Bad Boy Blues: An enemies to lovers bully romance (St. Mary's Rebels) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 2,992 ratings

Cleopatra Paige hates one thing in this world – just one – and his name is Zachariah Prince.

In grade school, he pulled at her pigtails. In middle school, he spread false rumors about her. And in high school, he ruined her prom.

She hates that his smirks are unfairly sexy. And she definitely loathes that his dark eyes seem to follow her everywhere. Sometimes, even in her dreams.

It doesn’t matter that he’s rich and popular or that he lives in a freaking mansion full of butlers and maids. He’s rude and arrogant, and she wants to stay as far away from him as possible.

But unfortunately for Cleo, she lives in the same freaking mansion as Zach.

Only he’s the prince and she’s the lowly maid who serves him.

NOTE: This is a STANDALONE set in the world of St. Mary's.
TROPES: Bully Romance, enemies to lovers romance, alpha hero, anti-hero, curvy heroine, banter, forbidden romance, grumpy sunshine romance, forced proximity, morally grey hero

I freaking loved this book! Wasn't sure what to expect, but it was so much better than I anticipated. The FMC was fantastic - courageous, cheeky, confident, intuitive and kind. All the things that make one helluva character. She does the saving in this book and... Well I love Zach too. He is so redeemable. Read this book - you won't regret it!

A great novel filled with a whirlwind of emotions, drama, love and heartache.  Plagued with grief, Cleo gave up on her dreams; she now only has one goal: to get back her house. Working as a maid for the wealthy, Cleo is trying to save money.  Cleo is a great FMC; she is resilient and a spitfire; sometimes, her temper gets the best of her. And there's one person who knows how to push her buttons: Zach.

As the storyline unravels, you'll see why Zach is the way he is. Growing up privileged has its benefits, but not when it's an abusive household. Zach became a bully because he grew up with one. It's forbidden to have an intimate relationship with one of the residents; the consequence is severe: getting fired. Cleo needs this job to pay the bills, however, it's difficult when Zach is around. Cleo cannot stay away from him; she has always been so curious about him. I loved seeing Cleo and Zach's relationship evolve from hate to love. After all, there's a very fine between love and hate.

I didn’t think I’ll end up liking this book but I did. You know the saying, looks can be deceiving well that’s what I thought about this book, cause of the cover it wasn’t calling to me but somehow the blurb did.

I devoured this book within a day and bullying reads seems to be my norm lately but this one by far annoyed the heck out of me. Zach is definitely the @$$??? you love to hate and Cleo/Blue is the girl you just love to not hate. I think what drew me in more was Zach, he’s not what I would have expected and I don’t think he was ever going to not be an a$$????, but in the end, he definitely made me want to wrap him up and give him a hug. Zach is so flawed that you cannot even put this book down. I couldn’t remember how many times I eye rolled, and I cried me some real tears, 🤦🏽‍♀️ but when you know a book is going to be good, is when you can’t give it up.

Three things you take away from this book...
There is always a bigger Bully
The Bully is also a victim
Somebody will see past the ugliness and love the Bully regardless

I fell in love with Cleo and Zach! I liked that Cleo was such a strong heroine, she didn’t let much get her down or in her way! Zach wasn’t your typical hero, his life was very much the opposite to what he showed to the world. You could feel Zach and Cleo’s connection through the pages!

This is the first Saffron A. Kent book I've read and I really liked it.
There was a good amount of drama that kept you on your toes.
Cleo or blue is a spitfire you never know what she's gonna do next. She's lived her own hell and come thru the other end.
Zack is a bad boy alpha, he doesn't know what it's like to be loved and pushes people away. But you really feel for him

Saffron did a great job writing this book the emotions leapt from the pages..

This author never fails to evoke so many emotions in me when I am reading one of her books. In my opinion, Saffron E Kent's writing is quite frankly perfection, this book is no exception, I'm in love with this author's writing and the way she conveys her characters to the reader.

Zach and Cleo are two young people with so much baggage your heart immediately goes out to them both but in different ways. Although the way the author has written Zach's character your common sense tells you not to like him; he's a bully, he humiliates Cleo every chance he gets but you know when you read their story that your heart out rules your head and deep down this boy is hurting and in pain but just very good at hiding it. My heart bleeds for Zach.

Cleo is a fighter and gives as good as she gets and I was the audience cheering her on. I loved Cleo because she had a heart of gold and wasn't afraid to show her emotions to those around her especially Zach. This girl had a plan she couldn't deviate from because of what it meant to her and for that, I admired her immensely. Their connection was electric, passionate and fiery and not always for the good.

This book was packed to the brim with feelings: humiliation, hate, love, revenge sadness and erotic sexual tension, all of which Saffron Kent excels at and I have to say she weaves a very important message in this book, a message that many people of all ages and abilities can be affected by, broken by, their lives devastated by and she has done it so very well. Another hit from this author and one I can't recommend enough !!

This was written well and the same goes for the pace. I have a love / hate relationship with this author's heroines and I'm happy to say I really liked Cleo. And Zach, we can't forget about him.

This story touched me on so many levels and I’m probably biased in saying this but I felts so much, the struggle, the pain, the loneliness the sense of being inadequate, not being good enough. Ms Kent did an amazing job in describing all these emotions and Zach and Cleo will for ever have a special spot in my heart. So yes maybe I’m not impartial in this review but I won’t be fair and honest if I don’t tell everyone how my eyes teared up, how my heart was bursting and how I hope that whoever is going through such pain can find solace and hope in this book, especially since this story is from someone who was bullied and came out stronger.
To all the bullied out there never let anyone make you think you’re not worth it, never let the cowards have the upper hand.
And to those with dyslexia or any other learning difficulties never let anyone ever tell you “you can’t do it”.

Holy Blues!! I’m so so in love with this story.
Bad Boy Blues is beautifully written, so addictive, captivating and heart wrenching and so so sexy.

This is my first book from Saffron Kent and I’ve had her on my back list for some time and I’m so happy I read this book. I’m completely blown away by these characters Zach and Cleopatra and their story.
I love the depth of this story, and as much as I wanted Zach to be that bad boy he was so much a broken prince. Cleo is a true heroine and yes she’s has a crazy streak but she is so incredibly strong and her character and Zach’s come to life.
The flow of the story is perfect as is the plot. I’ll admit I wasn’t convinced at the very start and thought just another from the wrong side of the tracks romance- but this story is so much more- it brought out so many emotions; it made my heart ache and lips might have wobbled a little... but wait for it, the chemistry between these two characters is sure to set your kindle on fire.

I’m diving straight into my next Saffron Kent book now!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I cannot get enough of Saffron A. Kent's words

Another 5 Star read from Saffron A. Kent. I am learning that with this author you're always going to get so much more than what may be expected. I swear her stories are so much more than tropes. They are so emotional and always touch on deeper subjects/topics.

Bad Boy Blues is not your typical bully/enemies to lovers romance. This was a story about anger and pain; a of keeping up appearances and hidden truths; a story of belonging or being outcasted; a story that perfectly shows that all that glitters isn't gold. Money isn't always everything.

Zachariah Prince and Cleopatra Paige were no strangers to each other. Zach has tormented Cleo since childhood and throughout elementary, junior, and high school. Zach did whatever was in his power (and he had a lot of power) to make Cleo miserable. He and his friends succeeded in doing just that; however, Cleo was no pushover. She was not afraid of being different and she stood up for herself. Cleo survived those awful years.

Cleo had plans after graduation but an unfortunate tragedy kept her in town and employed for non other than the Prince family. Just as she did before, Cleo handled herself. She needed the job at the Prince estate in order to get her own home back. the one good thing about her situation was that Zachariah had skipped town after graduation and had not been seen since. Cleo didn't have to deal with him, or at least she didn't until the Prince himself for some unknown reason came back home.
Again, there is so much more to this story that what I've even written. The angst between Cleo and Zach was intense. She hated him so much, but she couldn't deny her attraction to him and Zach couldn't understand his attraction to her. Just like many of the other characters that Saffron A. Kent has written, Zach and Cleo had a connection that went beyond attraction. Cleo was vocal, expressive and bold. Zach was another first class angry brood who took it all out on Cleo, but my God the sexual tension and chemistry between the two of them was hot and electrifying.

You know what I love about Saffron A. Kent? She is so talented with her words that she sort of tricks you into believing that the heroine in her stories are the flawed and broken ones; that they are the ones who believe themselves to have deep rooted issues and cause destruction, but the reality is that her female characters are strong AF. As you read her books you realize that while the female main characters may be flawed, it is the heroes in her stories that are the broken ones. They are the ones who have experienced trauma, abuse, and tragedy. I love this so much because her stories are to necessarily about the hero saving the heroine and vice versa. They are not about one person trying to fix the other, but about the hero and heroine seeing the best in each other through those broken pieces, navigating obstacles and eventually saving one another.

I truly cannot get enough of her words.

    Spanish & English Opinion

    ESP ::

    Me encantan.

    ENG ::

This was my first bully romance ever. Also, my first Saffron A Kent book and since that moment, I became a fan.
Cleo & Zach were the first couple with an amazing angsty romance and off the charts chemistry that I loved.

It was the complicated background and all the deep personality each of them had that made this book so complex and special. Also, I love how unique and different are their names. It sets them apart from everything else.

I love the way the author describes the deep feelings each person in the book experiments. Zach was a complex and amazing guy who didn’t know how to love and Cleo was the perfect girl to show him.

    Amazing book.
