To say I survived the unimaginable isn’t exactly accurate, because I didn’t.
I’m alive.
But I’m not living.
I’m existing, clawing my way from one day to the next.
My only saving grace is my job as a police officer, and it’s during a routine traffic stop one evening when the threads of my isolated existence begin to unravel.
One glance from Quinn Harris and I feel like I’m dreaming. And the more chance brings us together, the more I’m powerless to stop the uneasy feeling that I’m losing control.
She stirs up thoughts of something new and unexpected—of a life I’m no longer prepared to handle.

***

I’m done with men.
I trusted my ex and he broke my heart.
But life doesn’t seem to want to follow my plan, which is evident the moment I meet Nolan Bennett.
He doesn’t score high on first impressions. In fact, he is downright rude.
But as we continue to run into each other, I start to see another side of him, and I can’t deny I’m intrigued.
Against my better judgment, I give him a chance.
But again, life will step in and take over.
Only this time I don’t think either of us will survive. Not with an unknown link between us too painful to overcome.

I'm an indie author who grew up with a love of reading and a very active imagination, never putting pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard until 2013.

I typically write romantic suspense, as I love stories with some twists and turns. I also love my HEA, although the road to get there is quite the journey.

Nolan and Quinn’s story will capture your heart and soul as you take this highly emotional journey with this enchanting couple. A story of fate, secrets, connections and heart wrenching tragedies. Their story is passionate, powerful and steamy. Captured will steal your breath as the chemistry radiates between these two and has you on the edge of your seat. A beautiful love story of second chances, hope and longing.

Oh, well, this was... Ok, it was hot, but I also loved the emotion and truth and twists. I won't ruin this review by spitting the blurb back at you. S. Nelson is a fantastic story teller and I never get bored reading her words. Nolan just breaks my heart and made squirm a bit. He had uncertainty and doubts which make him human and we don't always get to read these two characteristics in romance novels so that was actually really refreshing. And Quinn was sweet and she too had her own doubts and gosh she made me sad and laugh. She wasn't a weak woman, but she alsondidnt walk around like she was Bonnie Bad*ss either.

It was good to see there wasn't any OTT drama that ruined the storyline. The characters carried the story on their own and anything extra would have had me skimming pages.

I was completely Captured by Nolan Bennett in this beautiful and emotional story. S Nelson really gave us a heart wrenching story of devastating loss, forgiveness, new love, guilt and redemption. Nolan had a strong character that had been broken to the core. Would he ever survive the intense heartbreak and find himself again? Can he ever trust his heart to another?
Quinn was also so broken from a recent split up and family loss yet her strong spirit made me love her even more. Her sassy disposition drew Nolan in and kept him wanting more. Their chemistry was instantly off the charts and had me begging for more!! A definite must read in my opinion!!

As usual S. Nelson writes a book you just can't put down. I loved every word in this book. The characters are amazing. I hope this becomes a series because I want to hear about all the people that I just read about. Its that kind of book you miss as soon as you read the last words.

5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So many intense emotions with a fast paced romance. Be prepared to dive into this world and have your heart strings pulled with Nolan and Quinn.

I was given an ARC for my honest opinion of this book and that is exactly what I have given. This is just my honest opinion and review of this book.

Omg this is a very intense and emotional book. Get ready to have your heart breaking for Nolan Bennett. He was such an endearing character and his situation was just heartbreaking to say the least. Quinn was such a sweetheart with a vixen hidden inside which made her character fun to read. This story starts off with some laughs at how they met each other and then quickly goes from them both trying to learn to re-date in some ways to a full blown whirlwind romance. These two became so attached so quickly that with one issue, that would turn their lives upside down when it finally came out. These two have had very traumatic events take place in their lives and both feel equal parts guilt and honestly I wouldn't know how I would have reacted in either of their situations. This book will tug at your heart and make you feel so many emotions all at once. S. Nelson is one of those authors that will dive into the raw gritty moments of life that most want to shy away or gloss over but not her. She brings everything out and with it you get an emotional read that could be so real you just want to either holler at the characters or hug them. The issues in this book are so very realistic and very well detailed that it makes this story even more heartfelt. These are two very ordinary people in life that do jobs that aren't always seen as more than just that. He's a cop who puts his life on the line every day to protect everyone else and she's a social worker trying to help the overlooked and broken individuals and together they find a peace that settles over them when they are together. This book really captures the everyday heroes of these two. I absolutely loved this story and how real it felt and how well the author sucked you into this fast paced romance. I highly recommend this book if you want something that will make you smile and possibly break your heart at times only to give that HEA you need at the end.

Captured by S Nelson *** 3.5 stars
Quinn has just gotten out of a long term relationship and is sworn off men for life. When she’s pulled over by a very attractive police office, nothing can prepare her for his rudeness. Nolan is plagued with guilt from a tragedy that has happened in his life, he is a shell of the man he used to be, and now behaves rudely and has become anti-social. When he pulls a woman over for speeding, he behaves like a royal P-ick. But fate has other plans for him, putting the beautiful woman in his path at every turn. Will she be the woman to break him and show him how to live again, or will her past be the one thing that will destroy them both? Ms Nelson has written a romance with plenty of story. Both characters are likeable and both have a sad past. While I enjoyed the story, it was at times a bit slow, yet it did work for this story. For me personally it was predictable and I knew almost immediately how things were going to pan out. However, the story is good and I really liked Quinn and her sassiness. Nolan was possessive and once he let his walls down, we saw a man that was ready to love again. Overall an enjoyable read.

This one was REALLY good!

I haven’t liked all the books in this series but some I have truly loved. This one was really good. (This review will contain spoilers)

I usually don’t like widow/widower or slow burn romances. This one was kind of both—but it totally worked for me. The pacing was great-I never wanted skim or got bored. I really liked the Nolan and Quinn and how their relationship developed. I was very invested in them. Even though Nolan was still so miserable over the loss of his wife and daughter, once he met Quinn, he realized that he needed and actually wanted to move on. I loved that.

I didn’t see the big twist coming. I did think that Nolan was really rough on Quinn regarding it because she was just as devastated as he was about it. So these two have quite an huge conflict to work through. Luckily it’s not dragged on for too long. They get their HEA. My only complaint about that was I wish we got a little further glimpse of them in the future starting their own little family. After reading this I’m definitely going to check out more of S. Nelson’s books again. I read Marek a while ago and I didn’t like it at all, but I’m for sure giving her other books a try because this one was great.

Quinn is a social worker that just got out of a long term relationship. Nolan had something traumatic happen to him and he is just walking through life, not feeling a thing, and being miserable to himself and everyone around him. Nolan and Quinn meet when he pulls her over for speeding and he is a total dick to her. After the encounter, they start to see each other in town. Nolan starts to feel a connection to Quinn and apologizes over and over again. Quinn feeling that same connection gives him a chance.

This books was pretty good. I felt like it dragged on at times, but it was nice to see the two of them take things slow and go on dates. The should I kiss her scene was precious! It was nice to see them get to know one another and have the awkward are we dating conversations? :)

Even though I saw the twist coming, it was still hard to read about.

HEA: Yes
OW/OM Drama: Yes, in the beginning

This couple captured me😍

Wow, I’ve never read anything in the KB World but I know anything by S Nelson is sure to be a winner and never disappoints🤩

Quinn gets pulled over by a cop one night...he’s handsome, sexy but rude beyond belief. Thinking nothing of it, when she goes to visit one of her families that she looks after...he’s there - is fate throwing them together or is this just her bad luck?

Nolan isn’t the same man he was a few years ago, as life has thrown him one too many lemons. Withdrawn and bitter, Quinn is a breath of fresh air - now if he can only get her to forgive his rudeness when they first met❣️However, life has another spanner in the works for this couple - will they overcome it together or get separated forever?😢

What an amazing ride this story took me on and well worth the read😍 I received an advanced copy and I willingly leave my honest review❤️

Another fantastic book from the talented S.Nelson, with a great storyline and fantastic characters, from the moment I started it I couldn’t put it down, I was hooked. A heart wrenching, emotional story of loss, forgiveness, love and redemption.

Nolan’s a broken man, will he be able to find himself again after the heartbreak he’s suffered? If so will he ever be able to trust enough to give his heart to another? After a recent break-up Quinn has also been left broken, however she’s sassy and strong spirited, it’s that sassiness that draws Nolan in, leaving him wanting more, it’s clear there’s chemistry between them and once Nolan lets his guard we get to see a man who’s ready to let love in again.

If you’re after something that will put a smile on your face then look no further, I highly recommend Captured, trust me you won't be disappointed.

Remarkable how fate works. It seems she wanted what these two characters needed all along. Nolan and Quin were two lost souls wading in the deep without a life preserver between them and struggling to stay afloat. Now that is a similitude but it speaks volumes as to where these two characters are in their lives. Both are struggling just to get through the day but with all the times that they keep seeing and running literally into each other it seems fate has stepped in and begun healing them without them having knowledge of her doing so. The more this happens the more the self examining takes hold. This is a great story, it delves on some topics that are remarkably written. S. Nelson captured me and did not let loose of her hold throughout this story. It made my heart soar and bring me a sense of peace for these characters.

Captured by S. Nelson is part of the Everyday Heroes World Series. This is the story of Quinn Harris and Nolan Bennett. This is the first book in the series that I have read, so for me this was a standalone book. Both Quinn and Nolan have been through some hard emotional times leaving them with their emotional scars. There meeting from the first gets them both off track with each other. Nolan is the grumpy cop who starts to see things he has been missing when he starts to be around Quinn more. I am a huge fan of this author's writing and I do try to read everything she writes. So, I do recommend this book!

This story is a great addition to this amazing series and is Nolan and Quinn’s journey. Nolan is a police officer and Quinn is a social worker, and these two have had more than their fair share of traumatic events, and this story pulls at the heartstrings throughout. These two together are like the final piece in the jigsaw puzzle. This is a beautifully written story which is a heartwrenching and emotionally charged tale, which is raw, gritty, intense, heartbreaking, moving, and with realistic and relatable characters, and leads to a humorous and steamy riveting and all-consuming page turner. I look forward to reading more from this gifted author whose work I highly recommend for all.

Nolan has been in darkness for some time now, so he tends to stay to himself & no one else wants to mess with him these days. Quinn is a woman who is more worried about making a difference in the world with social work than making a bunch of money. She's going home one night when she's stopped for speeding, and Nolan was the cop but it didn't quite go well whatsoever. From that moment on she's not a fan even though she thinks he's super hot. Fate keeps throwing them together, so something shifts enough for them to embark on a new journey, and it's very emotional but I won't tell you why. Just as things are getting better and better BAM! S. Nelson throws a huge twist that really derails things in more than one way but I'm not giving the deets on that either. Captured was a story that kept me on the edge of my seat with my emotions on my sleeve so I couldn't put it down. I believe you'll feel the same so you know what to do! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

I really enjoyed this book even though I started out as not a huge fan of Nolan but he’s a grump who has been through a lot. There was a lot of teasing on what happened that caused him to be the way he was and in the end it wasn’t exactly what I expected it to be. Quinn and Nolan are cute together and their fast paced love affair made me happy because after everything they had been through, they both deserved a happy ending. Fingers crossed for a book on Avery! She was a funny secondary character and I want to see what kind of trouble she could get into and maybe revisit future Quinn and Nolan!

Nolan is a police officer who has endured a difficult past which has caused him to be closed off and he doesn’t allow many people close. When he stopped Quinn he believed that their interaction would just be just another ordinary encounter and he wouldn’t see her again not something extraordinary that would change his life.

Quinn has a painful past of her own and was both put off and intrigued by the gruff and sexy officer. When destiny has their lives colliding once again will this end in heartbreak or be the happy ever after they both deserve?

Two captivating characters takes us on an emotional journey that will have enchanted from beginning to end.

What an emotional saga! Wow! Two people suffering the heartache of losing a dear loved one too early. This journey takes the reader through their healing. A painful and beautiful journey. The author created two characters that are the perfect balance to pull each other into healing place where they can learn to love and live again.
“It wasn’t until I met Quinn that I started to see some semblance of the man I used to be. Of the man I wanted to someday be again.”
But will it be enough? Once they find out how they are really connected will it sever them for good?
A quick and easy read, but still filled with the gambit of emotions that take you for an incredible ride. The plot has been told before, however, the author makes it feel new and captivating. The characters are interesting and likable. Overall, a great read!

Quinn Harris thought she had met the man she would spend the rest of her life with, but one fateful day opened her eyes, and she is now single and determined to stay that way for a while. The pain and loss of trust makes her focus more on her job and doing it well. She’s not ready for another relationship right now. She’s had enough pain in her life for the past three years that she’s determined to focus on herself and her job. She loves what she does and wants to do right by her clients and make them her priority.

Nolan Bennett was once a happy man that could joke and smile, but all of that changed a few years ago and now he’s happy to be on patrol without a partner. He doesn’t joke or smile at all now and his mood is always dark. He’s a loner and the only person he talks to is his younger brother, the only member of his family left.

The first meeting of these two was tense and Nolan was rude and detached from the situation. The second meeting, Quinn was not happy that this was the officer assigned to meet her at her client’s house, and Nolan was embarrassed for his previous behavior when he saw Quinn again. These two seemed to be in each other’s paths now and nothing could prepare them for the way things would work out. Neither of them was looking for a relationship, but how could they deny the intensity they felt when they would see each other? Whether it was fate that brought them together or something else, these two were meant for each other. If for no other reason than to heal each other. This story was tragic, amusing at times, heartbreaking at other times, but a beautiful story none the less. I loved it and give it a 4.5-star review. I love S. Nelson’s books; they are always a great read for me. I look forward to more of these stories and hope that there will be one with Will’s story.

Captured is a perfect addition to the Everyday Heroes World. Nolan and Quinn are a quick, emotion read.

Nolan is the grumpy cop who no one wants to partner with. Quinn is the sweet social worker it seems everyone loves. Their first meeting was by far the worst first meeting you could have. The asshole cop who has no manners and the woman who didn't pay attention to the speed limit sign. It seemed fate was on their side or wasn't depending on how you look at because it was like they couldn't get away from each other. Everywhere they went the other was there.

It seemed fate had one trick up its sleeve and the worst night for both of them tied them together in the worst of ways. Neither of them handle this news well and things spiral from there.

Nelson delivered and addiction, amazing story with heart and relatable characters. She had me hooked from start to finish and I read the book in one setting.

I really enjoyed this book. It was filled with so much heart and emotions. Soon as these two met the connection between them was off the charts hot even if Quinn did want to strangle Nolan after he pulled her over on a traffic stop. When they meet again their connection intensifies and Nolan starts to feel like he is being brought back to life again.

I really did love watching Quinn and Nolan's relationship blossom and grow into something so beautiful. I knew something was going to happen, something epic that would blow up this beautiful connection and when it did happen honestly it made me cry. I wanted to hug them both. They were so broken understandably but I just knew what they had was worth saving.

Well done S Nelson on such a beautifully emotional read

This book was a goodreads giveaway. I thought it was well written as far as the growth of a relationship and recovery from previous trauma, and the main characters were relatively well-rounded. However, there was really nothing else going on but the relationship, so I got bored and didn't read past chapter 13. I skimmed ahead but didn't really see anything that changed where I thought the story was going.

Wow Quinn and Nolan. Their first encounter is one for the books. Then they randomly bump into each other and from there they story takes off. Nolan has a reason to be prickly and meets Quinn and realizes he has been shutting himself off to the world and people. Quinn is exactly what he needed to move on with his life. This was a great read.
