Just One Night: A Small Town Single Dad Romance (Blue Beech Book 2) Kindle Edition
“What the f*ck have I done?” aren’t the first words you want to hear after a one-night stand.
Yet that’s what he gave me.
Dallas Barnes is tall, dark, and handsome.
He’s also scarred, rough, and broken down by burdens.
A single dad. A widower. A lost soul.
We found each other in the back of a dark pub.
He brought the whiskey. I brought the bad decisions.
He called it a mistake. I vowed never to speak to him again.
That vow is broken with one test.
Two pink lines have turned my life upside down.
One night can change everything.

Samantha Cook is a bookaholic obsessed with novels about strong, sexy, smart women. Audiobook narrating was as natural a choice as breathing. When not recording in her LA studio, she can be found wandering the museums of Paris, imagining herself as a Degas dancer, Chateaubriand's Atala, Canova's Psyche, David's Josephine, or Venus (preferably with arms intact).
Aaron Shedlock is a voice talent and audiobook narrator.
Charity Ferrell resides in Indianapolis, Indiana. She grew up riding her bicycle to her small town's library and reading anything she could get her hands on. Angst is her happy place, and she loves writing about flawed people finding love. She loves the basics: books, shoes, and online shopping.

Just One Night is a fantastic second chance romance by Charity Ferrell. I fell in love with Ms. Ferrell’s writing when I read ‘Make Me Yours’ (now renamed ‘Just Her Bodyguard’), so when I saw this book I knew I just had to read it. I am happy to say that it was everything I expected from this talented author- although she is going to be hard pressed to get me to love any characters more than I do Stella and Hudson (Make Me Yours)… but Willow and Dallas come pretty close.
We met Dallas and Willow in ‘Make Me Yours’, as Dallas is Hudson’s older brother, and Willow is Stella’s friend and P.A.
Willow had been in a very toxic relationship which ended rather badly. She’s definitely a little jaded from the experience- and I think it’s soured her opinion of men, as well as given her a few trust issues.
Dallas has been left a single parent after his wife died. He’s still processing and grieving. He’d only ever loved one woman, and now she’s gone. He’s shattered and not ready/able to let go of the past and move on.
A night of drowning their sorrows at a local pub, leads to a spontaneous decision- and a steamy one-night-stand later- the regrets aren’t the only thing that will come from their passionate fling.
Will they both be what the other needs to leave the pain of their past behind, to find happiness and embrace a brighter future? Or will regrets win out in the end?
This is a beautiful and emotional story that was really well written. It had me totally engrossed right from the start. I found it a sexy, slow-burning and entirely relatable!
The characters are all so well developed and endearing. I found it easy to connect with them and their story. I was cheering them on from the sidelines the whole way through.
The story has a great pace and a smooth flow. It was so easy read, I got through it all in one sitting.
I am excited to see what comes next!
Thank you, Ms. Ferrell!
- Reviewed in Australia on 26 July 2018Just one Night is the 2nd book in the Blue Beech Series, I was so excited to read this one, the blurb had me hook, line and sinker and it did not disappoint, filled with heartbreak, secrets and love Charity takes you for a roller coaster ride.
“What the F have I done?”
First thing you hear after an amazing night with a guy, is not hearing that he is regretting everything about it, 2nd thing you don’t want to hear is, you’re pregnant. Willow has a busy life being PA and best friend of a Hollywood star, she has left a long term toxic relationship and wanted to move on with her life. Dallas is broken, he has lost his wife, the love of his life and the mother of his daughter. Feeling like he has betrayed his wife he doesn’t treat Willow very well, having her running for the hills with his baby on board.
It is clear that Willow and Dallas have chemistry, they are trying to fight through their own grief when they surface they connect on a whole different level.
Charity did not disappoint with this book, I fell in love with her writing while reading book 1, Just her Bodyguard. There were some very sad aspects of this book but I felt that Charity addressed them perfectly leaving me feeling that although tragedies happen life can move on and there will be happiness in the future if you open yourself up to them.
I highly recommend this book I could not put it down, I would suggest that you read Just her Bodyguard so you can find out more details of their lives. I cannot wait for Book 3 to come out Just Exs and I can only imagine this is will be as good.

I was so intrigued by Willow and Dallas's story. I absolutely loved the first book in this series and could not wait to read more by this author. This author's words have a way of captivating me. This book was emotional, Like really emotional, which is to be expected given what the story is about. So I admit I cried, a few times.
Willow and Dallas's relationship was a rocky experience, but the best things are always worth fighting for. I think that the author has done such a great job of writing this type of story about heart-aching loss and healing. Both characters needed to be healed and that just made the story a beautiful read.
I am so addicted to this series, I can't wait to get in to the next one! I am so ready.
- Reviewed in Australia on 16 August 2022Verified PurchaseIt took me back to wattpad days, It was almost a DNF for me but I pushed through to the end, I'm happy I finished it but unfortunately it didn't live up to reviews I read before purchasing. Very rushed writing, chapters seemed to drag on a bit...I hate being a negative Nancy but it's what reviews are there for

5.0 out of 5 stars extremely good!!
Verified PurchaseThis book was so much better than I was expecting!! There will be SPOILERS!!!
I haven’t read the first one yet. I definitely will now though. You didn’t need to read it to enjoy this one.
Both characters were likable. Dallas was frustrating throughout this book, but he was a good guy. He never wanted to hurt Willow, but he definitely needed to work through his grief.
I loved Willow. There were some reviewers who called her immature but I didn’t think so at all. I didn’t blame her at all for “running” at first. I would have ran too. -And every time she tried to pull away from Dallas, it was because he DEFINITELY deserved it. I absolutely loved that she refused to compete with his late wife’s memory.
Many of the negative reviews stated that Dallas was only with Willow because of the baby. I don’t believe that at all. He had a deep connection with her (from the night of their one night stand). I truly believe they would have eventually ended up together once Dallas worked out his issues. The pregnancy just pushed up that timeline.
I truly loved them together and I loved Willow’s relationship with his daughter. Like I said, I wanted to smack Dallas in the head a few times, but the build up of their relationship was very well done. I definitely felt them falling in love. SPOILERS……
After their relationship was becoming serious and they were truly falling for each other- Willow is called to take care of his sick daughter at his house (which she has been avoiding because of the memories of his late wife and him rejecting her so brutally after their one night stand). Anyway.. the house is set up like a shrine to his wife and as if she is still living there. Not just pictures by his bed, but her things were still on the counters, her toothbrush still in the bathroom, her perfume on her dresser, her clothes laid out etc. It was gut wrenching and I just wanted to cry for Willow. Then a devastating loss happens. No one was at fault but I kind of hated the way Dallas handled it. The conclusion to that was extremely satisfying though and I loved the ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just one night
Verified PurchaseJust one night’ is a stand-alone story from Charity Ferrell, it is part of the Blue Beech series.
It has a dual POV, it is Dallas and Willow’s story. I feel like I have been on an emotional rollercoaster. It also includes topics that some people may find distressing therefore it’s best to read the trigger warnings. I felt all the emotions these characters were feeling and found it difficult to put down as it was such an amazing book.
The book includes some steamy scenes. Dallas and Willow share a passionate one night stand, Willow flees the next morning as she instantly regrets and feels ashamed. She never wants to return to the small town again but has to three months later for her best friend’s engagement party. Her secret pregnancy also reveals itself. Will Willow accept Dallas to be part of her life?
Dallas has gone through a lot with losing his wife, I enjoyed reading how Willow tried to make him feel again. I also loved the other characters and can’t wait to read their stories.

I love this trope where the H is grieving and suddenly, there’s a surprise baby coming.
I liked Dallas. He was genuinely a nice guy and I liked how honest and real he was with Willow.
Maven was a nice kid and the epilogue was very nice. The town seems cool and I love the concept of everyone in other people’s business 🫶🏼
