Sweet Spot (Irresistible) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 1,376 ratings

Our first meeting as neighbors was screwed from the start.
He was hot. I was naked. And we had no chance in hell at ever being platonic.

I’ll be the first to admit that I live at extremes. After going ten years locked in what felt like a dysfunctional marriage, I’m now decidedly boy-free. In nearly three years I’ve had no boyfriends, no flings, no dates and no sex. For the sake of my dream career, the sacrifice has been easy.

At least it was.

Until he came along.

Lukas Hendricks. He’s rude, gorgeous, arrogant – a stone-carved wall of muscle and distraction. He’s everything I know to avoid but there’s no avoiding your next-door neighbor. Oh yeah. The man now lives three steps from me and to make matters worse, he crashed into my life while I was relaxed in the tub – mortifying to say the least and it went something like this: I was exposed. He looked. He laughed.

And then I locked myself out.

In short, Lukas Hendricks was trouble from the start. And me?

I was – for the first time in years – about to be screwed.

Sweet, hot and sexy and with all kinds of complicated emotions. This first story is intriguing enough to make to want to read more in the series. A new author for me, and iwill explore more of her books.

I loved the sample of this book. I will admit I almost gave up a third of the way through as the Lia was almost too perfect but luckily I stuck with it. I prefer the characters to have some flaws. Lia won me back round! A good read.

Would have been 4 stars but for the dreadful narration of the FMC part by Ms Myles. Story is a relatively standard romance with quite a few, fairly well-written intimate scenes. Unlike many novels of this type the characters are pretty believable; the plot plausible and the HEA, though expected, felt like a natural progression, rather than a contrived requirement. Intimate scenes are pretty frequent throughout the novel but not overly detailed and I'd consider the novel as a Jalfrezi rather than a Korma. Love the descriptions of cooking and the emphasis on chocolate. Ms Rhys may not be an expert chocolatier but she knows the business.

Narration is the problem here. Many male narrators can't voice female desire to save their lives. Mr Masterson however has an absolutely gorgeous voice which I could listen to for hours. He doesn't make the mistake made by many others of artificially raising his natural register when voicing the FMC, allowing her a deeper than usual voice which sounds sultry, as opposed to vampish. Ms Myles however has a voice which I found irritating in the extreme. In parts she could have been reading an exam level biology text book. In other parts she sounded in turns, seriously bored; deeply embarrassed by what she was reading or as though she herself was trying to imitate an AI voice. I listened despite her, rather than because of her and it's a testament to Ms Rhys' writing that I finished listening at all. I'll make efforts to avoid anything voiced by Ms Myles again.

If you like uncomplicated, gentle romance with fairly realistic characters and plot lines and want a healthy dose of sensuality, please give this one a chance. Ms Rhys and Mr Masterson won't disappoint!

This is a lovely lovely love story. I enjoyed reading Lia and Lukas’ story.

Lukas meets Lia as he is staying in Tess (his sister’s) flat while she’s away, and she happens to live next door to Lia. Lukas is unable to open the door so knocks on Lia’s door to ask for help. She answers just out the bath, dripping wet in only her robe as she thinks it’s Tess. From the minute they see each other there’s uncontrollable physical attraction towards each other. Lia tries to rebel against the attraction and this story is about how Lukas wins her over.

Best book Stella has done in my opinion and I will be reading it again

Lia is doing her nightly ritual when it's interrupted by her new neighbour and he's hot and totally unexpected. His name is Lukas and he's Tess' brother and he's moving in while she's on vacation.

He awakes something within Lia that was dormant long before her move, because she's been more focused on making it with her job. So when they find out they're attracted to each other they start a "neighbours with benefits"relationship and they end up in deeper than either anticipated.

So can the two get over their insecurities and pasts and be with each other forever.

I did like this story, it's not my favourite Stella Rhys story, but it wasn't bad, it just lacked something and I really can't put my finger on it.

Every relationship doesn't need a label while you figure it out but there is a tipping point which Lia and Lukas both struggle with. I love that Lukas brings Lia out of her self imposed shell. I love that Lia completely supports Lukas and doesn't push him on the hard stuff but gives him time.

I started this series by reading the last book in it and I just HAD to go back and start from the beginning of the series. I am really loving this author and her writing style, it hooks me in and makes it so hard to put it down and do the mundane things in life!
They way she brings her characters to life is amazing, I absolutely loved Lukas and Lia and their road to a HEA and then she had characters that you just had to hate like Cam and Noelle, its incredible and I loved it! All the Wyatt details I'll leave out but I will say that it broke my heart.
The chemistry between Lukas and Lia was off the charts and the intimate scenes were so smokin' hot! I loved how protective of Lia Lukas was but I also loved how strong Lia was and everything she achieved was through her own merits and not dependent on the man!!! They were such a great support team for each other, even with their little ups and downs they had each others back!
Great secondary characters of course who helped make this such an amazing read for me and I really look forward to reading their books!!
Overall a fabulous start to a series and I will definitely be continuing onto the next book!

I love me a good enemies to lovers book and this one was rather entertaining. I loved getting to know the characters and watching the story climb and change. I am excited to see how this series unfolds and hope I get more from these characters. Seeing into their pasts and how far they have come. Mix that with how things changed and developed and I was hooked. Definitely a book I would recommend.

Lia and Lukas do not have the sweetest meet cute. She’s totally unimpressed with his lewd ways. Lucky for him, she can see past his BS into the man he can be.

I liked the way they are honest and open about what happens to them. No shocking miscommunication. He turns out to be a sweet man, even if he starts out as a complete MW. He’s had a sad loss in his life, which he finally makes peace with Lia.

    A cute HEA.

I first stumbled upon this book through Hoopla and my local library. It had a shirtless guy on the cover and a synopsis of a gorgeous arrogant man and a woman who has rules and walls and no time for men. This is my favourite kind of storyline.

Lia has strict rules after getting out of a horrible long term relationship with the guy from high school. She is now focused on getting her career and dream job off the ground and has no time for any distractions. Unfortunately she can’t control her new temporary neighbour Lukas , and his arrogance triggers her instantly. Ok ya he’s hot, but she knows with those looks he is going to be trouble for her and her carefully planned life.

Lukas is amazed by Lia from the start. Her not falling all over him surprises him, and the more she pulls away the more he can’t stop thinking about her and wanting her. The banter between these two is adorably cute and still steamy at the same time. There is only so much resistance before they clash and fall into each other’s arms…

I adored this book. It’s a great opening to the series, introducing many characters that you just know are going to be getting their own stories as well. Lia and Lukas have a lot to work through by themselves, but also working together they can develop into the couple they never imagined they would be. Super cute, you gotta give it a go!
