Until Joe is part of the Kindle Worlds: Happily Ever Alpha series. This book is by C.P. Smith. This is my very first book by her and I want to shout to the heavens that I am NOW a huge fan! Books like this are my addiction. Insta-love, Insta-lust, when the eyes meet, or when you first hear their voice, and BOOM! You just know, you have found the one!

Joe Rouger is a silver fox, tatted up, Harley riding swoon fest! He’s in his low fifties and co-owns Teasers, a strip club where strippers can feel safe. Joe’s been divorced for several years now from a very unhappy marriage. He had a bit of a wild time after his divorce but that wore off quickly. Now he just feels unsettled. Like there’s something in life that he’s missing. He wants to be happy, to settle down with someone that truly makes him happy. And then he hears her voice. And he knows that he just has to find the woman that goes with that voice. Because he can feel it deep inside that this woman is somehow important to him.

silver haired man on a motorcycle

Bernice Armstrong is also in her low fifties. She co-owns Frock You, a vintage clothing store with her sister. Bernice has never settled down. She and her sister spent their life raising their niece. She’s pretty much given up on finding a man that could really make her happy.

“She felt like his salvation. As if she’d opened a door and let the light back in.”

I don’t want to give anything away but it takes a bit of time for these two to finally connect. And when they do, I practically spontaneously combusted, because Joe was everything! He already knew that she was it and he would do whatever it took to make sure Bernice understood this. To win her trust. Because Bernice has walls up, very sturdy walls. She’s had to to protect herself. But now it’s Joe’s turn to protect her.

“He felt like a wall that stood between me and the rest of the world. For the first time in my life, I felt truly safe.”

couple kissing in the ocean

I would call this a romantic suspense. Because Joe and Bernice have someone that does not want them to be together. But it’s also sexy, steamy, and Joe curled my toes. He is so hot! And Bernice was perfect for him. And let me also say that Bernice was amazing. So much was thrown at her but she knew her man.

Have I convinced you yet? If you like sexy silver haired alpha heroes that are all growly and possessive, then you have to meet Joe. I’m pretty sure you won’t soon forget him! I can’t wait to read more by this author!

Joe was a delicious silver fox who rode a Harley, valued his family, and owned a respectable strip club. The dancers have a 401k!! After a loveless marriage and meaningless hookups, he wanted a woman to love and be loved by. He wanted to find his forever. It took a laugh and one seriously intense look for Joe to know he'd found the woman he'd always been looking for. A woman who owned him for a whole year before he even had the chance to speak with her. Their happily ever after wasn't easy, but it was worth it and it was SWEET!

This story was about mature characters in mature situations. It was about two people who knew their own minds and their own hearts. It was instalove and instalust at first sight and I loved it! There was very little room for second-guessing the relationship between Joe and Bernice and despite how short this story was, I felt that the author gave just enough growth and experience in this couple to make them believable. Her dad may have played a huge part in the drama and tension of their situation, but it gave this story a little edge and saved it from being super sappy. There's also plenty of character crossover to tantalize readers to discover more of this world. There's the Wallflowers from Bernice's side, a CP smith series, and then there's the fact that Joe is November's uncle, from Aurora Rose Reynolds' Until series. So aside from the entertaining story of how Joe and Bernice become one, we get all of that.

I'm being vague about this story on purpose. It's short and it would be too easy to give everything away. I seriously recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sexy mature couples and happy endings!

description I tried. but I just can't finish this one. I can't get past how old the heroine comes across in this book. Her and her sister talk like they are two 80-year-old spinsters..with "Sister...what is taking so long?" "Sister...what did you do?" Like, OMG, all I can picture is two old grannies in rocking chairs knitting and gossiping about the town...😂😂😂😂

5 Sexy Stars!!

A beach, fireworks, a laugh, then a heated glimpse. A glimpse that burned itself in his soul for a year..... now it’s time for Joe Rouger to claim his very own Southern Belle.

Joe Rouger is all ALPHA, he’s a business man with a edge, he loves his family, he's been happily divorced for a decade, and now he’s at point in his life that he wants to settle down, he wants his happily ever after and he wants it with a women who’s been on his mind since that heated glimpse. The women he burns for....Bernice.

“Your past was your past, and your future was standing in front of you. And if you didn’t hold on with both hands, you’d never be the same.”

If you’ve read C.P. Smith’s Wallflowers Series, you know Calla Lily’s beloved aunt Bernice Armstrong. The minute she laid eyes on Joe the previous year, she has thought about him constantly. All of the sudden Joe shows up and he’s a man on a mission, steamrolling his way past all her defenses and claiming what is his.....let me just say, Joe....BOOM! totally swoon worthy. You’ll fall hard for this hero.

Preston Armstrong *sigh* is once again causing problems. Poor Bernice. Her father is unbelievably intrusive. He will do things that will make want to kick him in the shin.....hard! His excuse for his bad behavior is everything he does is “all in the name of family and the Armstrong name.” He takes no prisoners and it doesn’t seem to matter to him who he hurts or how deeply. Unbeknownst to Joe he comes with his own set of problems which becomes interwoven in his relationship with Bernice and her father....pretty intense moments there!!

 photo 4042CCA6-B6EF-40F2-A3B7-F718D555708F_zpsag6egp9g.jpeg

Bernice and her sister Eunice have been front and center in the Wallflowers series and I love how those characters worked themselves into Bernice and Joe's story. It was fun seeing Wallflowers Calla, Sienna, and Poppy and of course they come with their alpha overprotective men Devin, Bo, and Nate. Lastly, we’re introduced to Joe’s son Chris Rouger, I don’t want to say to much but I think we need a book for him!!!.....and Joe’s nephew Brandon.

Another winner Teeny!!! Can’t wait for more.

Joe (November's uncle) is tired of meaningless sex, when he finally feels his 'Boom'... for Bernice.
But Bernice has a very wealthy, very manipulative father. Everything is blamed on this boogeyman father. Yet in the end, he's made out to be just a foolish old coot.
*sigh*

Too much OTT drama lama.
Ridiculous ending.

Their age is supposed to be early 50's, so I would have liked them to actually 'be' like people in their early 50's. But instead the author chose to make them look and act and heal like people in their 30's. If I wanted to read about people in their 30's, there are already a gazillion books out there.

But I was enjoying it (yet skimming some of the overly drawn out drama) until that stupid ending.

Safety is good I guess.

I love Joe!!!

I love Joe and Bernice's story. I'm glad Joe finally got his HEA as I've been waiting for his book since the beginning - Until November. I especially like the ending where Bernice and Eunice's father, Preston, turned out not to be too much of an jerkwad.

Worth the Wait

Squee! It was worth the wait. I literally devoured this book in a few hours. I couldn’t put it down. The words flew off the pages.

This is a story of an older couple. Not some young in there 30’s drama. And CP gave me a fantastic read. It just goes to show love will find a way no matter your age.

When Joe first heard Bernice’s voice he was captured. Looking for the source of that laughter and he was done for. But when he thinks she belongs to someone else he walks away. One year later and the woman he’s never been able to forget is still calling to him.

Joe is unlike anything our southern belle has ever encountered before. The instant chemistry she felt with one look has stayed with her also. And these two haven’t even spoken to each.

But one year later. The memories of that one look has Joe hunting down Bernice.

But with a southern family and one that comes from old money it’s not going to be an easy battle for either of them.

A meddling father who’s controlling ways of dealing with his daughter turns nasty, he’ll sink to new lows. Anything to get rid of Joe. His money didn’t work so maybe blackmail will.

But what this southern dad doesn’t realise is that love is an extraordinary thing. And now that Joe and Bernice have found it nothing will stop them from keeping it.

I feel like I have waited forever for this book to be released but considering the circumstances I feel bad for complaining. But I honestly couldn't have gotten it too soon. It's like C.P. Smith and Aurora Rose Reynolds have the same ability to see into my psyche and write the perfect books for me.

So when they combine for the Happily Ever Alpha series it's heaven. Joe lived up to the standards of all the alphas in both the Wallflower series and the Until series. He had the whole growling, possessive thing down and I loved that he was the first one to admit he messed up, when he did.

Bernice I vaguely remember from the wallflower series and I now really want to do a re-read. She was the ultimate mix of southern charm and kickarse awesomeness. And I love, love, loved that she never flew off the handle when things happened.

They were such a perfect couple and their maturity added so much to the story. They both had real life baggage that they dealt with without unnecessary drama and they just got on with their own crazy, normal real life, wallflower style.

This was such a great cross over I don't think I can get enough. And I am hoping that all of the well wishes of C.P.s fans have reached the right ears and her son's recovery continues and I only mean that partially selfishly, so we can get more of her awesome words, honest.

The first thing about this book that got my attention was the cover because, Helloooo Mr. Yummy! Then I started reading and the book is set on the Georgia coast, one of my favorite areas of the country, so that's check number two in the positive column. And the hero and heroine are middle age, which I love because of the reminder that love can happen no matter one's age, so another plus for me. And don’t let this one fool you. Just because the main characters are more mature doesn’t mean their chemistry isn’t crazy hot. This one sparks, sizzles, arcs and explodes with a BOOM!

If you don’t believe in love at first sight, Joe Rouger and Bernice Armstrong will make a believer out of you. Only for them it's more of a full-of-lust, all-consuming, possessive, my-soul-found-its-other-half love at first sight. I know it's just words on a page, but I swear, I could feel the heat crackle and sizzle in the looks these two share! Joe and Bernice share one of those looks, but it's not until a year later that they find each other again. When they do, they’re both 100% committed, but they have a fight on their hands, battling affluence and old money of the deep south, and someone determined to destroy their relationship by any means necessary.

This is a new-to-me author and, with all of the above, I’m thinking it's too good to be true, so I brace myself, anticipating there’ll inevitably be something disappointing about this story. You know how it is. There's always some degree of chance when trying an author you’ve never read before. But the only disappointment is in my wasting the unnecessary pessimistic anticipation, because this book is the bomb!! These characters owned my heart, and I'll definitely be checking out both the Wallflowers and the Until series!

This is an author who is clearly seasoned in her craft, with a warm, inviting style that easily draws the reader in. With the emotional depth and feel I’ve seen from authors like Hope Ramsay and Emily March, these characters felt like life-long friends, and I was eager to travel with Joe and Bernice on their journey to forever, absorbing every word the way a dying soul in the desert drinks when finally given water. Their story is heartfelt, humorous, poignant, steamy and inspiring, and the happiness of your romantic heart depends on you heading to the 1-Click button immediately so you can start reading this delightful, delicious, phenomenal story. Until Joe follows along in Ms. Smith’s Wallflowers series and is almost too hot to handle!

Bernice is the aunt of another main character, Calla Lilly, and we see her appearing in all of the Wallflowers series books. She meets Joe at a beach, in passing, and he has since been her “what if”. Of course, Bernice’s love story can’t end like this!! The Wallflowers make sure of it!!

Joe is a character from Aurora Rose Reynolds’ Kindle World: Happily Ever Alpha. And this man? Alpha alllllll the way. I love how these two authors worlds intertwined to make an irresistible read!

This book has love, longing, suspense, and an alpha male that causes some major HEAT. I love everything that is CP Smith and this was no exception, but rather the cherry on the top!! This is one you surely don’t want to miss!!

Read an early copy of CP Smith's book you say? Sign me up!!

Bernie may be a southern belle, but that sure as hell ain’t southern charm Joe is handing out.
Whoowee! That man’s as alpha as they come!
With Bernie a perfect blend of soft southern lilt and enforced steel spirit.
The two together are fantasy and fireworks on the pages.
"Until Joe" is not to be missed!

That cover is inspiring!

Holy cow, if fifty year old men looked like this cover model I’d be all over that! He’s the perfect representation of the hero in Until Joe. A bit of a bad boy who has lived his life and is finally ready to find a good woman to spend his days and nights with.

I liked Joe. He has that alpha personality that we’ve come to love from the until series originally brought by author Aurora Rose Reynolds.

I was happy to see him paired up with Bernice from CP Smith’s Wallflower series. She deserved a guy like Joe who wouldn’t let her father scare away.

Fun story and great addition to the Happily Ever After series.

5 'Lighthouse In Her Storm' Stars

Awww, talk about a full on #BOOM and the proof that it's never too late to have your own HEA! Emotional, funny, sweet and oh so sexy, Until Joe gave us all the spectrum of feelings. CP Smith provided us with the PERFECT combo of two of my all time fav series,  Wallflowers and Until. Utterly fantastic!

Joe Rouger was one of those characters that instantly intrigued us when reading Aurora Rose Reynolds Until series, so when CP Smith, announced this book, Until Joe and that would be coupled with the sweet and sassy Bernice, and therefore a crossover with The Wallflowers, I was beyond thrilled.

“Feel that?”

She licked her lips, which only served to make him harder, and nodded as she stared at his chest.

“It hasn’t beat with life in years. It’s kept me alive, but it hasn’t beat with anything like want in for-fucking-ever. I want you.

Well, my expectations were more than exceeded! One look, was all it took for them to be utterly captivated, but due to misunderstandings, almost one year to meet again and truly get their #BOOM.

Joe was the epitome of Alpha - fitting right in with both the OG #Boom, the Mayson men, as well as all the other Wallflower male - deliciously HOT - gang, so when he knew that his HEA was within his reach he grabbed with both hands and never let go. And Bernice, even with her painful past, was right there for the ride.

It was time for Joe to be the lighthouse in her storm.

You’re the type of woman I want in my life until I draw my last breath.

And what a ride! It's so amazing and refreshing to read about a more mature couple, and still enjoy the brand new feeling of passion and witnessing the building love between them. Joe and Bernice were truly meant to be.

Again I will repeat what I've said before about this series, because Until Joe fit there right in, it's not only a love story, but a story about love, all types of loves, and even complicated takes on love. Without giving anything away I'll just say how shocked I was to end up kind of emphasizing with a side character that I never expected to, but like I said, so many takes on love, but most of all, FOREVER kind of love! A true #Boom! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

BOOM! was more of a feeling. It meant you’d finally come home. That the puzzle piece you’d been searching for your whole life had dropped into your hands, and it was your job to curl your fingers around it in such a way that you never lost hold. BOOM! In an instant, your life changed as drastically as if you’d been blown apart. Your past was your past, and your future was standing in front of you. And if you didn’t hold on with both hands, you’d never be the same.

CP Smith gives us an exciting and fast-paced story. November’s Uncle Joe is a man on a mission in this Until Series spin-off. When he first spots Bernice, he knows that she’s everything he ever wanted. Distance, misunderstandings, overprotective parents and a whole lot more might be too much for these two to overcome. One thing they have going for them is the BOOM! When you find it, there’s no turning back.

I was caught up in the thrill of their chemistry. These two were scorching. The whole story was intense: the relationship, the drama, the pace. I loved how there was never a dull moment and I never knew what was coming next. Some aspects of the story seemed a little odd to me. I kept forgetting the ages of these characters as the situations they dealt with seemed like something a younger couple would deal with.

After reading this story, I’m extremely intrigued by Smith’s world. I was excited to read this book because I love Aurora Rose Reynolds’s but haven’t read much from Smith. Meeting these characters and hearing about their adventures has me eager to dive into the rest of her books!

5 Cranky Stars

The Wallflowers are back in their best adventure yet. C.P. Smith has created a world of characters that I want to be friends with. In the first 3 books we went on adventures with Calla, Poppy and Sienna. These girls love hard and never leave a Wallflower behind, not even Bernice and Eunice.

Bernice still dreams of the one man who gets her fire burning. A chance encounter where only their eyes met made such an impact she still feels it to her core a year later. Leave it to the Wallflowers to track Mr. Tall, Dark and Dangerous down in this epic story.

Wherever the Wallflower are Murder and Mayhem ensue. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and had my emotions on a roller coaster ride. C.P. Smith has a way with words and will have you falling in love with love again. Do yourself a favor and buy this series. You won't regret it.

How to start a review when your mind is spinning with an awesome story and do this book justice. Having seen how Joe first saw Bernice in the last wallflowers book we knew he was bowled over and realised she was his BOOM! You could almost taste his disappointment when he thought she was ‘taken’. This book picks up from there and we get to see how Joe copes or doesn’t, with his disappointment. Suffice it to say circumstances align and Joe seeks out his ‘angel’. As always with a wallflower the path of true love never runs smooth. We not only catch up with our younger wallflowers and their guys but we also catch a few glimpses of the Maysons too! To say Joe has some ‘moves’ would do him an injustice. Joe isn’t hot, he’s smokin’ hot! Bernice is no wilting flower either she shows her true southern roots and she’s a sexy and sassy woman. Saying Preston her father isn’t happy is an understatement of the extreme variety too. Throw in the determination of a wallflower and her younger counterparts with their guys and you have the recipe for an intriguing and sizzling love story. As always there are twists and turns and a few things you won’t see coming, it was so good I couldn’t put it down. Great book.

2.5 stars. I feel kinda bad giving this book that low of a rating because there were a lot of parts of this I enjoyed. The main relationship was fine but the real draw for me were the background characters. From what I understand the main characters are characters in two other series that this author writes and this book definitely made me think about reading those books because I loved those characters a lot. These seem like very "alpha male" type books which are hit or miss for me. I would hate the type in real life but sometimes in books they can be framed in such away that I like it, or I like it purely for the escapist element of wanting to read about someone who takes care of everything for you. There were really only a few elements I didn't like, but I really didn't like them and it impacted my enjoyment of the rest of the book.

My biggest problem with this book is came from an almost throwaway line at the very beginning which was that Bernice's family is very rich because her ancestors made money through cotton farming and then later shipping. I am from Georgia, just like the people in this book. I know that there are people around me who have made money in similar ways. My problem isn't that this is where the families wealth comes from, my problem is the fact that this book never interrogates or further addresses the fact that these women are independently wealthy because their ancestors had slaves. I don't think that's something that should just be waved away or used as the reason for why they have money. If you're going to put that in a book, you need to address the obvious fact that cotton farming in the south was done by enslaved people who were being exploited and horribly mistreated. That detail of where the money came from was in the back of my mind through the whole book and really impacted my reading experience.

The other things that sort of bothered me was the way Joe's protectiveness was expressed. I'm never going to be the kind of person that would like if my partner insisted on paying for the whole check when we went out but I'm fine with that in books because I get how that can be attractive. What I didn't like was how later on Bernice was okay with Joe telling her to cover up in front of other guys because she loved him now. I think I will always prefer when a love interest accepts a persons boundaries and loves them anyway rather than changing their boundaries through the power of love. A male love interest telling a female character to cover up around other men is just something that I will never be able to find attractive and always stands out as a really negative plot detail.

I did really enjoy the characters of this book. It made me want other books by this author which puts me in kinda a tough position because the other books are based on the same family with the same family financial background that was a serious problem for me in this book. I may look into this authors back catalogue to see if there are books that might work for me but this one just had certain problems that I couldn't ignore.

Gah! Put CP Smith's wonderful love stories together with Aurora Rose Reynold's BOOM! and you get the fantastic Until Joe!

If you have read CP Smith's Wallflower series, you know the lovely Bernice, and have quickly met Joe. Now it is time for their HEA.

I loved that Joe and Bernice are not some college aged couple, with issues that are so not relatable to me any more. I want my couples with a bit of grey and a life time of experience in my reads these days.

Joe is all kinds of swoonworthy. He's all alpha, all badass, all man, and all in with our lovely Bernice.

We learned more of Bernice's family - and gotta say, except for her sister, there was not much to like.

Bernice is all southern charm, and all fierce spirit. I love that she goes for what she wants - and what she wants is the man who has been in her thoughts for months.

Was great to see some more of the Wallflowers and their men - these ladies are all kinds of fabulous.

I want more!

This long awaited book by CP Smith was so worth the wait! Until Joe is part of not one, but two amazing series by two amazing authors, CP Smith and Aurora Rose Reynolds. The hero in this story is Joe Rouger, Uncle Joe to November Mayson in the Until series by Aurora Rose Reynolds. Bernice Armstrong happens to be the aunt to Calla Lilly who was part of CP Smith’s Wallflower series. To say I loved this book is such an understatement. Joe is the ultimate alpha male that I absolutely adore. He is a man who has lived an amazing life, he has two wonderful grown sons, an unconventional and successful job he has been proud of, and an active social life, but even with all that something has been missing. Then one summer he gets a glimpse of an angel from afar, and he knew what it was he had been seeking. Unfortunately, due to some wrong information, he had to let her go even before knowing who she was. It is now a year later, and once the truth is realized, uber alpha Joe is out to get his woman. What ensues is a whole lot of steamy encounters. Joe’s pursuit of Bernice is definitely fan worthy! Their first face to face encounter was off the charts on the hotness factor, gave me goosebumps for sure. Unfortunately it is not smooth sailings for these two, irritating obstacles from both sides definitely get in their way, but Joe is determined and Bernice knows not to take things at face value, talk about a strong southern belle!

I loved these two so much, and the appearance of the beloved characters from both series was an added treat. CP Smith is an author who I know will create amazing characters, with some intense heat and chemistry. Another fantastic book that I know I will be constantly re-reading in the future. A 5-star read!

What the actual F?

Can someone please explain to me how.... I mean HOW can someone do so many evil, manipulative, conniving things, and still come out on top? How can someone treat their family, their children so terribly, do everything .... LITERALLY EVERYTHING in their POWER to hurt them... and everyone just forget all about it, or worse, make excuses for it?!
Oh, he verbally tears me down and puts me in situations to emotionally destroy me... but he's doing it because he loves me.... Are you KIDDING ME?????

I hate.. I mean, I loathe when bad guys get away with being bad guys... and Bernice's father was one of the worst. He was a villian in every since of the word and no matter how much he hurt his daughters, what he did to destroy them and turn them against him... nobody did anything about it!!!!!
I can't even believe any of this right now.... I'm finding it so hard to deal !!!
Ugh, I wish November would've gotten a chance to meet this guy, I have a feeling that she wouldn't have let this stuff fly.... and the people that got paid to lie for him... the ex-wife and the waitresses.... they just got away with it too? I mean, the one didn't, because she tried to kill somebody, but... the others??
I'm literally speechless right now.....

So, if you remember in Novembers stories and a couple sprinkled here and there, Joe is Novembers uncle who used to run the club with her dad, Mike. On an Independance Day getaway with Mike and his family, he see's his BOOM...
Unfortunately, he thinks she's already taken, so he leaves and doesn't see her again for a whole year... but someone from her life comes to find him because he was her BOOM too.

Now, aside from everything I mentioned above that I HATED about this effing story.... was how unrealistic it is. Like, I know the BOOM isn't real and this is supposed to be insta-love at it's finest... but these people were well into their 50's, but the whole story read like they were bratty 20 something kids that couldn't think for themselves. Bernice had literally everyone she'd ever known butting into her one day out with Joe, telling them how amazing she is and warning him not to hurt her.... I mean, cliched, but whatever....and of course it's insta-love, but I love that part the whole BOOM concept... but, the rest... omg.

I actually did think the story of how they met was cute.... I adored them together as a couple, and I enjoyed seeing them get to know each other. That's the ONLY reason I gave it two stars.... Because literally everything else just made me so mad.....
I cannot believe nobody else is talking about this!! You need a disclaimer that says, warning.... if you like villians, you'll love this story because their is a terrible one and he not only gets away with everything, but, he completely changes his mind at the very very very end and everyone lives happily ever after... INCLUDING HIM....

I literally want to scream right now.

5 Stars!

Until Susan was very much a favorite of mine in this World when we got the beautiful Susan and James story by this author the first go round. Well CP Smith has done it again, delivering a new must read favorite, with this brand new romantic suspense standalone in the Happily Ever Alpha World, round two.

Until Joe is a story that I have wanted and a character that has intrigued me since the very first moment we met him in the background of Until November. And now our big, strong, burly Joe is FINALLY here to tell his own story and to get his very own BOOM... plus you get meet those fun Wallflowers that are so unique and so fun and so complicated and so very unforgettable in every way.

When Joe and Bernice lock eyes with one another for the very first time, something happens between them and that something is BIG. Bigger than they ever could have dreamed or imagined. And all it will take is one moment, one decision, and one chance to change everything for these two. The journey might be a little bumpy but the forever that get will get is so worth every moment.

CP Smith has penned a breathtakingly beautiful and suspenseful romance (soooo worth the wait!!) that completely stole every piece of my heart and left me on the very edge of my seat from the very first word. I couldn't get enough of this story or these characters.

Fall head over in heels in love as they take a chance on their very own once in a lifetime kind of BOOM and find forever can happen in just one single moment.

Aurora Rose Reynolds has created a whole new BOOM spin off world book where authors of her choosing write stories that link and swerve into her series. ARR has seriously started a dream by creating this new Happily Ever Alpha world and I'm so so so freaking excited to see what we get in every single book... and even meet some new to me authors and characters.

I highly recommend this fantastic standalone book.

I can admit that I had a little crush on Joe since I met him on Until November. I’ve always wanted to read this story and how he would find the BOOM in his life.

I haven’t read any books from the series The Wallflower by C.P. Smith but I am so going to read them at some point. Be sure that nothing would be easy and Joe would have to fight back if he wanted to have his happily ever after.

Colorful characters, sassy women who weren’t afraid of the challenge and mostly overwhelming father who would do anything to protect his interest, I meant his daughter.

You totally understood the moment Joe felt the BOOM. He wasn’t expecting to be literally captivated by a woman with her southern charm and witty personality. A voice that drew him in, this feeling impossible to ignore and creating this powerful bond, protectiveness and possessive side he haven’t felt before her. I adored this man for his selfless side, caring and passionate. He wasn’t wasting time, being always honest with his loved ones, and being at this time of his life when he felt that emptiness until her.

Bernice never felt like this before, it took one look to be totally under the charm of that bad ass silver fox. Falling in love was never on the cards due to her uber protective father, who never hold back, finding any means to make the men walking away so fast. Raising her niece like her daughter alone, she was independent, badass and totally not afraid of a challenge. But she wasn’t prepared for tornado Joe who made her head spin so fast that she was already drunk on love.

I adored this family she created with her niece and her friends, their significant others,  this tight-knit family, protective and supportive. There was definitely craziness in the air but it wasn’t making Joe bolt for sure. He went for it and made his lady the one, no matter what.

I’ve been entertained for sure, the drama was a bit overwhelming at times but still I had a really great time reading about how Joe and Bernice fell in love.

Passionate, steamy and so darn sweet.

After reading Until Susan and freaking loving it, I had a mutual friend beg C.P. Smith for an ARC for me. Thank goodness Ms. Smith was flattered instead of feeling like she was being stalked and sent me one just in time for my road trip vacation.

As my husband drove us through Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Kentucky, I tagged along with Joe as he traveled to South Carolina to get his woman. The only thing that could have made this more perfect is if my husband had agreed to my proposed change of plan and pointed our vehicle toward Tybee Island but no matter how much I begged, he wouldn’t go for it. Maybe next year.

The entire time I read Until Joe, I had to chuckle more than once at how Beatrice acted exactly like my husband’s sweet, adorable perfect Southern Belle of an aunt. What was so funny was that Aunt S is an octogenarian from North Carolina who definitely acts her age. But Beatrice was my age. I decided to chalk it up to her quirkiness and found it more endearing than anything. Picturing her in all her prim, proper glory hanging onto to Joe on the back of his bike ended up being one of my favorite things about the book.

Joe was everything I wanted him to be—a growly, rough around the edges, alpha to his bones with a mile wide protective streak. Yeah, that totally worked for me. I loved how once he got his facts straight he went after his boom with everything in him despite the big roadblock in the way.

The suspense in the book was tied up in Beatrice’s issues with her father. At one point, I thought things were fixing to go South on me and I was so bummed I actually put the book down. Fortunately, Ms. Smith surprised me and went a completely different and refreshing way that had me grinning from ear to ear and feeling a little guilty that I’d doubted her.

Until Joe was a fun, sexy, quirky read that made for the perfect vacation read. I don’t beg for books often (well, like at all), so I’m glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and… had my friend do it for me. LOL. It’s good she loves me.

Until Joe by CP Smith is part of the Happily Ever Alpha World Series. This is the story of Bernice Armstrong and Joe Rouger. I have read (and Loved!) other books in this series and Bernice and Joe have been in other books, but with that said I felt this can be a standalone romance.
Joe has been divorced for over 10 years, has grown children and has been a hardcore business man. But he has come to a point in his life that he wants something more and more personal. Joe happens to spot Bernice who quickly seems to be gone in a flash but he goes after what he knows is his...which takes almost a year to find her. Bernice has been raised as a reserved southern belle who has start to rebel against what she has known and what she wants.
If you love alpha, instant love and hot reads this book is for you as it was for me. I Loved it! I hope to read more from this author.
