Love is blind …. I only wish it was. Because then I wouldn’t see what I can never have.
They say when you know, you know. What a load of nonsense. Because the only thing I know is …. he’s off limits. Workplace relationships are inappropriate and seedy.
Every morning I step onto his plane. Every morning he smiles and says a polite hello. I give him a controlled nod, acknowledging him as I pass, pretending not to notice him. But I can feel his eyes undress me as I walk past. And if I’m being honest, they do a lot more. If his gaze gives me tingles, I dread to think what an actual touch could do.
Maybe I’m imagining the entire thing. Daydreaming the ultimate fantasy. Because he’s my Private Pilot. And I’m just his smitten boss.

Okay wow, this started off as a slow burn and then boom! Paige and Mason were just perfect! If you’re really in need of a guy who isn’t threatened by your position at work then time to enter this story because Mason is just the right guy for you! Lucky Paige, got a handsome devil along with a mushy heart!
I really enjoyed this book. My first by this Author and I have to say it was well done. I did find the more I went through the book the sexy vibe was wearing a bit and it turned to mush a little but I still did enjoy it. Overall I loved The sexy Captain, his Tiger and their story.😍
Private pilot Mason has been lusting after his boss, CEO Paige, ever since his first day on the job. But he's never made a move or let his feelings be known aside from not so covertly watching her as she saunters into the plane for each flight.
And then one night Mason can tell she needs someone to talk to. A few too many drinks, and the blazing chemistry between the two, and bam, suddenly they're not so professional any longer. But they'll need to have more than chemistry if they want to get to the bottom of the problems she'll soon start having with her company. Can ex-military Mason not just take control in the bedroom, but be in charge of protecting her too?
I really liked Private Pilot. It's not at all the fluffy, naughty thing I thought from the blurb that it would be. It's much more substantial, it's suspenseful, and yes, it's sexy af, but it's not light-hearted and fluffy at all. And that's all to its benefit. I'm not sure what Karen Deen has in store next, but I for one, can't wait to read whatever she has coming.

There was a lot of potential in this title. Unfortunately, most of it was unrealized.
I did actually finish it, I think because I was hopeful that some of the potential, the idea of the woman attracted to her pilot...both of them at the tops of their careers...but no.
I am sure there are other readers who loved this title, but the characters, and their interactions, fell flat for me.
Ex-military pilot Mason White is the total package complete with his own demons that he tries to control. Paige Ellen is the CEO of her father's company an only child and daddy's little girl even at 39 years old. Her father has always had a tight rein on his daughter, groomed to live the best CEO life.
Mason works for Ms Ellen as her private pilot so it is totally unprofessional the way Mason watches and feels each time Paige steps onto his plane ready for the next corporate meeting wearing those tight body hugging clothes and bright heels and the way she sways her behind as she walks up those stairs into the plane often leaves Mason desperate to see what lies beneath the cold corparate business wowan.
Paige doesn't want to want the feelings and desires Mason seems to bring out in her. It is not the cold professional image she has to portray.
This storyline is amazing the characters captivating their backstories are complex and all so very different yet together they mesh beautifully. This is a beautifully written heartwarming emotional story riddled with humour and adventure as well as a emotional connection that leaves you wanting more. I can't wait to devour the other characters adventures. Highly recommended read.
What better way to spend the afternoon than sitting reading one of Ms Deen’s books. They always hit the spot and once again she has delivered a book that makes you swoon, laugh and cry. Private Pilot includes a little bit of everything, it was sexy, steamy, cheeky, funny and flirty wrapped around some suspense. Which I’m not going to discuss and spoil...no my lips are sealed.
Mason loves his job as a pilot, he flies the boss in her plane from meeting to meeting. It doesn’t hurt that his boss Paige is easy on the eyes. In fact it’s quite disarming each time she steps out of the car. He finds himself waiting to see which killer heels she has chosen today. They are a dead giveaway, she portrays a tyrant in the boardroom but she’s hiding a sexy, playful nature. Each time she saunters up those stairs she hypnotises him with her delectable butt swaying. Her PA Tyson is an ass, a jerk who acts as if he is all that and more. It seems Tyson is so self absorbed he hasn’t noted Paige is upset, but Mason swoons in offering her a hanky.
Paige is the CEO of a company, every time she boards the company plane her eyes are drawn to Captain White. He stands at the bottom of the stairs waiting to greet her, with those damn aviators which add to his sex appeal. Mason has changed lately, he’s flirting but also extremely caring. She’s been blindsided with some disturbing information regarding her company. Mason notices the change in her demeanour and offers to help, but she’s the boss and has to be in control. A few too many drinks, a night she can’t remember, waking up alone and naked changes everything. It appears she was scared and reached out for help, now there is no turning back.
Paige is the head of her company. She doesn’t have time for men, no matter how attracted she is to Mason. He also works for her - as her pilot - so any relationship they started would be highly frowned upon. But what good is being the boss if you can’t make your own rules? At least that’s what Mason tries to get her to see. Unfortunately all is not as it seems with her company, and the last thing she needs is more drama from a workplace relationship. Will they be able to work together to save the company? Or is Mason doomed to be ‘just another distraction?’
This book was a little slow for me to get into, as far as the characters are concerned. I loved the idea of a female boss character - but Paige left a little to be desired. It could be because I have not been in her shoes or that position, so maybe I don’t understand what it takes; but she just came off as really arrogant and almost snooty. She did develop as a character as the book went on, so by the end of it I believed she had redeemed herself (at least from my original opinion). Mason, however, I loved from the start. He’s confident, an alpha - but not scared to let Paige be in charge (just not in the bedroom). I love his character’s softer side too - the work he does outside of work. I won’t spoil too much more. This book is about 320 pages, so it’s more than an afternoon read! I’d recommend it and would read it again.
*3 stars - I received an Advance Reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Okay... I dragged my feet a shit load reading this book because the sexual chemistry between Paige & Mason was off the freakin' charts🤤😎
Paige was not what I expected at all. Her sassy, bossy attitude made her extremely feisty and I loved that because it showed her strength.
Captain White on the other hand made me fall in love guys😍😂 I could not get over how caring, loving and generous of a man Mason is.
Paige is Mason's kryptonite. Mason is Paige's forever she never knew she needed.
I'm not going to give anything away because I want you guys to read this book. The deception in this book will leave you a little shook. This is not your average love story... You may want to keep your friends close and your employees closer because lines sure do get blurred.
I’m not even going to go into how much I love Paige and Mason because this plot twist was not at all what I expected. I may have suspected him, and then you it was confirmed when I read on. But wow this was honestly one of your best books hands down.
This book took me by surprise! After reading the blurb I thought it would be a light hearted romance. Nothing too serious. I was completely wrong and pleasantly surprised.
Mason is a pilot who now spends his career flying private jets. Or one jet in particular. The boss lady is a woman he would love to break her barriers and see her smile, help her let her hair down. She drives him crazy and they haven’t exchanged more than pleasantries. He is determined to make that change.
Paige is a powerful woman. She is in charge of a very successful business she is inheriting from her now retired father. Or at least should be retired however he likes to mettle still much to her chagrin. With her father’s health on the decline she is stretched thin and her ice facade is starting to crack.
Those cracks are the perfect opening for Mason and he takes it. Once he is behind her walls her learns there is so much more to Paige both personally and professionally. She may be the boss in charge of her own business but he is the man that is determined to see her through personally and takes his job seriously.
When someone starts to have a clear agenda against Paige and it’s not a good one, Mason steps in to protect his woman at all cost.
I love Mason’s take charge attitude. It is exactly what Paige needs. She needs that outlet to let someone else think and take care of things behind closed doors. She lets Mason in much easier than I expected. There are no games between these two once they take a stand and decide to be a couple and I like that. There is no question of their devotion to each other.
I really enjoyed this book and it’s a first time author to me. I will for sure be on the look out for more.
Karen Dean has turned what could have been just a light hearted read into a book a book with a great story!
It isn't easy for Paige Ellen - her life mapped out for her 39 years ago when she was dumped on the doorstep of the owner of Ellen Corporation (who wasn't even her father) her destiny was also to become CEO and take over from the only Father she has ever known. She has no friends her life is her work and making her father proud. The one bright spot in her world although she won't admit it is her Pilot Mason White - everything you image in Pilot and more so much more - he is sexy as sin with a calm exterior. Every time she gets on the plane there is more wiggle in her step into the plane. Paige knows nothing can come of her fantasy she is the Boss he is her employee but she can dream.
Mason on the other hand suffers daily from a case of 'blue balls' due to the beautiful Paige, every time she gets out of the car showing her bright coloured high heels he falls a little more deeply for her - but he is the employee she is the boss and he will remain professional. Ex Army - Mason has ghosts of his own and suffers silently with PTSD which he keeps under tight control.
When Paige un-covers someone embezzling from the firm and feeling venerable she turns to Mason.
Mason promises to protect Paige anyway he can while she and her Uncle find out who is behind the threat to her company. Not only does he show Paige life outside of work he introduces her to his friends who become like a 2nd family! But the threat is getting closer and comes from somewhere nobody thought to look - can he keep to his promise and keep Paige safe.
I liked the overall premise of this story. Mason has been working for Paige for several months and he's incredibly attracted to her. She's a high power CEO who needs a private plane for her frequent business trips. She keeps a tight lid over her emotions and professionalism at all times is paramount to her. Sure, she's noticed how sexy Mason is, but she's not one to make a move. It seemed ripe for angst and steam. However, the way the story really went didn't quite meet those expectations. For Paige to get involved with an employee seemed to straddle the line of forbidden and conflict of interest. But, she's the boss, so she can make up her own rules. Yet once they crossed the line, it seemed as though Mason being her employee suddenly became a non-issue. As for Mason, he has a lot of dark demons in his closet that he struggles with so he keeps people at arm's length other than his 3 best friends. And when it comes to Paige, what he knows of her is through observation and the tentative friendship that they begin to forge as he worms his way into her life. So once their relationship ramps up, it felt like Mason decided to go from zero to sixty in terms of his devotion to Paige and that seemed confusing to me that he'd make up his mind so suddenly that he wanted a life with this woman. Yes, it's swoony and all, but just didn't feel organic or natural in the progression. Otherwise, I liked both characters individually and they do belong together.
Private Pilot is so much more than a light hearted romance ! Get ready for a steamy, emotional flight with Mason and Paige . Mason is a ex-military pilot that is carrying a bit of baggage from his service days. He is now the private pilot to a lady boss. She is prim, proper, stoic, intelligent and sexy beyond his wildest dreams. He would love to break down her high walls and develop a personal relationship . When Paige finds herself in danger Mason will now show her the protective side he has kept hidden from her. Paige has been groomed to run her father's large company but it certainly was not handed to her on a silver platter. She has worked her butt off, sacrificed her personal life and given herself fully to hold her head high and be proud of how far she has come. She has it all or does she? She does not have that spark, comfort, friendship and support of a significant other. She now discovers that she has a spy in the company that is trying to take her down from within. She is about to see how protective her private pilot can be and oh so much more! Mason has stayed low for too long he must make a move, show his intensions. Paige can always feel when he is around. She feels safe when in his presence. When they finally decide to one night that is all it takes to let the dam break and all the feels to start !! Great story ! ~~Michele McMullen ~~
I really really enjoyed this book. This was my first book my Karen Deen and will most definitely not be my last. This book had a little bit of it all, it was steamy and witty, and had a little bit of suspense. Not to mention our hot hero pilot Mason. He was ALPHA to a T. When you think of an overbearing alpha Mason is exactly that. He was bossy and protective, but we also got to see his softer side which helps you fall for him more. He really compliments our heroine Paige well, she is a girl boss. This woman is as tough as nails and very career driven. She takes no crap from anyone and know what she wants, and goes for it. I really like the balance the two characters provide to one another, its not something you see to often in books. Some authors don't get it right, but Karen Deen does, she pulls it off. There is a perfect give and take between the two. Paige knows when to let Mason step in and take care of her, and Mason knows when to step back and let Paige handle it. That's probably my favorite thing about this book.
I also really enjoy that these characters are older, late 30s. Its refreshing to read about older people already established in life. I really enjoyed that aspect of the book. Again this is my first but certainly not last Karen Deen book.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Paige is a dedicated hard working CEO running her father’s company. Mason is the gorgeous captain flying her plane. He may be the best at his job, but he also knows how to live life with some fun. The one word Paige hasn’t experienced in a long time. She’d give anything to let loose and indulge in what she wants. That includes the captain. Just when Mason gets Paige on board to take a chance, Paige finds out that someone is embezzling from her company. This is an enjoyable story with lots of plot twists that keep you in suspense. You’re never sure who to trust, but there’s never a doubt that the captain’s on Paige’s side! Even though things get pretty steamy, these two really do offer the perfect calm to each other. Being with Mason gives her a sense of being accepted for who she is versus the amount of money she’s worth. It’s a freedom she’s not used to and for the first time she can let down her guard and make friends. I love that Mason pushes her to be more than just the worker bee her father has groomed her to be, helping us discover a whole new Paige. With the help of Mason and her uncle they uncover some incredible truths that will spin your head for sure. A definite must read!!
I read and ARC of this book. My fair and honest review is voluntary.
I only have read another book who's hero was a pilot, and that was awhile ago. That's probably the first reason why I decided to go for it. Then there was the intrigued blurb. So I said" yes I'm in"
What's my honest opinion about " Private pilot"?
It's a good read. With so many steamy scenes, which stand out all his skills in the bedroom.
And that will make you think he is in a way or another taking the main part of the story, puting the heroine in the background.
Well that's not the case. Because Paige is an SSS heroine: Strong, Sassy, sexy! And she knows damn well how to play her cards
Obviously you'll see and find out their darker secrets.
But they also will surprise you for their emphasis. Like there's nobody in the world able to se the other one like they reciprocally do.
And that's a very good point of the whole story.
Even the villian characters aren't so bad. They light the angsty moments of the story.
So , why the 3 stars?
First reason: the beginning. It gave me the strange feeling of slowing down too much the story.
Second reason: sometimes the storyline is too predictive
But that doesn't mean I won't say yes to another read from this author

I really have to start out by saying how HOT HOT HOT Private Pilot's cover is, because I mean, WOW! That's the first amazing piece of goodness about this book. Next up, Mason White...OH MY HELL he's soooooo sexy! He's an ex-military pilot with demons attached. Then there's Paige Ellen, the CEO of her father's company, and frankly, a total daddy's girl, though her father keeps her on a short leash. Mason is Paige's private pilot, and they have some serious chemistry, which shoots a crap ton of sparks every time she gets on the plane, but it would be inappropriate to actually get with him. Plus, Paige is determined to stay the cold, methodical/professional CEO, making any sort of feelings unwelcome. However, their type of chemistry doesn't care what she wants, because it won't be denied. Now, I've told you the players, the issues, and the potential complications which may or may not cause some big time push & pull. So, in order to find out how this amazing story pans out, you'll have to hit that one click button immediately! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This is my first Karen Deen book and I've added another book boyfriend to my library. Oh, Mason. *sigh*
Being married to a pilot, I was happy to see the little things weren't skipped (like pre-flight checks, and Hotel Oscar Tango pilot lingo 😉 Ha ha ha! Mind you, I think Mason may have skipped a walk around on the first time we met him at the aircraft. Every good pilot does that check, even if ground crew or engineers have already done it... or so I've been told. 🤪).
Paige was a beautiful, tough-shelled woman with a gooey centre. The issues she needed to deal with were tremendous! Kudos to her. And I loved all the twists and turns along the way, especially near the end. I didn't see one particular element coming!
Such wonderful characters! I've just bought Grayson's book because I didn't realise he had one until I searched. PLEASE let there eventually be books for Lex and Tate... and a few of the other characters I loved in their framily. 😍
Private Pilot ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Holy Hell that was 🔥 stars.... Please excuse me while I sit here trying to cool myself down.. 😂. Hot Damn Karen what a book!!! Mason is one seriously hot take no for answer alpha pilot. What Mason wanted Mason got and he wanted his sexy seemingly uptight CEO boss Paige. Both Mason & Paige had insecurities but with a connection so sweet and sizzling were able to find a HEA. Before a HEA this book has a number of twists and turns making it impossible for me to put down. And seriously the secondary characters specially the four guys had me choking on drinks and laughing out loud too many times to count!! Two guys down finding their forever and two to go. I can’t wait to read about them (totally assuming they will get a book 😂). This book had so many perfect elements rolled into one hot package, making it a must read... Sexy alpha pilot ✔️ Sassy Heroine ✔️ Steamy ✔️ Sexy ✔️ Sweet ✔️Twists and Turns ✔️ Angst ✔️ Hilarious ✔️HEA ✔️
Mason’s life was changing but was it for the better? His life before was filled with terror & bad memories that keeps him up at night. He needed to focus on something else or should I say someone else. Perhaps this new gig would set him straight, after all it was what he loved doing so that was a bonus… right?
Paige was brought into the world only to be discarded a few days later. Why was she not wanted? She managed to build herself up into the strong powerful woman she is today but it all comes at a cost. No time for love or romance…. Having all this responsibility on her shoulders is draining but she will do it for her father. He gave her everything in life and she will forever be grateful.
When two people are meant to be together they will find their way. This story was heart breaking but with a HEA. Loved the characters. Lots of sex… literally almost every second or third page… But who’s complaining right?
Amazing! When Karen Deen writes a novel it submerges you into the story. The character development truly makes you feel the happiness and pain they go through. Mason and Paige's emotional rollercoaster is not taken lightly. Being an only child that is taught and told at a young age what their life would be like is not easy. Especially when a hot aviator wearing pilot disturbs that dream.
These two characters have so much love and compassion not only for each other but to others too. Paige works well under pressure and with ease as she has secrets revealed to her throughout this novel. I wont spoil the twists and turns. I will say Karen leaves you guessing on who and what is going in. You may "think" you have it all figured out but even this time I couldn't have guessed this elaborate scheme.
Excited to read about the next love duo she decides to write about.
Paige has spent her whole life trying to please her father and show him that she is capable of taking over his corporation. She has been single minded in her purpose to the detriment of her personal life but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t noticed how sexy her pilot is. When everything she has worked for is in jeopardy, she didn’t expect that he would be the one person who would stand by her.
Mason still bears the emotional scars of his military career and is now a pilot. He can’t deny how attracted he is to Paige so even though he can’t act on it he can still look. That worked just fine until she reached out to him for assistance and now he will do whatever is necessary to protect her and claim her as his own.
A compelling storyline, hot chemistry, humorous banter all combine to give you everything you want in a story and more.
Wow, wow, wow! That’s all I can say about Private Pilot by Karen Deen. From page one I was hooked. Mason is an ex-military pilot working for strong and self sufficient CEO, Paige. We’re shown their attraction from the first moment and let’s just say it was 🔥HOT🔥.
There were so many moments while reading this that I was so thankful I was alone so I wouldn’t have to explain why I was laughing and blushing at the same time. I went from laughing to blushing to being love struck over Mason. I love finding a new book boyfriend and I think I might have found him.
Sexy, sweet, dangerous, and suspense. If ANY of these things appeal to you, I strongly suggest giving Private Pilot a shot, you won’t regret it. Just don’t blame me if you need a cold shower after.
I sincerely applaud Karen's decision to write a romance book where the woman is the badass centerpiece. Sure, Mason is all army-style, in control, wants to take control so she can rest once in a while, but Paige is amazing.
She's strong-willed, takes no BS from the men in her business life, knows what she wants and how to get it. She's quite inspiring and I enjoyed reading a character like her for a change.
And Mason... well, he's just exactly what she needs and the devilish pilot knows this and plays it to his advantage. After all, he'd do anything to get her attention.
OMG I thought Grayson was such a gorgeous hot alpha and so loveable but damn Mason makes me swoon even more. Mason is absolutely amazing and loves with his heart on his sleeve, I will admit it took me a little longer to love Paige as she was so standoffish to begin with but once he broke through her bada** persona she is so loving with Mason. I loved their story and how their relationship progressed and I also still love all the others and will we get a story on Fleur & Ashton ?? 😜 I loved the Mia, Jack & Kayla storyline and I hope her and Lex have a story as he seemed very invested with her when she was rescued. On to Tate next and I knew exactly who his love interest was going to be.
Ex Special Forces pilot Mason has it bad for his hard ass boss Paige Ellen. On Mason's plane, Mason is the boss, but the plane is owned by Paige. Hum, who’se the boss? Paige's assistant Tyson is a bossy "little boy" who manages to piss off Mason on every flight. There is hot attraction between Mason and Paige. Being a workaholic has Paige realizing someone is sabotaging her company. But whom, where does she start with researching and finding out whose the culprit. Then a unknown family member makes an appearance. Karen Deen has done it again. There are numerous ‘who done it’ and what happens keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Private Pilot by Karen Deen is a contemporary romance that follows CEO Paige and her hot Pilot Mason as they try to deny their feelings but inevitably navigate a relationship of hotness, angst, tension and melting moments. Paige and Mason are absolutely perfect for each other and Karen has done a great job of building these characters, their lives and interactions with each other as well as the people around them. Private Pilot is a follow up story to Gorgeous Gyno already released but Gorgeous Gyno follows one of Masons mates, Grayson. Both can be read as standalones but both contain interwoven characters. Great story.
A contemporary romance between a 39-year-old Billionaire CEO heroine and a 35-year-old ex-army pilot. Themes include friends, family, suspense, adoption, PTSD and charity are found in this book. A minorly angsty read with a happy ending.
