My fearlessness is just a charade. I’m a fraud, hiding behind a mask of perfection.
The captain. The leader. The Queen Bee.
None of it is real— just an elaborate masquerade.
Until he shatters my illusions and shows me that he’s not the man I expected. He’s not just the quiet one... the innocent one.
But the one to finally tear away the mask and look beneath the surface. The only one who sees me, gets me, challenges me.
He’s a life line when I’m downing, but if I’m not careful, I’ll pull us both under.
He’s already changed my life in a way I never expected. My secret could bind us or break us, but I know one thing for sure... I’ll protect it fiercely.
That’s the real me. Chelsea Fierce.
Shane
I didn’t mean to get caught up in her drama...
Right place. Wrong time. Opposites that attracted, a one night stand and desire that self-detonated.
But now that I’ve gotten a glimpse of the misunderstood girl behind the mask.
I know Chelsea’s dirty little secret.
Beneath the superficial surface lies a truth I dare not reveal. She’s a scared little girl, wielding perception as self protection.
And I know all too well about playing a part, but my driving force isn’t fear of rejection, it’s family obligation.
Living up to a famous dad and high profile football-playing brothers is its own kind of torture.
All I want is to be me. But the silence is deafening in the quiet life I desire, once I realize the other secret she’s been keeping.
Tracy Lorraine is a M/F and M/M contemporary romance author. Tracy has just turned thirty and lives in a cute Cotswold village in England with her husband, baby girl and lovable but slightly crazy dog. Having always been a bookaholic with her head stuck in her Kindle Tracy decided to try her hand at a story idea she dreamt up and hasn’t looked back since.
Fierce is the fourth book in the Rosewood High series by Tracy Lorraine. Told in dual perspectives, this story follows the lives of Chelsea and Shane. Get ready for lots of angst, drama and infinite feels!
Chelsea had it all - the beauty, the popularity, the cheer squad. But after some poor choices, this Queen B lost everything and found herself in a rehabilitation center. After weeks of therapy, she is ready to go home, make amends and reclaim her throne. But unfortunately for her, she was not welcomed back with open arms. Her road to redemption was a long one with plenty of bumps and bruises along the way.
Shane is the quiet one on the football team. Much to his father's disappointment, he is not like his brothers. He prefers to stay in the shadows rather than the limelight. They have big dreams of joining the NFL, but that's not something Shane wants. What he wants is the head cheerleader who fell from grace before being sent away. Even after everything she put him through, he still wants her, and she feels the same way, but he's not going to make things easy for her.
I absolutely loved each and every second of this book! Tracy continues to impress me with each story that she writes. She takes characters and just breathes life into them, making them all so unique. She brings her A game in Fierce. It's my new favorite of the series. The hate to love. The emotional turmoil. The steam factor. It's just perfection. Two thumbs up. Highly recommended. Definitely a one-click come release day. Five stars for Chelsea, Shane and Fierce!
Fierce is her name. Shielding her heat is her game.
FAVOURITE IN THE SERIES! I absolutely loved Chelsea and Shane’s story.
She’s the head cheerleader who’s fallen from grace. He’s the quiet good guy who about to go after what he wants.
Chelsea likes to pretend she has a heart of ice. She doesn’t let anyone get close, but after what happened she must sort out her mess.
Shane wants Chelsea even though he knows it won’t be easy to win her over.
This is a dark high school romance series, available on KU and benefits from the books being read in order. This book is full of secrets and lies. It had me hooked to every page.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, however I have KU membership.
Chelsea and Shane are an odd pair, not one I saw coming. Surprisingly, their book is one of the best in the series, even if they were boring at times.
Shane does start off by trying to be an asshole like Jake and Ethan, luckily this wears off quickly and he's back to being nice. Except in this one scene where he finds something out and he freaks out and he's back to being an ass for a bit.
This one also didn't have slut shaming directed towards other girls, just Chelsea. Which is still sad, but progress is progress. I'm pretty sure I mentioned it already, that I was wondering what the author would do now that the main character was a "slut", would she shame other girls or not? Thankfully, the latter.
Anyway, this is now the fourth book (fifth, if we count the prequel, but I wasn't counting on her showing up in that one anyway) without Stella. There's only a few left to go...watch her show up in book seven and I read all of these for nothing...
✨ "Everyone thinks I’m the quite one, the calm one, and mostly that’s true. But there’s something about her that makes me forget all that and lose my goddamn mind. " ✨
Redemption isn’t easy , but I have to say Chelsea redeemed herself in the best possible way.
At first I was a little sceptic , I don’t forgive easily myself . But I don’t know how , now Chelsea has become almost my favorite between all the girls.
She showed remorse , empathy , and a maturity I wouldn’t image ever seeing in an high school superficial cheerleader . But now, I think it’s true that some people if they really want it , they can change and became the best version of themself.
She became a strong independent woman , a real leader and somehow she softened a little.
✨“They might thing they’ve dethroned me , but they need to realize that my crown is going nowhere”✨
I was completely shocked by seeing how she and Shane just made sense together . They couldn’t be more different , polar opposite . But somehow theirs pat crossed and there was no way back.
Shane kindness and determination was a real surprise , he finally had the courage to show everyone who he really was . He took his destiny in his own hands and became the best version of himself.
The journey to an happy ending wasn’t easy for them . The walls between them were pretty high but then love happened .
✨“She might think she’s a fierce , but I’m going to prove that she has more weakness than just her need for power”✨
The chemistry between them and all the passion was palpable in every page . And the sweetness of that guy was everything .
And the way all Shane friends stood up for them , no matter what happened in the past was mind-blowing .
And also that PLOT TWIST?! I have to say I had my suspicious but reading I let it go, but then just WOW.
I’m not gonna spoiler anything , but you should definitely check out for yourself this beautiful and sweet (almost) story !
'Fierce' is the fourth novel of the 'Rosewood High' series by the best selling author Tracy Lorraine. Told in dual perspectives , this book was one amazing take of love and redemption!
There are very few authors who consider giving one of their villains a story , so I was very shocked when I got to know that Chelsea was getting her own story. But what an amazing job this author has done!! What an awe inspiring tale of redemption she has given to us. I just loved both Chelsea and Shane. Both were complete opposites and yet perfect for each other.
Chelsea was the queen bitch. No I am not kidding , she is was the literal devil in the first three books of this series and played huge role in destroying people's lives. Those who have read the first three books of this series , know what I am talking about! Her path to redemption was even more tough. After days of being rehabilitation and having a personality change, she is back in college to claim her rightful place. Part of her knows that she did horrendous things and is ready to get forgiveness from those people.
The starting of this book was rough. Chelsea was totally alone and was kicked out of her cheering squad. My heart hurt for her even though I knew that she deserved a bit of it. Then there was Shane. He was the perfect boy next door. The calm and hot one. Like total opposite of Chelsea. They both had a memorable night together before Chelsea went away and sort of gravitated towards each other. There were parts of this book that were a bit shocking for me. Shane was not the quiet boy we saw in the first three books , he was rather an asshole sometimes which made the book even more hot!!
I loved the way Chelsea slowly asked and got forgiveness from everybody because she truly deserved it! The ending of this book was perfection and had me begging for more! I am so happy that there will be other books in this series too!!! Soon!! Can't wait!
This book , in fact this whole series is a serious recommendation to all the dark high school romance lovers out there! Each book is better than the rest and you won't be able to stop reading until you are done with all of them!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fierce is the fourth book in the Rosewood series and I think this may be my favourite one yet. An enemies-to-lovers romance with an utterly sweet male hero and a heroine hiding behind a well-constructed façade. It was very different to the previous book theme wise. This wasn’t centred as much on revenge, but more on opposites attract.
I still haven’t gotten around to reading the first two books in the Rosewood series where Chelsea is first introduced but from the little snippets of her character that were mentioned throughout the last book, I wasn’t too wrapped in her at all. Intrigued and curious of course, but I must admit it took me a while to warm up to her. But the further the book went on, the more I grew to like her and understand her reasonings behind her actions. I mean I didn’t agree with nor excuse her of the choices she made but I admired that she acknowledged them, felt regret towards them and apologised.
I am a lover of happy endings and epilogues and Shane and Chelsea’s…sigh. It left me a very happy girl.
Super excited to read Zayn and Poppy’s story next.
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
did i stay up reading until 6am? yep. this book was so cute and exactly what i needed rn. this book had me laughing out loud, swooning, and let’s not forget their sexy scenes, bc ohmy. also, i had forgotten how much i love ethan and rae, they make me laugh like no others. NOW ON TO THE NEXT ONE.
Fierce is the fourth book by Tracy Lorraine in the Rosewood High series. Like everyone else, we’ve been waiting for Chelsea’s story and boy is it a story. If you have followed the rest of the series, you’d know that Chelsea is the Queen B of Rosewood High and after doing some pretty shady and dangerous things, she has completely fallen off her pedestal and although she is trying to make everything right, it isn’t going to be that easy and she has a lot to prove, not only to herself but also to Shane, her long time crush.
Shane also hasn’t had it easy, being the quiet one, he is often overlooked, but as we get more into his story we see what he has gone through and is going through to keep his head above water. He has intense feelings for Chelsea (which are reciprocated), but there is also a lot of drama between the two of them regarding their past, present and future.
There are certainly moments in this book which are hard to read, there’s a lot of miscommunication, harsh words and errors on both of the characters parts. Yet the resounding part of this story is all about forgiveness i.e. forgiving yourself for things you may have done and reinventing yourself into becoming a better person, no matter how hard that may seem.
Secondary characters from the previous books in this series pop up and really help to make the story more whole and believable and make the main characters look hard at themselves, especially since most of this book becomes a battle between Chelsea and Shane fighting their feelings for each other whilst slinging some pretty cruel things backwards and forwards.
Fans of this series will love this book, it has enough emotional angst, steamy scenes and witty lines by Rae to keep you turning the page!
ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review 😊
Beyond my expectations and it quickly became my favourite book in the series. I have no words, it went from me not wanting to read about her story to me not being able to put I down but also dragging it out as much as possible.
This book is fantastic and my heart when through so many different emotions a didn’t now where to begin.
*3.7 stars I enjoyed the romance aspect of this story a lot!! Really liked how the relationship progressed. There were some things that happened in the book that were kinda unbelievable and some cliches for sure but still super cute.
When I asked to receive an ARC (Advanced Reading Copy) of this book, I tought that I could read it without having read the previous three of the serie. Altough it can easily be read as a stand alone, we always miss some information that about all the characters and their backgrounds. I will definitly read all of them.
Chelsea is, indeed, a force of nature. She is strong in a way that not many girls at that age can be. She has a traumatic childhood, but, also has the amazing luck to be adopted and raised by a father and a mother that are one of a kind. Since the day that they adopted her, she has been all that they care about. However, doesn 't have a nice background as a teenager. She's the captain of the cheerleaders squad and, since day one on that school, she adopted a mean and arrogant personality. She hides her real being, her real feelings from everyone that she knows and becomes an arrogant bitch (sorry my harsh words). All students in that school thinks that she's a slut because she gives all and each one of them the idea that she is. After a really bad thing that she had done to a fellow student, just because the guy she wanted didn't want her, her parents decide to send her to a rehabilitation center for young people. A way to correct and make her see that the way that she is caring her own life isn't the right way to do it. We could say that she had it all until that little stunt that she pulled out, just because things didn't go the way she wanted. Or, we might also say that she didn't really know what she wanted. She thought she wanted popularity, the cheerleading and the bad boy. But then, a quiet guy, old friend, in fact, the one that always was there for here, although she always pushed him away, came by and we can say that he blew her mind away. After the rehabilitation, Chelsea returns home and returns to school, were everybody hated her for what she'd done and the welcoming was even worse that she was expecting. All of her squad turned backs to her and all of her so called friends did the same. Even Shane. The quiet and reliable Shane. I must say that liking Chelsea is a tough task, because she really is a girl with a lot of rage and bad toughts in her mind. But she also has a good heart deep down and a good soul. You just have to know how to reach it and how to deal with her. It's a story full of hot and emotional situations, but also has very deep lessons that many, many teenagers nowadays should learn. To bully someone doesn't make you stronger or popular, it just makes you mean, hated and lonely. Chelsea needed someone like Shane to show her that she was really fierce and strong but also a person that has to look after others. My favourite character in this book? Rae and Ethan, The couple that also had her back no matter what. Shane at some point became one of my favourite male characters. He is sensible, kind and trully good person that only wants to be noted by the only girl that he really should be as far as he could. But the heart wants what the heart wants, right?
Two very different people, two interconnecting stories. One looking for redemption, the other looking for retribution. Fierce is Lorraine's most emotional Rosewood story yet. Chelsea and Shane will run you through the emotional wringer before the very end, guaranteed.
Forgiveness is a powerful weapon in our emotional arsenal. It has the strength to heal, the power to mend wounds, or it also has the ability to create guilt within our soul for the things we've done and feel we can never be forgiven for.
Chelsea Fierce is not only fierce in name, but also in returning to the scene of her crimes. To the very school where she treated so many horribly, drugged fellow students, and let others take the fall for her crimes. She's not all bad, she did see the error of her ways before someone truly got hurt and sought counseling and wants to make amends for her wicked ways. Honestly, she is more mature than many adults I know at an older age. Everyone should have a second chance to redeem themselves and Chelsea's story will touch your heart.
Shane Dunn hasn't exactly had an easy road at Rosewood High. While being part of the football team and having a father who was in the NFL, Shane would seem like a popular guy, and he is for the most part, but he didn't crave the limelight. He's actually shy and prefers the shadows, which is how he ended up taking the fall for Chelsea's crimes. Living with the villain rap, when he's actually a good guy messed with his head. Add in the crush he had on Chelsea and being unable to confront her when she took off, Shane has had eight weeks of pent up frustration just waiting to explode when Chelsea reappears. Shane is ready to collect his pound of flesh from the girl who messed up his life and he isn't going to let her run away again.
As much as these two seem like an unlikely duo, they also scream a perfect match every time they meet up. You almost wonder how you didn't see it before because they are so explosive together. They are raw and unforgiving, but also so real with one another they don't realize how emotional it all is and how deep everything goes because of all bubbling and sizzling emotions brewing between them.
Chelsea allows Shane to take what he wants. She knows the damage she's done to his life, but she also wants him on a personal level even though he hates her. Each time though she tells herself it's the last because the confusion is messing with her head, but she can't seem to stop herself when he's around.
Shane is the same. He can't stop the mean and hateful things that spill from his mouth, but he also can't stop from seeking her out. She's like a drug that he can't stop from taking and he constantly needs another hit.
Even with these two battling it out, there is more to the story than just them alone. Family and friends all play a role making Fierce powerful, moving, and one of Lorraine's best books to date.
Wow. Tracy did the unthinkable and completely redeemed Chelsea in my eyes. Not only that but she made me feel all kind of things for that broke girl. I found myself crying for/with her so many times.
Chelsea really had me all kinds of emotional. Her story and what she had just been and was going through was a lot. Although I wish we had learned more about her past and just how that had messed her up to drive her into doing the messed up things she did, I feel like what we got was already enough to understand how messed up and lonely she was.
Shane, oh man. Although he really tried to hate Chelsea and be a total d*ck to her, in the end he just couldn't keep it up. He was a sweet guy through and through and he loved Chelsea. These two were so cute together, it really was meant to be.
Tracy also made me love this group of friends even more. I loved how no matter how much Chelsea had messed up with most of them, they still stood by her and took her in. Well, except Cami, she was kind of a major b*tch. I love how Rae and Chelsea became friends so fast and Chelsea finally found a real girl friendship. And I loved how close she and Leo, Shane's brother, were. That guy was a great friend.
Fierce was another amazing book in the Rosewood High world. Chelsea and Shane completely took me by surprise in the best way. There were a few surprises in their book and it just all made it a great read. These two were meant to be. They were sexy, emotional and just so sweet. I dare say they might be my new fav couple.
➳ARC kindly provided by author, in exchange for an honest review.
Every time I read a new Rosewood High book, I love the series more and more!! Tracy Lorraine does such a phenomenal job on these books in this series. I am left speechless every time. I fully love the writing style for these books. They capture so much intensity in the emotions throughout the whole thing.
This book holds so many emotions right off the bat. The intensity and excitement instantly draws you in. Fierce is the prime definition of a page turner.
The characters in this book were hands down amazing. The hero and heroine were so strong. Shane, the hero, he is dealing with the outcome of being blamed for something he didn't do. At the same time he has the pressure of his father who is constantly telling him how he should live his life. I always liked Shane's character from the beginning of the series and after this book that it has just grown. He is such a strong character, shows he has a different side, and is just an all around proven to be a strong character. I would find it hard if you don't fall in love with him after this book. Chelsea, the heroine, has made many mistakes that she has to deal with the blow back of those mistakes. The entire time she knows how strong she is and doesn't back down, even when life is hard and she is being torn down and tramped on. To me, she is one of my favorite heroines. The growth that she goes through to redeem herself and overcome the struggles she has dealt with is just amazing. I felt so many emotions reading her characters because I felt I related so much to her. The girl who just wants to fit in and be popular. I think if an author can pull those emotions out of you for something like that them it is just a phenomenal book. Then Shane and Chelsea together, are great. There is such a push and pull that draws you in. They are steamy as steamy can be.
I enjoyed being able to see the other characters from the series interacting with Shane and Chelsea. They develop strong relationships with the other characters and it shows that just because you wear different clothes or look different doesn't mean you can't be great friends. The banter with them all is one of my favorite things. The guys in this series definitely can give you a good laugh.
I love this book just like I love all the other Rosewood books. This book shows exactly what kids feel and go through during high school. This book held some strong life lessons that kids can learn for when they are in high school. I strongly recommend this book for everyone. I love this world and I love this series so much, its one of my favorites!! If Rosewood High was an actual place, I would definitely be moving to go live there because I just can't get enough of this world. I can't wait for the next book in the series!!
Chelsea is back and no is happy about it. She made her bed and she accepts that but she isn't going to back down at all. She is ready to fight for what she wants, to get her squad back, finish school and get the one man that she never realized was her perfect match.
As soon as we found out that Chelsea was the h in this book I was worried. She made me stabby and I didn't see how she could be redeemed. Well I was proven wrong. By 20% in I was in love with her and was wholeheartedly rooting for her. This girl is so much deeper and complex than she led everyone to believe. And the H, bless his broken little heart, but boy did I want to smack him a lot in this book. Boy pull your head out of your you-know-what! I get it though, he was burned one to many times by her and it was hard to trust her again even though every fiber of his being wanted to. I am obsessed with these two. I really wish that there was more to their story. I would love to see a novella of them four years from now. Gah - Rosewood High is one of my top series. I cannot get enough of these guys. I really recommend that you read Fierce. Won't regret it.
Fierce is the 4th book in the Rosewood High series . You finally get the mean girls story!
Chelsea comes home from a little "break" as her parents like to call it after the events that take place in books 1-3
The mean girl who always tries to be center of attention isn't so mean anymore an had time to reflect on all those terrible things she did before she was sent away .. . She goes to apologise to Shane first and foremost only to be side swiped by his coldness . Shane isn't the sweet boy she knew before she left .
This story was amazing You find out why Chelsea was always so mean an evil to the others . You got the glimpse into her past and current life for why the way she was . Throw Shane into the mix and you got yourself an emotional love story where both MCs try to push each other away only to have a little twist thrown in halfway to the middle..
I'm glad she finally got her story and I loved every single page .
The more I read about this crowd, the more I love it! I absolutely love seeing couples from previous books still playing a huge role in the books that follows.
I wasn't very fond of Chelsea, up until now. Now I love the girl. Shane was always the quiet one, always the one in the background. And now that I got to know him... Why, hello there!
Chelsea has a secret, a big one! She's amazing about it, she's staying true to herself, she respects herself and she's loving her new changed self. But this secret has to be revealed and she's not completely sure if she's ready for the outcome.
Each book is so good and you won't be able to stop reading until you are done with all of them! An amazing dark high school romance series!
I keep saying this, but this is the best one in the series. Firstly, Fierce was written so differently than the other books. It was still enemies to lovers but they had a relationship before the book started, and we picked up during the aftermath. Most of my comments revolve around Shane completely reinventing his personality. For the last 3 books, he's been the "nice guy", the "golden retriever boy." And now surprise.... he's an asshole just like the rest of them -_- Instead of character development he had character undevelopment for no logical reason. He turned into a total jerk, said horrible things to Chelsea, and frankly treated her horribly. Plus Mr. Nice guy started drinking to cope with he NEVER did before which begs the question, can Tracy Lorraine write a character different from the brooding bad boy borderline rapist with a small case of alcoholism? Cuz all of her male characters are the same, except for Shane, but not anymoreeeee bitches. Why Tracy, why? We liked him. Moving onto Chelsea, my baby. Oh this poor sweet girl didn't deserve anything she got. Actually nvm she definitely did. Miss girl really spiked not one but TWO peoples drinks. Which is fine honestly she went to therapy and repented and then everyone ostracized her anyway which is understandable but annoying. This poor girl just wants to have real friends and go back to her cheer team and finish high school. then BAM shes preggo but who's the father?? Shane, because apparently Chelsea isn't a hoe like everyone though plot twisttt. And then when Shane finds out he calls her a whore and he's like it's probably not even mine. I mean damn boi she's the mother of your child but sure rip her to shreds. Anyway I appreciated that this book had a different plot then that of the last three books. It focused less on their toxic relationship and more on real world problems. Despite the obvious flaws with this book I still loved it like i did the others because as my aunt so eloquently put it ✨drama✨
The writing was nice, very easy to read and follow. The storyline flowed so well with lots of interesting details and events, never a dull moment. I was so invested that I couldn’t stop reading, even when my eyes were begging me to just close them for a bit and go to bed. I think at some points, I read this with one eye opened and one eye closed lmao.
Anyway, the chemistry between Shane and Chelsea was amazing. Love their relationship development, so angsty, sizzling hot that got me panting and fanning myself, my ass was on fire, sheesh, but at the same time, I was squealing and giggling crazy because of how cute and awkward they were.
Idk, I have this issue where I can’t read different books about different couples, in which they all have this kind of close relationship or relate to each other, I can’t. Once the book I’m reading mentions the couple, any of them or both, I’ve read before, I’m out. Idk it just feels so weird that I can’t bear to bring myself to it.
So you know it pained me a lot to go back and do a quick check on those previous books to catch up with their background stories. Obviously, I could choose not to and dive into this blindly. But thank god I did because only then, I could truly understand about their relationship, their chemistry, the dynamics between characters, the mains and the side ones as well,… Everything, then, made so much more sense and their relationship and interactions became so much more meaningful and cherished.
Karma’s sure a bitch and I was so glad that they finally got what they deserved and found each other in between. Felt and shredded a few tears here and there for my babies.
Overall, I really enjoyed this and had such a great time, just exactly what I need and have been looking for. 10/10 totally recommend!!
Chelsea and Shane are like double sided tape. One side always hidden but the one exposed is messy and only part of what the world sees.
Shane and Chelsea are fighting battles internally but these two are about to expose their hands to each other and let the cards fall as they may.
This one took twists that I couldn't have guessed. I'm surprised my heart is still whole. I felt for them. They are not perfect but for their young ages they are dealing with the kinds you wouldn't want to think about.
Games, young drama, adult drama, family, true friends, self discovery and how one night can put your car on a course to drive you to a future you want and not what others think it should be. Tell me that you are not curious to get to know the mean girl who gets a flipped script and a quiet man who finds his inner voice. Curious????!!!!
Definitely worth the abc's your heart, body and soul will feel as you peel back the tape and see who Shane and Chelsea really are. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
What an exhilarating experience it was reading Chelsea and Shane's story! They were both a little lost and slightly worse for wear, but somehow they find comfort in each other on their journey. I am loving the Rosewood High Series and I highly recommend reading them all. Fierce by Tracy Lorraine is an EPIC read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
Arc in exchange for an honest review. Mean girl redemption is my FAVOURITE trope and being able books that use this trope is honestly so rare! I loved the fact that we got a mean girl vs a sweet boy, it's such a different and unique read to normal and Chelsea and Shane completely blew away all of my expectations!
Chelsea completely surprised me and I was so glad she got the redemption she deserved, I was so shocked by what we found behind all those walls that she built, but it just made me love her all that more!
Shane was so kind and so sensitive, he got rid of that view I held over him from the first book and his love for Chelsea was so beautiful.
That shock twist surprised me so much, but I loved it - it was just right for both of them! I am unashamed to admit that I cried at the end of this beautiful story because it was just right.
I loved the other characters being in it to, Rae and Chelsea's friendship was amazing and so unexpected I love both her and Ethan throughout this. I didn't like Camila, but Mason was a sweetie and Jake and Amalie were amazing too.
I am so excited to be able to buy this in paperback form when it comes out, I need to hold this babies in my hand! I am also so excited for Zayn's story next and for his heroine.
Everyone needs to start this series and get to this book, my favourite by far! It comes out 20th August, make sure you pick it up!
This is Chelsea and Shane's story. I love this series. In this book we get Chelsea's background and find out why she did the things she did in the previous books, we also get more of Shane's life and how his dad keeps pushing him to follow in his footsteps and go into the NFL even though he doesn't want to. Shane and Chelsea have know each other since they were young their mothers are best friend's and he has always had a crush on her but she always ignored him until one night and then she disappeared for a while. When she comes back he is angry and pissed but still has feelings for her. Chelsea brings out a side of Shane that you wouldn't expect from him. Chelsea was always chasing after the unattainable, but that one night with Shane and her sabbatical makes her think things differently. Now she's back and she tries to make amends for her actions and try to prove she's changed but she is still keeping a secret. I really enjoyed this and couldn't put it down. We get a glimpse of the previous characters and a little glimpse into the next couple in the series. Can't wait to read more. I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
I also listened to the audio. Love the narrators tell this story.
I’ve loved Shane in the previous Rosewood books, he’s the good boy, so gentle, sweet and nice and Chelsea has always been showed as the bad girl, head cheerleader who takes things to the extreme when she doesn’t get the guy.
After sharing something together, before Chelsea leaves, when she returns the sweet boy she knew is replaced with one full of anger and hate towards her.
Absolutely loved reading about how the tables turn, how they fight their feelings, how the connection strengthens and the chemistry burns strong.
Did not see that twist coming, but couldn’t be more perfect for these 2. They are absolutely adorable together.
Love how they all interconnect, the new friendships and old ones strengthening. Chelsea’s and Rae’s friendship is cute. Amalie and Jake are amazing. Ethans just Ethan 🤣.
Loving this series, and this fourth book is about none other than queen bee herself Chelsea fierce and what led her to be the person she was and how getting the help she needed, only when she returns she carrying a secret and there's only one person she needs to tell but like all things nothing goes to plan and the one person she thought she could rely on as just totally told her to get lost, will Chelsea get what she deserve or will she prove that she change and wants to redeem herself for the things that she done and get guy she been pinning for while she was away, I was looking forward to this story of Chelsea and Shane story and I was not disappointed, a very good read, can't wait for more.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Now I am going to be honest, when I finished Savage, I expected the next book in the series to be Chelsea’s and I wasn’t too keen on the idea. She was one of the villains in the first three books and I disliked her and how she had treated the three couples who I loved. So, when the arc of Fierce dropped onto my kindle, I put off reading it for as long as possible, but now I am done, I wish I’d read it sooner, because I think Chelsea and Shane have shot straight to the top of my list of favourite couples from this series.
Chelsea Fierce has done a lot of regrettable things, she has treated others badly, manipulated and betrayed those around her and has caused so many problems that she’s disliked by most. After her actions at the end of Savage, she is shipped off to learn better and Fierce picks up when she returns to Rosewood. She has learnt from her mistakes, she has stripped herself of the bitchy popular attitude she gave off, leaving behind the lost and troubled girl underneath, who has had a lot to deal with growing up which many don’t know about. Shane Dunn has always had a thing for Chelsea, but has never acted on it until one night, which he was happy to repeat until secrets were revealed about Chelsea’s actions. Looking to find out the truth, and get revenge if need be, he tries to find her when she’s away, so when she returns, he confronts her and they begin this back and forth of arguments and sexual tension you could cut with a knife. But when Shane realises the girl, he thought he knew is the girl underneath the façade, they quickly fall hard for one another, especially when Chelsea starts revealing more about her past. But Chelsea is hiding one last secrets, one which will change her and Shane’s life forever. How will Shane react when he finds out? When someone from Chelsea’s past reappears, will it push her right back to her old ways?
I think my favourite thing about Fierce was Chelsea’s redemption. She was unlikable in the first few books of the Rosewood series, she was the perfect enemy, the popular pretty cheerleader who slept with all the football team. But underneath that mask she was so lost, she had such a troubled childhood which had stayed with her into her teens, causing her to act out and hurt those around her. She was so desperate to be loved, to form meaningful relationships, but she didn’t know how, and in trying to be liked, just alienated herself further. I thought Tracy wrote her growing maturity amazingly, Chelsea’s struggles and how she too almost couldn’t believe her own actions. Tracy portrayed her growth as a person, from a bratty teenager to a young adult brilliantly, and was one of the highlights of the plot for me. Chelsea was completely different to how I expected her to be, and as much as I loved the previous heroines in this series, Chelsea was definitely my favourite. She was strong, independent, she didn’t let anyone dictate to her what she could and couldn’t do but knew when to admit she was wrong and apologise. She felt genuine remorse for the hurt she caused others and showed them consistently that she had turned over a new leaf, redeeming herself. Her relationship with Shane got off to a rocky start, because she was so unused to having someone other than her parents truly care for her, but he fought and stood his ground, showing her that he would always be there for her. As a couple, their heat was through the roof and I loved how they leaned on each other through difficult times, never wavering once everything was out in the open.
Shane had his own stuff going on, his father pushing him to pursue football as a career when he wanted the complete opposite. He wanted his own life, not the one his father wanted, and that included Chelsea. When she returned, he believed she was this vile manipulator like everyone else did, but deep down he knew that she wasn’t, that the real Chelsea was the girl he’d gotten to know over the years, and the one he spent the night with. But he knew that he must fight to get that Chelsea, because she only let the ones she trusted see that side of her. He was so protective and loving towards her, as much as he tried at the beginning to tell himself he hated her because of how her actions had backfired onto him, he couldn’t, because deep down he knew she was lost and needed to find her way. That’s not to say that he didn’t make her work for it, it took a while for Chelsea to see that Shane really loved her and had forgiven her for her past. However, once he knew the truth, he was all in and knew that she would be part of his life always. I also loved his friendship with the team, he had seemed very much like an outsider in the other books, so I enjoyed seeing him be enveloped into the group and become one of them in Fierce.
It was nice to see the other couples too and how they were going after their HEA. It’s hard to believe that these four books all occur during the first half of their senior year of high school, they all seem a lot older, but I am intrigued as to what other secondary characters will be finding their other halves in the second semester.
Overall, Fierce was so much better than I expected, Chelsea and Shane have a bumpy road to ending up together, with so many forces trying to keep them apart, but ultimately their love wins out and they prove that you should never jump to conclusions before you know the whole story. A must read in the Rosewood series!
