and heartfelt tears. It was great to see my other favourite couple, Declan and Shannon, making an appearance along with little baby, Ellie. Looking forward to the next instalment in this brilliant series.
I love Julia Kent’s sense of humor in this series. I have not read or listened to all of them which is good as they are all standalone stories. I’m sure it would be best read in order but that isn’t necessary to enjoy the story.

How true, how true. Again the brilliant imagination of Julia Kent brings the hilarious to everyday life. From breastfeeding mishaps to the full body length poopy diaper. Andrew and Amanda didn't get to have their honeymoon. Now it's 2 1/2 years later. Watching Shannon and Declan with their baby starts some yearnings in both of them. But can a CEO of a Fortune 500 company take two weeks off? And what should they do? The hijinks that happen keeps you laughing and sighing. And a few tears here and there also. Easy to read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series!
Fourteen books into this series and the antics just get funnier every time!!
After two years of marriage, Amanda convinces Andrew to have a staycation honeymoon to renovate their estate. Which turns into a prepper honeymoon. Knowing how out of control prepping can get, I was already dying laughing at the first mention of the changes that would need to be made. Throw in insane billionaires and rulers and some serious competition and this book had craziness and catastrophe written all over it!!
This book is hilarious but it also has big doses of emotion thrown to balance it out. I enjoy every visit with the McCormicks and I can't wait to see what kind of mess they can get up to next!!
