Mark and Laura's story is book 4 of the Eagles series but definitely can be read as a standalone.
I was excited for Mark and Laura to get together. In the other books in this series, you've seen Mark's interest and pursuit from the other character's POV so I was hoping to finally get a first hand account of what that pursuit looked like.
After the prologue, the book fast forwards two years. Laura and Mark have established a friendship that eventually grows into something more. I would have loved to see more of what happened in the two years between the prologue and the first chapter. I didn't see or feel the friendship develop, I was only told that it did. I really like Mark and Laura but I wanted more conflict or more meat to their story that would have really invested me in their characters.
