Falling in love could be more dangerous than the past they hide
Criminal, liar, a fraud are all things that can be said about Kellen Steele. It takes all but three seconds for the notorious bad boy of Three Rivers to set his sights on Sloan Tate. She is to be his distraction, to help him pull off his biggest lie, which is also his greatest achievement.
Sloan Tate knows how to handle herself. Not looking to settle anywhere never mind down with anyone. Her plan? Close up her late Granny’s estate and leave town as fast as she came. Sloan knows each day she stays in Three Rivers her past is bound to catch up with her.
Powerless against the chemistry wrapping them together, Kellen and Sloan must decide exactly what they're willing to lose in order to win each other.

She married her high school sweetheart and they have two amazing children.
Full disclosure, I was really iffy about reading this book. After the previous one, where I had a lot of issues with the story, I just wasn't sure if I was prepared to give this one a go. But Kellen and his secrets intrigued me a lot and I knew that I couldn't miss getting to learn what it was that had him acting out so much. And I'm glad I did because I ended up enjoying this book a lot and Kellen was really fun to read about.
Kellen certainly had his share of secrets, but as we found out more and more about him, they only helped to draw me into his character. He could be intense at times, yet for the most part he was an upbeat guy that didn't let anything knock him down. He was also very charming and had me swooning when he used that charm on Sloan.
Sloan was just as interesting as Kellan, and even though her secrets were maybe not as big I still found myself captivated by her. She and Kellen fit so well together, both with their backgrounds that weren't exactly legal, and she had that same sweet personality that hid the ruthlessness that could come out.
Right from the start of this book it gets you captivated and from there the anticipation of waiting to find out what's to come only builds. It had me walking the hallways while reading just because I didn't want to put it down. Definitely a recommended read from me, but I will say that it probably shouldn't be read before Stolen Moments. There isn't anything that will majorly spoil the previous book for you but to fully understand how Kellen got to be where he is, you'll need to read that book first.
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
"He is my moonlight that shines down on me, making me see that there is more than darkness."
Sloan and Kellen held my heart from their first chance meeting!! The dance around each other, the push/pull, the intoxicating way they each fell but tried to fight it, all swirled in with a suspenseful backdrop in the tiny town of Three Rivers was off the charts!! I've loved Kellen from the first book, and eagerly awaited his story, and each second of it was so well worth it!! He's so yummy, and he and Sloan were fire, even with mounting obstacles dead set on keeping them apart. Having to deal with each of their skeletons while simultaneously falling, kept me up to the wee hours inhaling each and every word. I can't wait to return to Three Rivers for the next book!! This one is going on my Top Reads of the year, and I can't wait for more!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!
Moonlight moments is the second book in the Steele Family series and centres around Kellen Steele who readers were introduced in the first book in the series. I really enjoyed the way the writer wrote the storyline in a way that made it hard to put the story down.
Kellen was a dominating alpha male that had a lot of mystery surrounding him. He has a bad reputation in the town he live in but I found in this story the sweet side to him when he was with Sloan.
Sloan is an independent and feisty female within the story that really was Kellen's equal. i really enjoyed the way that she stood up to Kellen and showed how much she cared for him.
The two characters were really perfect for each other throughout he story. This was an enjoyable story from start to finish.
Moonlight Moments by Emily Bowie a five-star read that will light up your night. This is the second novel in the Steele Family series and this one follows on five-years after the first novel Stolen Moments, but they can be read as stand-alone. Kellen is a dark brooding soul and has a reputation that means everyone in the small town of Three Rivers would tell you to avoid him. But this amazingly written story takes us deeper and shows us his darker underbelly and the light that truly shines through when you see his true nature. Sloan is somehow coming from the same place as Kellan in that she isn’t showing us her true self as she can’t be true to herself until she is able to be free of the shadows that follow her. The stories of the people and the lives they lead will make you want to visit Three Rivers, pop along for a drink and you may never want to leave. Now I just have to eagerly await Brax’s story, will he get a happy ending?
I was trapped from the beginning of this book, I just could not put this one down. I was intrigued from beginning to end. This author has a truly unique gift with the way she writes and is able to pull you in and not let you go. Without giving too much away, I will tell you that Sloan and Kellan were definitely a perfect pair. But will the trust issues cause more trouble than it's worth to fall in love? With all the secrets and twist and turns you will want to pick this one up and not put it down. I can't wait for the next book.
I enjoyed Shay and Luke in Stolen Moments, but Kellen was definitely a character I wanted to know more about. He sacrifices a lot in the first story and has some other issues, so I was excited that we would learn more about him in Moonlight Moments. A few years have passed and Kellen is ready to start his life again.
Kellen still has a lot of secrets in this story, but I was really curious about him. There were definitely things that jumped out and hooked me from the start. I needed to know more. He's still a bit arrogant, but is also realizing the consequences of him being away for awhile has done to the town and his family.
Sloan also has some things going and when she meets Kellen, it isn't her greatest moment. Another character that took some time revealing things, but I really enjoyed her. Even though a lot has gone on in her life and definitely not all good, she's still strong and independent. She isn't the type to sit and feel bad for herself, but she fights back. Sloan is determined to make her life better and works hard to make that happen. It was nice seeing her let people in again and try and be happy!
Kellen and Sloan definitely have chemistry from the start, but for me the instant connection went too far, too fast. I'm not for the instant falling and love and sleeping together. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's just not my favorite thing to read about. Their relationship does develop and we get to know more about them getting to know each other. I just wish this started a little earlier on in the story.
It's clear this author likes her characters to fight for their relationships and she's good at it. There were a lot of factors against them being together, but they stayed strong. Sloan and Kellen had some sweet moments together, but also a lot of steamy ones. Kellen is definitely the macho in this relationship, but Sloan knew how to make it clear she could take care of herself. It was fun seeing that come to life.
Moonlight Moments was another fast and interesting read by this author, I just wish we got more details and information more in the beginning. It wasn't until almost halfway through the book that I really started understanding the characters.
That first sight thing put them in each other's cross hairs. She was still on the run from the last bad choice in men and wasn't ready or interested in making it all worse. He was fresh out of jail and had secrets, a woman wasn't on his radar. . . until he saw her. Neither could stay away even with warnings they still had an explosive chemistry they continued to fight but for how long. What follows is an amazing story of cat and mouse and budding love. Along with their fumbles we also get plenty of action and twist to make this an awesome read. This author does an amazing job of mixing it up and making this story so much more than the tease of the blurb. Characters we're giving the side eye to become ones to watch as the intrigue builds. The Steele family is definitely worth watching and a joy to read about. Love this standalone series watching this clan rise from the ashes and get all they ever wanted but dared to hope for. There is so much more to them that meets the eye and I gotta know more.
Moonlight Moments is book two in the Steele Family series. It can be read as a standalone. I read the first book, Stolen Moments, and couldn't wait to get my hands on this one because I wanted to know Kellen's story. Kellen is a lot more complicated then I thought. He has a lot of thing going on and his story definitely surprised me. Sloan's character surprised me too. I hadn't realized that Sloan how deep her past in Three Rivers was. Sloan is sweet and nice. Her chemistry with Kellen is great. These two have things that they are tangled up with and I kept turning the pages to see how it would all turn out.
When I read Emily's first book, Stolen Moments, I knew I had found a great new author to follow *cough* stalk *cough*. Her words make me feel, swoon, smile and leave me feeling warmhearted.
I felt like Kellen's story would be different - I knew there was more to his story after he took the fall for his sister. I just didn't realise HOW much!
Kellen: He was sweet, strong, persistent and protective. Sloan: She was independent, passionate, stubborn and feisty. Together: They were explosive. Seriously, the heat these two put out could be responsible for global warming!
"Maybe, because Kellen and I are both a little bit broken, we can work in our own f@#ked-up way. He is my moonlight that shines down on me, making me see that there is more than darkness."
Awww.... reading this quote brings back all the feels of this book.
It was addictive. I didn't want to adult at all once I had opened this book. It was simply... AMAZING.
Moonlight Moments is book 2 in the Steele family series, and I must say, I’m blown away again! Stolen Moments - book 1 - tells you all about how Kellen landed in jail, and why he’s like he is now, so I’d suggest you read this book before.
This book starts with Kellen getting out of jail after 5 years. On his way home, he meets Sloan, who is stranded on the street because of car trouble. The chemistry is there instantly.
Sloan is on her way to Three Rivers to close out her Grandma’s estate. She’s constantly on the run, not staying long in one place, because she doesn’t want to be found. But her past is catching up to her.
People in this city are a little cautious about Kellen, some more some less, and it’s not always easy for him. It seems like he’s going back to be the rebellious teenager he was years ago. Meeting up with the same crowd as he has before. Has he not learned from his past mistakes?
Like in book 1, Emily Bowie got me hooked from the first to the last page! I took my kindle with me every where we went, so I could read a few pages every now and then. I had such a hard time putting it down! She has a way with words, absolutely amazing. All the feelings, so perfectly described, I always feel like I’m part of the book. The little things, secrets, they get you hooked, they make this book so interesting, you don’t want to stop reading. I can’t tell you more about the story, because I’d give away too much of it, and no spoilers here! Lol. But if you like small town family romances, go for this series. I am totally in love, and can’t wait for Brax’s story....
Kellen has just been released from jail after serving a five year sentence. He is returning back to his hometown when he sees a woman experiencing car trouble, so he stops to help and the connection and chemistry between them was instant and intense.
Sloan has a past of her own that she is trying to escape. All she wants to do is finalize her Grandmother’s estate and leave town as quickly as possible but sometimes life has other plans.
Kellen and Sloan are two kindred souls who are both trying to leave their past where it belongs. Kellen is trying to show the townspeople that he is not the man they think he is while Sloan just wants to fly under the radar. I enjoyed this book and look forward to more stories centered around the Steele family. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Love getting to see the real Kellen in this book. You get to see what was happening behind the scenes. I’m sad he stayed in jail so long though darn darn darn! The suspense was perfect and I am glad Sloan didn’t think she needed to be alone all this time. Starting their animal shelter was so awesome and fit them perfectly. I loved this couple. Can’t wait for book 3!

Moonlight Moments by Emily Bowie is book Two in the Steele Family Series. This is the story of Sloan Tate and Kellen Steele. I have read the previous book but felt you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Kellen is the Three Rivers bad boy who is fresh out of jail after being their for about 5 years. Kellen happens to meet Sloan when her car breaks downs. Sloan is headed to Three Rivers to settler her grandmother's estate and then move on as quickly as she can. Sloan is on the run from her past where she is being stalked. Sloan knows to stay in one place log isn't the smart thing to do. But Kellen has his eye on her and she just might not get to moving on so fast. Enjoyed their story.
Emily Bowie nailed Kellen's story!! I know we've all been anticipating it since Shay's major climax scene and not just because we're excited to know more about her brother but because there was so much mystery and intrigue surrounding him. If there was ever a character to spell out T-R-O-U-B-L-E it'd be no one else but Kellen Steele!! I adored Sloan. I'm just so tickled that Kellen met a woman his equal and just as strong. Kellen has a dominant personality and he very much just does as he will. However, Sloan doesn't just lie back and take it. I think he needs a woman that will stand up to him but will also fight with him... for him.
The suspense is great. I really felt as though Emily Bowie was feeding us little morsels of information, piece by piece. I liked it! I started to arrange pieces as I thought like a puzzle board. This was some of Mrs. Bowie's best writing yet. It felt so developed and so descriptive... I'm really looking forward to Kipton's story next. I feel like he's gotten the shaft on so many things and I'm wondering if he has any lingering issues with Keelen. They seemed ok in this book but it just feels like Kip's had to deal with the fallout of other people's actions. I wonder how all of that will influence his book and if there will be a real conclusion on what happened that faithful day out in a field with an old rusty gun. I'd love to see a resolution of sorts there... too many secrets out there and secrets dont keep!!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
This is the second in the Steele Family series, and the hero in this one is Kellen. I liked him a whole lot more in this book than I did in the first one, because the reasons for his behaviour in the first book were explained in this one.
After spending five years in jail for a crime he didn't commit, Kellen has grown up and turned his life around. After being released, he's on his way to a wedding when he discovers a woman on the side of the road next to her broken down car. He stops to help, and his attraction to Sloan is immediate - she's fiesty, sassy, and completely closed off to him.
Sloan is back in Three Rivers after the death of her grandmother to sort out the house and catch up with her cousin, Kiptyn. It turns out Kellen has worked for Kiptyn in the past, and Kiptyn's business is not on the right side of the law. Sloan finds herself a part time job as a waitress, and everyone warns her about Kellen when they see him hanging around her, but they don't know about Sloan's past - she's no angel, either.
Sloan has sworn off men after her ex, but something about Kellen draws her in and she can't resist him. She sees a side to him that very few others do - but when his secret comes out and she's caught in the crossfire, will she be able to forgive him for all the lies? Can she ever trust him again?
I really enjoyed the relationship between Kellen and Sloan. I love books where the attraction is immediate and overwhelming, and they simply can't keep their hands off each other. Kellen was very much redeemed in this book, and I'm glad I read it.
So this wasn't a bad book, but I didn't love it. Kellan Steele has just gotten out of jail for a crime he didn't commit. He meets Sloan broken down on the side of the road and stops to help. They clash at first and then eventually fall in love. All the while, Kellan has a secret and Sloan's ex is after her.
There is a lot going on in this book. It is definitely action packed. I liked Sloan. She is strong and fiery and can take care of herself. Kellan is fine. The supporting characters don't get much development at all, other than Sloan's cousin/Kellan's boss-slash-friend Kip. One thing that really bugs me about this book, though, is Kellan's big idea at the end. It's a great idea, but earlier in the book Sloan's narrative mentions how little education they both have. Kellan got a degree while in prison, but we have to assume that degree relates to his secret job. Sloan has a vet assistant certificate but hasn't worked in that field. So how on earth are they qualified to run the kind of center they decide to open? We can tell ourselves they hired professionals, but the epilogue leads us to believe they are the ones doing it. *scratches head* Huh??
Really, this isn't a bad book. I just couldn't connect with the characters.
Moonlight Moments by Emily Bowie is a fantastic book! I couldn’t put my kindle down! This is the second book in her Steele Family series. This is the second book by this author Emily Bowie that I have read and she didn’t disappoint at all with this book.
Moonlight Moments explores the budding romance between Kellen Steele and Sloan Tate. The pair meet for the first time when Kellen who just got out of prison gave Sloan and pulled her car to her grandmother house who had passed away. Both of them had a troubled past and was looking for a new beginning. The chemistry between Kellen and Sloan was spontaneous! The passion is hot and steamy at first sight! Will Sloan and Kellen get their happy ever after? You will have to read Moonlight Moments by Emily Bowie to find out!
Moonlight Moments by Emily Bowie had me on the edge of my seat! I had to continue to read to find out what was going to between Sloan and Kellen. Emily Bowie keeps the reader engaged throughout the whole book. Make sure you read Moonlight Moments by Emily Bowie! You won’t be disappointed!
Seeing the broken-down car he stops, the woman is breathtaking, looking at her he wants to take her in his arms, thinking it could be he’s just out of jail, but knows it’s not, but lets her know the problem, offering her a life, again seeing uncertainty in her eyes. Everyone keeps telling her to stay away from Kellen and learns some of why. After Kellen helped her at work, she tells him she doesn’t interact with murderers, she doesn’t know if it was the right thing to say, but he’s there to make sure she gets home safely, she reminds him they aren’t friends. The electricity sizzles and they develop a friendship, Kellen has secrets he knows he can’t tell her even if he wants to, he has to let her believe what she hears about him. She can’t deny the attraction, but she knows she has to be free from her past and learn to trust again. Everyone keeps warning her away but he’s slowly warming her heart. Kellen wants to be the one to make her smile, have her next to him, but what happens when everything comes out.
In the blink of an eye your whole world can change, the way those around you move away from you, love only a few loyal people who are willing to stand beside while you try and rebuild what was thrown away. Kellen Steel used to have it easy but now that he is out of prison he must try and piece his life back together. All the while doing the job he was roped into before he went away for some time.
Sloan Tate is the gypsy in the wind, running from the one man who was her downfall. But soon her life will take a turn of maybe setting down roots for a change. But soon she will have a choice to make. To stay or run like the gypsy she is.
Both Kellen and Sloan are two lost souls who are fighting for survival in a world that is not as accepting to their rebellious ways. Can these to Lovers stand and fight the good fight side by side or will they let the world tear them apart?
Emily bowie has brought us back to Three Rivers and the Steel family for more of a flight and fight situation. I can't wait to read more on the Steel Family.

Moonlight Moments is the second book in the Steele Family. I thought the story was interesting, and the twists kept me turning the pages. The characters Kellan and Sloan were so good together, and they had great chemistry. I liked that the other Steele family members were in the story too. And I got to say Kellan redeemed himself in this book, he seemed like his attitude changed for the better, and he put others before himself. Which is good since I didn't really care for him in the first book Stolen Moments, so I was a little leery about reading this book.. I'm looking forward to Brax and Raya's story next.
Moonlight Moments has it all - romance, chemistry, mystery, and action! I loved reading about Kellan and Sloan's connection and understanding how the success of their relationship depends on their ability to let go of their pasts. They are both distrusting characters - with good reason - and the way they let their guards down with each other is promising. Their chemistry is hot, their connection is sweet, and their loyalty is strong! Moonlight Moments will captivate you from the first page!
You meet Kellen in book 1 and he had me intrigued. You can tell these two have extreme chemistry from the start. Sloan is extremely independent and full of sass she is not afraid to tell Kellen what she thinks or feels. Kellan is full on Alpha he is the bad boy with a super sweet side. These two kept me on my toes guessing what was gonna be coming next. Im so glad that these two were able to over come all the obstacles that were in there way.
Kellen is getting out of prison and he meets this girl who makes his world turn on axis. Sloan is a girl who is running away from her ex whom is a bad bad man. Her ex ace is a man who thinks he has all the power over her. Kellen has finally admitted to kip who is her cousin on his feelings towards sloan. They have this connection like no other. Their relationship is good but they have issues and things that stand in their way. Love it
I loved this book! This book is about redemption to me, for both Kellen and Slone. There is a little of everything in this book and it definitely keeps me wanting to know more about this family. To me Kellen did a very selfless thing but now has to live with his actions. I love the twist that was put on that. Slone also has done things she isn't proud of and has been running a long time. I love how these two come together. I am definitely waiting impatiently for the next book!
This is the second book in this awesome series, and this is Kellen and Sloan’s story. Kellen has met his match with Sloan, as she certainly gives him a run for his money, but they are perfect together. The chemistry between them is intense, and they both have secrets. This is a beautifully written story which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I look forward to reading more from this gifted author. I recommend for all.
Wowzerssss this book has some kinda depth. There is a lot going on but we get Kellen's story in Moonlight Moments and boy is his story a doozy! You think you know this family loving bad boy from the first book in the series, but you have no idea what he really was involved with. We also meet Sloan in this book and this chick is pretty freaking awesome. Read the book to learn how this bad boy finds his match, but has to work for it along with all of the other drama going on!
This was a good read. I liked Sloan and Kellen, They had great chemistry and their attraction was intense. The storyline was interesting and kept me engaged. Both characters had baggage that had to be dealt with and worked through. Dramatic, emotional, sweet and steamy, I thought that this was a enjoyable read. This is my forthright review that I'm posting of my own accord.
