A dark tale of obsession, beauty, and lust! Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Amazon Bestseller Vivian Wood writes dark romance as OLIVIA RYANN.

Stolen and abducted… yet in the same stroke, saved.
On one hand, I escaped certain death at the hands of people who have already hurt me.
On the other, now I’m trapped with him.
The rival of my abuser, who is every bit as terrifying. Dark and sinfully handsome, he wants me.
He wants me to turn my back on the religion that has raised me.
He wants me to spread my legs for him and him alone.
He wants to punish me. He wants to teach me to like his lessons.
Or else he’ll kill my little sister and turn me over to the men who controlled me before.
Either way, I will have to make sacrifices. Sacrifices that have lasting consequences.
I walk on the knife’s edge between falling prey again and completely losing myself.
And if I’m not careful, I may end up worse than dead...

I absolutely LOVED this story.

Olivia Ryann delivers a dark and wickedly sinful story in Punish. In a world where a princess is being sought by more than one man, is love really an option? Masterfully written, this book continues the story of Rue and Dryas, and will leave you eagerly hungering for more

Punish by Olivia Ryann is the second book in the Protect Series but is the story of Dryas and Rue. Book one which is "Provoke' starts their introduction so its a quick read but you may want to read that to fully enjoy their story here.

Rue and her sister have been raised in the convent where things were not easy but now Father Derrick has a plan to marry her to Prince Henrick..which won't be a good thing at all for her. So she goes to make a run for it but ends up getting kidnapped by Dryas. Now she is at his mercy exchanging one fate for another but there is something about Dryas that is making her feel things that she never have before.
The next book will continue their story and so on.

Rue is on the run. She is running away from the church and the pre-arranged wedding to Prince Henrick. If Father Derrick catches her he is going to punish her or worse. She can’t let them catch her. They have big plans for her and the end result is not in her favor.

Dryas is out for revenge. Still filling the guilt raging through him for killing his brother, he sets on a new path of revenge. Revenge against his #1 enemy, Father Derrick. Father Derrick took someone from him. Someone dear to him. Killed her. Murdered her. His precious Aurelia and now Dryas plans to take something of his. Someone very important to Father Derrick….Rue.

The day he is to set his plan in motion, Rue makes it easy. She runs. Right before the wedding is to take place, there is a distraction and he sees her take off. Now why would she do that? He does not care. All that matters is he catches her.

During her path to freedom, someone catches her. No not catches….kidnaps. She wakes up drugged and on a train, with the devil staring at her. She should be afraid, but she feels a sort of attraction to him. But reality slaps her in the face when the devil tells her she is to do what he wants, when he wants or he will torture her sister.

Has Rue just made a mistake in running? Did she trade one evil for another?

Rue has some dark secrets of her own. Secrets that could ruin her. Dryas will have to dig deep if he is to break her. These two have a powerful chemistry. But the secrets may just break them both.

Wow! Just wow! Olivia Ryann sure knows how to leave her audience gasping for breath and going what the hell just happened??.. A wonderful start to a potentially great dark erotic series. Bravo! Bravo!

This book is the spin off from the Cherish Series. In this series we delve into what happens with Dryas after he has killed his brother Arsen. At least he thinks he killed Arsen. Dryas is not handling his guilt over his transgression very well and sets on a new path. A path to destroy Father Derrick.

Like the last series, Punish is about dark mob alpha males, who are very damaged in many ways. Losing sight of what is important, on missions of revenge over a lost love. Each tale of the brothers starts with a kidnapping. Each kidnapping is a plan to break the kidnapped person and destroy their innocence.

True to Olivia’s style with her books, she ends each one with a WTF moment. Each ending leaving you begging for more, hooking your interest. Once you start this book, be prepared not to put it down. They are action packed till the end and will have you on the edge of your seat. This book is no different.

Overall this book is an excellent start to the new series. It is a steady paced, erotic thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat. The story is challenging and the characters are dark and intriguing. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book, because what the hell just happened!?

Nothing and I mean NOTHING will prepare you or your emotions for this couple! Rue and Dryas are at constant odds with one another but every so often each allows a little emotion to show and its through those brief moments that you feel the depths of their souls! The strength that Rue has keeps Dryas coming for more but even though she can stand her ground with him she has others that know how to play her emotions and bring her down! Dryas is too learning her weaknesses and trying to use them to get her to bend to his will!

Both are lost, and both have felt a pain that goes beyond the flesh! The demons that they carry will either make them stronger or turn them both to dust!

This is book 2 and follows Provoke (prequel)! Each book needs to be read in order and you don’t want to miss it because these books are so much more then what they seem and so much more then the series before (Arsens story)

Protect Series - Book 2

The continuing story of Dryas and Rue.

The suave Aetos brother, Dryas is coming to grips on what he has done to his brother and in also stealing Rue from the church.

The sheltered Rue, or was she as sheltered as Dryas thought? She is so naive in some things and too worldly in others.

This is an exciting instalment in this series! The ending is going to leave you gasping for more!

Well done!

There’s nothing I can even say about this to do it justice and I’m already on pins and needles waiting for the next one!! This story starts where the prequel ended and omg am I dying!!! It was chalk full of suspense, darkness, mystery and you don’t know what truly is going to happen next. This might be my new favorite series if it continues in this direction of epicness

The cliffhanger queen strikes again...can't wait for the next book!!

Olivia is killing me with these cliffhangers! Dryas has told Rue he will have her innocence, but she will give it to him willingly. They are isolated at a seaside castle. Dryas veers between disarming her, deprogramming the years with the church, and scaring her. He is convinced he will be getting her virginity. Unbeknownst to him, Rue was befouled by the evil Father Derrick. Their time in the castle is almost idyllic. He works his way under Rue's skin. Into her mind. But you know it's not going to be smooth sailing. They both have issues and damage because of the Father. And those issues appear when least expected. I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Rue is a naive and sheltered young woman who has lived in the convent with her sister for the past eight years. Horrible things happen behind the closed doors of the convent, especially Father Derricks. When Rue overhears Father Derrick and Prince Henrick discussing that she is not only heir to King Rebel but that her fate is sealed after the marriage, she decides to run. She ends up running straight into the arms of her kidnapper.

Dryas is guilt ridden over the loss of his young love and his brother. He's a lost and tortured soul seeking revenge against Father Derrick. Therefore, he must take someone who means something to Father Derrick. Dryas always gets what he wants.

Punish is dark, edgy and a little twisted. There is a push and pull connection between Rue and Dryas. At times you will feel the their emotions surface and their  weaknesses they heavily guard. Rue cannot reveal her secret.

A great introduction to the Protect Series. Can't wait for Possess #2.

There is a cliffy but so worth the wait.

I am voluntarily reviewing this book. OMG!!! Olivia Ryann has done it again, Punish book 2 is a dark, edgy, thrilling story filled with twists and turns, lies, murder and betrayals. This installment will leave you anxious from beginning to end. All I can say is that my heart was beating with every page that I read wondering what is going to happen next to these amazing characters. Rue has been taken by Dryas while fleeing from Father Derrik and now is his prisoner. Will he be able to get his revenge on the one man that has destroyed him and turned him into the devil that has controlled him all these years? Rue and Dryas are each trying to overcome the demons that haunt them while fighting their feelings for each other. Will Dryas learn of her secrets in time? Neither knows what is coming next for them as once again Rue disappears and now we are left with more questions of who saves who. This is one book you will not want to end and is a must read. Can't wait for Possess.

Wow! She hooked me in from the first word on this one. This is the second book in the Protect Series. It connects with the Cherish series, though you don't need to read that one to make sense of this one (though I would since its amazing). I was intrigued by Dryas from the first book, what makes him tick, what drives him? Whats with his hatred for his brother? Unfortunately, this book gives few answers and poses ALOT more questions, though my faith is in this author, she gave us answers when we waited patiently last time, she'll do it again. Rue was sweet, trusting, new? I need to get more of a feel for her, but I can see how even cold bitter Dryas would want to save her and protect her. I'm so excited for these two, together they scorch the pages and next month can't get here soon enough as I eagerly await their next chapters!

You MUST read Provoke before you even read Punish. I was given the chance to read an advanced readers copy for an honest review.

This storyline has so much potential, sadly for me it just is not one that I will continue with. I guess when I decided to read this and it says a dark mafia read I expect to read a story that includes some kind of mafia. Now don't get me wrong this is a dark read with some of the things that the characters have been through especially the heroine.

Dryas is dark and mysterious and is very up front about who he is and what he wants. He is still very angry by the death of his first love and is determined to get revenge on those he holds responsible. He sets out to do just that where Rue is concerned. Rue finds out in Provoke she is to marry Prince Henrick. She overhears something she isn't supposed to and decides she is going to try and save herself.

The complexity of the characters is really well written. You have a dark, broody, black knight in shinning armor who does have issues all wrapped up in a tiny bow. Then you have a sweet young naïve woman who has been raised by the church to believe she is unworthy. You bring the two of them together and they go together like oil and water. Will they be able to coexist or will their inner turmoil keep them apart?

What another amazing read by Olivia Ryann. She is so good at writing dark romances that will have you coming back for more. Lots of emotions for me in this one, I was frustrated with Rue and Dryas, it was driving me crazy yet, so freaking amazing this story. And that ending, so beware, there is a cliffhanger.

So much happens here, Rue escapes from father Derrik, but then Dryas gets her. He has a card up his sleeve to make sure she minds him, her sister. She is just a pawn in Dryas game to get revenge over Father Derrik. If you want to know why, read ahead! There are lots of questions to be asked when you are done reading Punish. Will she get a happy ending, is it even possible? Does Dryas really have feelings for her or is this just a game!! This series is so good guys, 100% would recommend.

Just when I think I've got Olivia Ryann's torrential torment all figured out, I read Punish, and it's back to the drawing board for me cursing her and her evil plot twisty, hot and oh so suspenseful ways!
Talk about hooking me from page one!
Surprises around every turn- including how Dyras and Rue are!
The not so well thought out plan, the multitude of secrets and their layers, the heat, the pure evil lurking, innocence, darkness, and shades of grey, and the confusion. It all wraps itself around a captivating, spine-tingling story that has me tied up in knots.
A fierce tale with a beast of cliffy, I cannot wait for Possess!

Dryas and Rue's story pulls you right in and doesn't let go! Not only is it hot, but the characters are so fascinating to read about. My heart goes out to both characters who have suffered greatly in very different ways. Dryas has lost his love, taken by a deplorable man who hides behind the cloth, and then there is Rue who has lost almost everything that she has to the same man. Although Dryas takes Rue for revenge, they both find comfort with each other through the losses they have both experienced. I am so excited for more of this series, especially since book 2 ends in a cliffhanger that has me clinging to the edge of my seat to know what happens next.

Captivating and addictive

Captivating and addictive read. Once I started this dark and beautiful story I did not want to put it down. Dryas is a arrogant man who simply takes what he wants without a care. Delicate and broken Rue is one of his unfortunate victims. The twists this story takes will have you in the edge of your seat wanting more of these two characters.

Olivia Ryann’s Punish is the second book of her new Protect series. This series follows one of the Aetos brothers, Dryas. In her first series, the Cherish series, we read the story of Dryas’s brother, Arsen. At the end of that series, Dryas plays heavily into its end. With the Protect series, we see some of the “fall-out” from his actions. Even more, Dryas is contriving to problematize the life of a new character, Father Derrick.

With the first book, Provoke, (you can read my review of that book here), we are provided some background into the other characters of this new series besides Dryas, namely the main h Rue. With Punish, the story continues. Dryas has kidnapped Rue with the intent to make her fall in love with him. He wants to take from Father Derrick as a way to punish him for a past transgression. He takes Rue to a castle in France to isolate and enact his plan. Their relationship progresses during their isolation. This book, like the second book of Ryann’s Cherish series, ends on a cliffhanger.

I have to admit, given Dryas’s actions in the final book of the Cherish series and his actions in the first book of this series, that I thought he would be a monster. However, in contrast to his brother Arsen, he’s relatively tame. To me, Arsen truly embodied Katherine/Fiore’s nickname for him, Monster. We know Dryas has sociopathic tendencies, illustrated in other books. However, there is a sensitivity to him. Yes, there are times when he is cruel. Yet, he is careful with Rue in ways that were unexpected. When the book ended, I wasn’t disappointed by his actions towards Rue. Instead, I was disappointed that I could not watch their romance progress further.

As far as the h for this book, Rue is tame. She is a perfect foil to Dryas’s character as she is untainted by life given her life in the convent, but she does not struggle against Dryas as much as her h counterpart, Fiore, in the Cherish series. The cliffhanger of this book will bring more insight into her character in the next book. I’m holding my opinion about her until we find out more details about her in the next book, Possess. I want to see her become more fiery, which I think we’ll see as her truth is revealed in the next two books.

Dryas and Rue together breed fire. They are $exy together, and I suspect they will change each other in ways that Dryas’s brothers, Arsen and Damen, have changed by the heroines of their stories. Redemption is coming…I think.

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rue Buchel’s not sure what her future will hold. Dryas Aetos has an agenda when it comes to Rue. It’s that agenda that is the driving force for this next addition to the Protect series. This book showed how in some ways they are the same. But like the first book, in no way did I feel that this was a romance.

This series is like a serial or soap opera. You have to keep reading in order to find out what’s going on. Maybe it leads to a romance, and maybe not, but the only way you will find out is if you continue to read the next book and maybe the book after that. And I wasn’t left with the feeling of any love between the two.

In this book I was impressed that the author let the reader hear from the bad guy of the piece. It was great to hear his thoughts as opposed to someone else’s opinion. That’s not to say that we don’t need those opinions because you’ll get a more rounded look at the man. The author also lets us get more of an impression of Rue’s sister Amabel. I know I should feel sorry for her but I can’t. There was one scene where I could almost feel the author sitting on my shoulder wringing her hands. And that just left me wondering what her plans for this character are.

It certainly is a story that grabs your attention. It feels like Dryas wants to corrupt a young girl but his humanity fights with him and you will see glimpses of that. Rue seems so oblivious of the world around her. She’s been hidden away for a while and that shows in her thinking and by some of the things she does. The ending just leaves you with questions and you will have to keep reading to see if any of your questions seem to get answered.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Where do I even start? The story of Rue and Dryas continues when Dryas finally catches Rue on her attempt to escape on her arranged marriage to Prince Henrick and the tortured life she has lived in the convent under the control of Father Derrik. The back and forth between Dryas and Rue is bittersweet. Rue is so confused when it comes to her feelings towards Dryas. She has been told she behaves in a tempting and wrong way. Yet, she is not the one who is that way. Father Derrik is the one who is abuses his power over her in a twisted and evil way. Dryas is having trouble overcoming what he believes happened with Aerson. Both in the past and more recently. He is also still struggling with what Father Derrik did to his beloved Aurelia. I will say Dryas at times surprises me.in his internal dialogue he thinks of how he wants to break Rue down and seek his revenge on Father Derrik through her and then he shows such a carrying side of himself towards her. He takes care of her in some ways. Don't get me wrong he does show his dark side towards her as well. the chemistry between the two is so hot. I like how Dryas is beginning to figure out that what Rue has gone through is almost a form of brain washing and that he is going to have to help her to overcome everything she has been taught to believe. My heart went out of her when she had a hard time dealing with her feelings toward Dryas and felt the only way to deal with them was to punish herself. I love Dryas' protective nature towards her. this is such a wonderful second part to their story and I can not wait to see what happens next.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. We pick up where we left off, Rue running as fast as she can away from the Prince and Father Derrick, knowing what her fate will be she needs to leave, only to be caught by someone dark, evil and maniacal. Dryas is beyond happy with himself nabbing her out of the clutches of Father Derrick. Dryas and Rue’s story is gut wrenching and will pull at your heart strings. These two are more alike than they know. All he wants to do is use her to exact revenge on Father Derrick for his devious ways and taking something precious from him, not realizing the pull that Rue will have on him. Rue is naïve and is feeling things for Dryas that she shouldn’t, but she can’t help it, he’s a monster yes, but there are times when he is kind, caring and possibly loving towards her, but Rue is keeping a secret and she’s afraid if Dryas finds out the truth he won’t want her anymore, she’s there to please him in every way, do what he says, and when the truth comes out how will Dryas react? Father Derrick and the Prince are looking for her, and they will stop at nothing to get her back in the fold. Their story is twisted, dark, deliciously sexy, you will be sucked in and captivated by their world, you will be rooting for these two to overcome the obstacles that stand in their way, will Dryas prevail? Loved this book, I couldn’t put it down, highly recommend it, this is a must read for 2019!
