The Soul Sisters code for Lottie, Dolly, Neely and me has a real meaning, we’re true friends who connect and understand each other, like true sisters. We’re there for each other no matter what, it’s a real connection.
But what happens when that stops?
What happens when you choose to walk away and close yourself off from them? Life happens.
Ugly, dream shattering life.
Sonny and I were the last singles standing and I wanted him to sweep me off my feet, romance me like the classic love stories I adored. Instead his disdain for me left me devastated, especially when it was so obvious.
My hometown held too many reminders of the life I couldn’t have so I jumped at the ‘opportunity of a lifetime’ and made a break for freedom. Only freedom was the last thing I got.
This is my story, I am Florence Smith, desperately and hopelessly looking for my happily ever after, at whatever cost.
Finding Love– A Soul Sisters Novel - is the fourth book in the series, which tells the story of four girls, friendship and their path to finding ‘the one.’
A tragic story of coerced choices, shattered dreams and manipulation eventually leading to a best friends to lovers story.
A beautiful story of friendship, adventure, best friends to lovers, mistakes and regrettable relationships.
The Plot: Flo: Beautiful inside and out. Flo has watched all her friends settle down, she has been the listener the adviser and the entrust-er of secrets but when is it Flo's time?. Her childhood best friend and crush Sonny doesn't seem to be wanting to settle down any time soon so when hopes dwindle that anything between them may become more Flo accepts a teaching job in the U.K for a year.
Sonny realises to late what has been in front of him the whole time and pressure from his friends about making a move had shoved him in the opposite direction into man-whoring ways.
Flo begins her new life in England a fresh start and hope of maybe finding love what she didn't expect was a hot movie star in the above penthouse to take notice.
Flo begins a new relationship of horror. Domestic abuse, isolation, loss of control Casper Goldman in months changed from the charming man, devoting boyfriend pinup and movie star in Flo's eyes and became Casper Goldman the monster. In public Casper is every girls dream, behind doors he's your worst nightmare and Flo found out to late, the claws and control of Casper were already dug in to deep and it didn't take much to poke the beast.
Flo's late-night chats with her soul sisters and childhood memories with Sonny became a distant memory.
I loved this story, Flo displayed a typical life of a woman suffering from domestic abuse and Victoria Johns wrote Flo's story with delicacy.
Flo: The nurturer inside me began to waver and I knew it was easier to give in again my inner chimp relented and took him in my arms.
I could cure him. If I preserved and loved him harder..
Casper: "Why did I have to hurt you? Why did you make me do it? I didn't want to do it. I didn't want to make you bleed"
A great series to follow, I loved all characters and the family feel to the group of friends.
Told in dual pov's with hot moments I was captivated from start to the Happily Ever After. Flo deserved a fairy-tale ending after her Grimm's fairy-tale and it was written brilliantly by Victoria Johns.
Flo has loved Sonny for as long as she can remember but it is time for her to accept that he will never feel the same way. She decides the only way to move forward with her life is to take a job overseas and leave him and her hometown behind. When she meets a man she believes it will be the happy ever after she has always dreamed of but it soon turns into a nightmare.
Sonny regrets that he never realized how he felt about Flo while she was still there. When she returns to her hometown will he prove to be the man she needs or the man she needs to stay away from?
What a fitting conclusion to a great series. Flo’s strength and resilience shines through and the friendship between the four friends is something to behold.
Of all the Soul Sisters series, this is the story which brought me to my knees completely. Flo is like the rest of her squad, harboring a crush on a selfish man. His name was Sonny, and is one of her best friends. He’s not giving it back though, and Flo eventually gets over it, deciding on taking a job in the UK teaching for a year. So guess what?! Sonny all of sudden realizes what he lost (can you feel my eyes rolling into the back of my head), but it’s too late. Flo is moving on with a new adventure overseas, and even a new dude. Oh my poor girl, her new adventure turns into a nightmare. Who knew that the charming movie star Casper Goldman’s star persona hid a monster, and this is the point that I found my heart in my throat. See, Victoria Johns really wrote this story with a very realistic feel when it came to Flo & Casper, and not only did I find it hard to breathe, but also had the tears flowing like crazy. As for Sonny?! Yeah, I blamed his selfishness as reasons that all of this started in the first place. Not saying it was his fault for Casper’s actions, just that if he had gotten his head out of his butt, things may or may not have headed in the direction it did. So yeah, this story destroyed my emotions completely, and everyone should hit your one click buttons to have it do the same to you too. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Finding Love by Victoria Johns is a friends-to-lovers romance with a very different twist. It is book four in the Soul Sisters Series; each book features one of the group of girlfriends.
Florence is the last single girl of the group and she has secretly crushed on friend, Sonny. However, Sonny is quite the dolt and doesn’t realize how Florence feels. When she realizes her lust is unrequited she jumps at the overseas assignment she has been offered.
Her dalliance with British film star, Casper, leads to nothing but sorrow and pain. His charm expired as soon as the conquest was secured. Back to the States Flo goes, where she hopes to hide from her violent ex-lover and avoid life in general.
I haven’t read the prior books so I’m not invested in any of the characters. Jumping in on book four left me feeling the characters were one dimensional, so I’d recommend starting the series with book one to get the full flavor of the main character. The story layout is interesting and well-paced. Finding Love is a worthy read for fans of the series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review which was done in conjunction with Nerd Girl Official: www.nerdgirlofficial.com
Flo and Sonny have been friends for years her feelings toward him start to change and she sees a future with him in it, but he doesn't feel the same and unfortunately, Sonny doesn't feel the same way and tells everyone how much he doesn't want her only poor Flo always overhears how much he doesn't want her. She decides it's time to move on and moves to the UK for a teaching job hoping to get over Sonny she agrees to date this new man, and that where her nightmare starts.
This book was amazing!! I totally never saw any of it coming and was blown away with how the story played out. 5 stars doesn't seem nearly enough for the emotional rollercoaster that was Flo's life. I didn't want the series to end but it definitely ended on a high.
Suspense, passion, excitement and thrilling twists. Follow the final Soul Sister's journey as Flo embarks on an adventure to find herself that tests her to the very limit. Enticing reading and a must read!
Finding love was good the twists and turns that poor Flo had to go through were awful. She desperately wanted her own happily ever after but the cost was high.
Not at all what i was expecting. really enjoyed this book. I loved how Casper was such a surprise of a character, never saw that coming and my gosh i am not a fan either. Florence i adored her, she goes through so much on the path of love and what a dangerous and heartbreaking path it can sometimes be. Sonny, why oh why can you not get it through your head what others see. A great story full of surprises and has you getting invested with the characters, especially Florence
