The writing wasn’t bad, my rating is purely for the unbelievable plot. For 18 years the heroine is in love with the hero. That’s almost 2 decades of pining for him. Since she was 14 years old. Her not being his first kiss, him parading girls in front of her in high school, then the revolving door of women later on and when she finally thought she had a chance he got busy with entertaining the female guests of the resort he worked for. When this didn’t made her run for the hills, he got one of his hook-ups pregnant and became a single dad. And STILL she thought his guy was her dream prince. The manwhore “best” friend who never noticed her. But wait.. he did! All these years he felt the same but couldn’t pursue her because he was “just” a mechanic and “she deserved so much more”. During the two decades he “loved” her he certainly didn’t mind getting his dirty dick wet with countless OW. And shoving it in her face. He’s repulsive and miraculously free of any STD’s. You wonder how. I didn’t buy their romance for a second. As soon as she wants to leave their hometown, he noticed and was afraid to lose her. But only when his daughter begs him to let her stay, he pursues her romantically. There was one moment I finally thought this book got some sass. I loved how she told him how he hurt her almost daily over the last decades, with all his dates and hook-ups. But then she lets him persuade her for FIVE days and jumps into bed with him. With a proposal straight after. So unbelievable and ridiculous. But hey, what’s 5 days compared to 18 years of hurt right? I can’t with this book. I’m really getting sick and tired of all the manwhore heroes combined with best friends to lovers or brothers best friend and knowing each other for years (or decades even), being sooooo in love but still sleeping around with OW. Romance is dead these days in novel land. Time to move on from this tiring trope.
Safe read if you don’t mind the above. No cheating, OW/OM drama or sex with OP. She had 1 boyfriend we know of during the 2 decades. Let’s hope for her it were more guys than one. In 18 years is all I’m saying. He.. let’s say the above says enough. It’s implied he was celibate since his daughter arrived on his doorstep (8 years ago), but knowing this manwhore’s past, I think that is very, VERY implausible.

this was such a cute and heartwarming read, their love story with childhood friends to lovers trope was so on point, it was so adorable and felt cozy, plus i was in the mood to read christmas romance

Knightly (aka Lee) and Heath have been friends since they were children, but somewhere along the line Lee's feelings for Heath changed and she fell in love with him. Heath has the most adorable eight year old daughter, Cassie, whom Lee is helping him raise and treats her as her own. But what do you do when you are in love with your best friend and he has you in the friend zone? You take time for yourself to figure things out and hopefully move on with your life, so you can find someone that loves you as much as you love them.
This story takes us on a journey of self discovery and realization that it's time to admit to yourself as well as other about feelings you have been harboring before you loose one of the most important people in your life. I hope we get to revisit this quaint little town of Kentbury Vermont because we meet a few people that really need to find their HEA's.
If friends-to-lovers is your thing, or if your in the mood for a holiday romance, I recommend Christmas in Kentbury by one of my favorite authors Claudia Burgoa. I have a feeling once you meet Lee, Heath, and Cassie they'll have you falling in love with this picturesque town and the people in it as much as I did. Happy Reading!!!

Knightly has loved Heath since she can remember and despite him never giving her the time and day to more than being Best Friends, her love for him has no expiration date. Heath knows what it is to love someone and be able to tell her, for fear of ruining the friendship and thinking he is not good enough for her. These two had me wanting to smack some sense in them so they could open their eyes and see that they felt the same about each other. Would either of them allow their love for each finally show or would their fears continue to hold them down? Click to find out :-)

This novella is one of my favorite Christmas stories so far! I really enjoyed reading Landon & Lee, learning about their past, their friendship, and the feelings they have for each other, but that neither dares to tell Plus, I love the way Claudia Y. Burgoa always adds that touch of feelings and broken hearts to her stories, so this made this first Kentbury Tales story even better.
One of the best things in this novella were its characters, because although it is a short story, the author showed us a lot about Landon & Lee, and the rest of the secondary characters in Kentbury, so I can't wait to read the next book, and I hope Claudia continues giving us more novels with them, because I already love them.

Read this heat warming tale about love and second chances in life to find out what she chooses!
Knightly “lee” and Heath from the start had me wanting more of their story! Their friendship and bond is one that anyone could ever hope for in life. I absolutely adored Lees ability to know and care for everyone around her! She’s the mother hen and is such a strong woman! Heath though he’s rough around the edges is a man who cares deeply for those that he loves and will go through great lengths to keep them happy! He was is an amazing character and though this is a novella I hope to see them both again in the future!

This was a sweet little friends to lovers novella. To be honest I haven't read any of this author's work before but when I read the blurb it sounded right up my alley. And it kind of was but I think there was a little too much going on for me.
I know that sounds odd but the actual couple had a lot going on and then there was a bit going on in the background with Knightly's brothers that are probably part of another book and the tease did make me a little curious. But since I wasn't really a fan of the brothers and I doubt they will be hit by a bus I might leave it for now.
But anyway back to Knightly and Heath. They were so good together but both of them were so busy trying to hide their feelings for each other that they didn't see how the other felt. And even though Heath's daughter was a total cutie I didn't get the single dad angle I wanted.
I sound like such a cry baby right now but like I said this was a sweet novel and I did enjoy it. I just went into it wanting it a certain way and it went a different direction and I didn't get on board enough to love it.

If friends to lovers is your thing then Christmas in Kenbury is the story for you.
It's fairly short but it packs a punch. Well written and fast paced, was hooked in the first chapter.
When the man who's been you're best friend, your protector, the man you loved since you were 8 years old. You've watched him make a life for himself, stood by him no matter what his decision even when he thought he was a failure you were there, you were the one to believe in him and even stood at his side as he became a bit of a manwhore. What do you do when he keeps you friend zoned? How long do you wait?
Do you risk your friendship by telling him you love him?
Do you give up and move on hoping the love will fade and the friendship will remain?
Heath made mistakes, he knows this, he owns them. He's made a life for himself and his daughter and even settled down his whorish ways focusing on raising his daughter with the help of his best friend and her family.
His family is nothing to write home about, in fact their absolutely awful to him so having Lee and her dad, his best friends who happen to be her brothers on his side makes life so much better.
He loves Lee, and not in a sibling kind of way. He won't risk their friendship by telling her though, he can't stand the idea of her not being in their lives so he keeps quiet and goes along with just friends.
Until she makes a decision that will take her away from him.
Now he has to decide, risk their friendship or watch her walk away.

3.75 Stars...
A really cute Christmas novella by Claudia Burgoa! I love a good friends to lovers romance. Throw in the holiday season and I'm all over it like white on rice. This was the first story I've read by Claudia Burgoa but I've always wanted to try her books. I'm glad I did. The story was sweet, the characters were strong and likeable.
Knightly (Lee) is doing a little soul searching. She's been in love with her best friend Heath for as long as she can remember. One problem- Heath doesn't know she's in love with him, and is preoccupied with his adorable daughter Cassie. Lee has been like a mother to Cassie since she was born, and loves the little girl so much. Overall this was a really sweet romance, with a little bit of heat and a lot of angst. Fans of Burgoa will like this one for sure!

What a beautiful and sweet friends to lovers romance read that will touch the readers heart.It's fairly short story but what is there packs quite a punch. Quite well written and fast paced, I was hooked in the first chapter and within the first 2 pages. This is a story that will touch your heart and will have you rooting for the main characters. There are some twists/turns in the story that will have you glued to this book to find out what happens.

Magic happens at Christmas time. I’m a firm believer in that. And Ms. Burgoa proves me right once again. As you read Heath and Knightley’s story you will fall in love. In love with them, with Heath’s daughter Cassie, with a small town in Vermont, and most importantly with Christmas. You’ll see what I’m talking about when it comes to Christmas magic!

This was such an adorable friends to lovers novella. It was beautiful. Such an intense, emotional ride wondering how it was going to all end up. This book was way more interesting than what I had originally anticipated. It’s so much more than another holiday read! I would recommend it to anyone who loves a fun friends to lovers romance.

Knightly (Lee) has been in love with her best friend, Heath, for forever it seems. She's never wanted to potentially stress their friendship, though, so she's never revealed her feelings. And then he drops a doozy of an announcement on her, one she actually knew before he told her, and it puts the absolute no on any thoughts she had ever had about telling him her more than friendly feelings. Years after his announcement, and she's decided her life isn't exactly going the way she had dreamed, and she can't handle her feelings for him any longer, so she decides to take a job away from their small town. But when Heath finds out, will this be the kick in the ass he needs to let her know that he's always been in love with her and wants her to stay?
For such a short novella, Christmas in Kentbury packed a serious punch. The character and relationship development is on par with full-length novels, and Lee and Heath are both wonderful characters, likable and well-detailed. Add the heartwarming and sweet touch of Cassie, and what Christmas in Kentbury has to offer is perfect for the holidays - sweet, a little spicy and long on heart and love.

I loved Heath and Knightly. Their story warms the heart. Especially with Heath and all he did to woo Knightly.
Heath and Knightly have been friends forever. Heath is also Knightly’s brothers friend as well. The oldest brother I wanted to smack upside the head. He was part of the issue for Heath to me. heath always felt more for Knightly but never acted on it for many reasons. One being he never felt good enough for Knightly for his parents didn’t have him feel that he was good enough. Second being he was afraid to lose Knightly’s friendship.
When Heath made a mistake and became a dad, Knightly was there to help him and encourage him. Knightly’s family stood by him as well. Her family always supported him.
Heath was a great dad. He is a kind and warm person as well. Always there to help others and give of himself. He is very supportive of Knightly as well. But his parents really did a number on him man. They looked down upon him and this has him feeling he isn’t worthy. Which is far from the truth.
Knightly is great as well. She is kind and sweet. Has a great business sense when it comes to the b&b. She is also like a mom to Heath’s daughter. And she has had a crush on Heath forever only now she is older and wants more. She fears that Heath doesn’t based on his past with woman. That and her brothers. Dang them. So when Knightly finally feels it is time to go forward, she starts to push Heath away. This is where the fun begins.
Heath is persistent and finds out what is going on and you see the panic set in. We see him have to face his feelings and fears and play with the big dog of love or lose the one woman that is always there for him and loves him as well. It is Knightly’s dad that helps Heath with his indecision. That was one of the more tender moments. When Heath is told he is worth so much. And when he begins to believe it you just smile. But you swoon when he woos Knightly and she sees that he really does love her.
The story is fun, sweet and just a feel good read. You can’t help but fall in love with the characters and the story. Heath and Knightly have great chemistry and just make you feel so welcome in their world. Claudia Burgoa has written a wonderful feel good story that warms the heart and draws you into their adventure into taking a leap and having faith in love.

Christmas in Kentbury was a sweet and swoony friends-to-lovers/ single dad novella that will leave your heart simply satisfied. Landon and Knightly's journey to HEA is full of longing, pining, and finally giving into what their hearts truly desire. I loved this small town of Kentbury and am looking forward to more of these characters' stories.
Muffy Newtown and Teddy Hamilton narrated this audiobook, and these two were pure audio magic together. Muffy portrayed Knightly's passionate and determined persona perfectly giving her so much fervor and strength in her performance. Plus, Teddy turned on the charm with his portrayal of swoony and devoted, Landon. This slow burn simmering chemistry exploded through your earbuds once these two gave into temptation and finally went for what they wanted...each other.
Overall, I LOVED this novella. If you are a fan of a small town friends to lovers romance with a hot hunky single dad, a fiercely loyal B&B owner with goals, a sweet adorable little girl, a getaway to NYC, getting the ultimate Christmas gift, and a HEA that proves friends make the best lovers, then you will love Landon and Knightly's story. Heath and Knightly have been best friends FOREVER. Never crossing that line, but Knightly watched him over the years with different women, his flings, him never being with her. Hence, he has a child with one of his one night stands, but she welcomes her with open arms. But over the years, she's put her own life on hold, her biological clock is ticking, and running out. So, with her brothers on her back, she decides to leave Kentbury for the big city, get some experience, have a baby, with or without Heath. She wants and needs to move on.
Heath knows darn well, he loves and can't live without Lee. He just doesn't want to rock the solid friendship they have. But, he finally gets with the program and wants to prove to his Lee how much she means to him and his daughter.
I loved this sweet best friends to lovers novella. I love a good Christmas story and I was so very happy that Claudia Burgoa wrote this book!!! Christmas in Kentbury is a light-hearted, delightful and charming novella. Heath and Knightly’s friends to lovers story is simply beautiful and although it’s a quick read, it’s well written and filled with a lot of depth that will capture your heart instantly.
Heath is a single dad (single dad stories are my jam and I was hooked immediately) and Knightly “Lee” is his best friend and they’ve been there for each other since they were kids. I love the idea of a secret love and Lee has been in love with Heath all her life. Although Heath has feelings for Lee as well, he’s unwilling to risk their friendship by revealing his true feelings. Not only is Lee his best friend, she’s also a mother figure to his daughter, Cassie. Lee is at a point in her life where she wants to move on and when Heath realizes he may lose her, he’s sets out on quest to win her over.
Christmas in Kentbury is such a sweet, touching and romantic novella with wonderful characters. It’s heart warming and filled me with the Christmas spirit. I highly recommend this holiday read.

I have been a fan of Claudia's book for some time now. I love her way with words and she did not disappoint with this book. Even though I'm not a big fan of Christmas/holiday romance stories, I actually really enjoyed this one. I saw it was a single-dad romance and I am a sucker for a good single-dad trope when written well and this was perfection! It was a light-hearted, loving, beautifully written and fun story that had me swooning and smiling all the way through the book.

This is such an adorable story. I haven't read any of this series but I don't feel that I had to, to know these characters. The place it's set in, Kentbury in Vermont, sounds so idyllic, but a little too cold for me!
Heath and Knightly dance around their attraction for blooming years...DECADES! Yes, I'm rolling my eyes! I get that they don't want to ruin their friendship, but come on! Think of all the hot, sweaty, steamy sex they missed out on! Their love is palpable. Everyone knows, except them.
Knightly is wonderful, she makes everyone's life sweeter, she's an excellent friend, sister and daughter, plus she has helped Heath bring up his daughter, Cassie since she was a week old. I love her.
Heath has a complex that's been drummed into him from his parents; he's just not good enough. FALSE! He IS good enough! He's a wonderful Father and is so kind and considerate to the whole town. The only thing 'wrong' with him, is his infuriating self-doubt.
I loved every word of this book and couldn't help but shed a few tears at the end.

If you love a great holiday story, this one is perfect for you!! Christmas in Kentbury is really cute and wonderful friends to lovers story.
We meet Heath and Knight who met when they were really young and they have been in love with each other for a lot of time but they have always feel insecure about ruining their friendship in case a relationship doesnt work, but Knight finds herself in a point where she needs to start living and forget about her love for Heath, so she decide to move on with her life, but when Heath found this news he decided to do whatever he can to have Knight with him forever, althought he thinks he is not good enough for her, so you need to read this novella to see what happens and if in the end they have their HEA.
In this story you will find a really cool secondary characters and a little lovely girl.

This book is short so of course it's fast paced but it was so short parts felt too rushed. I loved the bones, the single dad, friends to lovers story line. The kiddo was a great character. I just wish I had a bit more too it.
Teddy & Muffy (literally my two favorite narrators) did a phenomenal job on the audio.

Having read numerous books by Claudia Burgoa I was excited to read Christmas In Kentbury which is single dad Landon Miller and Knightly (Lee) story. I love stories set around the holidays, it such a magical time of the year with family and friends coming together to celebrate.
What Heath doesn’t realise is that Knightly has been in love with him for years and adores his daughter Cassie. Now she has decided to head to New York and Heath realises he will need to do anything in his power to stop her, even if it means he finally admits his true feelings.
I loved this friends to lovers story and I quickly became invested in the story that Ms. Burgoa wove.

I liked that this felt like a whole story even if it was short.
Knightly just wants Heath to open his eyes and see her as a woman. But she can't wait forever, and it's time to either move on or tell him how she feels.
She chooses to move on, and that is when Heath realizes if he doesn't kick it up, he is going to lose her forever.
I loved that he followed her and was the one to open up and show her exactly how he felt. She then in return had to trust that he wasn't just saying all this to please her child, who doesn't want Knightly to go either.
Ten stars for the narration, Muffy and Teddy for the WIN!

Christmas in Kentbury is a sweet holiday romance set in picturesque country setting of Kentbury and in the big apple during the holidays. Knightly and Heath's love story has been years in the making. How do you tell someone you love them after years of pining for them? Status quo is comfortable until it's not. The author has created a sweet tale of exploring love with your best-friend that makes you want to fall in love all over again. I can't wait to see what else comes out of this new "world" we've dived into.

Christmas in Kentbury is everything you want in a holiday romance; sweet, wholesome, and served hot! I particularly enjoyed how Lee, the protagonist, is fully honest with herself about her feelings and stands up for herself when she needs to. Heath was a delicious treat of both realistic and romantic! Cozy up to this book with some hot chocolate and feel the cool air of Kentbury on your skin as you watch these two come together.

I absolutely love Heath and Cassie’s story!!!! Their banter, their love, their journey!!!!! Claudia Burgoa, you did an amazing job!!!!!! I always stayed away from holiday reads, but I wanted to read yours!!!! I may just have changed my mind, I may start reading them if they’re anything like yours!!!!!
