Score (Flawed Love Book 1) Kindle Edition
She was my everything.
We were college sweethearts, the all American couple.
Until the big time came calling.
Misunderstandings and miscommunications lead to broken hearts and broken trust.
But fate throws me a second chance when our paths cross again.
Now Poppy has to decide if she’s ready to take another try at forever with me, or if the past is better left behind us.
I know this is my final down. My last opportunity to make it right, but Poppy's going to need a little more convincing.
Throwing out a Hail Mary, I’ll give it all I’ve got.
With a little luck, this time I may just be able to Score.

- Reviewed in Australia on 14 February 2019I have never read an Emma Louise book and now I am hooked! This second-chance romance has all the feels and it really tugs at your heartstrings. Keir and Poppy are such lovable characters, I personally felt the pain when they had to let go of each other and I seriously want to knock Keir on the head for not reaching out to Poppy and ask about the photo. But and this is my only critique, how can you not know the one person that has been in your girlfriends' life?
In saying that, the story is well-written giving us a wonderful insight on how to win someone back. It also teaches us how to never quit on someone if that person means the world to you. But more than Keir and Poppy's love, it also shows the importance of having that one friend who will do everything to support us and keep us in line when needed. Now off to see what Elliot and Duke will be like!
- Reviewed in Australia on 17 December 2018Emma Louise is a new Author to me, and I couldn't be happier with my first choice.
Score is a second chance romance between Kier & Poppy.
Poppy & Kier had their hearts broken by a terrible misunderstanding ten years ago, and their lives were never the same after.
Both kept going with their lives & dreams, but their hearts never opened to anyone.
Poppy decides the times comes to be back to Savannah, and the dreadful meeting finally happens.
This book is full of feelings, and it is so sweet to read, and I’m a sucker for second chances.
I love her friendship with Elliott and how sassy and outspoken she is, and can’t wait to read all about her in the second book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this!!
Verified PurchaseThis is my first book by this author and I absolutely loved it!! Second chance romances are probably my favorite and for me this one was done perfectly. I loved both Poppy and Keir. I hated what tore them apart when they were in college and that Keir did it—but part of me understood why and how it happened. That didn’t make it any less heartbreaking—especially for Poppy.
I could relate to every emotion Poppy felt in this book. It was so well written. I laughed, I cried. It moved along very nicely. It was emotional and intense once Poppy decides to give Keir another chance. I really liked that she made him work for it a little bit. And I was so happy when he realized what he needed to do. Loved the ending and I can’t wait to read the other books in this series. (I also loved all the characters in this book and I got very attached to them lol).

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely loved this book!
Verified Purchase**Maybe we’ve had our time? Maybe we were always destined to be an incomplete sentence. An unfinished chapter in my life story. **
Oh my god.
A decade after the misunderstanding that drove them apart, Keir and Poppy are back in each other’s lives, Keir knows he has to try and convince Poppy that he was not the same person he was back then and that their love is forever.
Such a great book, this had me hooked from the first page, the uncertainty and fear Poppy feels is so real, but you can’t help but root for them.
Excited to see what’s next from Emma Louise

4.0 out of 5 stars sweet and cute
Verified PurchaseThis is a book that came my way through social media, let’s face it, I’m a sucker for a decent 1 minutes long video. It’s basically marketed as a second chance romance with a sports flair and some cheating in the past.
I’m not a ready who doesn’t like cheating, in fact I love reading it, so this doesn’t bother me at all, but i know for a lot of readers it’s a hard time. You do see some of the cheating behavior in scenes that take place in the past, so if that’s not your thing, there ya go.
So you have Poppy and Keir who seem to be basically college sweethearts and Keir goes into pro football and she stays behind in college, but they maintain a long distance relationship. Of course it doesn’t work out. I’m not spoiling anything, this is all very up front and takes place in the past.
I like second chance romances for a couple of reasons. 1) the grovel (especially in cheating situations) 2) the emotional upheaval (I like a good cry) and of course 3) the payoff when they finally figure it all out and come together.
So the grovel. Keir acknowledges it was wrong. Straight up not excuses. Thank god. I hate excuses. He also tries his best to prove himself to Poppy in the present, backs off when he can tell Poppy is all up in her feels. He does seem like a good guy. A moron when his dreams came true and he became a hot shot pro footballer, but he’s a very different guy years later.
Emotional upheaval is really on the part of Poppy. I mean I feel for her. Does she open herself up to being hurt again? I don’t honestly love how her best friend keeps trying to push them back together without checking in first, if she had checked in first I would be a lot more okay with it. But she does it without checking and Poppy is clearly uncomfortable early on. She’s a really sweet girl, and I liked her, but I don’t know that I was overly invested in the trajectory of the relationship. I wanted to be. I just didn’t get there. Honestly I think some of my issue was the whole thing was sweet. They were a sweet couple working out their issues in this sweet/cute manner on sweet/cute dates. Sweets fine but I like soul crushing lol!
The payoff was nice. Overall, I think they are cute. It was a quick read for me. I think this would be a really good palate cleanser, it’s not overly emotionally, but the story kept my attention and the characters are likable so overall, it worked out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good writing but not my cup of tea
Verified PurchaseThis is this first of the Flawed Love series and what a way to start.
This book has a little taste of it all. An epic miscommunication leads to heartbreak for both of them and words that can’t be taken back. A second chance romance, learning to love and trust again, forgiving yourself as well as the other person.
Second chance isn’t usually my bag, it’s a bit slow burny but this has plenty of romance and some amazing chemistry.
Kier is great once he gets his head out of his ass and I really loved his family. Would love to see what’s going on with TJ and Elliot! Hard to pick who I’d like to be the next book because they’re both gearing up to be great.
Like I say, second chance isnt really my thing but I loved the writing style and am looking forward to time to read the rest of these!
