PAINE: A High School Enemies to Lovers Romance (Rosewood High Book 2) Kindle Edition
She was my best friend… until her family ripped mine apart.
That was the past. Or so I thought.
I tried to put Camila behind me and move on with my life.
But she’s always there: taunting me, tempting me, showing me the life I could have been living.
I should have been laughing when her own world turned upside down. After all, Karma is a bitch like that.
Instead, I find myself drawn to Camila—or in our case, forced together.
Now I have no choice but to remember the girl I’ve tried so hard to forget.
And it’s the worst kind of pain...
Camila
He was the boy next door… until he became the enemy down the hall.
He blames me, ever since his dad left.
Like I’m somehow personally responsible for his family falling apart.
I can handle his anger. His animosity even.
But I don’t know how to handle him pretending to care after he’s been more than obvious how much despises me.
When his family has no place to go, he’s under my roof and under my skin.
I wish I could make him remember how we used to be.
Before he shattered my heart with his hatred.

- Reviewed in Australia on 16 October 2020Verified PurchaseI really like this book, it’s the 2nd in the series. I really liked that it started off where the last hook left off.
Has really great main characters, I loved reading their inner monologue.
Overall a really well written book, will definitely read the next book in the series
- Reviewed in Australia on 20 February 2020I enjoyed this story moreso than Thorn. I don't think it is absolutely necessary to read Thorn but it certainly does enhance the experience and references from the previous story will make more sense. In Thorn, I was very much on the female protagonist's side rather than the male but in Paine it was the reverse. I was very much on Mason's side rather than Camilla. To me, she was a spoiled brat. Incredibly self centred and focused on how Mason's actions impacted her. She didn't consider why Mason made those choices and why he behaved the way he did. I'm not defending some of Mason's actions. He wasn't perfect but he was placed in a difficult situation. There was angst, twists and turns as well as love. Tracey Lorraine has written an engaging, suspenseful story about the trials of growing up and relationships while trying to find your place in the world.

- Reviewed in Australia on 20 February 2020I enjoyed reading this book very much. Camilla and Mason were best friends who had a massive falling out only to want to be together over the years and have finally reunited. I felt the anguish both these characters went through and how they both felt betrayed by their actions and actions of others around them. I loved reading about their journey to one another and I loved reading about their close circle of friends. I have read a few of Tracy Lorraine's books and I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Even though this is book 2 in the Rosewood series I have yet to read the first book but will definitely read that too and look forward to reading any more that my come in this series.
I received an arc copy and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
- Reviewed in Australia on 20 February 2020Paine by Tracy Lorraine is the second book in the Rosewood series and boy is it a page-turner. The book focuses on the story of Camilla and Mason who used to be childhood friends but then something happens which makes both of their lives spin out of control and puts Camilla in the cross-hairs of Mason. Family misunderstandings, communication errors and general angst seems to throw these two characters for a loop and they don’t know whether they are better as enemies or lovers.
The story is good as it tells you what has happened in the past to make these two characters the way they are. There is certainly a lot of angst and passion between the two characters and you never quite know if they are going to work out their differences in the book. Mason was a great character and just seemed to have so much going on. In one way I felt sorry for him as he tried his hardest with Camilla but she never seemed to get where he was coming from for me. Camilla was a good character but sometimes I felt like she was quite naive and trusting until things were literally shoved in her face.
There are a lot of twist and turns in this story and at point it could be quite heart-breaking as well as steamy. Characters from the first book also make an entrance and seem to pull the whole story together. The author just has a way of story-telling which is really fluid and makes you want to continue reading.
This is definitely a must-read series and I can’t wait for the next one that will hopefully be coming soon. If you like steamy, enemies to lovers, NA books then Tracy Lorraine is an author you need to be reading!
ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review 😊
- Reviewed in Australia on 21 February 2020When I started reading this book I got so invested with Mason and Camila that I couldn’t put it down. Not knowing how these two previously best friends turned enemies had me wanting more. It was obviously from the get go how much they still cared about eachother and were in denial about their feelings. Blame was placed on Camila and her family for something that was out of their control which started Masons supposed hatred. Revelations are made which brings them closer and they have no choice to confront their feelings and the past. This beautifully written book kept me on an emotional rollercoaster which I thoroughly enjoyed and would read again. This was my first book of Tracy Lorraine’s and it will not be my last. I was given this book as an arc to give my honest opinion and cannot highly recommend it enough.
- Reviewed in Australia on 23 February 2020Oh Mason 😍 you started out a bit of an a hole but you redeemed yourself. Camila and Mason were really meant to be, even after all the s*** that went down between their families. I loved how when things happened Cami stood up for Mason and had his back with everything. This is book 2 in the Rosewood High series!
I loved this book and finally getting to meet the real Mason!!
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review

5.0 out of 5 stars Teenagers Adulting
Verified PurchaseYes, there are sex scenes. Yes, they are teenagers. Moving on this is really well written. You can feel the pain, frustration and anger of both Camila and Mason. It's heartbreaking the responsibility and choices that Mason makes in order to take care of and protect his little brothers. A parent not taking responsibility and losing their way a bit. Camila experiencing and navigating a tough senior year. These are things that happen in every day life.
But thanks to Ms. Lorraine's writing talent she gives keeps your interest and gives us a HEA. This is my third book of hers and will not be the last. Looking forward to reading more of her books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely awesome book #2 💜
Verified PurchaseThis book is the second in this series the Rosewood High Series. I absolutely loved reading it and it was a fantastic follow on from Thorn. This is a real enemies to lovers story and a fantastic book.
Book #1 Thorn
Book #2 Paine
This is Mason and Camila story and after reading about them in the first book you will be desperate to read about them next. The author really made you very intrigued about them in the first book and seeing how there journey plays out.
These two had been best friends for years and told each other everything and leaned on one another too, that is until one day something happened that parted them.
Mason has had things pretty tough since his father left and he has been trying to juggle everything from school, his brothers and paying the bills, its very tough, he blames her family for it all.
Camlia has led quite a comfortable life and she has just tried to carry on without Mason and live her life but its hard for her to seeing him everyday. The thing is Cami bear has also had things tough and with the heat building between them both you will not be able to take your eyes of of them both.
I couldn't wait to read the next book in this series and I truly loved these characters. They have such a strong connection and even though he hates her he will protect her no matter what and I love that. Mason just needed someone to be there for him to understand. He is a great guy deep down and will do anything for the people he loves and I truly felt for him in parts.
I also loved seeing the old characters to and seeing how they are now is awesome. This author really knows how to write a fanatic story and brilliant characters that the reader will really connect and invest in. I was completely gripped from beginning to end and loved every minute of this book, the drama, the love and all the steam. This story really flows and I love this authors writing style and I cannot wait to get my hands on book #3 in the series and carry on at Rosewood High.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Too Shabby
Verified PurchasePart of the Rosewood High Series, this book is better than it’s predecessor. With a better storyline that actually gets you hooked, you wonder what caused the drift between the main characters and has a few twists and turns that keep the story interesting. There are a few things that happen that for me were predictable, but it does add some drama to the story. Ending leaves you interested in the next book!
