Emma loves to write, just don't ask her to write about herself. If she isn't writing, you can find her lost in a book or trying to get her doggo to take a selfie with her. He usually refuses. At the end of the day, you can find Emma at the closest Mexican restaurant eating queso and sipping on a margarita. She lives in Texas with her husband and dog.
Vow of Sacrifice is book five in the Vow series by Emma Renshaw. This book can definitely be read as a stand alone. The characters do recur in each book. I have only read the previous book, Vow of Devotion, and fell in love with it. So I loved getting a bit more of Hudson and Ava in this one.
We met Callan and his younger teenage sister, Brae in the previous book when they were Hudson’s roommates. Now they have their own apartment two doors down from Carmen. Callan is his sixteen year old sister’s legal guardian. He escaped the life he was leading in Chicago and brought Brae to Austin for a better life, a life with a brighter future for his sister. Callen works for Hudson’s construction company. Carmen, who helped to raise Hudson and his brothers, has been mentioning their new neighbor, Iris. Callan just assumed that she was another one of Carmen’s senior friends. Until he saw her, and her eyes captivated him. Eyes filled with so many things. Callan just knew that this woman was going to be important to him.
It’s been two years since Iris escaped the horror that was her life. She spent most of that time trying to remain lost amongst the people of New York. But now she is ready to return to Austin and really begin her life. She’s got a brand new apartment right next door to the only person she can call friend, Carmen. Then she saw him. A man that she both feared and wanted to be closer to.
“With the barest touch, my soul knows his.”
Callan instinctively knows that he’s going to have to be patient with Iris. But he also knows that he will do whatever it takes to win her trust. Because he wants more with her.
“She’s no longer just something I want, she’s something that I need.”
Iris finds herself enveloped with Callan’s friends. She has girl friends for the first time and experiences the joys of just being with people that cares about her. By nature, Callan is a very protective man. He’ll do whatever it takes to keep those he cares about safe. He knows that Iris is hiding from something. That she has pain in her past. He also knows that he’ll do whatever it takes to keep that pain in her past. But, both Callan and Iris’s pasts find a way back.
“Don’t hide in the shadows when everything you are deserves to be in the light.”
This was such a fantastic read! Callan surprised me in every way. There is so much more to him that you think when you first meet him. He’s got his hands full trying to take care of his sister and with his job. I loved, though, how he just knew that Iris was worth getting to know. And his dedication to anyone that was important to him. And I also loved watching Iris blossom and grow with the love and support of Callan and his friends. You could just see her confidence growing with each page. This series is just so amazing and I pretty much know that I’ll read anything this author writes.
Vow Of Sacrifice will have you the edge of your seat, dying to know what’s around each corner of this story. I’ve fallen in love Emma Renshaw’s perfect blend of romance and suspense!
Where to start with this book as it just has ALL the feels in it. From the prologue, you can feel the pain that Iris endures thanks to her husband. How she feels trapped. My heart broke for her so much. Fast forward a bit, and she is right on the path of Callan. Granted there was a saucy little matchmaker for these two, but I love how they gravitated towards each other. Callan with his troubled past and Iris with hers, they seem destined to find each other. To be honest, I have been dying for Callan’s story since we first met him in James’ book. There was something about him that made you just wanna snuggle up and love him, and let me tell you, Renshaw did him justice with this book. He is such a fierce protector of those he loves. How he takes care of Brae as well. The one thing I adored about Iris, is her growth through the story. How she was such a shell of a woman when first meeting Callan to being so strong as to not back down from her jerk of an ex. Then there is the fact that Iris is brought into the circle that this whole series has created. It is the perfect example of family doesn’t mean blood and they look out for one another. There is always that chance an author takes when writing about a tough topic that can be so taboo. With this story, I felt that Renshaw did it with grace and justice. You can feel the pain that Iris endured and how it affected her years later still. You get that sense of fear but then strength as she grows within the love of Callan and Brae. The strength she draws from all the girls and their past experiences. This is one raw and emotional story with a message of survival and finding love again. I am sad this series has come to a close but it was an epic ride! Closing with Callan and Iris was a great ending and so much love! If you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend it. By far one of my favorite series and favorite authors of all time! Stalker for life!
One thing I noticed in this series is that book 4, 5 and 6 are shorter that the first three. I did like this book I just feel that their relationship was very fast paced and there were not really much moments where the MC could just talk about themselves. Although they knew each others past they didn't know basic things about each other. Brae and Corbin are my absolute favorite couple and I can't wait to read their book.
“For the rest of your life, no matter what we are, I will protect you. I’ll tear apart Heaven and Hell to keep you safe.”
The Vow Series has been one of my favorites series ever! These characters and their journeys have been amazing! I totally enjoyed these stories sooo much 😍😍😍 and Vow of Sacrifice was the perfect ending! Emma delivers magic with every book she releases ♥️♥️♥️
“His blazing eyes sear into my soul and claim me as his.”
Callan and Iris have a special connection and the relationship developing between them is to die for. I can’t help it but love Callan a little bit more page after page. They are one of my favorite couples! The plot blew my mind. It was unique and fascinating! VOS is Definitely one of my favorite reads this year. It made me feel so many emotions at once, I just could not put it down! Can’t recommend it enough!
VOW OF SACRIFICE will be here on June 11th! Pre-order the last book in the Vow Series now! You need this book boyfriend in your life!!!
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
I totally got sucked into the story for this one, however the editing still needs quite a bit of work with misspelled words all over the place.
So Callan is ex mafia and Iris is still on the run from an abusive ex-husband who still wants her back, This book is basically Callan chasing after a very skittish Iris with other characters from the series in the book a lot, however this book can certainly be read as a stand alone with no problem.
Iris has been hiding from her e-husband for two years, however it is her next-door neighbour Callan and his sister that open Iris up to a less chilling world and a man that will do anything to protect those he cares about.
Callan and Iris grew up with crap backgrounds and he can see that all is not well with Iris from the beginning and does everything he can to make her feel safe that that he is not a threat.
I loved all the supporting character and that they are all there for each other and immediately just accept Iris into their fold. When i have time i will certainly come back to finish this series from the beginning.
Callan has managed to leave his dangerous life in the past and created a new life for himself and his 16 year old sister Brae. He now works in construction and has developed a close group of friends, but he knows that it could all end if the people from his past find him.
Iris has escaped a dangerous past of her own. She doesn’t want to attract attention, so she keeps to herself and doesn’t trust her judgment when it comes to other people.
From the moment they meet Callan senses a kindred soul. He can see the tension and fear that she carries which raises all his protective instincts. He shows her by word and action that he can be trusted and that she is no longer alone but sometimes your past has a way of resurfacing at the worst time.
I loved these two characters together as Iris is so much stronger than she realizes while Callan is so protective and understanding. It was great to see Callan and Iris’s relationship unfold but to catch up with the other characters that we know and love.
What do you get when you cross a protective hero with swoon-worthy lines guaranteed to melt the pants off a nun and a strong and determined heroine? A wicked book hangover when you finish binge reading Emma Renshaw's "Vow of Sacrifice." Once again, she's delivered a strong dose of romance designed to induce after-effects not even Gatorade or a Costco sized bottle of Advil could cure. From the very beginning, I was rooting for Iris. She's the kind of character I find myself drawn to. She knows what she wants and made it happen. One of the things I admire most about Emma's characters are their abilities to fit in with the rest of the gang AND their ability to stand on their own. It's the best of both worlds. Callan is the kind of partner we all deserve. He's patient and super protective which is an instant panty-melter. Seriously, find yourself a "Foxy." If you have one, hold onto them. They're a keeper. I won't give too much away, but that wedding scene had me feeling some type of way. I love a man who isn't afraid to let go once in a while. Now that I've finished Vow of Sacrifice, I'll be (im)patiently waiting for what Emma comes out with next. If you're thinking of reading this, stop thinking and start doing.
Oh wow. I wasn’t sure where this story was going to go but I was happy with the overall outcome. Iris is so strong. With her past she fought her demons and really had all my respect through out the book. Callan was as amazing as I hoped. His love for the people around him and his dedication was something that everyone hopes for. I loved seeing the secondary characters from the other books in this series. We also got to see (well hopefully) a glimpse into another book this author is going to write. I will cross my fingers and hope for that story.
This novel was well plotted and everything for the most part was wrapped up in a pretty little epilogue. It had that suspense aspect that I love but it didn’t over shadow the romance aspect. My heart is so full when it comes to thinking about the progression of the romance. I have a smile on my face and will every time I think about these two. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Vow of Sacrifice by Emma Renshaw is book 5 in the Vow Series. This is the story of Callan and Iris. This book can be a standalone book if you wish to do so. Iris has been working to rebuild her life after surviving some true horrors. Now she is working to build friendships and her job, to move past her old life. Callan too is working to escape his past and build a better future for his sister. When he sees Iris he knows there is a connection with her but he will need to go slow to build the trust between the two. But sadly sometimes the past doesn't stay the past which brings them to take action. Really enjoyed this exciting read.
We finally get mysterious Callen's story and it did not disappoint. I loved seeing the softer side of Callen and Iris brought out all the softness and sexiness of Callen.
This book gives you a wide range of emotions, as Iris is running from an abusive relationship, while Callen is trying to live his life the best he can away from the mafia. From the first time we meet Callen in James' book, you know that there is depth and such a story behind his stormy eyes. How he's raising his little sister and now as he takes in Iris to be her protector.
Emma does a great job of balancing the suspense with the romance. Once you start one of her books, you don't want to put it down. As always, each book can be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend Emma's Vow Series. It's seriously one of my top suspense romance series!
Not my first read by author, she was a NEW to me author last year but so far I have read every book in this series, so my excitement for this is crazy! Been waiting for it very much!!
Okay first of SWOON CITY is what I will call this book! Broody, alpha, hard..GAH, Callan is dreamy, he is the perfect alpha...where Iris is this tiny little thing with her big eyes as Callan calls her...
This was an enjoyable read. In this we have Callan and Iris. Both have come from troubled pasts. However, together they find a way to get through it. I also enjoyed seeing characters from the past books. I just love their friendships and lovd how they accept anyone into their group.
My first five star read in long while! Since the week I read Emma’s last book. Her writing simply takes you away and has you rooting for her characters. I love the story and character development. Read this whole book on a flight and had a hard time not reacting out loud to parts of it. She is by far one of the most talented writers I have read in recent years and I love the way her imagination works and the stories she creates. One of my only (if not my only) authors that so far have five stars for each of her books!
Vow of Sacrifice is Emma Renshaw’s newest release, and it’s filled with suspense, steamy romance, laugh out loud moments and even a few that will make you cry. It’s the perfect ending to the Vow series that has captivated readers from the very beginning with Savannah’s story of unrelenting strength and determination. The Vow Series continues to get better with each release and while I’m sad to see it ending, I can’t wait to see what’s next.
We follow Callan who first appeared in Vow of Honor as James childhood best friend and Iris. Iris is fleeing an abusive ex, and while she knows she’s been lucky so far, she’s constantly looking over her shoulder wondering when her time may run out. Callan got out of a life no one ever hopes to escape from, and he was able to escape with his younger sister Brae. He too has been looking over his shoulder hoping that they’re truly safe, but one can never know for sure.
Callan knows Iris is hiding something, he wants to help heal her and free the chains she has to carry every day. Iris knows just how deceiving people can be, Pierce (Her ex husband) was once someone she though she could trust and she doesn’t want to make the same mistake again. While she thinks Callan is different, once can never be too careful.
“Iris deserves to be free from the chains that are holding her down. The sassy, confident, fiery girl I see glimpses of needs to shine, I need to know her”
Once their walls start coming down what builds between them is a beautiful. To see each of them learn to trust one another, especially Iris seeing her truly start to trust again, and her fiery personality, her real personality not just existing, is wonderful to see. Together Callan and Iris are able to heal one another, they’re not interested in clipping each others wings but instead, they want to soar higher together.
“I will never hurt you.” Callan vows. “I’d sacrifice everything to keep a smile on your beautiful face”
This story is one you’ll remember for a long time to come. Wether you’ve been in an abusive relationship, knows someone who has or still is, or even just find Iris strength remarkable, this book will be something you remember for a long time to come!
“If going through hell brought me here, I wouldn’t change it. Not a single second of the pain. You’re worth the end result.”
This is the fifth book in a series and I highly recommend starting at the very beginning at Vow of Retribution which is Savannah and Liam’s story.

Emma Renshaw has written an inspiring story of survival, love and revival in Vow of Sacrifice. This story was deeply emotional and riveting. This story has love in so many forms. Loving self, loving a family that one finds along the rough path of live and loving again after breaking into pieces.
Iris is a brilliant character. Her childhood was not affluent but she had some truly cherished time with her grandparents. Unlike her married life which was full of abuse in the worst form. When she finally finds the courage and means to restart her life, she meets Callan. Callan's past has some dark secrets but he is also living a new life with his sister. Iris has scars in her soul those made her vulnerable and Callan is one intense and brooding guy. But Iris activates a protective streak in him. Can they be together and mend their broken parts? Will the demons from past come back to hunt and hurt them?
Iris is so strong and has unlimited capacity to love even after getting bruised and shattered so badly. I admire and respect her. The author tackled this sensitive subject pretty well. And she needed a dedicated and overprotective man like Callan who will go to any length to support her and shelter her. I just love this man so much. The author brought them close slowly in a realistic pace as both had some major issues. Their chemistry was pretty hot and intense. The story had a gripping storyline with interesting twists and turns to give the story an additional thriller like feel.
Vow of Sacrifice by Emma Renshaw is a real, honest and sensual love story. This story talks about inner strength and taking chances. That is something all of us can use a bit!
Vow of Sacrifice, the fifth book in the Vow Series, is about the powerful love story between Callan and Iris. After leaving the mafia, Callan has created a peaceful new life for himself and his younger sister Brae. All he cares about is providing the best life for her possible and protecting her from his dangerous past. Iris is on the run from her abusive ex-husband and struggling with the trauma caused by staying with him much longer than she ever should have. She's closed herself off from practically everyone except her neighbour Carmen, previously featured in Vow of Devotion as Hudson's housekeeper and family friend. When Iris moves next door to both Carmen and Callan she slowly begins to open up her heart to the possibilities of friendships and love. Callan immediately is drawn to Iris and his protective instincts tell him that she needs him more than she knows. When both of their pasts try and interfere in their present they must stand together in order to defeat the encroaching evils because failure is simply not an option. The love between Callan and Iris is truly inspiring and beautiful. Life after trauma is never easy and the ability to lean on those who love you is an invaluable asset on the path to healing, which is beautifully portrayed in his book. Emma's unbelievable ability to fully immerse you in her stories in order to identify with her characters is truly astounding and keeps me coming back for more of her works time and time again. This series has been incredible and I've loved every single one. I can't wait to see what she writes next.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
We met Callan back in James' book, Vow of Honor. He was James' old best friend whom he had to leave behind, and honestly when I read Vow of Honor, I didn't like Callan at all. So it was a really happy surprise when I decided to read his book and absolutely loved it and him as a character.
Callan is working for Hudson's construction company and is the legal guardian of his 16 year old sister, Brae. Their relationship is really heart warming, as he would do anything to protect her, and is trying to give her the best life possible. He's constantly looking over his shoulder afraid one day the ghosts from his past will come back to harm him and his sister, so he's very protective of her and her safety. But for now, they're both enjoying their new group of friends, and their new apartment until Callan hears his noisy new neighbor, Iris, who's louder than an elephant. When he finally gets fed up enough and goes next door to confront her and is met with beautiful eyes and a scared soul.
Callan's instincts kick in, and he realizes there's way more that lies beneath the surface of Iris, and he slowly takes his time to get to know her and her story. Iris and him share a really beautiful bond that had me turning the pages as quickly as possible, and their connection was really heartwarming. Callan proved to be really patient, protective and I loved that he was willing to wait with Iris until she felt comfortable around him and they had a deep trust in each other. I felt so bad for Iris and all she had to go through, but she was a really strong character, and I loved that she was a fighter and started to heal emotionally throughout the book and found her voice and her pizzaz. I loved the bond that Iris and Brae shared also, I thought it was really adorable.
Iris had a good childhood she was raised by her grandmother and was happy even if they didn’t have money. She was loved and cared for. Then her world fell apart. Her grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and her world crashed. She thought she found someone to lover her and care for her again but found that she only put her life in danger. She was lucky to get out alive.
Callan has finally gotten away from the mafia and is trying to raise Brae without the danger in their lives. His new neighbor is noisy and annoying. Brae is a teenager who needs her sleep and isn’t getting it with their new neighbor, Iris. Callan meets Iris in a situation where they are both on edge, he’s protecting his sister and she’s afraid of everyone, so he puts her on edge when she opens her door for him.
Callan may have come from a dangerous life, but he’s really a gentle man who only wants to do right by his little sister and maybe have a normal life. Iris and Callan are great together, she finally learns what it’s like to be loved and cared for by a real man.
I love these two together and love how Iris’s sassiness and light finally comes out. I hope there are more to these guys because the characters are awesome in this series. I love these stories. These men are so tough and Alpha until their women come into their lives and show them how to be the men they are supposed to be.
I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend this book as well as all of the books in the series. These men and some of the women have secrets, but once you're accepted into their group you will never get away from them. They all protect, love and care fiercely for those in their group.
Iris was all alone in the world, so it was easy for her to fall for the wrong man and marry him. And that man had her living through a nightmare that she almost didn't escape from. And this is all from the Prologue of Vow of Sacrifice that had me ready to shed tears already, so I was like OH MY HELL WHY EMMA RENSHAW?! Now fast forward some time, and Iris lives near Callan, a man who wants to be left to himself as does she, as he tries to raise his younger sister on his own. Callan has his own demons, which are calling him on the phone, and stressing him out badly. However, when he meets Iris finally, there are sparks, and all of Callan's protective instincts start to come to the surface with her. He's not sure what has happened to her, but he knows something has in her past. As they spend more time together, those sparks won't be denied, and it wasn't super quick, but finally they did ignite, leading to sexy times that lit the sheets on fire. Let me not forget to mention that there's a cast of secondaries that were just amazing, like people from previous stories, not to mention a crazy lady that fed them, & his younger sister Brae. They added so much humor to this story of angst, which I for one, am very thankful for. Finally, the twists when Iris & Callan's pasts showed up together, my f-bombs went crazy at that point, because I didn't see that coming at all! So that's enough out of me, just one click this bad boy for yourselves! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Callan has done everything in his power to give his sister a normal childhood now that they are away from Chicago. He will do whatever it takes to keep her safe and happy. Love wasn't on his radar until he laid eyes on Iris. When Iris moves into the apartment next door, she feels like she has made a horrible mistake. Coming home to Austin brings all her anxiety and fear rushing back. Meeting a guy like Callan was never the plan, she was done with men. But their attraction is undeniable and he makes her feel safe. Will Callan be able to help her fight her way free of the past so they can have the future they deserve?
I am loving the Vow series, it is full of feels! Callan is a great guy who is a tad overprotective of his sister. He has always taken care of her and she is his priority. Iris has had a rough life and isn't sure coming home was a wise decision. She missed Austin so much but the memories and the man behind them are dangerous in more ways than one. She has no one in her corner, no family or friends. Her loneliness and isolation were heartbreaking. I absolutely loved watching these two find each other and the family Callan brings into her life is very much the icing on this cake. Ms Renshaw is a lovely and talented writer. Sitting down with one of her books puts a smile on my face every time!
I don’t want this series to end! Each book has brought us more and more into the lives of this group of characters and they are as amazing as expected. I was really glad that Emma included Callan’s story, and she did not disappoint in the ending of this series! Iris had a tough life growing up, and when she finally thought she caught her break, it ended up being her version of hell. After time, patience, and planning, she finally escaped and thought she was free, although she still lived in fear. Thinking it was a good time to come home, she returns to Texas after two years, but it makes her more paranoid than before that her past will come back to haunt him. Much like Iris, Callan had a past that very much related to her and is now on the other side of it all raising his sister and working a honest job. When he meets Iris, he is intrigued by her actions, and soon finds out how much the two have in common and why he has an urge to protect her. When both their pasts come back to haunt them, the question remains if the two will not only make it out alive, but make it out together. I loved the ending to this and it left me with so many questions on who is next! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Emma Renshaw gives her readers a quick little ditty full of all kinds of drama and wraps it up in a nice little bow. This is the first book in the series I have read, so I did feel a little lost with Callan's background and surrounding friends. Iris was a new character introduced to the clique and seems to fit in nicely.
It's no secret that Callan's mob days are behind him and he's living a nice, quiet life in Texas now raising his sixteen year old sister and holding down a construction job. Leave it to a nosey, but kind neighbor to throw a wrench in his peaceful life, the the form of a woman.
Iris has left some dark days behind her as well, but has come back to Texas where her dark days were-this I didn't understand. To me, she should have stayed away, nonetheless, she wouldn't have met her neighbor Callan if she did.
Callan and Iris's story is predictable and heavy. Almost too heavy of a situation for Emma Renshaw to clear up in such few pages, which made the story feel choppy and rushed. Iris has quite the past, yet seems to get over it all fairly quickly.
Vow of Sacrifice reads as a standalone, however I did feel like I was missing out on parts of the story, not knowing where they originated.
Has a book ever made you want to, idk, turn into a complete weirdo that wants to hunt down the author and hug them forever? Asking for a friend. Also that friend is me. Who else would befriend a crazy person? Seriously though Emma Renshaw soared way beyond every expectation I ever had for Vow of Sacrifice. And I had some pretty dang high ones. Callan is one of those heroes that you just immediately love. Protective and loving without being suffocating or controlling. Gentle when it’s needed most but still helping Iris to find more of her inner strength. A loving brother. An amazing friend. He. Is. Everything. The perfect missing puzzle piece to Iris. And Iris, where she could have easily been a very different person after all she’s been through (and no one would blame her) she’s still like a ray of sunshine. A genuine sweetheart with a solid strength that even she doesn’t realize she has. Their story is one that keeps you glued to the pages with the heartwarming romance and a dash of suspense that makes you stay hooked start to finish.
I was easily drawn into this story, that prologue seriously; I didn’t realize I was holding my breath until I finally released it. There were several moments throughout the story that elicited a similar response. It’s surprisingly dark at times but the lighter story is warm and loving.
This is a realistic story full of lovable characters that have an incredible bond of friendship; they’re a family. Callan has left his dark past, raising his sister and is finally settling into a more comfortable life. He’s patient, understanding and very protective of his family, which makes him hard to resist; I love big brother Callan, just as much as his “Foxy” side. Iris’ fear is evident and justified, her past horrifying. I watched her grow, become more confident and finally find her voice but it’s her strength I’ll remember.
This is the fifth book in the Vow Series. I haven’t read any of the others in the series but I still enjoyed reading it as a standalone. I love this group of friends so now I want to go back and read the rest of them and get to know them from the beginning.
I absolutely loved this book. It was a definite page turner. I couldn't put it down. I was hooked from beginning to end. My emotions were, happy, angry, love, sad and I was in tears. The characters Iris and Callan were meant to be. Iris needed someone to protect her.
Callan had taken his little siste, Brae, away from their mother who was more interested in drugs than her kids. Callan finally adopted Brae. Iris was in a very abusive relationship. She had saved for years to get away from her abusive husband. Iris finally got away from her husband and by accident meets Carmen, who takes her in like her own child. Iris thought that after 2 years, her ex husband had finally left her alone. She was so very wrong. Iris met Callan who is her next door neighbor. They start a relationship, which is not easy at first. They both have a past and that past is about to catch up to them.
Emma Renshaw has done it again. With the Vow series. Vow of Sacrifice has intrigue, romance and twists and turns that I didn't see coming. I loved this book and highly recommend it.
I’ve wondered what kind of match Callan would find. I mean, I knew she’d be perfect, but I didn’t know what she might have in her past or present that would reach out to grab Callan’s attention and then his heart. Iris is so far beyond the perfect that I could’ve imagined. She’s been beaten down, almost broken, and terrorized, but she’s still breathing. She may be existing more than living at first, but Callan, Brae, and the rest of their family-by-choice make darn sure to help bring Iris back into the glorious sunlight so she can thrive. I adored Callan’s determination to be everything Iris could ever want or need, even if that means sacrificing himself for her. I adored Iris for her drive to push past her fear so she can grab onto life and Callan with both hands. Both Callan and Iris richly deserve the HEA they found with each other. I’m sad to see the end of this series, but Callan and Iris’s story was the perfect conclusion to this group of friends/family.
Iris has been on the run and hiding for the last 2 years. She escaped her ex with her life and the little bit of money and clothes she had been able to squirrel away secretly. Callen managed to walk away from the mafia and has been looking over his shoulder as well. To make things more complicated he has custody of his teenage sister. Will the secrets from their past destroy them?
This is book 5 in the Vow series and can be read as a standalone but the characters from previous books are included so better read in order. The story has characters who have been nearly broken by their pasts but learn just how strong they really are. I love Callen and Iris but all the characters in this series are wonderful. Callen is so patient with Iris that you can’t help but love him. The author has given us laughter, love and a healthy dose of suspense to keep you turning the pages. I suggest you grab a copy of the any of the Vow books and start reading.
