How to Choose a Guy in 10 Days (Chick Flick Club Book 1) Kindle Edition

3.7 out of 5 stars 7,148 ratings

The only thing more hilarious than the movies is… real life?! Fall in love with the sizzling grumpy-sunshine romantic comedy, perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella and Ali Hazelwood!

Stylist Gemma Jones is competing for a once-in-a-lifetime promotion. All she has to do is take some fashion-backward guy from geek to GQ-worthy. The only problem? The man in question is her hairy manwhore of a next-door neighbor.

AKA Bigfoot.

Zach Morrison has zero interest in being Gemma’s makeover mannequin. Sure, it’s fun getting his smart-mouthed neighbor all riled up, but after cashing out of his tech start-up and going through an ugly break-up, he’s taking a permanent vacation. If he wants to wear sweatpants and sleep on a mattress in the corner of an empty apartment— OK. Maybe he needs a little push in the right direction.

But as Gemma races the clock to win her bet, she finds that Bigfoot’s been hiding a few things under his baggy flannel shirts. Like abs of steel, and a surprisingly big...

Heart. He has a big heart.

Soon, sparks are flying between this unlikely couple, but can Zach embrace a fresh start - however manscaped it might be? And will Gemma beat out her Instabitch rival for the top spot - and keep the truth about their bet from Zach?

Find out in the hot and hilarious new romance from “the reigning queen of rom-com”, USA Today bestselling author Lila Monroe.

I normally love books by this author but I struggled a bit with this one. It wasn't bad, I just couldn't warm to the characters sadly. Gemma's a stylist who takes on a bet with a rival stylist for a promotion within the company she works at. They find the most challenging of men for their projects and Gemma's just happens to be her scruffy, unemployed neighbour. They don't get along. She thinks he sits playing video games all day and has a string of women through his apartment. He thinks she's snobby and uptight. Until forced together for his make over.
Then they finally get to see the truth about one another. An enjoyable enough read, but I just struggled at times to get into the book. No reflection on the author, it just wasn't quite for me.

I enjoyed this though at the beginning I did wonder as it seemed to centre on discussions on sex dry spells and I wanted something deeper. But then it picked up and the characters were funny and likeable. There was a lot of heart in the relationship with both reflecting on things about each other and themselves . For me it got more and more likeable and enjoyable.

I smiled and laughter from start to finish. The banter between Gamma and Zach is great, it's the perfect low stake rom com.

How to Choose a Guy in 10 Days by Lila Monroe is the first book in her brand new series, Chick Flick Club . A Series of romantic comedies surrounding a close group of friends who spend some quality time watching, you guessed it, chick flicks. Told in dual POV, this is the story of Gemma and Bigfoot, also known as Zach, her jerk neighbor.

Gemma is a stylist who has been offered a promotion. One caveat, it's a competition between her and her catty co-worker. Her job is to improve the Bigfoot lumberjack of a next door neighbor in the next ten days. Her promotion depends upon it. If only he would stop slamming the door in her face...

Zach has been living like a college frat boy for a while now and he's fine with it. Why his neighbor won't leave him alone is another problem. But it turns out he isn't as annoyed by her as he thought. Besides it's about time he found out who he really is when he isn't hiding behind his frat boy behavior and actually starts adulting for once.

Funny, sweet, romantic and sexy this is yet another smash hit from one of my favorite authors. The secondary characters are wonderful and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series, You've Got Male. Enjoy!

Loved it!! First time reading this author and definitely will read more, this was so cute with a bit of spice and Zach is everything! I do wish there had been an epilogue though and maybe a bit more description on appearances just to really add to the imagination! But definitely a good book, got me out of my slump!

I needed a fluffy read but this was really average and needs lots of careful editing if I'm completely honest.

I knew going into this that it would be a fun book. Couple the name with the author and it was bound to be. I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed this one and sped through it quit quickly.

Gemma and Zach are both likeable characters, and I really liked getting into the depth of each of their personalities, particularly Zach's. Its the kind of book that goes to show (in some ways) not to judge a book/person by its cover, as the saying goes.

The who idea of the storyline is great in this one, and all the secondary characters were lots of fun as well.

I don't want to go into things too much, because I don't want to spoil anything, but I did love this one, and I do recommend.

Me ha gustado, aunque es básicamente la historia ya conocida, solo que actualizada de la versión de los años 90.

I honestly cringed so much at the beginning of this book. I couldn't believe the things I was reading.

Slowly but surely, I was reeled in. I wanted to know. I needed to know. Eventually, I was smiling and near crying while reading.

This says a lot for me, as I'm not a romance typa girl, but I did truly enjoy this book!
