    This is my first read from this author and absolutely wont be the last - especially since I’m moving straight on to the next book with zero patience! This was an amazing start to a 5 book series that follows the story of Randi and Trey and I cannot wait to see what is in store for them!

    Randi is tenacious and determined to create a life for herself after having endured and struggled throughout her childhood. Having spent her whole life being judged by the people around her and trying to make ends meet, she is presented with an opportunity that can help her achieve what she has always wanted despite the obvious downsides. She grabs this opportunity with both hands - only to learn that the situation she ends up in may lead to more than what she bargained for.

    Trey has had a privileged social upbringing with his family and his name ... but he went off the grid and the plan that was mapped out for him by choice. He has been burned and scarred before but oozes confidence, determination and a loyalty to his team. He’s also smoking hot haha😏👌🏻 After a mistake - well a deliberate mistake - on the job in his line of work as a protective agent, he finds himself on the protection detail of the beautiful Randi. He thinks he has her pegged - but soon learns how wrong assumptions can be.

    As they both navigate the treacherous waters that are the political scenes and agendas of powerful men - sparks fly and they soon find the lines blurring! The fight is now not only on the political scene but in their attraction to each other and how they can possibly hold onto each other in secret but maintain the image that Randi so desperately needs!

    I can’t wait to find out what happens ..... one of my new favourite authors!

    Wow, just wow! once again this author blew me away and left me wondering what I was going to do with my life now I had finished this book!

    I love this author, every one of her books I’ve read has been on my best book of the year list, I had high hopes for this one, it doesn’t disappoint. I read this book in one sitting, the twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat right till the end, I loved the dynamic between Randi and Trey, I enjoyed the push/pull, the chemistry and heat was off the charts. I loved the DC political setting and that we get to follow this couples ups and downs over 5 books

    This was another fantastic read from this author, wish I could give more than 5*.

    WHAT a brilliant read. This series was suggested to me by a fellow reader, she warned me that this is a series you won't put down and she was right. Kennedy seamlessly weaves a tale of dysfunction and chaos while threatening to blow apart the inner workings of Washington DC and the political arena.

    Her main character Randi is a strong take no nonsense single mum looking to pull herself out of the hell and squalor she has been living in. The male lead is the strong sexy type with a clear moral compass. Their banter and chemistry is breathtaking, these characters resonate something inside of me with their journey. This was a fantastic start to a series and I look forward to continuing the journey.

    Randi has done the best that she can to overcome her less than ideal start to life and become a force to be reckoned with. Entering the political race would be difficult enough but knowing the strings attached has only made it that much more complicated.

    Trey is a Secret Service agent who dislikes the less than honest side of politics. When he is assigned to protect Randi he will do whatever is necessary to keep her safe but she is definitely not what he expected and he is drawn to her in a way that neither of them wanted or expected. Let the scandal begin!

    This is the beginning of Randi and Trey’s story and it certainly gets off to a great start. Not only are they great characters but all the secondary characters certainly add to the story. Drama, intrigue and heat leave you wondering where this story will go next.

    Power Play has fantastic characters and a plot that are all well-developed, with heroes you love and villains that you despise and can't wait to see them torn from their pedestals. It shows that darker side to politics and all the scheming and lies that goes on behind closed doors. Randi is an anomaly to those around her and is trying to be a voice to those passed over and ignored. Trey and Randi with their blunt personalities and sarcasm do a fantastic job of breaking the tension and suspense to the story line. The steam and physical chemistry between them then heats it back up again.

    Let me state now that this series is going to absolutely wreck me.I just know with it being a five book series based solely on this couple that I am in for a lot of heartache and angst and torture. But I am here for it, because I know the journey at the end will totally be worth it. Kennedy L Mitchell has become one of my favorite authors. She knows how to write a suspenseful story with strong female leads and swoon worthy men.

    I pre-ordered this book as soon as I read the blurb. I'm a sucker for political intrigue with all the scandals, secrets & sneaky stuff - and I am happy to let you know that this book has it all. Power Play looks as though it's going to be a good series.

    At her wits end, Randi Sawyer receives an offer with several hundred strings attached. She's only ever wanted to prove her haters wrong and to offer her daughter the the life she never had - so she says yes. It's not until she actually gets to Washington, DC that she realises that there are way more machinations at work than she could ever have imagined.

    Trey Benson knows the politics game inside out, and he's tired of it. Yet, Randi Sawyer makes him hesitate, stop and think again. In his line of work, that could mean certain death, especially now that she's all he can think about. Moving from friends to more could not only jeopardise the election, but also lives.

    Randi is a spunky, feminine, yet strong heroine that I can't wait to hear/see more from in the rest of the series. She's made mistakes, but she owns them. She's not afraid to fight, even when the odds are stacked high against her.

    I loved Trey from the start! His teasing, cocky, yet caring nature endeared him to me immediately. I can't wait to see what else Kennedy L. Mitchell has in store for his character.

    I recommend this read. I loved it.
