It's Not Over (Fair Lakes Book 1) Kindle Edition
Lately, life definitely isn't how I envisioned it. I had it all. The house, the job, the husband. Until one day, I didn't. I don't know when exactly things started to change between us, only that it did, and in a big way. So much so, I found myself standing before a judge and signing off on the end of my marriage. To the only man I've ever loved.
Now, he's back, fighting, and ready to prove to me that we made a mistake, that our love is worth giving this another chance. I'm not sure if he's right, but I know what my heart wants, and it wants him. My ex-husband.
Harrison
Why is it that you don't know the depths of your mistakes until you've already made them? I knew signing those papers was a bad idea, but I thought that's what she wanted. The minute we stepped foot out of that courtroom, it hit me. She's no longer mine.
That's when I also realized that I would do anything to change the past. I have so many regrets. Not her. I could never regret her, but how we ended. We never should have ended. I'm in for the battle of my life to convince her to give us another shot. I have a plan, one that will prove to her that it's not over.

- Reviewed in Australia on 21 September 2024What a great collaboration between two of my favourite authors!
This story is unique, heartwarming and a bit spicy.
It starts with a divorce ... and ends with a wedding.
Harrison and Winnie have stopped making each other a priority. It kinda crept up on them, and suddenly, there seems no other remedy but divorce.
Harrison has been chasing expansion to his gym and personal training empire. It was meant to be the comfortable buffer that provided a good life for him and Winnie. Instead, Harrison goes home to an empty apartment and wonders how he can fix things.
He loves Winnie with a passion. Love, it seems, was never the problem with these two.
On D Day, when the judge at the court hearing pronounces them divorced, it's a terrible moment.
Harrison follows Winnie home to collect some last things and they fall into each other's arms.
Weeks later, Winnie finds she's pregnant. The Way Harrison finds out is pretty dramatic.
And it's the spur he needs to get them both back on track.

- Reviewed in Australia on 10 August 2019Verified PurchaseVery cute second chance story but minimal drama and no angst. I adore Harrison’s love and devotion and I cannot wait for the next book
- Reviewed in Australia on 2 August 2019Verified PurchaseFantastic 2nd chance love story. Highly recommend
- Reviewed in Australia on 22 August 2019Verified PurchaseAngsty heart moving story
- Reviewed in Australia on 23 July 2019I quite enjoyed this book. It’s different from your usual second chance love story, and that’s refreshing.
Harrison’s love for Winnie comes through strongly. There’s no question of how he feels.
Winnie too is strong in her convictions.
I like the pregnancy aspect of this book as well.
I have to admit, at first Chase kind of annoyed me, but he quickly grew on me. Gabby too, is great.
I also liked the touch of drama, but I was expecting it to be just a little bit more. It wasn’t anything major though.
This is a solid book, grab it if you have time!
- Reviewed in Australia on 23 July 2019What a fantastic 2nd chance love story; Ryan & Black are new to me authors and I can say that I could not put this book down; devoured it in 1 sitting.
Harrison and Winnie had lost their way, they both gave up and signed away their forever. Harrison made a vow that he wasn’t done, he should have fought for them. When Winnie is involved in an accident Harrison has the opportunity to be there for her and start fighting for what they both want. Winnie can see the change; he is trying so hard to make sure she is number one.
Can they overcome their issues and say I do again, finding their happily ever after?
I loved Harrison and Winnie; these characters are very relatable. No marriage is easy and sometimes you do believe that walking away is the best option; these two proved that if you fight for what you want sometimes everything works out for the best.
Chase and Gabby are fantastic minor characters and I really hope that they get their own book because these two have some serious chemistry and a story that needs to be told.
This duo has nailed this book, their words are seamless and flows perfectly you would never know that there are 2 authors.
I personally loved this 2nd chance romance and I really hope that we get more from these two in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved the hero...what a guy...
Verified PurchaseIT'S NOT OVER is a standalone read with a happy ending. There are sexy scenes if that is an issue for you. First, something I don't normally do, I totally DISAGREE with the low star reviews. Sometimes I think reviewers just want to be disagreeable and it really has nothing to do with the story. however, to each his own. I know this review won't get read because it is so far down the line but at least the author will know my thoughts. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this story. The hero was beyond wonderful, human, like a lot of other men but when he realized what was important, he changed his way of dealing with life. I loved how he told off the flirting women. Most guys would be "polite" and not really say anything but he told them in no uncertain terms to back off. I loved that part of his character.
Gwen/Winnie has signed the papers finalizing her divorce. It is not what she wants, she still loves her husband but it seems everything has priority over her. Missed appointments, not being home when he says he will, etc. Life can be difficult but one has to make a choice. Harrison signs his name because it is what Winnie wants not what he wants. He drives her home and they are both sad that their marriage has come to this. They still love each other, that isn't the problem. Things get a little heated and they wind up having sex for one last time. That is the time that will change their lives forever.
This is a great story. I loved the devotion of the hero. He screwed up, he acknowledged it and he set about to do things differently. He wooed his wife in an effort to get her back. Lots of drama in the story and in this case, no bad guy but a bad girl. Glad to see how that was handled.
This was a very entertaining and enjoyable read. I even LOVED the cover. Great choice. I definitely recommend this book.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 1/22/2022.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very unique story!
Verified PurchaseI thoroughly enjoyed this book, a very unique story written in collaboration between to authors that was flawless. I was seriously trying to guess who wrote what parts, to no avail lol. Winnie and Harrisons story starts off in divorce. Things happened and choices were made that they thought were right, only to find out were oh so wrong and landed them in the situation they are in now. Divorced and miserable! Now with some serious effort and some new decisions being made (hopefully the right ones) they might just be able to fix the divorce that never should have happened. I 100% hope these to collaborate again and give us Gabby and Chase's story, you know there's something going on there!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely incredible
Verified PurchaseThis book deserves all the stars and then a few more. I absolutely devoured it. I couldn't get enough of these characters and their story. I was so disappointed when it ended. The storyline itself was incredible and so captivating I wanted to move to Fair Lakes with them. Absolutely incredible story.

4.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 ⭐️
Verified PurchaseWhat happens when you don’t prioritize your marriage? Well, that’s exactly what Harrison and Gwen “Winnie” learn when they’re signing their divorce papers. Though they still love each other they don’t know how to get back what they once hand. Emotions running high they end up sleeping together one last time and that’s where our story begins. Harrison is perfect almost too perfect at times and Winnie is just along for the ride. Low on angst high on sweet moments.
