Life turned her into a realist years ago when she lost everything she truly loved.
Wyatt knows there is no happily ever after for her. No white knight coming to her rescue and that’s perfectly fine. She is more than capable of saving herself.
Enter Flynn Maguire. He’s been running from his demons for a decade, hiding in plain sight and determined to forget. No longer able to live the lie, he hunts down the woman he destroyed in a misguided effort to save her.
Wyatt is determined never to repeat the past. Flynn is determined to reclaim the life that should have been his. But determination will only get you so far, and when the glare of public opinion viciously shines on their past, they can either stand united or fall divided.

I don’t care if they were separated but sleeping with other people knowing you still love each other and legally still married to each other it IS cheating!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
H & h met at 15 & got married at 18. Shortly thereafter, they lost their baby and they separated. For 10 yrs, both have dated & slept with OP while still married and claiming they never stopped loving each other. Even if they were separated, they were still married & in love with each other so to me that is cheating! And both knowing that they had other lovers when they supposedly had this big love for each other and that it didn't bother them, makes this romance story a big fat lie and joke!
I don't know about anyone else, but if you love someone, you (a) don't stay away for 10 freaking yrs and live your life without not fighting for the person that you claim is your SOULMATE and that you never stopped LOVING!; and (b) you certainly don't date & f**k other people! In fact, I'm pretty sure that if you love someone deeply that you CAN'T be, or WANT someone else!
So for this reason, this was a DNF for me because even though it is well written & I could have easily loved the main characters & their romance, the fact that Author inserted those overused & stereotypical tropes, along with all that unnecessary OW drama, ruined any chance of me reading further or wanting to read anything again from this Author.
I love me a good old second chance romance, and when the couple are or have been married, all the better. This was definitely one of those books.
Before I go any further, I need to say this. THERE IS NO CHEATING!! Nothing, nada, zip, zero, zilch. The couple have been separated for 10 years and have both moved on with their lives as best as they can which, as I would expect given they are both two consenting adults that live in this freaking century, had other sexual partners during this time apart.
This quote from the heroine sums up for me why I am right in stating there is no cheating:
It’s fine, Flynn, really. We were separated, we both saw other people and neither of us did anything wrong.”
Good enough for me!
This is a shortish, fast read with real characters who suffered a horrific loss which ultimately led to them parting ways. I really like that they both acknowledged blame and apologised for it, that they spoke to each other and that they could move on as they always should have – together.
One of my goals this past year was to read more new to new authors. There are so many talented folks writing in genres that I love and want to discover their stories. I read Breathing Wisteria for that reason. The story sounded amazing and loved the author’s aesthetic. And boy oh boy, was I pleased!
This book is everything I love about a good romance. The characters have a history that I wasn’t anticipating. The shocking twists that were revealed are perfectly timed. I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next!
The main characters and their backstory is so wonderful. I felt for them, wanted to hug them, and rooted for them. The fact that the author could bring those emotions so cleverly to the surface is a testament. Other factors I typically judge, like secondary characters, storytelling, plot, pace, etc. are all equally well done. It was, in short, a very enjoyable read. And most importantly, the steamy bits were pure🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! Do Not Let the sweet covers fool you, it’s a sexy contemporary romance.
Flynn and Wyatt’s story will repeatedly pull at your heartstrings throughout this beautifully written story. We’re taken to the past that will leave you with goosebumps and as these two cross paths once again there’s so much that has changed for both of them as individual. Seeing the determination Flynn has to not let go of what his heart wants has me cheering him on continuously yet at the same time I can understand Wyatt’s point of view as well. You will undoubtedly be grabbing for the tissues with this story as the past is revealed and we get to know these characters on a deeper level as they live their lives today. The pace for their story was perfect, the storyline flowed smoothly and you will never want to put your kindle down. I highly recommend you bring this to the top of your TBR list.
This book left me with a dreamy smile, unshed tears in my eyes and a heart full of hope and love. So far, this book is, without a doubt, my favorite by this author!
It's a part of the Fleurs d'amour series, but it can also be read as a standalone.
This time, we get to know Wyatt's story. And it is as sad as it is beautiful. We met her before and we knew she had something heavy from her past, but I had no idea what it was.
And as soon as I started reading, I was hooked.
The story was written with so many feelings. It had the sweetness that accompanied the whole series, and I loved that. All of the books in this series have that same sweet and embrancing warmth. And it also had some funny moments, specially when the girls were all together. And it wasn't something forced, that was "trying too much too hard" to be real. It just was.
But one thing that I thought it was different from the previous books was that it had a lot of angst moments. But in the right amount, it wasn't just plain painful, it was complex, and real and with so many emotions at the same time.
Wyatt and Flynn were more than lovers, they were Partners in Crime, even if people thought they were too young and imature. And maybe they were, but their love was real and all consuming.
But a tragedy changed them, changed their lives, such a painful occurrance that could mess with the wisest and most mature of the people. And being young, they had a hard time dealing with it, so their paths and their lives were altered. But not their love.
For so many years, they grieved and missed one another, for so many years they blamed themselves, for so many years they tried to move on with their lives based on "what ifs", and they even made great of their lives.
But something huge was missing. Something was always going to be missing, but other things could be fixed, they could find their way toward one another again.
"I know that I haven't felt this alive since the day I walked out on him ten years ago. It feels good to feel again, and I know that we are up to every challenge we'll face. As long as we face them together"
I loved their love, I felt their pain when they were hurting for all those years, and I loved to see them healing each other. It was powerful, bittersweet and fullfilling.
I also loved their loyalty. Their loyalty to their dreams after all they've been though. Their friends' loyalty towards them. How they all cared and rooted and cherished one another. They were all a big family that the heart chose.
I was so addicted to the story, I couldn't put the book down. I wanted to know their past, I wanted to fix their present, I wanted to see their future unveil before my eyes.
I wanted their happily ever after, I wanted their dream to come true. And their HEA so worth the wait.
Nope because I cannot stand badly-done second chance stories.
The hero and heroine are each other's soul-mates (!!!) and they get married at 18. However, when they lose their baby, it's too much pain for them so they start to live separated but they do not get a divorce. For 10 years, they both go out and sleep with other people, claiming they still love each other during this time.
So, you can be in love with one person but sleep with others and can stand being separated from the one you actually love for ten long years??? Huh, love my as*!!! (Excuse my French but I had to say it!)
The moral of the story:
Sleeping with other people for as many years as you like helps to forget about the painful events a couple experiences. After lots and lots of f*cking around, you can go back to your spouse all happy and renewed!
See my friend's review for detailed information about this awesome love story:
Wow. I’ve followed Amali and her Fleurs d’Amour series from the beginning, and I can honestly say, each one just gets better and better. I adore the main characters in each one and love that I get to revisit them as each story is told.
This one is Wyatt and Flynn. Not at all what I was expecting, but oh so good. Wyatt has always been one I wanted to know more about, so I’m glad she got her story. It’s both heartbreaking and exhilarating all in one. Both are as stubborn as each other which does make for some epic battles of will, and of course, some steamy action to follow. They’ve been to hell and back together, in a past that Wyatt kept hidden for so long.
I’m so happy with how this story went. I’ll admit, I was getting ready to throw my kindle for a minute there! And that ending! I was so close to a wee tear.
Another brilliant read from Amali Rose, and one I highly recommend.
They say time heals all wounds, but love is the ultimate solution. An emotional, second chance love story after suffering the most tragic of losses.
Their pain was so real. Their love was broken but not unmendable! This is Wyatt and Flynn’s story of healing each other.
They fell in love at fifteen. Got married at eighteen. Soon after, they lost everything.
The only way for Wyatt to move on, was to start over and leave the past behind. Some pain fades but it never goes away,. Wyatt still struggles to move on.
Flynn became a world famous rockstar, but he never stopped loving the girl who stole his heart. He let her go, but enough time has past. It’s been ten years...ten years too long. It’s time to reclaim what’s always been his. Flynn is ready for his forever.
This story was tragic. It will break your heart and then it will slowly put you back together piece-by-piece. Flynn and Wyatt were connected through their pain and their love. The things that tore them apart would ultimately bring them back together and help them heal. I have enjoyed this series immensely and this quickly became my favorite read by this author. This story was beautifully told; the pain and heartache, as well as the chemistry and love. A fantastic addition to the series.
Let me start off by saying I'm a mood reader. In order for me enjoy a book, I need to be in the mood to read it and today I was feeling like reading something that would push me past my boundaries. So I read this one after seeing multiple people review it (both good and bad) and wanted to see what it was all about. Cheating is one of those things that is tricky to try and get around/redeem in a romance book (at least for me) but I guess the way the story was written, I didn't really read it as a romance. More like it was just a story. And because of that attitude, this book worked for me.
While they were still legally married, they were separated and BOTH OF THEM were living as single people. For me to accept this, BOTH OF THEM have to have moved on (and it has to be good. It can't just be the guy hooking up with every woman around while the girl gets to have a really bad and/or unsatisfying relationship during the time they're apart). I got the impression that they both had emotionless hookups/just good sex, and I was good with that because the heroine didn't consider herself married anymore.
I couldn't rate it higher than 3.5 stars though because there were a couple of things that bothered me. Like, if the friend didn't call Flynn, he never would have gone to see her, therefore there wouldn't be a reconciliation. But she did, so they did. I also wasn't a fan of Gisele and the fact there was some history there, but again, because Wyatt accepted they both had a past, then I got over it pretty quick. But I did bump it up to clicking on 4 stars here on goodreads because 1. GR doesn't do half stars, and 2. the epilogue was super sweet and made their journey back to each other complete.
I'm a sucker for marriage in trouble books but I often struggle with them because the heroine always seems to have such a shit time during the separation. But this didn't happen here so I was happy for them to try to repair their relationship and reconnect. And while this book won't work for many, it certainly made me curious enough to read more from this author.

Breathing Wisteria is my first Amali Rose book and I am so in love with her writing! A brooding, off the charts hot, intense as hell and uber alpha Rock god. A smart, sassy, beautiful and strong artist. And now imagine the most heartbreaking and life-changing story of second chance eternal love. And how can I not fall in love with this book?
Wyatt and Flynn has a big ugly secret hiding inside. They were childhood sweethearts and got married young. They thought love is enough to conquer the world. But some pain is too big and too devastating to survive. And they left each other as they were unable to cope with it. Now years later Flynn is a Rock god and Wyatt is living alone with her new life. But they still crave each other. And Flynn has decided they have wasted enough time in mourning past. He wants her back. But the tension of celebrity life, conspiring people the expectations and old issues are trying to ruin everything again. Can they find their way back to the small pergola covered in Wisteria?
Amali Rose has written a beautiful story. Second chance starcrossed lovers is one of my most favorite trope. She poured so much deep feelings in this couple. The chemistry runs deeper than scorching hot physical attraction. It's like they can't breathe without each other. It was something all of us crave. And that is overwhelming passion of true love. Amali Rose has a perfect love story for you. The pain and happiness both were equally exquisite. My heart was breaking for them and I am so so glad they found their HEA.
It was intense, angsty and passionate. It was swoony and heartwarming. It was a celebration of forever kind of love. Amali Rose has created perfection.
I looooove to love this story. I’ve read it three times already and made my first ever teaser images for it. I wouldn’t have normally read a book with some of the content that’s included in this one, but it’s done so beautifully that not only did I read it but I also went back and re read it twice. Wyatt is, sigh, Wyatt is so beautifully broken. She is the strong independent, ploughing through life, hiding her pain and forging onwards. Gosh, she is so me. She doesn’t need a man or a woman or anyone else, except that she totally does. Oh, how I’ve been there. When you need your man to just stand and be present with you, to hold you while your life is ripped apart, while you’re never the same again. And sometimes they can, but sometimes they can’t, and that’s hard. It’s not rubbed in your face and you’re not dragged through the mire. The emotion is there, without you needing to be in the trenches, you know? Its just done really, really, well. And Flynn! Well, wouldn’t we all like a little luck of the Irish, particularly when it comes packaged as this sexy, romantic, heartthrob! He is practically swoon worthy, most of the time I loved it, I loved the stories and the characters, what an amazing journey! Thank you Amali Rose for such a trip
Wyatt and Flynn have a complicated and messy past, one that is full of heartbreak and emotion. It is a past that Wyatt has kept from her friends but as they all start to settle down and start families, it becomes harder for her to leave her past in her past. This brings Flynn back to town briefly. Now a successful musician, he has the world at his feet and women falling over themselves for him but he has never forgotten Wyatt. The chemistry is still there between them but they need to deal with their emotions and their pasts.
Just when you think everything is going to be ok between them, a threat arises from a completely direction showing the dark side of the entertainment industry. It is a question if they will survive this new threat after everything.
These characters showed their vulnerability and wore their hearts on their sleeves. It was an emotional and heartbreaking journey but somehow together they are stronger and more able to deal with whatever life throws at them. A beautiful, heart wrenching read that will have you reaching for the tissues.
Wow, what a hair raising start to the story..it hooks you right in and the story continues to absorb you until the last page.
Wyatt Monroe and Flynn Maguire, what a couple..sigh! ‘Nough said!
I love the characters in this story, the previous ones are great but I think Wyatt and Flynn are my favourites. Yes he is a hot, alpha rockstar but he is so much more and so easy to like. Wyatt’s fears and stresses are real and easy to relate to as well. Now Giselle, she is truly bad. This author really knows how to create a very evil character, make them create chaos and mayhem and take readers on an emotional journey where they want to scratch her eyeballs out!
I really like the wit in this story, often a tad cynical & very sarcastic but oh so funny! A lot of it is self directed though so not harmful to others and very innocent..apart from Cassidy who has snark down to a true art form but that in and of itself is humorous too. There are a couple of darker issues in the story that are very sad but are dealt with extremely well and smoothly.
To quote “OH. MY. Fleeking. Gooseberry.” this book is AMAAAZZING! For starters how can you not love a story where the characters are named Wyatt and Flynn, yes Wyatt is a chick only increasing the awesomeness. EEEKKK!
Whenever I read an Amali Rose book I feel bipolar after I turn the last page which I actually love (haha). Ugh I knew at the beginning I was going to shed a few tears not only because of the direction of the story but I KNOW this author’s writing. Do you hear her evil laugh now? She gets me every time. Why do you do it then, you ask? Because nothing is wrong with a good cathartic cry (hee hee) and she is so brilliant she can flip it in the next chapter. Yes I will be laughing so hard I either scare my dog or almost wet myself.
Ok I have prattled on enough, back to the story. I love Wyatt and Flynn. They have a great second-chance love story to tell. Wyatt being an artist and Flynn a rockstar keeps the intrigue high. They have dealt with a horrible loss, causing a lengthy break in their relationship. I am a spoiler free kind of gal so you will just have to read the book to know what I am talking about (wink). Oh I do need to mention this couple does know how to spice up the page (lordy, fanning myself).
What really makes this story a win-win. We get the rest of the cast from the Fleurs d’amour novels. YEAH! Yes this is a stand-alone (blah blah) and can be read without reading the others by WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU WANT TO?! OMG I love all the characters so much and my girl, Cassidy, is back to slay me with her irreverent, sarcastic humor. Boy she has a mouth on her. It is always unfiltered, causing my bouts of uncontrolled laughter. She will always be the icing on the cake in any story she is in. I could talk about this book forever as is indicated by the length of this review. So I will shut up now. Eek one last thing. Happy Reading!
Flynn and Wyatt have history. Their story was full of love, past history, good and bad emotions. They've been through a horrible experience and while they needed each other, they took a break from each other. A long break, but the love they have for each other is always the forefront of it all. While they're coping with the past, they also can't live without each other. They know deep down, they're meant for each other. I couldn't put this book down. I loved the first 3 books in this group of friends. It was great seeing the other gals from the past 3 books in here.
Fate and who you're supposed to be with will always find their way back to each other even through tragedy. Loved Flynn so much. This book is emotional but also love seeing them get their HEA.
5* Star must read!! Amali has once again written a beautiful story that is not just a romance novel it is pure Love shown in words and I could not put it down, it's fast paced and emotional and once you read the first few words you won't be able to put it down until you've finished I know I didn't.
I don't want to say to much other than it's an amazing read and one that will have you going through quite a few emotions I laughed, cried and almost smashed my phone like I said it's emotional.
Well done to Amali on another 5* book I absolutely loved it and can't wait to buy it in paperback 💞
Wow this is a must read that will have you hooked trough out this story as i stayed up all night to read this book because it is a page turner. This is a second chance at being together and love that is spread out throughout this book.
The five stars are not for an exceptional book but rather that the writer created exceptional real characters that have not lived their lives bound to some phantasmal bond that exists only in the cult of the faithfulness when separated by words uttered in bereavement.
Unless I was reading a different book,I highly doubt that the hero and heroine of the story deliberately orchestrated a miscarriage in an effort to secure the rights to 10 years of free sex with other people.Yes they were still married but separated by mutual agreement (though more on the grief ravaged heroine's part than the confused, guilt ridden hero's side) and by unforeseen tragedy. Neither sought permanent legal severing with maybe the slightest hope that one day they would be by some miracle reunited.
The average human lifespan is 27,375 days and since neither character took a vow of abstinence nor chastity nor belonged to any religious sect it would be logical for an author for once to create two rational beings who did not waste 3650 days in bitter darkness.
For me personally the book had no cheating (no descriptive sexual scenes with other people past or present) for all the reasons I have outlined above.
Another great read by Amali which I think this has to be my favorite out all the books in the series. I don't want to give much away since not out yet. But this is a page turn and it play with my demo too in a good way.
What an innocent and sweet story of second chance, which I love; not to mention a good rocker story and this one takes the cake. The storyline was well written and flowed perfectly. Breathing Wisteria had me in tears and also had me wanting to throw my kindle.
The characters are perfect for each other. The author really makes you feel the love that they have had for each other all of those years. My heart broke for everything they had to endure. They had so many obstacles to overcome.
I have read all of the A Fleurs d’ amour Novels and have enjoyed all of them although but this one is my favorite. Amali Rose is a fairly new author to me and is quickly becoming a one-click author. I cannot wait to read more of Amali’s work.
Omg! I love Amali Rose's books! Breathing Wisteria is something else. I love Wyatt and somethings she goes through I can relate to. PLus you have Flynn the hot rockstar who also has his issues but has his eyes set on Wyatt. I fell in love with the story and chemistry between them. YOu really need to read this and trust me when I say you will fall in love. I cant wait to read more books from the amazing Amali!
What a sweet and hot second chance romance. I will say that Flynn is swoon worthy, and I loved Wyatt's sassiness and her strength.
Now with everything that Wyatt has been through she believes herself to be broken. She has kept some pretty big secrets from her friends. We all know how things like that can bite you in the rear at the most inopportune times. When her past comes to her present she finally starts to deal with a heartbreaking tragedy that happened 10 years ago. My heart hurt for her and am so happy she was able to get what she deserves in life.
Flynn has loved Wyatt most of his life and when he finds out she is not really doing ok he makes sure to get to her. Their reunion is filled with laughs, tears, and a little bit of anger. He proved to her that they are meant for each other and refuses to let her push him away as he did 10 years earlier.
I understand this is book is not the first book in the series, but you can definitely read this as a standalone. I didn't feel like I was missing any info as this book was based on Wyatt and Flynn. I will have to check the other books out, because I just know Cassidy's story will have me laughing out loud.
Oh, the heartache and love in this story. Devastating things can happen in life, and Amali does a beautiful job, showing the heartache of such a moment through these characters. I loved Wyatt and Flynn. You could feel their connection and pain bleed through the pages. Each determined in their own way, yet having that undeniable pull. I cannot wait to see what Amali comes up with next.
Breathing Wisteria is a hits you right in the feels, you can feel the heart breaking pain Flynn and Wyatt are both trying to get past. It's honest, raw and emotional. Amali pulled me right into this story and I felt as though the characters grief as my own. This is another 5 star read from this author, I can't wait to see what amali rose comes up with next.
This author is one of my favorite! This book like the ones before it are amazing! Flynn and Wyatt story is heartbreaking and beautiful. These characters have chemistry and bring out the best in each other. The secrets between friends. The love between friends and the heartbreak kept me captivated by this story. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. *Magic Beyond The Covers Book Blog*
Amali Rose has done it again. She gets better with each new book she writes. This time it's with Wyatt's story in Breathing Wisteria. Although it is a standalone, it has all your favourite characters from the Fleurs d'amour series, to add a little extra love and support, and some laughs thrown in for good measure. If you love stories that give you the feels, (as well as an Irish guy named Flynn determined to keep nothing in the way for his love for Wyatt) then this book is for you.
I Voluntarily Reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book!
Yep! Another beautiful love story by Amali Rose. This second chance love story will have you gasping for more and swooning over the sexy Rockstar. Sacrifices were made. Grief was inevitable and love was destined. However, sometimes love is not enough when life happens. Excellent story telling, Amali! Absolutely would recommend it!!!
I'm ALWAYS going to one-click Amali. There is something incredibly engaging about her writing, and this woman, I totally adore! So, Wyatt and Flynn have a complicated history, one that true love is only ever going to overcome.
One thing I really love about Amali's series, is the character cameos! Cassidy is still my favourite sassy sista, but now Flynn, is my total fave mista of her books. Swoony-worthy to ridiculous proportions with all the one liners that get you in the feels.
