5 - "Wow… Just Wow." Stars!
We travel to Mayhem, Minnesota and get to know the Whiskey Sisters and believe me when I tell you they and the town they come from are unlike any family or place I have read about before, and in such a happy and positive way.
"This is something special you have here…"
Two books, and two novellas make up the sum of this series so far, and I devoured each and every one of them, it’s not often I find an author that can make me laugh, cry and fall in love with a group of fictional characters and the place they live so quickly, but I was enamoured from the start of book one; Blame it on the Bet. I felt like one of the O’Halloran family by the time I had flown through Mischief in Mayhem and now that I have just stayed up way past my bedtime to finish Mistletoe in Mayhem I feel a whole lot of a book hangover because I have nothing else left to read featuring the outstanding cast that the author has put together.
"We can do this… We can keep this pub running."
We start with Hennessey and Bryan in book one with a funny and poignant enemies-to-lovers story-line, and we follow on with Jameson and Scott, with the more tricky ex-brother-in-law to lovers story, notable mention goes to divorcee Jameson’s son Jackson, because through all of the books he is a hugely entertaining and absolutely adorable character, and the glue that brings and holds the family together at some of their darkest points. The novellas that follow along from the books then give us the progressions of these couple’s stories into marriage and starting their families.
"I kind of don’t want to leave… I like this place. I like the people who live here."
This collection of books contains a little bit of everything in regards to reading tropes, the first two although not necessarily Christmas books, are all bought together with the seasonal novellas and have set me up perfectly to spend the rest of this month indulging in one of my favorite times of year, with some seasonal reads to go along with it.
"Want to make a match with me?"
These books encompass everything that is important about the Christmas season, with strong family ties, faith (in yourself and a higher power), forgiveness, caring for your neighbor and helping out those with needs bigger than your own, love, laughter and letting go. They are also a perfect introduction to Lauren’s writing, and I am so glad I said yes to the opportunity to read and review this series.
"I’m here… I’m staying."
With two sisters still unwed, I hope that the author has plans for Walker and Bailey and in the not too distant future, the O’Halloran family have a permanent place in my heart now and I cannot wait to go back and spend more time with them and the residents of Mayhem as soon as possible.

Complicated. If I only had one word to describe this book, this would be it. I cannot adequately describe the goodness of this story without giving away the good stuff, but here goes.
Jameson is a kind and caring individual. She’s a single mom to a handful little boy and she has an amazing support system. But she comes with baggage in the form of an idiot ex husband. A health issue with her ex father in law (who she is close to), forces Scott, her ex brother in law to come home and end the estrangement with his family. Somewhere along the way, Scott and Jameson fall in love. But there are obstacles in the way, cue in the idiot ex. and a host of other things.
I very much enjoyed this story. The complications kept me intrigued, and Father Romance kept me laughing. I did have some questions about Jameson and her ex that didn’t get answered. But I also haven’t read the first book in the series yet! I loved Jameson and Scott but I feel like they didn’t talk to or spend enough time with each other to really connect.
This was my first book by L. E. Rico but it won’t be the last. I’m holding out hope something really awful happens to the ex husband!

I fell in love with the Whiskey Sisters series with the first book, Blame it on the Bet. The story had amazing characters and was a fun read. The second book, Mischief and Mayhem is different. It's more serious, which I wasn't expecting. The characters are still great, but it isn't as fun and there aren't nearly as many humorous parts. However, this isn't to say that the book wasn't good, because it was.
Mischief and Mayhem finds Jameson Clarke newly divorced from her cheating, jerk of an ex-husband Win. Jameson is the second oldest of the O'Halloran sisters. It's in her nature to be be a nurturer. In fact, before she had her two-year-old son, Jackson aka The Adorable Terror, she was a nurse at the local hospital.
Within the last year, Jameson has lost her father and divorced her husband, but the blows keep coming when Jameson discovers her former father-in-law passed out and not breathing. She soon discovers Big Win selected her and his son Scott as his healthcare proxies. In typical Win fashion, when he learns he wasn't picked by his father, he has a fit. He also leaves Jameson on her own with the task of locating Scott, who no one has had any regular contact with since he left home ten years ago.
After his mother died, Scott Clarke found himself confused and alone. Instead of turning to his father for help, he packed up and joined Project Peace. For years, he’s done hard manual work, with the benefit of knowing he was helping people who couldn't help themselves. When he gets the call that his father is ill, he rushes back to Mayhem, Minnesota and prepares himself to face the past he’s been running from.
Mischief and Mayhem is heartbreakingly sad for many reasons. However, in the midst of the story coming together and the shocking discoveries, the O’Halloran sisters are there for each other. Mayhem may be a small town with more than its share of eccentric people, but this town is full of heart.
Once again, L.E. Rico has put me on an emotional rollercoaster. She gave me highs that made me smile. She gave me lows that either made me mad on behalf of a character or reaching for tissues. I loved Jameson and Scott together. These two both have such incredible hearts and love for their family. I don’t want to give anything away but Jameson and Scott were destined to be together.
If you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend you do. L.E. Rico has solidified her place on my favorite author list. I am so looking forward to the next books in this series.

The story centers on a small town in Minnesota, with Jameson and her sisters. Jameson O’Halloran is now divorced and still dealing with the ex because they have a little boy together and he is really what has kept them and the family together. When tragedy strikes the grandfather which is her ex father in law it turns out that she must now locate her ex brother in law Scott which has been gone from the town for ten years. When he finally arrives in town is when all of their lives take a turn for the best it just takes you some time to get there. You get family drama between Scott and Win you used to be married to Jameson, but literally screwed that up but still thinks he has a shot at winning her back. You have Scott and Jameson who have always liked each other and are trying to figure things out, along with a family secret. Then of course there is her sisters and the shenanigans they pull especially her oldest sister at the county fair. All of the added characters just add to the story and overall this is a very fun story and worth the read. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. It's a sweet and yet emotional story. Not every love story can be straightforward and this one is quite complicated because Jameson was once married to Scott's brother. But, he can't stop himself from having feelings for this woman. She is the most beautiful person he has ever met and as guilty as he feels for being attracted to his brother's ex-wife, he simply cannot help it.
Jameson is a mother, first and foremost, also after her divorce she has lost faith in her judgment as well as men in general. But, Scott is not like any other man. He is sweet and he is considerate; the exact opposite of his brother. Perhaps that's why she feels the way she feels.
Both are scared of their complicated pasts and current situation, however, one thing is for, sure they may not be able to keep their feelings hidden for long...
It's a very well written novel and has some very interesting characters. I quite enjoyed the story and would recommend to all contemporary romance fans.

I totally enjoyed Mischief and Mayhem by L.E. Rico, part of her Whiskey Sisters series. This is the first book I’ve read by Ms. Rico but will definitely not be my last. I loved that all four of the O’Halloran sisters were names after different brands of whiskey, which made sense since their father owned a bar in Mayhem, Minnesota. This story features Jameson who is trying to pulling her life together after her divorce while being on a strict avoidance of getting involved with any man other than her son. When her long-lost ex-brother-in-law shows up looking like sex on a stick she’s still not giving in. She’s been there and still wearing the messy T-shirt. After a ten year absence, Scott returns to Mayhem only because his father falls ill. After a lifetime of fights with his brother, Scott knows that despite his attraction to Jameson she is off-limits.
I loved the interaction between the sisters as they work together, support and love each other. Scott and Jameson have a wonderful friendship as they work together to find solve a mystery regarding the brothers. I also loved the town of Mayhem and how they are in everyone’s business; such a small town thing. I especially enjoyed the Pie Lady who had visions of the future and memories of the past. I live in the capital city of Minnesota and enjoyed the way Ms. Rico included many of the quirks and traditions of the State Fair. Yes, the butter sculptures, cheese curds, and food-on-a-stick are real things.
Ms. Rico wrote a wonderful story that drew me into her book and the lives of her characters, making me forget the world around me. I had trouble putting this book down, turning page after page, not letting go until I turned the last page, still wanting more. I highly recommend this book to other readers.

Jameson's ex-husband Win has broken her heart and she's made a vow to remain single. She isn't interested in another relationship, especially after what she's been through. Jameson is a single mother with several loving sisters. Her son's grandfather also enjoys to help out, so there's plenty of support. When disaster strikes Jameson meets Win's brother Scott for the first time in years. Scott once made her an irresistible promise, but does he still intend to keep it?
Scott left his hometown because of family problems. Now that he's back he has trouble adjusting. He never got along well with his brother and finding out that Win's ex-wife is single again makes Scott feel things he's never felt before. However, he can't date his brother's ex-wife or can he? When Scott and Jameson spend time together sparks fly, but would it be a good idea to give in to them if Jameson wants to keep her promise to herself and if Scott will leave again? Will they be able to resist temptation or are their feelings too strong to walk away from?
Mischief and Mayhem is a wonderful romantic story. Jameson is a strong and determined woman. She's a great mother, she's a caring and protective sister and she's a sweet daughter-in-law. Her ex-husband hurt her, but he hasn't broken her and I admired her strength. When Jameson meets Scott she knows she's in trouble. Especially since he's living abroad and doesn't intend to stay. Scott is a kindhearted and chivalrous man. He has such a lovely personality, but he's also a troubled soul. I couldn't wait to find out if Scott and Jameson would be able to heal each other's hearts. Fate offers them a chance and discovering if they'd take it kept me glued to the pages.
L.E. Rico has a lovely heartwarming writing style. I love the Whiskey Sisters, they're all fabulous. Jameson is part of a great family and I really enjoyed reading about them again. L.E. Rico skillfully describes the relationships between her main characters. She perfectly understands friendship, true love and family and the result is a well balanced story with many fabulous twists and turns and an adorable ending. Mischief and Mayhem is a terrific charming, captivating and tempting story.

I'm packing to move to Mayhem. I love the Whiskey Sisters and man did I take a header into this book! I loved Scott and Jameson.
Scott Clarke left Mayhem 10 years ago and hasn't been back after a falling out with his father. He's traveling the world working basically as an NGO helping do whatever needs to be done. Meanwhile his brother Win has married and now divorced Jameson. They are co-parenting their son Jackson who is a pip! The toddler has his own lingo and happily I understood exactly what he was saying. Wonder what that says about me?
When Big Win suffers a massive stroke, and on life support, Doc tells them that James is the second name listed on the health care surrogate form. Win is not the first. His brother Scott is. That makes Win really angry, not that the jack hat needed anything to make him contrary, the guy was just an all around dipwick. When they locate Scott, he dreads coming home, but he's also determined to discover the truth about who he is and the illusive clue his mother left him before she died. Win being Win won't help him, meanwhile Scott and Jameson grow closer and dang if that didn't just push all the right buttons for me. I loved them together. The guy has been living in third world countries for 10 years, no idea what a smart phone is, who certain celebrities are and what's been going on in the town of Mayhem; land of KnittyKitty, priests dispense love advice like a Pez dispenser and pies. Those magical pies. And then O'Halloran sisters! This book had so much going on in it. Goopa is the bomb!! Another lesson, never cross a sister! Then there's little Jackson.
I loved the way the book opened. That was a classic I won't soon forget.
I love the way Lauren weaves a story together and wow did she push my buttons in this one... had a little book hangover after reading this.

That makes Win really angry, not that the jack hat needed anything to make him contrary, the guy was just an all around dipwick. When they locate Scott, he dreads coming home, but he's also determined to discover the truth about who he is and the illusive clue his mother left him before she died. Win being Win won't help him, meanwhile Scott and Jameson grow closer and dang if that didn't just push all the right buttons for me. I loved them together. The guy has been living in third world countries for 10 years, no idea what a smart phone is, who certain celebrities are and what's been going on in the town of Mayhem; land of KnittyKitty, priests dispense love advice like a Pez dispenser and pies. Those magical pies. And then O'Halloran sisters! This book had so much going on in it. Goopa is the bomb!! Another lesson, never cross a sister! Then there's little Jackson.
I loved the way the book opened. That was a classic I won't soon forget.
I love the way Lauren weaves a story together and wow did she push my buttons in this one... had a little book hangover after reading this.

Lots of mischief and even mayhem. I loved the story of Jameson and Scott. The Whiskey Sisters series is one I am definitely going to follow.
Jameson is a recent divorcee with a terror as a son. Well they say terror but goodness I bet he is the sweetest thing ever- he was written so mischevious you just know he was an adorable little chubby cheek boy you want to cuddle.
The ex is Win- Scott's brother, but things arent' as simple as that. With deception and deviousness Scott has wasted the last 10 years of his life. Coming home to his ill father things are about to completely change and goodness know mayhem will ensue. Jameson and Scott find themselves drawn to one another- it feels meant to be. But with the evil Win in the picture nothing is going to be easy.
The Whiskey sisters are unique and fun and hilarious! The first book in this series promises a fun adventure with each book to follow.

Having absolutely loved the first book of this series, I couldn't wait to read more about the O'Halloran sisters and the town they live in, as it's quirky and charming, and I've got to say that I loved this book every bit as much as the first. Really, the main characters were incredible, and the dialogue was highly entertaining due to the main characters back stories and everything these two go through on their journey to happy ever after because they have huge obstacles to overcome to be together. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine come face-to-face for the first time where things really come alive, as there's plenty of chemistry between this couple, and yet, any relationship between them seems impossible.
As for the dialogue, it was a wonderful combination of intense moments due to the main characters back stories and playful banter that had me loving this couple's growing relationship, especially the moment where Jameson says things in a moment when she has a rather say-what's-on-your-mind reaction while under the influence. Moreover, the heroine is resilient, courageous, is a good mother and I liked the close bond she shares with her sisters, even though it seems she goes a little overboard when it comes to being protective of her younger sister. I also liked how the secondary characters helped bring the hero and heroine together since her ex is an absolute piece of work that didn't deserve such a wonderful person as Jameson in his life.
While the hero, family secrets have kept him on the run for years, and I liked how determined he was to learn the truth no matter how painful the truth might be to learn. He's also confident, kind, caring and I liked the way he took care of Jameson in her time of need. I also liked how determined he was to make things right with his dad, especially after everything that's happened and everything that he learns. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was his determination to win the heroine over, even though the obstacles they face are tough and there are times when it seems they'll never overcome them. Will he be loyal to family or follow his heart?
Overall, Ms. Rico has delivered another fantastic read for this series where the chemistry between this couple was off-the-charts; the romance was on the sweet side; the secondary characters entertained me just as much as the main ones, although the heroine's ex was a total jerk at times; and the ending had me loving what the heroine does to fight for her chance at forever with the hero. Talk about cryptic clues and deliciously good pie! However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up wonderfully, as the heroine knows this time around that Scott is her Mr. Right. I would recommend Mischief and Mayhem by LE Rico, if you enjoy the forbidden romance trope, second chance romances or books by authors Sonya Weiss, Victoria James, Jennifer Hoopes and Jody Holford.

Where do I start? I mean really. It’s like I waited FOREVER for this book in the series. If you want a recap of my review of Henny’s story here you go: Hennessey’s Review. So I won’t go into the sisters again in my review but let’s just say that they all play a very big part of this book and it is wonderful how Ms. Rico is able to use them in nonintrusive ways. Bailey and Jameson’s side plot is brilliantly played out, even if my heart broke a bit. Very realistically written and heartfelt. Remember that Jameson is the oldest and Bailey the youngest.
Anyways, I’m here to tell you how much I just ADORED this book. In some ways, it supersedes the first one and I’ll tell you why:
Jameson is the oldest sibling and feels like a failure. In her marriage, in helping her sisters and at times her son, Jackson. Jackson is hilarious in this book. Unca Scott and beddy-bye are just two of his sayings. Jameson carries some guilt when it comes to her mother’s death and still misses her. But what was great about that is she was finally able to “see” her mother when it came to the butterfly exhibit at the fair. Trust me, I had a tear. She fights for what she wants and doesn’t let her douche bag of an ex-husband take it from her. Also, she cares deeply for her father in law and the feeling is mutual.
Scott. I swooned. Yes, swooned and pictured Josh Lucas as my Scott. Just think Sweet Home Alabama and you’ll understand. Anyway, I loved him from the start and when we finally understand why he left and then the fallout later in the book, my heart literally broke. How could someone be that cruel to another human being? I know, there are plenty of people out there but in the end, they don’t get their way. Just the last scene in the bar spoke volumes to me in the sense that a certain douchebag will never get his way.
The Pie Lady is back and spookier than ever. She scares me. Seriously. Ms. Rico has written a secondary character that is funny, fun but reminds me somewhat of a fairy godmother. In a spooky way.
The celebrity cat scenes. Laugh out loud funny.
The mystery in regards to Win and Scott. I really liked that plot point. It showed me that the Clarkes were made of a certain character and didn’t back down. Too bad Win didn’t get the same message. Ungrateful little snot.
With this story, we didn’t have an outsider trying to take over something. I love Brynn but this one was more about two childhood friends that made a pact that they both forgot about. It’s about finding that true love when you think that you will never get it. For finding that someone that makes you feel alive when you don’t think you deserve it. For finding the peace in the reasons why you leave and but then find reasons for never leaving again.
Ms. Rico has written that rare second book in a series that really makes you think. I’m not sure if I could have coped with what Scott went through all those years ago. Jameson had to finally get her backbone when it came to Win and his ways. Douchebag. Yes, I will continue to say it. It’s still a story about sisters but in the end, it’s about being true to yourself and fighting for what you truly want in life.

Mischief and Mayhem is a “sweet and clean” book – there is minimal mild cursing (no f-bombs) and no sex. If those things aren't your jam, there's nothing to worry about here. And even if you prefer those things in a book, this one has enough plot and good writing that you will not miss them. This is technically the second book in this series but it completely stands alone. You do not have to have read the other book to enjoy this one.
This is only my second L.E. Rico book, but as I read this one I was reminded of just how much I enjoy her writing style and storytelling skills. Although this book deals with issues that are very important and emotional, there is a gigantic amount of humor and happiness threaded throughout so the story isn't heavy or depressing, it is both hopeful and hilarious.
Mayhem is my kind of town. Even the most trivial background characters in the book added so much to the story that I found myself wishing Mayhem were real so I could visit the town and revel in the, well, mayhem.
Jameson was such a great character that I found myself rooting for her from the very start. The way that Jameson loved and supported everyone around her – including her weasel of an ex-husband – was beyond impressive. She unflinchingly supported Scott, Win, Big Win, and all of her sisters without fail, all while juggling her job and her duties at the bar and still being her own woman. She's the kind of woman I could easily see myself being friends with. I also really liked Scott. Despite having spent ten years of his life literally running away from his family and his life, he was a surprisingly great guy. His sense of humor and the way that he loved his father, Jameson, and Jackson was incredible. I found myself just hoping he would get his stuff together and be the man that Jameson deserved.
I cannot wait for more of the Whiskey Sisters stories, and more from Mayhem in general. But weirdly enough, as I was reading, I found myself wondering if there was a way to redeem Win. Of course, when I was thinking that thought, the putz went and messed up royally (the fair) so maybe not, but if any author could do it, it would be Ms. Rico.
I would highly recommend this story to anyone who loves a beautiful love story set in a small town full of amazing characters and wonderful people.

I'm really enjoying this series about the Whiskey sisters, set in Minnesota, and this one was even better than the first one which I also enjoyed.
This time we get the story of the second sister, Jameson, who runs and owns O'Hallorans with her sisters, the Irish pub in their town of Mayhem. She is recently divorced from Win and they have a small son called Jackson, a holy terror but very, very funny too!
Her father-in-law, Big Win, collapses and is rushed into hospital on life support in a coma. So the family rally around, and 'missing' son Scott comes back to be by his Dad's bedside, as he is also his Primary Healthcare Proxy, with Jameson as Secondary Healthcare Proxy, leaving Win out entirely. Win and Scott have a very antagonistic relationship, hardly surprising since Win is a complete pain the behind anyway, and so there is quite a bit of hassle going on. There is also a secret that Scott thinks he knows all about, and is the main reason he left town 10 years ago to work for the Peace Project around the world, but in fact things are not as they seem and nasty Win knows more than he lets on.
Jameson and Scott start getting closer, but of course Win doesn't like it and creates grief for everyone, that luckily gets resolved in the end, with involvement from the pie lady and a mad dash to the airport!
There are some great characters in this series, I'd love to know more about the pie lady, and there's also the (very famous) shop that knits outfits for small animals, all mad but very, very appealing! I'm assuming this series will continue with the other two sisters and I am really looking forward to returning to Mayhem and catching up with everyone. Very entertaining.

Mischief and Mayhem is Book 2 in the Whiskey Sisters Series by L.E. Rico. It can be read as a stand alone however I’m looking forward to reading book 1 to get to know the support characters a little better.
I found it a little slow to start with but once I got to around 15% I couldn’t put it down.
Jameson is such a sweet, likeable character. She’s a single mother to Jackson and recently divorced. Her ex husband Win is a vindictive person who will stop at nothing to ensure she doesn’t end up with anyone else.
Scott, Win’s brother has been working for project peace for the last 10 years. On her deathbed, Scott’s mother tells him something which leaves him feeling like he doesn’t belong there anymore and after she dies he leaves his home town of Mayhem and goes to work abroad. A tragedy brings Scott home and reunites him with his family and Jameson.
Trying to solve the mystery Scott’s mum leaves him with brings him and Jameson closer together. To say their relationship is complicated would be an understatement.
L.E. Rico took me on a roller coaster of emotions in the best way possible, happy one moment, hurting for the characters the next.
L.E. Rico’s writing style is lovely, emotional and heartwarming whilst very funny at times.
Overall I enjoyed this sweet, small town romance and I really look forward to reading more in this lovely series.

I loved this second Whiskey Sisters book by L.E. Rico! Fantastic follow-up book to Blame it on the Bet! This series featuring four sisters (all of whom are named after whiskey), has humor, love, and heartbreak.
Jameson and her unfaithful ex husband (Winston) try to cope with his father's medical emergency and in the process they find out it is Win's estranged brother, Scott, who is his healthcare proxy. They find Scott doing charity work in a rural Mexico city, and he arrives home for the first time in 10 years.. Will Scott and Jameson remember their past, and be able to reconnect their feelings for one another, even though Scott and Win are brothers? Will the secrets of Scott and Win come out?
L.E. Rico writes with great flow and includes such great story lines and additions (Like Jameson & Win's toddler, Jackson!!!) I also love the main characters and the supporting characters (There is more of Bryan and Hennessy, Big Win, and Father Romance!)! I LOVED this second book and cannot wait for the next book in the series! I would recommend reading Blame it on the Bet first, but it isn't completely necessary ;)

This is my first book by L. E. Rid, but it won’t be my last. Well written, funny, sad and sweet, book 2 in the Whiskey Sister series hits all the right notes and brought each character vividly to life for this reader.
Scott returns to town after his dad, who he hasn’t seen in over 10 years, is stricken ill. The first person he lays eyes on is Jameson, his former sister-in-law...but he’s unaware of the “former” distinction. Jameson is sweet as pie, mom to a toddling hellion and still devoted to Big Win, her father-in-law. Sparks fly from the get-go, naturally, and it’s a joy to watch. There was nothing forced in this pairing.
Can we talk a minute about Jameson and her sisters...Hennessy, Walker and Bailey?! This Irish lass got a huge kick out of those names, for sure! I couldn’t put it down, stayed up past my bedtime and was dragging at work today. For me, that’s the best indicator of a great book! Loved it...I’ll be back for more.

I couldn’t put it down, stayed up past my bedtime and was dragging at work today. For me, that’s the best indicator of a great book! Loved it...I’ll be back for more.

This was such an awesome book! This is a new to me author, and I was so excited when I started reading and couldn't put it down! The writing flowed well, and I loved all the characters. The O’Halloran sisters were great, and it was interesting to see all the sisters named after whiskey. Jameson and Scott were great together. You could tell that they really got each other, and were perfect together. Win was a jerk, and I really couldn't believe the extent he would go to make the people around him miserable. I know family is important, but I don't think that I could have forgiven him, and let him stay in my life in any capacity. I have to say there were several times that I teared up. The end especially got me. I can't wait to read the rest of the sister's stories!

I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys sweet small town romances with a little bit of drama and forbidden love mixed in.
Jameson and Scott were always destined to be. Even when time and distance separates them fate brings them together. I like the little bits of divine magic mixed into the plot. And all the little Siri conversations breaking up the chapters. This is the first book I read in the series so I think I did miss out on some of the backstory but not enough to ruin my enjoyment.
When a family tragedy brings Scott back to the small town he’s been avoiding for years the long buried feelings begin to grow. But there’s more separating them than Scots wanderlust and that’s the fact that Jameson is Scott’s brothers recently divorced ex. But with some help from some cake, a priest and an ex father in law they finally get their HEA.

How much do I love Mayhem? A whole lot - everything about this town and its residents just adds to the colour and the charm of this book. It is Jameson's turn to find love. Newly divorced, she is not in the market for anyone, let alone her ex-husband's brother but when Scott returns home to Mayhem the sparks fly between them. Scott has not been home for a really long time and the tension his absence has caused his family is palpable.
The whole quirkiness and fun of the town is contrasted against the challenges of their developing relationship but once you get on this ride you will not want to get off until you have savoured every twist and turn of their story. I am loving this series, its characters and setting that feels like home.

I was so excited to head back to the town of Mayhem! Only there would you find four sisters named after different kinds of whiskey.
I adored Jameson and Scott. She has had some hard times but remains so positive, and she is a great mother. Scott, after being gone a number of years, has returned home. The author did a great job with his character, and the family and romantic issues he deals with.
Just like the first book in the series, there are some hilarious moments. Especially with Scott's introduction to technology and pop culture after being out of the country so long.
With one or two books left in the series, I hope that Walker's book is next!

This was a new author for me and so I have not read the first book in the series, but I started with this one. I was not disappointed at all. This was a very well-written story that was full of emotion along with some drama and very nice humor. The characters were well-developed and very interesting and likable. I got into the story very quickly and found it very hard to put the book down. That's how good it was. A story filled with love and emotion along with some humor made this book a winner for me. I will definitely look for more from this author. Highly recommended!

Mischief and Mayhem is the second book I have read by L.E. Rico. It also happens to be the second book in the Whiskey Sister's series. I loved it. All the sisters are named from brands of Whiskey. They live in the city of Mayhem. They run their family pub.
Jameson is helping with her ex father in law's care as he is hospitalized and gets to reconnect with her brother in law. The relationship between Scott and Jameson is uniquely interesting. I could not put this one down.

I laughed...a lot. I cried, just a little and I was tremendously entertained throughout this wild madcap ride of a story. It was quirky, fun, sentimental and romantic. Filled with love, Friendship, family and community. I wish for more of these stories about the Whiskey Sisters and the town of Mayhem.

I have been given a review copy of this title through NetGalley and I have voluntarily decided to give my opinion. Mischief and Mayhem is the second book in the Whiskey Sisters series and each book in this series can be read as a standalone. This book just had me and just touched my heart. I truly loved this story and these characters and I’m so excited to see what next from this author.

This is the 2nd book in this amazing series and is Jameson and her ex brother-in-law Scott’s story. This is a well written story which is filled with quirky fun and entertainment which all lead to a humorous and romantic story. I was intrigued throughout this riveting tale and highly recommend for all.

A sweet and funny story. Ms. Rico has done a fantastic job of keeping a smile on my face with here creative use of child safe curse words and toddler speak. The teasing way in which Scott has to learn how to use the iPhone and be introduced to all the things he has missed around town since he has been gone is not to be missed. It is the little quirky details that she includes that makes this book such an exceptionally fun read.
