Have you ever read a book that makes you emotionally sob and comfort eat within in the first few chapters? Well look no further because I Never Planned on You has just secured its spot in my top reads of 2019.
This is a story of heartbreak and love, hope and acceptance, learning that it’s ok to love and be happy again.
I couldn’t believe it when I was told that this was Stefanie’s debut book because her writing is just beautiful and heart wrenching. I found myself crying hysterically and then laughing my ass off, then throwing my kindle!
Danielle goes through a hell of a lot and her character development is flawless. I felt her every emotion down to the core, where I was feeling sick in my belly because I was experiencing the heartbreak right along with her.
”It’s in that very moment when I realize that this girl…this girl is everything…my everything. She is my world. I would do anything for her. I need to make her smile, to make her laugh, to make her feel that she is enough. I want to fill all the cracks in her broken heart and pray she never has to know that kind of pain again. I want to go to sleep with her every night in my arms and wake up the same, kissing her and showing her what she means to me.”
Kyler... oh my sweet and swoony Kyler. That man! He is so understanding and the things he does not only for Dani but for her family made me fall so hard for him.
This book was stunning! Exceptional. You should all read it. If you don’t you are missing out massively.

I Never Planned On You was a very emotional read.

When the one thing that she always fell back on, her safety net and love of her life get taken from her Dany runs away. This creates tension between her and her brother (who I have claimed as MINE.)
When our girl comes back the first thing she sees is Kyler
*cue in the fireworks*
The attraction is there but in the back of Dany's mind is her first love.
This book will give you ALL the feels. The buildup between Dany and Ky is so intense you explode alongside them. This book definitely has a little bit of everything. It makes you laugh and cry...and the sexy times WHOA.
The sexy times are insanely hot.
This is one debut you don't want to miss. ♥

😓Wtf did I just experience, Wrecked Emotionally
I cried , I cried some more and then when I thought there was nothing left I curled up in the foetal position and cried some more. The hurt that Danielle felt when she lost “ Emmett” the boy she had loved since she was 13 years old, they had plans and dreams and were going to live and grow old together. Life was as it was meant to be, until tragedy strikes and Emmett is taken from this world and allDanielles Dreams are gone.
The pain that Danielle experiences jumps out of the pages into you and you feel and experience her pain as if it has happened to you
The hurt is real and raw , very rarely has a book made me feel this way and I was a bloody mess. I started to relive my own pain of losing a loved one , not a partner like our leading lady but a loved one where the hurt was intense.
The journey we are taken on with Danielle and how she is thrown into a world without Emmett,
Years pass and so much happens ( you need to read as I’m nit going to spoil it for you) and without realising it Live knocks on Danielle’s door again ( sort of 🤣) in the form of her brothers best friend. Can she do this again after losing Emmett also her brothers best friend.
We are taken in the moving forward with her , the guilt felt by doing so the strange feelings that she begins to feel and likes.
Then realising that by not allowing herself this chance of living again and being loved that she is disrespecting the memory of Emmett, he had his chance of a forever and always taken from him for them and she was wasting the chance she was given even though it was not with Emmett
I learnt and realised so much being able to experience and learn and grow with Danielle in her stages of recovering from grief and allowing herself to be able to experience falling in love and being loved again when she meets Kyler.
Kyler a truely remarkable young man who sees and wants to help heal the young woman he meets and falls in love with.
The permission scene “ spoiler alert” between Kyler and Emmett had me reaching for the tissues again
Copious amounts of coffee was drunk by myself to get through this book
Thank you Stefanie you broke my heart but you
also taught me that moving on is a normal part of life but it is also a journey that for each individual may be a different passage of time. Grief and loss is not a path we want to take but it is inevitable unfortunately.
I now know I can take the chance and like Danielle survive so I can go on and read similar stories where I will cry bucket loads of tears go through copious amounts of tissues and have my kids ask me “ what the hell is wring mum” 🤣😂

Holy crap the emotional rollercoaster Stefanie takes you on with this book is out of control. I swooned, I cried, I raged, I laughed, and all those back again. You read it and you're like there's no way this book is Stef's debut it's just too good.
Your heart goes out to each and every one of the characters in this story. You want to hug them and slap them at the same time at some points in the book.
Kyler is the type of hero you know he was heaven sent just for Danielle.
You need this book in your life like right now and I will be hounding Stef until she gives me book 2.

September 27, 2022I Never Planned on You. Where do I start? This book made me feel ALL the emotions. Stefanie Jenkins took me on a rollercoaster. From the beginning I fell in love with Dani and her childhood sweetheart, and then my heart was ripped out. I felt everything along with these characters. Watching Dani evolve and come out of the other side, and meet the swoony Kyler... I was rooting for them SO hard!
Be prepared for this book, it will give you ALL the feels! And some very sexy scenes along the way!

Oh my world!!!! Talk about all the feels, and I do mean ALL of them.
I was given a copy of this book as an ARC. After talking to others who’d read it before for the author, I thought I knew what to expect. I was wrong. Completely, totally and utterly. WRONG. Talk about raw emotion!!!!
This book is everything. It completely wrecked me, and wrung every emotion possible from me.
I started it this morning and finished it a couple of hours ago. The housework went out the window, the hubby and sons are big enough and ugly enough to fend for themselves, so they dialled for food, and the phone went unanswered .
Stefanie is a brand new author and I Never Planned on You her debut. Take a bow Stefanie Jenkins. This is one hell of a debut. 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Talk about coming onto the scene in a big way, Stefanie Jenkins does just that with I Never Planned on You! I don't even know where to start with this book, everything about it is absolutely phenomenal!
Dani, oh man was my heart ripped out right along with hers, it still hurts for her. Dani's story is heartbreaking and raw. Jenkins makes you feel everything down in your soul. Heartbreak like Dani went through is difficult at any age but at the age of 17 is more devastating beyond words. To have your world ripped apart like that is just annihilating, and I completely understand how she wasn't able to cope.
Then there is Kyler, the brother's new roommate and best friend. He is the hero we all wish to find. He is the best thing for Dani, kind, loving, understanding.
Dani and Kyler's relationship is exactly what she needs. Kyler came into her life and showed her that she can love again and that it's ok to. The only way to describe their love story is epic!
This book will leave you emotionally raw, and heartbroken, but at the same time so incredibly happy that Dani is able to find her happy after such tragedy.
I have never read a debut novel better than I Never Planned on You! If this story is any indication Stefanie Jenkins is about to take the book world by storm! I cannot wait for everyone to read this book! I wish I could give more than 5 stars for this book, it deserves so many more!!

I am not sure what it was about this book but omg, I was on the verge of tears the whole time. Not out right cry, but really close. And for me, that is HUGE. My heart broke but my heart also mended with this stunning story of finding that epic love, loss and overcoming so much to open your heart again to love. I couldn’t imagine the pain that Dani and everyone endured in this story. With how things played out, I honestly could not blame Dani for doing what she did. Seeing and breathing all the pain could very much overwhelm a person like it did for Dani. But I really enjoyed seeing how much she fought to overcome it. Enter Kyler. Her brother’s best friend in the now, and she is thrown for a loop. Seeing their connection was raw and how it all played out had me giggling at times but also breaking because Dani was trying so hard and Kyler kept fighting for her. Their push and pull plus some crazy meltdowns made this story very intense and raw.
Overall, this is the first book by this author ever. For a debut, I really loved it and how it all came together. I am so looking forward to seeing what more this author can do if this story was this good. I highly recommend this book if you want a heartbreaking but heartfelt story that will inspire you even if you are so broken you feel you cannot move on!

I’ve been trying to write this review for hours but how do you describe a book that made you feel so much? This book was raw, real and had me ugly crying on multiple occasions.
Dani and Emmett have their whole lives planned out- they have a love that most people dream about- until the unthinkable happens and Emmett dies. Dani is lost and is consumed with grief, she leaves her whole life behind- leaving her family devastated.
After years, Dani returns home and nothing is the same. She meets her brother’s roommate, Kyler, and he is instantly attracted.. but Dani is still drowning.
Dani’s character development was amazing. Kylers patience, understanding and strength made him the ideal book boyfriend. The love Kyler has for Dani, and the respect he has for the trauma she has gone through was everything.
I Never Planned on You was such an emotional rollercoaster- it’s devastating.. but it’s also beautiful and I loved every moment. If I could rate this book 10 stars I would. I’m so excited to read more from Stefanie Jenkins.

I was given the opportunity to read an early copy of this book. This is a debut novel for Stefanie and once you read it you'll ask yourself "are you sure this is her first book."
You will get sucked in from the very first page. It is so well written, you feel part of the story, the characters are relatable and well developed.
Now be ready for intense emotion.. you WILL feel it with this book. You are right there feeling everything with the characters.
If you love a book that will rip your heart out, make you ugly cry and put you back together piece by piece this is the book for you!
Stefanie has created a book that People will talk about. Tell their friends to read it. This is a book that stays with you long after you have finished.

Very good book from a new to me author. I instantly fell in love with Emmett, so much so that when the book did that twisty thing they sometimes do I still pined for him. He was sweet, and you could tell he truly loved Dani, as she did him, even if they were quite young. Hey, when you know, you know. My heart went out to Dani and all the characters. I kept thinking how can they come back from this? How can someone pick up the pieces and come back from the brink of heart-ache and dispair?
You meet Kyler and realize, this is how you move on, you let him help you see that their is always something to look forward to. He was patient, kind and funny.
I will say, as other reviews have said, you will need a tissue or two. Wish I can write which scenes got to me, but think I'll let you decide which scenes caused my heart strings to pull, should you decide to give this book and author a try.

This book made me an emotional, blubbering mess but it was amazing. Jenkins did a fantastic job of making you feel every emotion possible during this book. She wrote the story and characters so beautifully. I can't wait to read more from Jenkins!

An emotional and endearing story that captured me from the start.
A story of strong young love, loss and moving on.
Dani and Emmet had a love that was so sweet and moving i honestly didnt think Dani would find another love that was equally great has Emmets but oh boy in comes Kyler and he is one hell of a man.
I loved this book it has amazing character's and is written beautifully, i so cant wait to read book 2.

Read this book and Stefanie will rip your heart out. It’s amazing this is her first book and for sure this ain't her last one that I read! There was so much rawness in this book, and I loved it!
This started out really sad, Danielle lost her love at such a young age leaving only their promises. Dani’s story is so heartbreaking, raw, and emotionally real. I was invested, my heart was in pieces and I just cried, I cried for her and her loss. You get a glimpse of what she had with her first love and you would cry even more that she couldn't ever have that again.
When she finally heals, she finds something she never expects. A second chance at love. Kyler knows the second he laid eyes on Dani, he's a goner. He is a perfect sweetheart and gentleman as their relationship starts and progresses.
Dani and Kyler are so perfect for each other, their love is honest and raw and will have you shipping them the moment they met. Kyler is the light to her dark. He brings out the light in her and helps her see that change is good, she can let herself love again. This is a beautiful story about self-discovery, self-healing and second chances.
If you want something real, raw and loaded with emotions, you have got to read this one! This was just exceptional!

So many emotions! This book tore my heart out, stomped on it a few times. I felt every emotion that Danielle felt. It’s hard to write this review without giving something away. This book was a roller coaster. I felt their joy and happiness, then wallowed in their pain and and grief, then felt the healing and then happiness again. This is proof of the great writing in which the characters feel so real. This book was different in that, for me, it started off amazing and later in the book it wasn’t pulling me in as much anymore. I’d say that’s the only thing keeping me from giving this book 5 stars. The story was still very good but just not as great. I’m very much looking forward to the next book. Don’t want to mention any names though and give anything away!

Can't say enough good things!
Let me preface this by saying that I'm not a crier when I read. I'm just not. So when I tell you that you're going to need a box of tissues when you read this book, believe me. And maybe have a spare box.
I seriously have no words to describe this book. I fell in love with Dani and Emmett immediately, and even reading about how happy and in love they were broke my heart, because I knew what was coming. And when it came, so did the floodgate of tears as I grieved with Dani and felt her heartbreak. And then, just as I wanted to throw the book out the window, Kyler appeared. I loved how he slowly helped Dani pick up the pieces of her broken heart. How he held her when she cried and gave her space when she needed it. How he was there for her as a friend, even though he desperately wanted more. How he slowly coaxed her back out of her shell and got her doing things she loved again. And, mini spoiler, how he gave her not one, but two chances to stop him before kissing her the first time. He was seriously the sweetest. This book made me ugly cry, happy cry, smile, laugh, dance, and sing. It ripped my heart into a million pieces and then put it back together again. I seriously can't say enough good things about it. If I could give it more than five stars, I would. Well done, Stefanie! This was an amazing debut, and I can't wait to see what comes next.

This book ripped my heart out. I felt every tear Dani shed. I wanted to hold her and tell her that it will get better. I loved Kyler, this easy going guy that loves his sisters. He had a special relationship with the women in his family and I believe that is exactly what he needed to give Dani a second chance. He was patient and kind when she needed a friend. He was aggressive and took control when she needed a man. This was a very good and easy read, through the unshed tears of course.

I Never Planned On You is the first book I’ve read by Stefanie Jenkins and I cannot believe that this book is her debut novel. I Never Planned On You was such a beautiful book and so hard to put down! This isn’t your usual Romance story because this book deals also with heartbreak, hope, loss, family and friendship.
I really loved Danielle and Kyler. Danielle went through so much, and she practically ran away from her problems. She finally decides to come home and when she does, she meets Kyler. Kyler is such a kind, understanding and amazing guy. He also has two sisters, a twin, and it’s so fun to read about their relationship.
I Never Planned On You was such a beautiful and emotional book. There were times that I was constantly crying and it was so hard to read the words with tears in my eyes. I think that Stefanie Jenkins did an amazing job and I cannot wait to read the sequel, I Never Expected You!

I haven't read such an emotional book in such a long time, and I mean an emotional book that will put me through the wringer. I had to have a full box of tissues next to me and it seriously had my heart in turmoil.
To have to read a book this emotionally heartbreaking really had me wishing I found this author sooner. I may like my books normally dark and depraved but I sometimes do crave these books that make me emotionally devastated in a sweet and nice way, nonetheless it's sad and heartbreaking.
I cannot express how much this book affected me because of what Dani went through. Whenever someone loses a loved one, no matter the circumstances, or in which way, it's always devastating, whether it's a break-up or a death it doesn't matter. It hurts either way. And it is always hard to move on especially if you loved that person unconditionally.
I did fall in love with Kyler and how much he cared for Dani and how he went over and beyond for her. He certainly deserved all the stars for how good he was to her.
This book has won my heart in all the ways you can possibly think of <3

You’ll Need Tissues
I Plan On Forever popped into my Amazon Australia feed as a new author suggestion. Gotta love kindle unlimited as it’s got me reading so many new authors I’ve never heard of. Anywoo I checked reviews and found it was book 3 in a 4 part series so I started reading book 1, I Never Planned On You and I fell in love with Emmett and Danielle’s love story but keep the tissues handy 😢
Not having read a Stefanie Jenkins before I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised as this isn’t your predictable romance. The main and secondary characters are strong and likeable and the story flows at a good pace.
Danielle finds the love of her life when still a young girl in her brother’s best friend Emmett. They plan forever, college, marriage and a life together but life doesn’t always run to plan. I don’t want to spoil what’s in this story but I will say I Never Planned On You is worth the read and yes there is a happily ever after.

I'd make her smile for the rest of my life if she'll let me one day.
It has been SO long since I was able to just read a book. I've had so many ARC's lately, and I can't remember the last time I just chose a book and read it for the fun of it. Stefanie is a new to me author, but apparently I've been seriously missing out.
Dani had been through so much pain. At times, I wanted to be frustrated with her, but she was going through so much it was hard not to feel sympathetic towards her. Sometimes, I thought maybe she was being selfish in her grief, but then when I put myself in her shoes, I realized she was acting and feeling exactly how I imagine someone in her shoes would be acting. The character growth she had throughout the book was amazing. By the end of the book she was at a place in her life that I wasn't even sure she would ever reach.
It's in that very moment when I realize that this girl...this girl is everything..my everything. She is my world. I would do anything for her.
Is Kyler a saint? He might be. He is probably one of the most understanding and incredible book boyfriends I've ever read. His love for Dani made him patient and it made him kind. He wanted nothing more than to wait for her to be ready to be with him. Seriously, Stefanie wrote like the best man ever.
This book was everything. It made me sad, it made me angry, it made me laugh, and it made me smile. I probably went through every emotion while reading, and I'm really sad that it took me this long to find this book and read it. If you are looking for an emotional, yet heartbreakingly beautiful read- this is the book for you. This may have been my first book by Stefanie, but it definitely won't be my last.
This book is definitely getting 5 STARS from me. How could it not? It literally had the makings for a fantastic read. You won't regret giving this one a change, I know I didn't.

This is the first book that I've read by this author and I didn't know what to expect. However i'm
extremely glad I did as this book was a beautiful read. This book is written fantastically so be prepared and to shed some tears.
This is book #1 I Never planned on you.
Dani has had her life planned out just how she wanted it since she was very young or she though that she had that was until fate, life stepped in and decided no, things change.
Danielle goes through a hell of a lot, she goes through a complete traumatic experience and her world is blown apart. Dani's whole journey through is extremely tough.
Kyler is a lovely, sweet, loyal man who is absoulutley beautiful. Kyler is very understanding and seems to be the one thing that Dani needs and he seems to know how to get to her. Kyler tries to show Dani that it is okay to love again and tells her its okay. They go through acceptance and he helps her to love and understand.
This author her style of writing is awesome, this book will send your emotions on a total emotional roller-coaster it will have your laughing and crying at the same time. This book is so emotional and this book is full of love, heartbreaking times, very very raw and some hope and understanding later.
This is author has written these characters absolutely fabulous she has got it spot on, she really knew how to make the characters connect with the reader and I couldn't put this book down I just had to read on. This book will keep you fully engaged.
I really felt what these characters were going though and sometimes it was so very difficult and I felt my heart breaking.
I cant wait to read the next book by this author and I will be highly recommending this book to everyone.

This book is emotional. If I had a ‘Top Emotional List’ this book would hands down be #1. Once you read the blurb you know what’s coming so from the very first pages the tears were flowing. Stefanie Jenkins took you there, made you live it, had your heart fall in love with theirs and just rip it to pieces. There is so much pain, and heart break, and love and rebuilding. This book makes The Notebook seem like a rom-com.
I highly recommend this book!

I Never Planned On You I found to be a beautiful love story with love and loss, and finding the strength to not only begin again but to find love again. I loved following Danielle's story first with Emmett, then with Kyler. As the first book from this author that I read, I found the writing to be full of emotions and well worth reading. Be sure to have tissues handy, as they will be needed.

Just.. AMAZING!!! The first half of the book I felt like my heart was going to literally rip from my chest. BUT!!! The present and future is something to look forward to in some hot sizzling ways!! I didn’t realize that this book was Stefanie’s FIRST BOOK?!?! She was destined to be an author! It was seriously in the stars! It was that good! I’m looking forward to reading book 2 right now!!

Kyler has heard about Dani for years from his best friend. The mystery sister no one hears from, until one day she decides to come home. What he didn’t expect when she knocked on their door was for her to be so beautiful. Then again time can chance someone. Never could he have imagined that his dream girl would be his best friends’ sister or that she would be hesitant. Will he be able to convince her to take a chance on him?
I really did enjoy Dani and Kyler. I thought their love was beautiful and any story that can actually make me cry deserves a high five. There was just one thing I didn’t like and that was how Dani cut everyone out of her life for years but never did anything to move on and I struggled with that. I could understand being hesitant when it comes to relationships when her and Kyler start off, but I really wish she would have done some sort of self-healing beforehand where she was just stagnant.
Even with that said Jenkins killed it. I Never Planned on You was a beautiful heartbreaking kind of story that will shred you then piece you back together. It is very much so one-click worthy.

I had the privilege of receiving an ARC of this book and let me just start by saying you better have a box of tissues ready at your side. It was a serious emotional ride. Stefanie takes you on such a journey of love, loss, heartache and devastation that had me sobbing at points.
