Rodeo cowboy Boone Telford feels like he’s running out of time to make his mark. By his age, his father was an All-Around-Cowboy multiple times and his siblings are all highly accomplished in their fields. Boone vows that this is his year to stand out and finally be a champion as long as he remains focused, but a beautiful masseuse he met on a quick detour to the beach has given him a glimpse of a happy life that doesn’t involve buckles or prize money. Is loving Piper and settling down on his family’s Montana ranch giving up his dreams and destiny? When he pulls into his home town of Marietta, he knows it’s now or never, and he probably needs to let Piper go. Masseuse Piper Wiley is doing the one thing she swore she never would–following a man who's chasing his career from town to town. The daughter of an Army colonel, Piper’s lived all over the world, but has always craved permanence and belonging. Meeting Boone was unexpected and powerful. Love at first sight. But can she convince her cowboy to finally come home and make his mark with her?
Sinclair has loved reading romance novels since she discovered Barbara Cartland historical romances when she was in sixth grade. By seventh grade, she was haunting the library shelves looking to fall in love over and over again with the heroes born from the imaginations of her favorite authors. After teaching writing classes and workshops to adults and teens for many years in Seattle and Portland, she returned to her first love of reading romances and became an editor for Tule Publishing last year. Sinclair lives in Oregon’s wine country where she and her family own a small vineyard of Pinot Noir and where she dreams of being able to write at a desk like Jane Austen instead of in parking lots waiting for her kids to finish one of their 12,000 extracurricular activities.
Boone Telford is the only child of Taryn Telford not to make a mark in the world. One of his brothers, Rohan, is a decorated special forces soldier, his brother Witt is a doctor, his little sister Riley is a successful country singer, all he is is a semi-successful cowboy on the rodeo circuit. His father was a mega successful bull rider who went on to save the family ranch, he wants Boone to work on the ranch but Boone doesn't want to be known as Taryn's son or Witt's younger brother, or Riley's older brother, he just wants to be known for his own achievements.
Boone has been dating/ travelling with Piper Wiley for four months. Polar opposites in temperament, careers and lives they are inseparable until the rodeo comes to Marietta, Boone's home town, and Boone gets paralysed by his need to prove himself which is in direct conflict with his desire for Piper.
I have to be honest, although I loved Kane, this book left me cold and just a little frustrated. Cold, because I thought Piper was a spineless Stepford wife running around crying that no-one liked her and Boone was flailing around in the dark wanting to be someone but having no idea what he wanted to do. Also I have zero tolerance for men who can't bear to have a difficult conversation but have no difficulty in having sex with the woman instead. Frustrated because somewhere in there was a plot I wanted to read but it was buried deep beneath sexual acrobatics and hand-wringing 'emoshuns'.
Overall, not enough rodeo, too much navel-gazing, and I didn't like the hero or the heroine.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
When Boone Telford asked Piper Wiley travel with him from town to town for the rodeo circuit, he always knew their time together would come to an end. And Marietta, the town where his family lives seems to be the right place for the pair to part ways, especially since he isn't ready to tell her more about himself. However, letting her go isn't easy. Yet, when she discovers what he's hiding soon after they arrive in Marietta, will he be able to win back Piper's trust or will he lose the woman he's fallen in love with?
The way this story started with the prologue proves that Boone has really strong feelings for Piper and it's not going to be easy to let her go. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine arrive in his hometown where this story really takes off, as Boone is hiding so much from Piper and as this story progresses it's palpable to Piper that something is going on with him. Really, she knows him that well. Will he ever tell her the truth? Will what he's keeping rom her tear them apart?
As for the dialogue, it was entertaining and intense due to the main characters back stories, especially that of the heroine, as she's never had a permanent home and is finally ready to settle in one place. Moreover, I really liked both the main characters. With the heroine, she's resilient, courageous and I liked the decisions she made for her future because Marietta seems like the perfect fit. I also liked how she handles things with the hero, even though it isn't easy for her to deal with the fact that she's in love with Boone and she realizes that he may never be able to give her the stability she needs. While the hero, he's hard-working, smart, resilient and I liked how determined he is to prove his worth. No way will he live off what his father has built. I also liked the close friendships he has with the other riders on the tour and the close relationships he has with his family who give him much needed advice when it comes to his relationship with Piper. Really, and if he doesn't listen then he's letting the best woman that he's ever been with get away.
Overall, Ms. Jayne has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between Piper and Boone is strong; the romance was hot and shows how good these two are together; and the ending had me liking Boone's determination to win the heroine back because she's the one for him. I would recommend Cowboy Come Home by Sinclair Jayne, if you enjoy small town romances, stories containing sexy cowboys, or books by authors Heidi Rice, Jeannie Watt, Joan Kilby and Sarah Mayberry.
Not really a fan of this one. I think the basic story could have been a good one but my dislike of and frustration with the main characters kept me from enjoying it. I get that Boone feels inadequate compared to his overachieving but his poor treatment of Piper just angered me and I couldn't feel any compassion for him. Piper has her own insecurities to deal with but at some point you just have to let the past go and demand better from the future. Bottom line I thought this one had a little too much sex and not enough heart.
Cowboy Come Home is a thoroughly enjoyable second chance romance. The characters are engaging and the plot is well rounded. As the third book in the multi author series 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo Book 3, it held its own and kept the reader interested and I look forward to more endearing stories to come.
Cowboy Come Home is the third book in the multi author series The 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo. Cowboy Come Home was a good addition to the series. Boone and Piper are great characters and the storyline was engaging. I look forward to reading more.

Meeting Boone was unexpected and powerful. Love at first sight. But can she convince her cowboy to finally come home and make his mark with her? This is Masseuse Piper Wiley and Boone Telford's story. Piper had two college degrees and had lived all over the world. She’d danced professionally. He’d expected her to laugh at him. Instead he’d watched her get her certificate in massage therapy in a small Saturday afternoon ceremony in a teacher’s home garden, and then she’d packed up a small leather backpack and a duffel bag of her clothes and climbed in his truck. “The name Copper Mountain Rodeo comes from Marietta’s brief copper mining boom in the late eighteen eighties.” although Boone had never been much of a planner. Roll-with-it Boone. His dad had teased him about his attitude when he’d been a tween and later a teen. He was twenty-five now, and nobody was laughing. His family wanted him home “where you belong,” to help with the ranch and the planned expansion. This was supposed to be his make or break year. And he was killing it on the Montana pro rodeo circuit—better than he’d ever done. But there was Piper now to consider. “Is your brachialis bothering you?” He heard the concern in her voice. How she came instantly awake. And his heart lurched. "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book." Cowboy Come Home by Sinclair Jayne is a 2 star book. Wow! I read this in one setting. I just couldn't put it down. The tale between Piper and Boone was just like a fairy tale. What I really loved was Boone. The male protagonist is usually the arrogant alpha. Boone was the strong tough bull-riding cowboy but a marshmallow in regards to Piper. He was so totally confused in his feelings. He wanted to be with Piper but felt he wasn't good enough. Not the man that his father is. After a few tears on my part, Boone talks with his father. I definitely highlighted that page. It was so touching and heartfelt. I totally cheered for a HEA!!!!
I definitely needed the dual POV that this book is written in. I have not been in the situations of either Piper or Boone. While it was easy to identify with Piper and her strong sense of self and moving forward; Boone not so much. I really needed that look into his head to see where he was coming from. This helped me to really get a feel for Boone and to realize that he really was that marshmallow and totally human. I totally fell in love with him (and okay Piper as well but man just the thought of seeing him riding bulls!!!! PHEW!!!)
This story does have a few sex scenes in it. BUT the story is there and the few scenes revolve around the plot not the other way around. I have to go and read the stories from this author regarding the other characters in this book. They were awesome.
I do like the fact that this story is a part of a series regarding a rodeo in Marietta, Montana that is written from different authors about different couples. Each story contains glimpses of the other couples BUT the stories are really stand-alone one. I would highly recommend reading the other stories though. Each one is so unique and wonderful.
3.75 Stars I’ve enjoyed this series so far, the guys from the rodeo have all managed to find a way to hold my attention, although I would have to say that with Boone, I wasn’t exactly sure that I was going to make it to the end, he was a good guy but the real crux of their story just took a little too long to spring to life for me. The rodeo had been Boone’s life for the best part of a decade and it was where he was happiest but when he met Piper the two of them struck up a relationship that brought a few more benefits to their friendship. I got that this was only going to lead to at least one of them looking for something more eventually but I wasn’t exactly sure that either of them were going to be in a position to commit to that scenario. I liked Boone but at times I really didn’t understand him, he was unnecessarily obtuse at times and for the most part he was lucky that Piper was prepared to put up with him, he didn’t seem to see what was immediately in front of him and I can only imagine how frustrating that must have been for a straight-talking woman like Piper. I liked that she was determined, she had her focus and she didn’t deviate no matter how easy it would have been to do so. Could they find a way to resolve their difficulties or would their summer romance be all they got? The story moved at a steady pace, the descriptions painted a fabulous picture and the secondary characters were a superb addition to the story, overall this isn’t my favourite of the series so far but that isn’t to say that it isn’t a great read because it is. A quick read that is the perfect way to while away a few hours
I’m frankly a bit conflicted on Cowboy Come Home, mainly with Boone. I understood his frustration at coming from a family of a successful parent and siblings – you might even call the Telford’s a family of overachievers. I got that he wanted to make his own mark in the career he’d chosen, yet the way he treated Piper once arriving in his hometown of Marietta was far less than stellar and not what I expect from a Marietta cowboy to be frank. I had real trouble connecting with Boone, and even his actions at the ending of the story couldn’t save this cowboy in my eyes. I felt Piper was the stronger, even more mature of this couple. She went into her relationship with Boone with eyes wide open, yet she also hoped for far more from him eventually. Still, she had a plan, a goal and even with the treatment she received from Boone at times she still held on to that dream of belonging somewhere, with someone. I liked Piper, she got some raw deal moments from Boone… and I hope that Boone is worth it for her in the end. Of the two, it’s Piper that I wanted to see happy… with or without Boone.
I enjoyed Cowboy Come Home, I don’t want to give a different impression – I was simply disappointed in one character but that didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment of the story.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Cowboy Come Home by Sinclair Jayne The 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo Book 3
Boone Telford has been on the rodeo circuit for almost a decade when he meets Piper Wiley. The two decide to travel together for the summer as he goes from rodeo to rodeo. They agree it is no strings attached but with time the two become so very close that feelings are hard to avoid. Boone is sure he needs…well…he is not sure what he needs but it all has to do with “more” and that means there is not time now for a woman to become a permanent fixture in his life. As close as Boone and Piper are they reach a point where the end of the road seems to have been reached though neither is really sure they want it to be the end of the road. As Piper decides to move forward and guard her heart Boone is left in a type of limbo that takes some time to work through.
This author creates characters I feel I know and end up caring about. There were times I wanted to sit Boone down and smack some sense into him but thankfully someone else stepped in for me so…whew! Piper on the other hand seemed a lot more together and mature with a plan in place and goals that were measurable…I really liked her and was happy for her when everything seemed to finally work out.
Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.
This is yet another wonderful 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo Read! If you have read any of the other books in the 79th CMR series, as I have been reading them all you will recognize Piper and Boone Tedford from those books. If you are readers of Marietta books you might recognize Boone from other books as well. Yes, characters tend to cross over from author to author and books to book. And that is one of the reasons that I love Tule Publishing Group like i do. One big happy family. So let me tell you a wee bit about Cowboy Come Home. See Boone is from Marietta, Montana but he met Piper in Ca and they became quickly connected. He asked her to come with him on his rodeo trips and since she was already into yoga she got her masseuse license and set up shop. It was just suppose to be for the summer. Suppose to end before they reached Marietta so Boone never told her where he was from and now here they are on their own into town and Boone is sick to his stomach cause he needs to tell her before all his family shows up, in full force. Oh boy this is one really good read about lies of omission and also about also about we see ourselves is not necessarily how others see us. This one I enjoyed even though yes it was different than other books in this series but then again so are these 2 characters.
Cowboy Boone Telford is running out of time being on the rodeo circuit and by the age he is now his father had more buckles, titles and money. Wanting to make his own name he feelings he needs to make this year his best year in order to bring something to the families ranch. On his travels in meet Piper Wiley a masseuse in California, now she never thought that she would be following a cowboy around from rodeo to rodeo but there is something about Boone that gives her a calming feeling that she has never felt. They are good for each other until they get to his home town and then Boone tells her that he must be alone, he also did not tell her that the town is where he grew up in. when she finds all of that out on her own she knows there are more things going on with him that just riding. It all comes to ahead when Boone finds out that she has decided to set up a permanent shop in the town and now he must face all of his fears. He also must decide to let her walk or cowboy up and apologize, read this good story to find out. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 3 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com
I graded this book up from 3 1/2 stars. While this book is a fun reader, overall, it was not without issues.
Boone is a young bull rider who has a set idea of how his life needs to play out. He is likable and basically a good guy. Piper is a young women in search of a home and solid life. I liked them together and felt like they belonged together by the end of the book.
I would have given the first half of Cowboy Come Home 5 stars. About the halfway point in the book it fell apart for me. The bumps that Boone and Piper hit seem pretty trivial in comparison with the havoc that these bumps seem to create for our characters. I found the lack of mature communication between the characters annoying, and the inflexible ideas that they held them back seemed pretty stupid. But the characters were young, and not particularly mature in their actions or beliefs and they did get better at communicating by the end of the book.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes contemporary romance.
I received an ARC in exchange of my honest review.
I usually love Sinclair Jayne’s books, so Cowboy Come Home is a bit of a disappointment for me. I loved the idea of coming home, introducing the new love and finding one’s place in life but it took Boone w-w-way too long to do any of that.
Boone was thought of as being a nice guy, but he said himself, he was behaving like a jerk. And he certainly was. Of course, he was no Dean, the one mediocre cowboy who grates on everyone’s nerves. Still, Boone behaves secretly badly which is something Piper does not deserved. Thank goodness for the people of Marietta.
Well-written with a smooth plot even if I didn’t identify with the main character. Not my favorite of books by Sinclair Jayne, since I wanted to jerk a knot in Boone from the very beginning. I couldn’t understand his behavior at all, nor could I sympathize with him at all.
3.5 Stars An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
All Piper ever wanted was family, and too belong too someone. When she met Boone she thought he was everything she ever wanted, only problem is she needed to either convince him or show him how much he could be everything she wants and needs. The author could have gone two ways with the way she portrayed Piper, she could have portrayed her as a clueless, helpless, codependent damsel in distress, but instead she made Piper a fighter, fearless, independent women with a good head on her shoulders while making her soft kinder spirit with a big tender heart. The chemistry in this book jumped off the pages they did not lack in that at all. While the story was a fun read I wish it was less sex and more story, it seemed Piper and Boone's relationship was all sex and nothing else for most of the book and when they finally got to the heart of the matter it seemed rush. This book does have strong adult language and situations.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.
Genre: Romance - Western, Rodeo Standalone: Yes Part of a Series: Yes Book 3 of 5 in the 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo POV: Boone and Piper Steam Level: Toasty 3.5/5
While super cute and a fun read I found myself getting a little bored and irritated with the internal, turned external, drama between Boone and Piper. I found myself putting this book down, doing something else and then coming back to it. I liked the story and the characters, especially the secondary ones. I liked that Boone was this sensitive cowboy and that Piper was independent and together they were hot but I think my main issue was the lack of communication. - which is what this entire book was built around. I've heard good things about Sinclair Jayne so I will definitely try more of her books but Cowboy Come Home fell a little flat for me. If you like sexy, sensitive cowboys who can rope your heart then give Cowboy Come Home a chance.
I received an advanced copy of this book This is me honest and voluntary review.
This book really drew me in. It was so emotional reading about a couple that clearly love each other deeply and knowing that one of them is planning to end things. I did not understand Boone's reasoning at all but that really did not bother me all that much. His jumbled logic made sense to him and he was beating himself up enough for the two of us. I really liked Piper and it was hard reading about her feelings as she feels Boone pull away. There were a lot of cameos thrown in by what I assume were characters from the author's previous books and as this was my first book of hers I found it very distracting. However, this is my favorite book in the series so far and I will definitely be reading more from this author.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The story has laughs, pain, secrets, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first The Cowboy Meets His Match (The 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo Book 1) The Bull Rider's Return (The 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo Book 2)
This is Piper and Boone’s story. Boone is trying to figure out his life. He has dreams he wants to fulfil and he is trying his hardest to do that. When he meets Piper he is smitten but is he ready to settle down? Piper swore she would never drop everything for a man and that is exactly what she did with Boone. Can they have a future, or will he drop her when he thinks she is no longer needed? Can these two figure out if they have a future together or is one of them about to get hurt?
I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
i'm not crying, you are. Well-rounded, successful women and hunky cowboys trying to make a name for themselves? My kind of story.
perfect book for when your between books or need a beach read. clearly since i finished this in a day it was fast paced and i couldn't put it down. I like that Boone and Piper have their own things going for them but they work so well as a couple and their complimenting personalities made this book work. and tug on my little heart strings. It was an enjoyable second chance romance that felt like something most women can relate to in one way or another. this was the first copper Mountain Rodeo book I read but now i think i'll always keep one or two on hand for when i'm in a rut.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley for an honest review.
A summer fling that Piper wants to turn into more. Boone meets Piper on a beach in California, there is an instant chemistry between the two and he invites her to tag along on the rodeo circuit for the summer. Boone has kept a secret from Piper, his home town of Marietta. Boone has always wanted to achieve success on his own accord not with his family. Piper is use to being on the move growing up, but has now found Marietta to be the place she wants to call home. Is Boone willing to stay or will he loose Piper to live his dream?
Boone and Piper had great chemistry, sexual chemistry was hot. I always love visiting Marietta and catching up with old friends. I recommend this as enjoyable read.
Sinclair Jayne writes a good cowboy story and Cowboy, Come Home is no exception. Third in the 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo multi-author series, this book is set in gorgeous Marietta Montana, a town with a heart of gold. I loved the interplay between Piper and Boone as their story unfolded. Their physical attraction is palpable and when they’re together everything they do to and with each other shows they care deeply. I felt for both of them, Piper because she could sense she was losing Boone and Boone because he seemed to be trapped between a rock and a hard place with regard to his relationship and his future. This story is well written, well paced and had plenty to keep me interested and wondering what would come next.
I like to read from Sinclair when I can grab her book to review. I looked it over and went to read! Boone Telford is a rodeo cowboy, bull riding and steer wrestling. He will be in his home town . Now he has a rider in his trailer. She is Piper and rides with Boone for company. She is therapy for the body. She has a table which is mobile. She can work all the cowboys to get better. They are in Marietta, Montana. Boone likes Piper but Piper is falling for him. Now she hears he won't give to meet his parents. That is a booboo! Of course it gets back to good. Boone has a new idea for cattle.. You will have to wait for next book! You Check to see it! Give this story a chance. Don't let this book get away! Remember tissues!
I was surprised how well this book hooked me. I was worried that the whole book was going to drag on with the conflict, instead we get an good and close look at their relationship and how they both love each other and work so well together. The conflict comes in the form of Boone and his need to make something of himself- somehow. I loved how in tune Piper was to Boone, and knew that something was wrong, tried to give him some space to work his way around it, then when it kept going on, broached the topic. Overall, an enjoyable story. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Cowboy Come Home is a touching and lovely novel about a lost man struggling to find himself and not lose the girl her truly loves.. Boone and Piper meet on the beach in California and he is drawn deeply to invite her to join him on the summer rodeo circuit. They initially start as a romance for the summer but neither can stop the love that forms between them. He is torn by his need to be someone outside his successful family and on the edge of losing the one really crucial thing: Piper.
I loved the writing and the way Ms. Jayne described both Boone and Piper’s inner thoughts, struggles and emotions.
Cowboy Come Home is book number three in the 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo Series by Sinclair Jayne. This is Boone Telford and Piper Wiley’s story.
I had a hard time with this book and had trouble connecting to the characters. Boone comes across as a guy that “wants his cake and to eat it” but even though Piper is a strong woman I felt she gave Boone to much of herself without any commitment on Boone’s part. This story ends well but was just an okay read for me.
FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Cowboy Come Home by Sinclair Jayne is a heartwarming tale about finding oneself and accepting love. Piper was a strong woman who knew her worth and wasn't afraid to go for what she wanted. Her childhood taught her that she had to be strong to weather all that life threw at her. Boone was a man in search of his place in a family of achievers. He needed to learn that he was just as special as those he looked up to. Boone and Piper both kept their own counsel and if they opened up to each other sooner, they may have avoided some pitfalls. This story had me teary-eyed at times and I loved it.
Boone wants to make his mark in the world. When he compares himself to his father's success he feels that he falls short. Piper is making it on her own and doing it her own way. She is not the kind of woman to get wrapped up in a man. When they meet it is an instant, undeniable attraction. Boone needs to stay focused. He has a single goal in mind. Can Piper be his new dream? Sometimes we don't know what we really want until we find that one person who changes everything. Great read.
Awesome book. I had the pleasure of reading an ARC of this book. Once again Sinclair Jayne has done a fabulous job of making her characters come to life. This is book three in “The 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo “ Series. It is the story of Boone and Piper, was it a summer romance with an expiry date or is it the real deal?
I voluntarily read a advanced reader's copy of this book.
Cowboy Come Home by Sinclair Jayne, book three in The 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo series. A great book but not my favorite of the series so far. Enjoyed the character development and dialogue. Look forward to reading the next book in this series.
What a fantastic story. The ending was so sweet you will need a Kleenex, it will bring tears. A story of two people who thought they would have fun over summer, but one had more long term ideas then the other. Beautifully written and a story that will pull at your heart. Definitely a very good read. I Loved it!
