    The Truth About Us is a 2nd chance love story that took me on a rollercoaster of emotions.

    Falling for your brothers’ best friend is so cliché but the connection that Jolie and Griff shared was more than just a crush; falling in love and then having him disappear without a word changes your outlook on love. Griff had regrets, a lot of them and his biggest one was walking away from Jolie. After 10 years they come face to face and when secrets are revealed; are they able to move forward or is the past too much for them?

    Stephens is a new to me author and I personally enjoyed reading this story, I was kept on the edge of my seat wondering what new secret was around the corner.

    I look forward to more stories from Stephens in the future.

    This book could almost be a coming of age, or the re-awakening of two souls, with the impetus provided by yet another family tragedy. It also brings together two of my favourite facets in a romance: Second chances and dual POV, accompanied with a side of brother’s best friend. I couldn’t put it down and was invested in our two main characters from the start.

    Throughout her early years, Jolie had the perfect and sheltered life, until she experienced love and ultimate betrayal at a young age. She kept her secret close to her heart, locked away from her family, eventually moving on with her life. Griff had loved her and inexplicably disappeared, ghosting her on social media.

    Griff had lived the best life that he could, and after reading why he left, my heart broke for both of them. 10 years were stolen from them. 10 years!

    To all intents, the Bryant family looked perfect, but beneath, everyone kept their own secrets, and they were actually, in truth, all broken. As secrets started to spill, my heart broke not only for Jolie and Griff, but for a young secondary character whose life was put into a tailspin of wrong decisions that ended up devastating her life. They all suffered years of heartbreak bought on by the selfish actions and choices of a parental figure which ultimately coloured the way they viewed life. Some changed and grew in spite of things, while others withered under the pressure.

    RC Stephens pulled all emotions together in a perfect storm of love, hypocrisy, betrayal and lies. This is why her books are always a guaranteed great read for me and I will highly recommend her to all and sundry!!. 5 Stars

    This was such a cute amazing strong with a lot of heartache I mean wow these 2 characters have been through A lot ! Griff and Jolie being secret high school lovers and having to separate and go there own ways and having such crazy lives being separated and emotions when brought back together I mean this story was a beautiful crazy tragic ride and I was happy to be there for it ! Btw it does have a perfect ending HEA

    Takes you thru all the hard times of like. I like the way the different issues of concussions and alcoholism are written. Love the story line and showing that love can survive thru all life has to throw at them.

    I initially loved this book. It had drama, angst, love, romance, heartbreak. I little bit of everything. It was an enjoyable, quick read. Until.... I understand H had a horrible childhood, I understand his fear of jail. I understand him loving h for practically his whole life. The poor h had a crappy life too. H was aware of all her secrets when it all blew up with his ex. I think its commendable the author had him get help for his mental anguish and I think it's great that h went to him in treatment because she was aware of his small support system. What I found irritating was how rushed their reconciliation was. How H didn't have to fight for h. She did the acquiescing and he didn't have to make any grand gesture to prove to her she was vital to him. Through the whole book he professed this ultimate love and it just seemed she put up with his decisions and he never put her first. He never really seemed to have to give up much for her to be in a relationship with him. I would have preferred that he get out of his treatment and "woo" her back and show her that she was a necessity in his life. That whole situation ruined a entertaining book for me.
