The Art Of Love (Love In Italy Book 2) Kindle Edition
Struggling artist Oliver London will do whatever it takes to keep his dream alive—whether it’s posing as a figure model, surviving on the bare essentials, and sharing his dingy apartment with a spirited Jack Russell Terrier.
With no time or means for a relationship, Oliver has resigned himself to a solitary life. Besides, his heart has never truly moved on from the one who got away.
Stori Ryder’s turbulent past has fueled her relentless drive to succeed. Now, as the owner of Whisky River, Manhattan’s hottest speakeasy, she’s laser-focused on her goals. Romance? It’s not part of her five-year plan.
She’s never forgotten the boy who once held her heart—the one who vanished without explanation, leaving her to wonder what could have been.
Two decades ago, Oliver and Stori shared a love that felt infinite. First love, after all, leaves an indelible mark—a connection that time and distance can’t erase.
When mutual friends invite them to a lavish wedding cruise along the French Riviera, their paths collide once more. Suddenly, the past comes rushing back: the stolen kisses, the electric touches, the love that never truly faded.
But can they make it last forever this time?

About the author

USA TODAY bestselling author, Leslie Pike, has loved expressing herself through the written word since she was a child. The first romance “book” she wrote was at ten years old. The scene, a California Beach. The hero, a blonde surfer. The ending, happily forever after.
Leslie’s passion for film and screenwriting eventually led her to Texas for eight years, writing for a prime time CBS series. She’s traveled the world as part of film crews, from Africa to Israel, New York to San Francisco. Now she finds her favorite creative adventures taking place in her home, in Southern California, writing Contemporary Romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Joy To Read!
Verified PurchaseA joy to read! I was so in love from the very beginning. Stori and Oliver were together when they were younger and now after many years apart, they are reconnected through friends. A sweet, feel-good, emotional, second chance romance and I enjoyed every single moment of it. Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sexceptional is Exceptional
Verified PurchaseI love romance novels, and I'll give most anything a try because you never know when you'll find an author you love. I wasn't sure what to expect from this book because I had never read Leslie Pike before, and the title... well, I didn't know what I was getting. When these two characters reconnect again after so many years apart, I was hooked. I just love the way she wrote it, and I couldn't put it down because I had to see how it progressed. I loved the story, and there were a couple points where you weren't sure if it was going to go sideways for them, but it worked out in true HEA fashion. Definitely give this book a try if you're looking for a good love story!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good second chance romance
Verified PurchaseThis was a heartwarming second chance romance. Stori and Oliver were torn apart at 16, but now in their 30's they are getting a second chance to see where things go. When their best friends get married, Oliver and Stori are taken for the vacation of their lives and that trip changes everything for them.
I loved the fierce protectiveness of Oliver and Stori was a strong person also. They didn't let the past slow them down or linger too much on what had happened. I loved that they were ready to move forward in the present. I loved the interaction with some of the characters and their pets. It shows another side of a person and I loved seeing it come out of Oliver and some of the other characters. This was a good read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing compared to first book
Verified Purchase-Disappointing. I gave 5 stars to the first book. This story is the complete opposite of the first story.
-The editing needs a serious professional pass: "of whatever their drinking" (they're), "he's a little to handsy" (too), "hors devours" (oeuvres). Something to do with plurals all through the book too "There's tears" vs. there are...
-A bit too crude to my taste. Oliver pleasures himself left and right using a vocabulary that doesn't belong with the rest of it. The whole cruise scenes, which is several chapters is only about open door activity between Oliver and Stori, nothing else, and it's pretty boring too.
-The story itself is at a weird pace, like she wrote parts of it and tried to put everything back together. It's also pretty much predictable, even the parts when they were teenagers and they couldn't communicate.
-Most of it was believable, which I liked. I also liked the section when all the cells go off at the same time, meaning the message was important and urgent.
