About the Author

Alex Kydd is a Tri-State Area-based actor specializing in contemporary and classical theater. His passion for performing began in his early teens and has progressed into a lifetime motivation. Classically trained, Alex attended The William Esper Studio in New York City, one of The 25 Best Drama Schools in 2015, as recognized by the Hollywood Reporter.

Lacey Black is the author of the Summer Sisters series, the Rivers Edge series, and the Bound Together novels, among other books.

Rachel Dulude is a costume technician at Trinity Rep. She earned a BA from Plymouth State University in acting. Rachel has performed in productions with the Wilbury Group and at Barker Playhouse in Providence and in the US premiere of Anne Boleyn at the Gamm Theatre in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She is a member of Providence's Improv Jones.

    LOVE AND PANCAKES is a standalone read with a happy ending. There are LOTS of sexy scenes and colorful language if that is an issue for you. Rhenn the hero is quite a lusty fellow. He is rough around the edges and could be a turn off for a lot of readers. The heroine Marissa decides to give her mousy quiet ways a backseat and takes charge of her sex life - if only for a few weeks. This story may not be for everyone but I hope my review is about the story and not my personal taste.

    Marissa along with her mother runs a local B&B. The story starts with Marissa staring at the results of an electrical fire in the old building. She is devastated at the damage to her precious home. Firemen, police, etc. are all busy trying to find out what happened and to make sure the fire is all out. Now the work begins.

    Rhenn lives in a town about 3 hr.s away. He is an electrician and his friends are connected to the family that owns the B&B. They get him to take the assignment to rewire the old home. It is a sweet gig as he takes his sailboat down to live on while working on the project. Rhenn is quite a lusty fellow. Sex is always on his mind and he can hardly say a sentence without using foul language. I guess he would be a mans man. A big guy he is quite gorgeous and never is without female companionship. Having his heart broken a long time ago he lives on one-night stands and never falling for any of the women he sleeps with. The minute he sees Marissa in the damaged home he is immediately sexually aware of how sexy she is and what all he would like to do about it.

    This story has a lot of drama as well as sexy scenes. It is Marissa and Rhenn's love story. One that almost ends with a broken heart. The path to love is not always a clear one. It is a good story even if a bit different. I would definitely recommend it. Just be sure it is a story that you can read and enjoy and not be bothered by the sexy scenes. I thought it was entertaining.

    A great storyline. A very romantic, steamy and funny story. Starts with Marissa’s B & B on fire and when construction workers start on it, then she meets the Electrician who arrives as a favour from his best mates wife whose family turns out to be related and a long lost cousin of Marissa. Aunt Emma is hilarious so much innuendo and sexy talk shocking all the family when bot sides meet up. Worth the read.

    Hmmm. I enjoyed Marissa & Rhenn's story for the most part! It's full of fun banter, hilarious side characters from previous books/series, and of course heat! I struggled a bit w/ the self-imposed timeline these two had going on, and the SOB (seemingly obligatory breakup). I just felt like this story could have ventured outside of that box & they could have worked to avoid that whole scenario. Thankfully that part itself didn't drag out, and I loved their reunion!

    Overall, an enjoyable read & looking forward to continuing with the series. : )

    Love and Pancakes was a terrific start to Lacey Blacks new Rockland Falls series. Which combines old and new characters seamlessly and left me wanting more. As this story had all the sweetness and humour of the Summer Sisters Series. As well as the delightfully hilarious and some would say slightly eccentric Emma and Orval. And I was hooked throughout.

    Plus, it was so nice to meet Orval's new nieces and nephews and start to get to know them all better. And I loved the relationship that developed between Rhenn the love and relationship shy best friend of Nick (from My Kinda Forever) And Marissa. Who started off quite quiet but really came into her own as this story developed. And it was a great story, which is why I would happily recommend it to others.

Marissa is thankful no one was injured during the fire at the family-owned B&B. Rhenn is an electrician and leaves Virginia to work on Marissa's family electrical repairs in Rockland Falls, NC. There's an instant connection when Rhenn meets Marissa, but he plans to remain single and she's the settling down type. Marissa and Rhenn's story is filled with drama, laugh-out-loud humor and sizzle. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover and look forward to reading more from Lacey Black in the future. Love And Pancakes is book 1 of the Rockland Falls Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.
