A slow boat on a river of grief...it meanders through your heart. It's poignant, very relatable and simplistically written.
β€œTime doesn’t heal all wounds, but when enough of it passes, it gets easier to breathe.”

description

K has let the emotions speak and taken a simple approach to bare Saylor Ferraro's soul to us. The picture she paints, is very raw and tear soaked. Everyone who as lost anyone knows that there's a process of grieving.
Shock
Guilt
Anger
Sorrow
β€œGrief is constant but fluid. The form of it might be altered by the passing of time, but grief itself is infinite.”
You can't rush it, it takes it time.....and a lot of help. & support. Luckily Saylor "SOCKS" has both. Easton is the protective brother, her parents, her apple of the eye, baby-boy Knox and then there's Jase. He is her companion in this journey, having his heart dessicated with grief and loss himself...he knows!!

description

"Until now, I thought as the organ in my chest, the one that had ceased beating long ago, sputtered to life once more."
I love k's sweet simple books set in small towns. Very human, very touchable stories that she tells with lots of smiles through pain. The mood is healing and cathartic, turning from sorrow to hope
Cheesy Pickles cause Life, however it is....is worth living, maybe you'll hear knocks in your heartπŸ™‚

Where Forever Ends (Maplewood Falls, #1) by K. Street is another great read by the author. This one is full of all the feels. Saylor was living her HEA with a loving husband and great son. Then the unexpected happens and she is now a widowed single mother, barely surviving, struggling to move on to heal. So much so she moves to be near her brother, to live with him, work for him and hopefully heal.

Jase is her brother, Easton's best friend. He is himself still recovering from the loss of his almost fiance though more time has passed. This is a slow burn, Jase moves quicker for obvious reason. He wants her future but for every step forward there are two or twenty steps back.

I loved the slow build romance. The sex when they get to that point. Her kid. Loved Easton. This was an all the feels book with heavy emphasis on tissues for tears.

Honest, I don't know why I cant give it a 5 it just isn't there for me but I will give it a 4.5 stars and a great start to the new series.

Have your tissues y'all because this book will give your heart and emotions a heck of a ride right from Chapter 1!!! I just could not imagine the pain and grief that Saylor went through yet she had to muster the strength because it wasn't only her that needed to keep going but she had her son, Knox, that was needing her to continue to keep going. Easton has been through some pain just like Saylor and at first I was kind of doubtful that they would work out but let me say that they both complimented each other so nicely. Be prepared and enjoy the ride that will have you smiling, crying, laughing and falling in love at the same time. Kara~4 Stars

Where Forever Ends is the first book in the Maplewood Falls series. This is a standalone book. I thought I would have to stop reading this book due to the dislike of Cheetos by Saylor! (Just kidding) But seriously…never eating Cheetos again??? I wouldn't survive... LOL

This book is about a young woman who thought she had it all. A wonderful husband, a little boy, a beautiful home, a perfect marriage. In the blink of an eye, her husband is gone.

Survival is trying to figure out how to go on when your better half and partner for life is now no longer with us. Will there ever be a day that you don’t miss the one who is gone?

Jase is the ultimate man. One who has been in Saylor’s life for a long time. He is her brother’s best friend. He has the patience of a saint. The looks of a sexy lumberjack. Most important, he gets Saylor. Much more than the standard question, Are you ok?

This story goes thru the stages of grief. It was very sad for me to read. There are happy times and a great little boy. There is romance. There is cupcakes and silly socks. So with sadness, there comes happy times too! Happiness doesn’t come over night, it’s one day at a time.

When you meet and marry the love of your life you never expect it to end before you grow grey and wrinkly together. Saylor knows just how cruel life can be when her beloved husband is tragically taken from her and their son Knox.

The grief and longing is overwhelming as Saylor struggles to accept how life will be for them now. Her priority is their son and being the best mom she can be, whilst working through her grief over losing Colin. Months after his death she decides it’s time to move forward and sell the home that holds memories she is drowning in.

β€˜He deserved a happy childhood. It was time to stop treading water. I needed to start swimming.’

Saylor and Knox move to Maplewood Falls to live with her brother Easton. Being in the same town as her family will be good for both of them and will hopefully bring new beginnings with a fresh start. What Saylor was not expecting was coming face to face with her teenage crush Jase, her brother’s best friend. Like wine, he has gotten better with age, he is absolutely gorgeous.

Saylor feels like she is betraying her late husband just by even thinking about Jase and the guilt consumes her. The fact that Knox and Jase become firm friends just adds to the weight of what she is feeling. Colin should be here experiencing all these things with her, the future they planned to have together. But he isn’t coming back.

Jase and Saylor form a friendship that gives her comfort in the knowledge that if she needs him, he will be there for her and that’s all she needs right now. However, as the months pass she cannot ignore the growing feelings between them. Knox is getting used to having Jase in his life and the bond they have is growing. The more she begins to feel for Jase, the more she is worried about losing what she had with Colin.

Jase has to be one of the sweetest guys I have ever read about. What he feels for Saylor and Knox is unquestionable. He knows that until she is ready he is willing to wait, no matter how long it takes. This is not a one sided thing and once Saylor makes peace with her past they could truly have something beautiful.

β€˜But, one day, you’ll be ready to open your heart again, and you’ll see that maybe where forever ends is just a different beginning.’

I absolutely loved this story. I felt the depth of grief that Saylor was experiencing and the guilt she fought with over what was growing with Jase. I loved Knox, totally adorable and you never knew what was going to come out of his mouth. This was a fabulous reading highlight of my weekend!

Excerpt:

East reached for the bakery box, and I pulled it away.
β€œOh no, big brother. A deal is a deal.” I held the baked goods hostage. β€œDid I mention she’s really pretty?”
β€œThe bakery chic?”
God, he’s exhausting.
I rolled my eyes. β€œKeep up, man.”
I wanted him to get back out there. To find the one. Men like my brother did not grow on trees. East was driven. He’d spent a lot of years focused on his career and building his business. He owned his homeβ€”not to mention, income properties. He was a catch. When we were younger, all my friends had had a crush on him. But he was my brother, so gross. I still wanted him to be happy.
β€œLet’s say I go out with her. It doesn’t work out, and she gets her heart broken. She’ll be so distraught that she closes shop, flees Maplewood Falls, and takes the holy grail of baked goods with her. A horrible sadness will befall the entire town.” He leaned forward and snatched the blue box, looking extremely serious. β€œDo you want that on your conscience? To bring that kind of shame on your family?”
I busted out laughing. β€œOh my God, you’re so dramatic.” I plucked a grape from the bowl of fruit and smacked him in the head with it.
β€œI went on a date last weekend. She's the artistic type, so I took her to the theater.” He lifted one hand into the air, quickly rotating his wrist with a flourish and bowed.
β€œWait. You’re dating?”
He quirked a brow.
Nope. Not dating.
β€œAh. So, you’re being a man-whore.”
β€œMommy, what is a man-whore?” Knox entered the kitchen with the thumb end of his fist rubbing sleep from his eyes.
Easton’s ceramic mug clanked against the hard surface as he doubled over in laughter, clutching his stomach.
β€œUm.”
How the hell am I going to explain this? Yeah … not happening. Little man does not need to know.
β€œAre you hungry, baby?”
Parenting 101: change the subject.
β€œI am not a baby.”
β€œOkay, grumpy butt.”
My brother was still laughing his ass off.
β€œI am not a grumpy butt either.” He bent and snatched up the grape from the floor, popping it into his mouth before I had a chance to stop him.
β€œEw, Knox. Don’t eat off the floor. That’s gross.”
He shrugged. β€œUh-huh. Five-second rule, Mommy.”
β€œWhere did you hear that?”
β€œAt school. Duke ate his gummies, off a floor. He shared ’em with me and Finley.”
Tears streaked Easton’s face.
I dropped my head into my hands. β€œUgh. Boys are so disgusting.”

4.5 My heart broke more than once but Jace saved me stars!!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh😭😭😭The first half of this book was so freakin depressing and I say that in a good way because I felt like my heart was just breaking in two with Saylor. It was such a real depiction of grief and anguish and hurt and hanging on by a thread.
The second half of the book was sad in parts but it was the joy that Jase brought into the book that made you smile, it was Knox’s little boy words and his humor that made you see the silver lining, what was on the horizon.
This book showed you that life doesn’t have to end when you lose a partner and grief is a part of growing and it comes from nowhere when you think you’re fine. It ebbs and flows like the tide.

Jase is what every woman wants! My gosh he was such an amazing hero. Even tho he was suffering as well he knew what he wanted but he was willing to wait and bide his time. Every chapter in his POV just hit me in the feels man😍😍😍
This was a book about grief, guilt (God the guilt), love, finding out that your heart is big enough to love more than one person and taking life by the horns and making it what you wanted.
AAAAAAND can we talk about that epilogue and that EXTENDED EPILOGUE!!!!!!! OH MY GOD I WAS IN HEAVEN!!!! I bawled my eyes out at that extended one from Jases POV!!!! It was EXCELLENT!!!!
I love this author and I have loved every book she’s ever written, this one was quite different imo. This was a sad but one of the most romantic! If you are a romance junky this is one for you!!!!
Thank you K for your words!

This is more than just your older brother’s best friend/single mom story. It is a book about learning to move beyond loss and heartache. It’s about finding that even when you feel like you are alone in a room full of people that you are never really alone. It’s about acceptance. It’s a book about love. K. Street always has me in a myriad of emotions when I read her books. Where Forever Ends is such a beautiful love story.

Jase and Saylor were perfect! I have no words, I couldn’t put this book down. It was so heartbreakingly beautiful. All the emotions I felt while reading their story was raw and just so real. My heart hurt when they hurt, I felt joy when they felt it...you just can’t help but connect and feel all they are feeling. That’s what K. Street did with this one. She connects her readers with the characters.

K. Street killed it with Where Forever Ends. This is by far my fave of her books. That’s saying a lot because her books are amazing. This book is a must read. You will be in all the feels and can’t help but fall for Jase Turner. And let me tell you, the fall is worth it!

This is the first book I have read by this author and I must say it blew me away. I loved everything about it. The characters, the plot, the chemistry, oh I could go on and on. It definitely pulled on my heartstrings for sure. The way it is written you truly feel what the characters feel and experience their lives with them. All of them even the secondary characters. I LOVED and I mean I LOVED Jase. He was absolutely the perfect swoon worthy hero. And boy he fits Saylor and little Knox perfectly. Oh Knox what a sweet little boy. I am definitely going to keep this author in my sites and look forward to reading much, much more from her.

I am once again immensely impressed with this author. Her ability to layer her characters and her story-lines flawlessly is awe inspiring to me. I have yet to read a book by her that was not absolute perfection in its execution. There has never been a moment where I have not been drawn into the story. This story, along with every other, drew me into the world she created and made me feel like I was a part of the story. It’s relatable. It happens. A lot. Her characters are everyday people that could be you or me.

This story is emotional. It’s more than just having #feels. It’s a story about a woman moving on with her life after her husband’s death. That type of journey coupled with this author’s style and voice, makes for a more than just #feels type of story. The reason I wanted to make sure and state this at the beginning of my review is because I want you (future readers) to heed caution when you #oneclick this book. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone who has had a recent loss that is still very real and raw. I don’t know how to pretty that up LOL I almost didn’t get past the 20% mark myself. The personal loss I have endured a mere couple of moths ago has devastated and shattered my world. I’m not okay. Altho my loss was not the same as our heroine’s, my heart hurt the entire time I read this story and I felt, down to my core, every single step she took. Okay, let’s move on …

Where Forever Ends is more than the journey of Saylor and Jase. It’s the journey of Saylor. Yes, ultimately she finds her way to Jase, but it is the struggle to her new future that takes center stage. At least that is my interpretation. And I must tell you, I was damn proud of her at end of the book. And even more proud of K Street for giving us a tough story and doing right! So mad props to you! Well done once again!

Some of you might be asking why the book doesn’t have a 5 star rating after reading this review. And I’m gonna tell you LOL So, if half stars were possible, the book would be a solid 4.5, but I can’t give it 5 because …. the cover *sigh* I know I know … shouldn’t be a big deal and it probably isn’t for 99.9% of readers out there. I’m the .1% sorry. So here’s the thing, it’s really hard to match a cover to all aspects of the story, I know that, but when you describe the hero in your book (that’s not me interpreting, that’s the author giving me words that paint a picture) as β€œsexy-lumberjack” that’s over 6 feet tall with broad shoulders, the guy on the cover is not him. And even if the words hadn’t been on the page, there’s no way the man I read on these pages comes close to the cover. Not even a little LOL So I’m the reader that gets twitchy when that happens. *shrug*

I'm really looking forward to Easton's story. I think it's gonna be explosive ;)

Thoughts: This book was so amazing! I am a huge fan of romances with crushes, as well as ones involving older brother’s best friend. This one was also perfect in that the author didn’t rush the story – it was the perfect slow-build romance, particularly in light of the fact that the heroine has just become a widow. It was touching how Jase gave her time to grieve and seemed to know exactly what she needed. He is the perfect hero for this book. It was so easy to fall in love with these characters and their love story.
It is also not very often that a book pulls a good laugh out of me, but that’s exactly what happened with this one! I have read a few books by her recently, and have loved every single one!
All in all - love, love, LOVED it!

Heartfelt, amazing love story that will entertain and keep your attention from the first page. A masterpiece of emotions and situations that make you want more from this author.

I’m pretty sure I need to give myself a couple days to write this review. I was so dang emotional while reading this book. The author takes a difficult situation, and makes it into a second chance that you never expected. It is a rollercoaster of emotions and you want to scream at Saylor because she needs to act on what is in front of her, but you are gutted for what she has been through. The author creates a world of grief and guilt that completely consumes you as a reader, and turns it into something beautiful. It has all you need in a romance book, just make sure to bring tissues!! It will captivate you and you will obsess until you finish this book. The way there are two parts, the past and present, gives you insight into the kind of person Saylor Jase are. The future will not take away the past. The way she lets go and moves on is touching and not sudden. Also , I loved Knox and East and can’t wait to see if East’s story is next! They brought so much to the book that hooked you even more!!

Jase is swoon worthy. He has been through a lot himself and is a constant support for Saylor. The author gives you this supportive, amazing man that was meant to be there for Saylor.

Saylor has been through so much. She is amazing and acts strong on the outside, but inside she is a broken person. It takes family and support to make it through hard times. She gets exactly what she needs from those around her, with some tough love. An amazing book that surrounds tough topics that will leave you crying and begging for more from these characters.

Please go buy this book. It will tug at every heart strong you have and keep your attention until there are no pages left to turn.

Street delivers ALL of the feels with this intensely emotional, affecting and beautiful love story, Where Forever Ends. Saylor suddenly lost her husband and is now a widow and single-mom at just twenty-eight. Although it breaks her heart all over again, she decides to sell the dream home that she and her husband built and move in with her older brother, who also offers her a job at his company. She soon reunites with her brother’s best friend, Jase, whom she’s known for years and had a youthful crush on. He recognizes that he’s attracted to Saylor but careful not to act on those feelings, knowing she’s still grieving, and he sets out to be her friend and confidant. He has his own emotional wounds, and his empathy towards her is breathtakingly sweet. He gives her the space she needs and proves himself to be a true hero, and he will be on many book-boyfriend lists this year. You’ll probably need a box of tissues close by, because you’ll definitely ugly-cry as Street skillfully and vividly brings gut-wrenching grief to the page, but you’ll finish Where Forever Ends feeling deeply satisfied and wonderfully hopeful as Jase, Saylor and her son Knox find their happily ever after.

Where Forever Ends by K Street is the first book in the Maplewood Falls series and holy wow it was so good! It is such an emotional tale that will reach all the way to your soul. As I’m writing this, tears are streaming down my face but I’m also smiling. This story is hands down my favorite from Ms. Street. It really is her best yet.

Saylor had the unimaginable happen. Losing her husband at such a young age has rocked her to her core. She is drowning in her grief, but has to keep her head above water for her son. Moving to Maplewood Falls will hopefully be the perfect choice for her. Little did she know that it would change everything…

Jase seriously made me SWOON! He was so patient and had the biggest heart. Jase has known Saylor since she was young since he was best friends with her brother. That’s all she’s ever been-his best friends younger sister. But all of that changes when she moves to Maplewood Falls. Can he help heal her broken heart all while trying to protect his own?

I loved this book so much. It takes you on an emotional journey of loss, friendships, and second chances. The writing is excellent and the characters were amazing. Highly recommend reading this story!

This is a unique tale about how love never dies and there is healing after loss. Saylor & Jase go through heartache, they both know the excruciating, breaking pain of loss. But they both have hearts so big, no loss could completely destroy their capacity for love.

This was a tough read for me. What Saylor is going through... it was hard for me to read. But it was told so beautifully... it reminded me of one of my favorite emotional reads, Take Care, Sara by Lindy Zart. The emotions are so strong - pain and love. Joy and sorrow. But the healing, the healing is beautiful.

Also - we have Knox, the cutest lil 4 year old! He steals hearts along the way as well. *grin* And we get a glimpse into Saylor's brother, Easton's, own heartache. And I'm excited and looking forward to reading his story, too!!

Overall - BEAUTIFUL well written story that I fell in love with. There were tears & there were HUGE smiles. This has earned a spot w/ other stories by this author as a top recommendation!! : )

After reading K Street's Jaxson Cove duet, I was really looking forward to more by this author. She has a way of creating characters that you care about- and I fell in love with Jase and Saylor, and Knox helped seal that deal.

Saylor has recently lost her husband due to an unforseen illness. Months later, she needs to get away from what was supposed to have been her future in Charlotte, and she and her son move to Maplewood Falls to be closer to her brother. Jase has been Easton's best friend since childhood. Saylor had a crush on him when she was younger, but the age difference was too significant when she was only sixteen. Now that she's closer, they form a bond, both having experienced losing their significant other. Jase helps Saylor accept her past, and gives her a reason to look forward to a future.

I very much loved this book. I loved the characters and their depth. I felt the emotions that Saylor experienced, and grieved along with her at times. I do wish that there had been a little more at the end, showing us where these two went, but I supposed that we will get a glimpse of that in the next Maplewood Falls book (I'm assuming it will be about Easton- and who he ends up with). K Street did a great job of setting that book up!

I look forward to more in this series, and more from K Street!

This book has all the feels in the world, I will never forget reading it.

The actual pain I felt, along with both Saylor and Jase was heart-wrenching and I suffered their grief with both of them. These characters have woven their magic over me and are now forever in my heart and mind.

Saylor and her son, Knox, are amazing; their struggle so vivid that I wanted to climb into my kindle and hug them both. Jase is the most wonderful man. He made me cry, laugh and swoon so many times. I ran out of tissues as I cried tears of sorrow and laughter; this book has everything! Love, loss, family, soul-deep grief and laughter.

It is so well written that I felt close enough to touch the characters. I really didn’t want their story to end. Ever! Well done to K Street! You have written an absolutely stunning story. I am in awe.

I really hope my review does this book justice.
It blew me away. Let's talk about Saylor and Knox. She is truly an incredible, being a single Mom is hard but when it happens because of death it makes it even harder. But somehow she makes it work. Does she break down every now and then? Hell yes she does, but when Knox is around her she has it all together. That and she has a great support system with her brother and parents.
Now we have Jase, He's her brother's best friend. And you know how the story goes. He's tall dark and handsome. He's also 6 years older. At the age of 16 that's a huge leap to 22. So look, but don't touch. Plus your brother will not be happy.....But what happens now, your both adults and the age difference doesn't matter anymore! I'll tell you what, a beautiful and heart breaking story happenes and it was amazng

Where Forever Ends was my first read by this author and what a beautiful and heartfelt introduction it was. Saylor was a incredibly strong yet broken woman trying to make it day to day after her world was tipped off its axis. Her pain was palpable and made me want to crawl through my Kindle and give her the biggest hug or just hold her through the heartache. Jase was simply perfection. I adored the way he loved with everything he had and how he was there for Saylor every step of the way. Knox absolutely stole my heart and made me smile so hard. I had so many feels while reading this book. There were moments when I could hardly see from the tears running down my face yet there was laughter, healing and so much hope. Where Forever Ends is a definite must read that had me squeezing my loved ones a little closer and tighter.

This book is so heartbreakingly beautiful.

My heart breaks for Saylor and her son Knox. They have been through something so tragic but they’re both so resilient. I love being able to see Saylor heal and love again.

Jase is so kind and sweet. I love that he loves Saylor but more importantly he loves Knox. He becomes exactly what they need when they need it.

This story for so beautifully written. K Street did such an amazing job. I’m so happy this was my first read of her work. She’s gained another fan!

I received an ARC for an honest review

This book broke my heart and shattered it to pieces and then filled my heart and soul up so much I was crying with happiness. When you you lost the love of your life. How do you go on? Saylor I felt her pain throughout this story and I wanted to just hold her and not let go. Jase is a truly amazing man that every girl in the world would hope for. Everyone has the one person they love but if we open our hearts we can give many people love. 5/5 sock stars

Saylor’s whole world got flipped upside down when her husband collapsed at work. Now she’s a single mom, and she knows that she can’t stay in the house where her and her husband planned to spend their lives anymore. She packs up her life and moves herself and her 3 year old son to Maple Falls, where her brother Easton is there to help her pick up the pieces. Enter Jase, her brother’s best friend and her childhood crush, who also understands tragedy and what it’s like to lose someone you love.

I devoured this book from start to finish and have the biggest book hangover. I couldn’t put it down and I feel like the author did an amazing job making sure I felt what Saylor was feeling. Grief, heartache, confusion, love, happiness. It’s all there, rolled into one tiny package. I immediately added more Of K. Street’s books to my kindle library. Love.

This book is EXACTLY what I have come to expect from K.
Amazing characters that you morn when the book is over. ANGST this book had my gut in knots. Giggles because a little humor in a book this deep is necessary. This book will stick with me as all of K's do. Because it is real, beautiful, heart-wrenching and perfect. I loved this book so very much. Now I need Easton's story. ;)

Where Forever Ends is an emotionally charged book that captivated me from beginning until the end.
I loved the characters dynamics and how the book goes through the stages of grief realistically without downplaying the severity of situations and feelings.
