This was my first book from this writer and it will be the last as I didn't like her writing. It felt really amateurish and extremely boring. It doesn't make you feel. I felt disconnected with both characters and found them hard to like. The story in itself is too boring and cliché but sometimes even cliché topics lead to a great book but this book was not one of them. Because of its dry writing, the emotions do not pass to the reader. The story in itself feels disjointed.
The hero, Devin sees Erin on a bad night when she caught her husband cheating on her. Devin was Erin's sister's boyfriend years ago but they didn't last and she married another man. Devin remembers Erin as the little sister of his girlfriend years ago but now she is a grown up woman, of course. He helps her out that day but in the end, they do not even exchange phone numbers.
6 months pass and they meet again by accident and when Erin's friend encourages him, Devin asks Erin out. So very dull and unemotional!
Erin is an annoying character. As her husband cheated on her, she doesn't trust any other guy and she doesn't want a relationship. She even sometimes blames herself saying she was bad at a serious relationship. The bastard cheated on you and he is the one who sucked at relationships, not you!!!!
Well, whatever. She only accepts friends with benefits option with Devin and he agrees. And when she starts to feel something she leaves him. As I said, all cliché. Then she regrets, bla bla.
The book is full of inner monologues rather than dialogues. As this is the first book of the series, lots of other characters are introduced and most probably spme of those people will be the heroes/heroines in the following books. Because of so many people and their boring contribution to the book, my reading experience got unbearable after a certain point and I found myself skipping a lot to see the end...
So, all in all, this book wasn't even "meh" for me.

I loved Devin. He was patient, caring and happy. Erin was vulnerable and not ready for more, but she was sweet and determined. Though neither wanted anything serious, together they were good. But no journey is ever easy. Breathless With Her by Carrie Ann Ryan was emotional and charming. I am excited to see what is next in the series!

Lovely romance.
When Erin finds her husband having an affair with another woman – a cheerleader, she is determined that she would be fine after moving away from him. That is when she sees Devin Carr. Their romance was caring and emotional and each one opens up to the other. The pace of the story moves steadily and though it was rushed in some places, still enjoyed the story. Enjoyable read.

This story starts off with Erin walking in finding her husband having sex with the former head cheerleader at their high school reunion (not a spoiler since the blurb fills you in on that little fact) which was a true eye opener for her because she didn't see it coming at all, no Erin wasn't completely happy but she never pictured her husband cheating on her. So let me ask you, What would you do in this situation? Well, I think most of you would do what she did, Erin left and went to a bar to get drunk.
Devin Carr in my eyes is a big teddy bear and I loved him! Devin knew right away who Erin was when she sat next to him in the bar because she had attended school with his younger sister and they had been friends. So being the chivalrous person that he is he took her home so she didn't do anything stupid. HA! but no seriously, he was a true gentlemen and I think it melted my heart and had me swooning for him.
Devin and Erin had great chemistry so why not try the friends with benefits route, they were both attracted to one another and neither of them wanted anything serious so it was perfect, right...lol You know as well as I do things like that usually don't work out but holy hell with their chemistry there was no other way for things to go.
This was a good start to the series, I did feel the story rushed a bit in parts but overall it was an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it to fans of Carrie Ann Ryan, lovers of Contemporary Romance, and those that enjoy the Friends-to-Lovers trope.

This was a good read. Devin Carr liked his life and his family. When he meets Erin Taborn he knows what is missing. Erin thought she had a good life she is married to her high school sweetheart but when she catches him having sex with the former high school cheerleader at their high school reunion her world comes crashing down. I liked this book and both of these characters although I did think that this book was a little long at times. Erin is fun shy about starting a relationship after being her by her jerk of an ex. Devin he knows what he wants and it's Erin. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.

Super fun cast sets the stage for a whole new set of siblings that I can't wait to read more from!! Devin and Erin didn't seem meant to be until they crashed and fell, then all the skeletons kept pulling them apart. Super hot, smidge of angst to keep it interesting, and as always peeks of some of our previous faves that tied everything in a nice package. I can't wait for more from these siblings!

Even smart independent women have to fight feeling “less than”
Erin goes from her only boyfriend, lover, husband to a man that takes her breath away. It’s just a rebound, she will not get serious with another man, right. Devin has never had the urge to get serious with any woman, but Erin has him tied in knots and breathless.
It’s definitely not ideal that they connect on the night she catches her husband cheating. But she couldn’t have found a more caring even nurturing man to help her that night. Their baggage though really colors the emotions they allow themselves to feel as they become “friends with benefits”. The “benefits” are scorching and they truly have a close friendship, until it changes.
Yep, Erin and Devin sucked me right into their lives. The story flows so naturally. Their feelings projected effortlessly for our consumption. But their sadness was never depressing, which I appreciate. As heartbreaking as this tale can be it was also joyful and fun and a delightful read.

Erin is a wedding cake maker and slowly growing into a more independent women with opening her own business.
Erin and Nicholas Erin’s husband go to there high school reunion and while there Erin life falls apart. That when she meets Devin Carr at a bar.
Devin is Dimitri Carr brother from previous Montgomery book and Devin is a sexy tattooed postal worker who has everything in life a job he loved a house and a close busy family but no love of his life.
I really enjoyed this book especially with main female character having a lot of baggage and Devin having Baggage but dealed with it in a healthy way and at some point helps Erin how to too.
This book was made into a audiobook and had different narrators then the one used in previous books, this is first time I’ve heard Samantha Cook and Jacob Morgan narrate but as usual Carrie Ann Ryan really picks awesome with narrators.
Looking forward to more in series especially the rest of the Carr family but also Devin bff.

Erin and Nicholas Erin’s husband go to there high school reunion and while there Erin life falls apart. That when she meets Devin Carr at a bar.
Devin is Dimitri Carr brother from previous Montgomery book and Devin is a sexy tattooed postal worker who has everything in life a job he loved a house and a close busy family but no love of his life.
I really enjoyed this book especially with main female character having a lot of baggage and Devin having Baggage but dealed with it in a healthy way and at some point helps Erin how to too.

This is the first book in the Less than series it’s Devin and Erin’s story. If you’ve read the Colorado Springs series you’ll be familiar with Dimitri who’s Devin’s brother and a couple other characters but you don’t have too this is a standalone that introduces us to the Carr family. Devin is a mailman who loves his job and Erin is a cake decorator and owns her own business and loves it.
Erin works long hours to make sure her business will succeed because she’s determined to not depend on anyone for anything but that also isn’t much of a life she works and stays home. Her family and friends want her to enjoy herself and can see that maybe Devin could be the answer yet that is definitely out of the question friends yes anything else that’s a different story.
I really enjoyed the story it was complete and has HEA, I love this author and all of her books are amazing and draw you in and you can’t stop reading you want to see it unfold!

It all began in a bar in a red sequined dress and tequila shots. What could possible happen! Erin has been hurt and wants to not get serious with Devin. It’s all about remaining friends with benefits. Devin and Erin are such relatable characters. I enjoyed knowing what was going on in their heads while reading this story. I was so enthralled and captivated by the story that I wanted to be the friend that hits them both upside their heads. Lol. It was nice to meet the whole Carr family. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.

This one was sweet. I liked that when Erin's life fell apart Devin was there to help. Sure as an acquaintance, but quickly it was more. I knew that at some point Erin would get scared and push Devin away, yet still hated when it happened. I liked that Erin knew what she was doing even if she wasn't able to stop herself or figure out how to make things better in the aftermath. When finally both Devin and Erin had clear heads and were able to talk it made things so much better, as they both realized they were missing the other and the pain was worth it all.

Wow what a sweet and spicy story about a woman who is lucky enough to have a second chance at love. Erin has hard dose of reality shoved in her face while at her high school reunion. After living what she lived through she decides to make a huge change in her life. Enter Devin a friend from the past who helps Erin see there is more to life. What starts off as a friend's with benefits arrangement turns into so much more. Erin being scared must overcome her fears to have the life she deserves with Devin. Having someone who supports you is a hard thing for her to handle since supporting her was not high on her ex husband's list.

I wanted to like this book, I really, really did but honestly, it just did not do it for me.
Erin finds her husband having sex with a cheerleader she graduated with at her high school reunion. Her husband and her have been together forever and it just about destroys her. Because of the betrayal she throws herself into her work and writes off all men and relationships. This whole scene and what follows set the tone of the book for me, which was very dry. It felt disjointed and I was not really liking Erin too much from the jump on this story and it really set the tone for the rest of the book.
Devin....an old, old ex of Erin's sister, helps her the night of the fateful reunion.....naturally there is an attraction or crush like behavior on both their parts when they reunite a few weeks later. You can guess how the rest of this story goes....Erin is hard headed and can only offer a "friends with benefits" type relationship to Devin...whereas Devin wants more but will settle for anything he can get with her at this point and can only hope her feelings change. There were too many characters involved...I know thats a weird thing to say but in alot of books that have a lot of characters the storyline truly does flow cohesively....this one it just didnt. They almost felt like filler space for the story. I didnt feel a love connection at all between Devin and Erin and there was no passion or electricity at all. There is also a storyline thrown in about Erin's parents that just did not make sense, there were tidbits and pieces of her childhood and an even weirder storyline with her Dad that left me scratching my head. I found myself skimming alot of the pages just to see what happens out of curiousity vs. being invested in the characters and wanting to see a HEA....definately not my cup of tea :-(

Carrie Ann Ryan has done it again.... she has given us a new spin-off series that is just as wonderful and emotional and everything that you would expect from this author. There are sad times, happy times, and funny times with Devin and Erin and their families. While these two figure out what they want and if they can move forward together, you will experience all of the emotions from the laughs to the tears. I can't wait for the rest of the Carr family.

This is book 1 in the Less Than series, and let me tell you-bring some tissues. This is a spin-off from the Montgomery Ink series as this is Dmitri's (from the Colorado Springs series) family. In this first one we get Devin Carr and Erin Taborn's story. Erin goes to her high school reunion with her high school sweetheart (who is also her husband) and finds him having sex with the head cheerleader later in the night. And her entire life crashes around her afterwards. And now she has to figure out what her new normal is while she keeps telling herself she will be fine. Even when she doesn't feel like she will be or that she can truly depend on other people. Devin helps Erin when she is down. And now that she is divorced, he not only wants to be her friend but he wants to see if the chemistry he feels towards he can become something more. And convince her that they can be more than just friend's with benefits.
I absolutely loved this one! If you have ever been cheated on, then you know how devastating it can be. It eats away at you and makes you wonder what is wrong with yourself or what you did wrong-even knowing it isn't anything to do with you or anything that you did. And this author wrote this in a way that not only conveys how badly it affects you but the confidence issues that are left in the wake along with the hurt and pain. Erin is this beautiful woman who trusted someone she had known since childhood and was hurt in the most emotional way possible. But she still manages to get up and do what needs doing and is just trying to move on with her life. Devin is this great man who not only stands behind his family when they need it but he will stand with his friends and just be a generally stand up person. And they have this beautiful, heart felt connection that I absolutely loved! Yes, there is a lot of chemistry between them. But what I loved even more than that was the fact that they figured out that not only could they be there as friends for each other but that they could be more and truly trust each other. I loved it!! It was perfectly written and I couldn't put it down!

Breathless With Her by Carrie Ann Ryan is book One in the Less Than Series. This is the story of Erin Taborn and Devin Carr. Erin is at a High School Reunion with her husband/high school sweetheart. But when she can't find him she goes looking until happens upon him and a former cheerleader having sex. Of course this broke them up and now Erin is swearing off men but Devin was there to help her with her messed up pieces. But the more he is around her the more he wants from her then to be her friend with benefits. Enjoyed their story and can't wait for more in this series.
