Shopping for an Heir (Shopping for a Billionaire Series Book 6) Kindle Edition
Gerald Wright works for billionaires. He never imagined he’d become one.
The former Navy Seal is a chauffeur by day, artist by night, so when hotter-than-ever ex-fiancée Suzanne Dayton interrupts his nude model sculpting class to serve him with inheritance paperwork from a man he’s never heard of, he assumes it’s a joke.
Turns out the joke’s on him. There’s just one catch. A big one.
And it might be Suzanne—in more ways than he ever dreamed.
Shopping for an Heir continues the New York Times bestselling Shopping for a Billionaire series by Julia Kent. It features many favorite characters from the Shopping series, including Declan McCormick himself as Gerald’s class model ;)

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 4 New York Times bestsellers and more than 21 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French and German, with more titles releasing in the future.
From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire she met in a romantic comedy).
She lives in New England with her husband and three children where she is the only person in the household with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.

- Reviewed in Australia on 27 June 2017Verified PurchaseThis book had me laughing by the end of the first chapter, Great story line, great characters and anything that puts a smile on your face is good in my book.
This book can be read as a stand alone book, but of you enjoy the zany wit and complex characters, I would strongly recommend the entire Shopping series
- Reviewed in Australia on 7 October 2016In true Julia Kent fashion, this book had me cracking up from the very first chapter :D But you will find so much more than the typical for the author humour. The story is kind of a second chance romance with a healthy dose of fun, sprinkled with mystery and topped with some hotness :)
Gerald and Suzanne are quite the interesting couple. Due to their past, there issues with trust, heartbreak and abandonment (mainly from Suzanne's side) that keep them from giving their relationship a second chance. The terror they lived through, while in the military, left them with scars that kept them from really living before their first meeting after finally coming home. Their journey towards each other is full of difficulties but they manage to find the way to their hearts.
But nothing is ever easy. And danger follows them around every corner. And when you add to that the mystery of an ancient artefact, things can get quite confusing and difficult but definitely interesting for the reader :)
So, to summarise, I quite enjoyed reading this story. It wasn't as full of humour as some of Julia Kent's other stories but it was still an interesting read, a beautiful story of second chances.

- Reviewed in Australia on 14 February 2019Verified PurchaseAt first I found this story a bit hard to get into but read to the end. There were some funny things that happened. Just when I thought the story was finished I found out there are another two books to buy. No thanks

- Reviewed in Australia on 18 December 2018A fun read, there were some seriously hilarious moments from some of the secondary characters. Although this is book 10 in the series I've missed a few but it read great as a standalone.
- Reviewed in Australia on 26 September 2016I received this book as an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Another wonderful book in the Shopping Series, this one is full of mystery, intrigue, romance and of course comedy. The McCormick family chauffeur Gerald receives an inheritance that is delivered by his former fiancee Suzanne or Suz as we come to know her. Gerald and Suz were in the military together but Gerald left her 10 years ago and she never knew why. If he sells the artefact he would become an instant millionaire but should he or give it back to where it belongs.
Along with this romantic mystery part of the story our other favourite characters also appear from Declan posing nude for a sculpture class to Marie smoking what turns out to be oregano with James McCormick the family patriarch.
You just can't go wrong with this book or any of the others in the series, just a warning if you read in public be prepared to explain what all the laughter is about because you just can't help yourself.
- Reviewed in Australia on 16 March 2019Verified PurchaseIt just stopped, yes there was kind of a Hea. They went to play pool, the end. I enjoyed the book but wanted more than the ending. Gerard and Suz met while serving in Afghanistan then went their separate ways. Much hurt, angst and ten years to overcome.
- Reviewed in Australia on 21 December 2018Verified PurchaseI started this book going in blind having gotten it when it was free. I have never read this author before and I didn't know that it was apart of a series. Let me tell you I found it a bizarre story and a convoluted mess which included broken hearts, PTSD and Ancient relics. There was a mass of side characters that I think only served any real purpose if you had read the previous books in the series. The H and h didn't even have a decent conversation till over half way through the book and then magically everthing was forgiven and they all lived happily ever after...
I did not enjoy the style of writing at all and had to force myself to finish the book, I don't like not finishing books.
It was at least over quick enough being on the shorter side.

2.0 out of 5 stars Novella nella media

5.0 out of 5 stars Shopping for an heir
Verified PurchaseMais um livro louco e divertido de Julia Kent.
Dá para matar à saudade de Declan, Mary (mae de Shannon) e suas amigas da Ioga, que são um show à parte.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!
Verified PurchaseI had the opportunity to ask for an ARC, but chose not to because of my work. However, I just could not resist...
This is another great story by Julia Kent.... :)
This time, it’s about Suzanne & how she has to get into contact with Gerald to deliver some legal papers. They used to be together, but haven’t seen each other in ten years. Shortly after giving him the papers, she goes on a very bad date with a "Trumpish" Steve character. She then finds out more about the details of the inheritance that Gerald is getting, which seems to be more complicated than she had originally thought.
There is a lot of great, descriptive vocabulary, with lots of funny way to saying things... I started laughing at the idea of playing erotic Pokemon Go, for example, and had to explain why I was laughing to people around me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too many cooks spoil the broth, too many plots the story
Verified PurchaseSorry, but - I was not sure at all what the main plot was in this book. The history between the two protagonists? Their meeting again through her job? The heirloom for him? I think if the author had followed one main plot and treated the rest as side- or subsidiary plots, the story would have been clearer and not so confusing.
As to the language - too "posh" (congratulations for knowing a lot of words with more than 3 syllables, but although they were correct, they were not appropriate, in a manner of speaking; they did make some passages way too philosophical.
And - I don't really want to know which neurons or chemical processes are used or happening when you are attracted by someone, or aroused - and see the remark above about the multi-syllable words.
This was the first book in this series I have read, and I am afraid, it will be the last, at least for me.
