Instincts are all we have to rely on. And mine were spot on.
There are a few things I don’t like to talk about in life. My father. And Kansas. I hate him, and I hate that godforsaken state. To this day, I haven’t loved because there’s a fear. An inkling. An instinct that I will be just like him. I convinced myself our blood was rotten, tainted, and sour. I believe I didn’t have the ability to be faithful or loyal. But then after a blizzard, a sailboat washed to shore.
And she was there. She’s here at the clubhouse now. Violet Winston. A name that matches the fields of lavender of her eyes. I have no right to want her. I can’t love her. I’ll ruin her. The more I get to know her, the harder I fall. Usually, there’s a calm after the storm. But not this time...Between her father being a drug dealer. The drugs hidden in the boat. And the man that wants his drugs. We are about to feel the havoc of a hurricane. Truths hit us out of nowhere and they hurt worse than a lie ever did. Love tests us and rips us open. Friendships are lost. Loyalty is damned.
I’m not in Kansas anymore. But Jersey hurts just the same.
The second in the Atlanta Ruthless Kings MC spin-off series, Kansas is an engaging and suspenseful romance! We’re treated to an extended prologue, where we get to find out just how Kansas got his road name. We met Violet at the end of the first instalment in this series, and her backstory is quite tragic and compelling. This book has a solid romance, as others in the series, but I particularly loved the personal growth that Kansas has over the course of the book. I can’t say much at risk of spoiling it, but his character arc ties in perfectly to his backstory, and he transforms into someone worthy of the love of a woman like Violet. Four stars!
I know I say this with every new release from this amazing duo, but these books truly just keep getting better and better! My goodness, it's almost unfair how obsessed I am with this series, lol, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
The prologues of these books always guts me, and this book is no exception. Though it's not an in-your-face, overwhelming and heartbreaking abuse, it's still heartbreak at the same time. Especially when you realize the person you've looked up to your entire life is nothing but a lie. So I definitely felt Kansas's pain (and as someone who lives in Kansas, I love that road name so much! Even though it came from a place of contempt/pain.) Anyways, Amos -which is Kansas's real name- is still dealing with the fallout of his family sixteen years prior, and definitely has his armor up against making any more emotional entanglements, outside of his brothers, yet at the same time he's still so hopeful for love. He's every contradiction under the sun, but above all us, he is seriously the KINDEST MC man I have ever had the pleasure reading! He is essentially Boomer's right hand man with this Atlantic chapter, and he will stop at nothing to protect the club and his family, but that's easier said than done. Especially since Wolf is still drowning in his own grief, and the surprise arrival of three sisters who just might put the entire club in jeopardy.
I loved Violent so, so much. She and her sisters are dealing with the fact that their parents were not only killed at sea, but when they washed up to the shore where the MC saved them, there were drugs on the boat that could have some serious ramifications for everyone involved. However, the intense connection between Amos and Violet right off the bat is so beautiful, and Violent instantly felt safe with him. Their relationship is hands down one of my favorite these authors have ever written! They are both so in love with each other, and even though they have such strong feelings for each other right away, they take the time before they truly act on it which I loved! That only made their relationship that much stronger! They both have their insecurities of course, and because Amos doesn't want to repeat the mistakes of his family, he is always making sure that Violent is protected, even if that means protecting her from him. *cue all the emotions!*
Also, the heat in this book is out of this WORLD. And just know that Amos has big dick energy for a reason. *winks*
There is so much I want to say, but just know that this series is absolutely captivating! The entire ensemble of characters is absolutely heartwarming and I can't wait to learn more about them! The suspense was so cleverly done, and I honestly didn't see one aspect coming, but I loved it all the same! I can't wait for more in this already brilliant series!
I do recommend reading this series in order so you understand everything, so you really do need to read Boomer's Rise before reading this book. But I promise you that you will love every book these two women write!
**I received an arc of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
This book took me by surprise. The author knows how to manipulate expectations for sure. When you get a big tattooed biker as the alpha male in a story, do you see him as being quite adventurous in bed? I didn’t. At least, not like that. And I loved it.
I felt that this book was the most erotic I’d read from the author in a while. To the point that this aspect of the story took precedence over the suspense, and even the club’s dynamics. The ‘teach the virgin’ part of the story took a lot of space.
But romance wasn’t dead. Kansas used some old fashioned tricks to seduce Violet. He was a romantic at heart, and it was kind of adorable. This little woman had such an impact on the big bad boy! Even more interesting, Kansas’s violent side wasn’t ignored. Though The Wizard of Oz made more than one appearance due to the heroe’s road name, the story had more in common with Beauty and the Beast.
The suspense and the mystery were relegated to the very last part of the book–with a twist I didn’t see coming. It was a bit frustrating, because the arrival of Violet and her sisters at the end of the previous book was already quite a mystery, and it felt like, for a while, nobody cared who they were, where they came from. And what about the drugs they were found with?
The club’s members were also mostly reduced to some antics. Of course, it’s still the very beginning of this new series, and the reader needs to get acquainted with the various characters. The couple of plot lines started in the first book were continued–Homer and his lady friend, Wolf grieving Abigale’s death, Alicia’s violent husband. Some hints for the next books are offered too, promising even more twisted romances.
The main couple was interesting; their relationship unexpected and arousing. With a few plot lines suggested that will make the series a good one, this book was one of the best I’ve read.
Quickie
- Series: Ruthless Kings MC Atlantic City #2 (can be read as a standalone) - Hashtags: #MC romance #romantic suspense #instalove #virgin - Triggers: explicit torture and death, cheating, serious illness, violent car accident, murder attempt - Main couple: Violet Winston & Kansas - Hotness: 5/5 - Romance: 4/5 - + Kansas knows how to pleasure himself, hot! - – the other characters were a bit too gimmick-y
I really liked Kansas, his past, his respect and love for women's and how he toke care of his mom. I liked how he and Violet meet. It was sweet, how they connected, but at the same time after that i didn't like how the author kind of rushed things that were important and others that weren't were discussed more . We had so many thing happening at the same time but i felt left out, they were all throw in and done with it in a sec, more telling than showing. I didn't appreciated that. This one could've been better, it had potential. Hopefully next one, that it's about Wolf will not be as rushed.
KANSAS is the second instalment in KL Savage’s contemporary, adult RUTHLESS KINGS MC: ATLANTIC CITY erotic, MC, romance series-a spin off from the author’s Ruthless Kings MC. This is Sargent at Arms Amos ‘Kansas’ Taylor, and twenty-two year old Violet Winston’s story line. KANSAS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines and series is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Violet and Kansas) KANSAS follows in the wake of a storm and a boating accident that left Violet Winston, and her two sisters Veronica and Victoria fighting for their lives. Rescued by the Ruthless Kings MC: Atlantic City chapter, Violet finds herself falling for their Sargent At Arms, Kansas Taylor, a man whose own secrets run dangerous and deep. As Violet and her sisters begin to heal, secrets are revealed, forcing Violet to reconsider everything she thought she knew, including a possible connection to the Irish mob. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Kansas and Violet, and the potential fall-out as Violet is targeted, threatening the growing love between our leading couple.
Amos ‘Kansas’ Taylor knows betrayal first hand but our hero never expected to fall in love until meeting Violet Winston, the woman who now controls his heart but someone is after our story line heroine, and the MC believe the connections lead back to the Irish mob. Violet Winston finds herself both mother and father to her young sisters in the wake of their parents death but our heroine struggles with Veronica’s attitude, and the need to protect the man that she loves
The relationship between Kansas and Violet is one of immediate attraction from the moment Kansas rescues Violet in the storm. Feeling responsible for her life, and ultimately her future, Kansas quickly fall for our story line heroine, a fall that is about to place her in the direct line of fire. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.
We are introduced to Violet’s sisters Veronica and Victoria; Kansas’ parents ; his best friend Nigel; and Lorcan O’Crowely, head of the Irish Mob. Several members of the Ruthless Kings MC: Atlantic City play secondary and supporting roles including MC President Boomer and Scarlett , One-Eye, Arrow, Wolf, Pulse, Decay, Colt, Warden and Bane.
KANSAS is a story of family, betrayal, secrets and lies; acceptance, love and moving forward. The premise is heart breaking, engaging and captivating; the romance is seductive and energetic; the characters are colorful and charismatic.
OH My! I was excited to see what all Kansas went through and the why and the hows of the way he is. I just did not realize that it was like this. It broke my heart at the beginning and I am so floored at this point. making it through this book had me seeing Kansas with new eyes and really that is what it is. He has been mysteriously in the foreground from the first book until that twist, that was really good! Violet is a beautiful soul, she is purposeful and deliberate. After the twist that is in this one its like there is a god above, and he loves the good ones! I absolutely LOVE this series! Ya'll do some wonderfully satisfying steamy in a whole "I want some of that cream" scrumptially delicious stories! heaven help us because these ladies are in for the long haul!!! Our hearts are going to get ripped from our chest and the rules are going to change it is coming and I am not sure I am ready for the hit! It shows in their musings and dedication to the development of the under lining. Incredibly brilliant and it is remarkable! it flows very smoothly. No jaggedness at all! I got to tell ya though you have my heart on the floor, I know it IS NOT all roses and champagne (Cuz these men and women are the best developed and written characters I have read in A LONG TIME!!! This honestly would make great Television! Yeah! It so would! 3 episodes per book... or make them into movies! Oh gosh let me stop! No seriously though! These amazing beautiful talented authors have graced us with an amazing story! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I would definitely watch it and I might be right when I say so would A LOT of others!
Oh my stars. Is it bad of me to say that I am LIVING for how the Atlantic City chapter is going even though I adore the Las Vegas one too? Kansas’ story takes on a ride of broken trust not just with him but also with Violet. The level of depth to the raw emotion flowing through both of them is so intense that my heart ached so much. With every little twist and turn, things get more complicated but the emotions that these two feel towards each other never waiver! I love how Violet accepted Kansas, especially in the naughty ways but also the baggage he carried with him. I have to say, I was utterly blown away by the ending of this one. It was completely unexpected and threw me for such a loop that my jaw dropped and I was asking myself if that really happened. Savage really brought the pow with this one. I am so looking forward to more and hopefully the day my man Saytr gets his own story!
Sometimes you don't forgive to make them feel better but to make yourself better just like family is what you make of it. This is Kansas and Violet's story.
I'm going to have to say I didn't see that coming.... I'm not surprised but, WOW that was weird. Yeah there's a few of those moments in this book but it's a good WOW and a good weird. Am I making any sense?
You'll just have to read it yourself to understand... I am loving all these spin off mini series.
Brilliant! I really enjoy how these books pan out, there is plenty of juicy plot to get your teeth in, great lovable characters and a whole array of emotions. I end up laughing, crying and chewing my fingers off in suspense all within moments. I simply inhaled this book. I would say there are just a few typos but they did not detract from the book. I look forward to more books in this world.
Kansas’ past from an early age has shaped his future. When he meets Violet and her shipwrecked sisters his whole perspective changes. Now he wants to be a better man, more worthy of Violet but he still thinks it won’t work. Violet and her sisters survived being shipwrecked off the coast of Atlantic City beach when their parents didn’t. The only snag aside from Violet being beat to heck by the rough seas and suffering hypothermia her parents boat was transporting illegal drugs onboard. This shattered her and her sisters perspective of their parents. Violet is drawn to Kansas just as much as he is drawn to her. They can’t stay away from each other. A blast from Kansas’ past shows up wreaking havoc on Violet and his relationship. Will he be able to protect Violet from this newest threat?
Fate and karma can be fickle creatures. They can be a blessing and a curse.
Kansas has to come to terms with so much at such a young age, and that has him scared to believe that he is worthy of what life has given him. He has been given a new life and a new chance under Boomer's leadership of the AC Kings.
Violet and her sisters were introduced at the end of Boomer's Rise. She has the task of rebuilding their lives from scratch. The instant pull she feels towards Kansas has her hoping that they can make a fresh start.
Oh K.L., you know how to pull the reader in, and have us hanging on for dear life. Kansas gave me laughter, tears goosebumps and on the edge of my seat waiting for it to be ripped from underneath me.
Kansas is the follow up to Boomers Rise, picking up where things left off, doors are opened and we get more insight into some of the other characters, with this being Amos Taylor aka Kansas’s book.
We get to see that Kansas is slightly different to some of the other Kings we’ve grown to know and love over time, not in a bad way, he’s just.. well.. you’ll understand what I’m saying once you start getting to know him more yourself and that’s exactly what happens from the start of this book, we get to know the man behind the name. In recent years Kansas himself has endured some trauma, but this book begins way before that, 16yrs to be precise clueing us readers in with the details which have led him towards being the loyal and caring man that he is today, not just with the females in his life but his brothers too.
Speaking of females, Violet the female lead is thrust into a whole new way of family dynamics and environment as she comes to terms with recent tragic events, there may be many tears at first but we get to know her as this strong young woman who compliments Kansas in many ways, making both him and us readers believe in there being such a thing as soulmates, that one true love.
The pair share such an intense connection, with the chemistry being off the charts paving the way for some seriously hot sexual encounters. The couple both have their share of drama in this book, with more of a dangerous edge to it for Violet, however it all works out in the end leaving the way clear for any upcoming adventures of the Ruthless Kings. Atlantic city MC.
Here we go again! Kansas brings us right back to Atlantic City and his book is INCREDIBLE!!! I absolutely am in love with him and his book!
Kansas is polite, sweet, a gentleman but you don’t want to cross him. He stole my heart with the way he treats women. What happened when he was younger had me feeling had my heart aching for him.
Flash forward to him being in Ruthless under Boomer’s lead and we meet Violet. After learning about what happened to her and how she came into the MC’s lives, Kansas definitely can’t stay away.
Violet is worried but strong, respectful, is a leader and knows what she wants. The way Kansas is with Violet is something out of a fairytale. Their chemistry is off the charts hot!!!
The sex scenes in this book are amazing! There’s a new element to them that we haven’t seen yet and I’m all for it! There are some very surprising events and twists in this story and they just sneak up on you! We get to see more of Homer and he had me cracking up throughout every scene with him in it. I couldn’t stop and I’ll never think about Bingo again without laughing! I love Boomer and how much he’s grown into an amazing Prez and continues to be one but Kansas has my heart hooked and I can’t wait for the next book! K.L. has done it once again!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The Ruthless Kings of Atlantic City have had their fair share of tragedy, betrayal and pain. It seems that Kansas’ road to love is no different, unfortunately.
Kansas knows how to treat a woman with kindness, honesty and care. He’s loyal, dangerous and yet, he has a soft heart when it comes to women and the elderly. He’s always there to take Homer to Bingo, even though he hates going, and he is always ready to stand by his brothers no matter what. The Atlantic City chapter of the Ruthless Kings have had to dig themselves out of the hole that they were put in by the previous president and various members that were more ruthless than they should have been. They are finally showing their community that they are a club that is ready to help their neighbors.
Violet has had a charmed life, but her whole world is crashing down around her and her sisters. Not only does she have no clue who her parents really were, but she doesn’t even know she has a godfather, nor, who he is. She’s about to get a rude awakening when she finally heals enough from the boat accident to talk to Boomer and the Ruthless Kings. Her life is still in jeopardy and she’ll take a couple of hits until things start to settle down for her and she’s able to see her future.
I love Kansas, he’s a bad boy, but one with such a big heart. I love not only his loyalty to his brothers in the MC, but his love and loyalty to his mother. He learned at a young age that we are only given one mother on this earth and we should cherish her for life. He’s a lethal member of the MC as the Sergeant at Arms and acting VP, but he has a soft side of him that really comes out with Violet around. He’s deadly, calm most of the time, and a man that can be counted on, but if you mess with his family or someone he loves, you had better watch out because there is no where you can go or hide that he won’t get his retribution. I love the Ruthless Kings, and I love reading the Atlantic City books because they are just finding themselves and what they want to do and where they want to go. The canvas is wide open for them and they have a lot to discover about their club and how they can make it their own. I can’t wait to keep reading and find out where they go, who joins them, and how they grow. I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend any of the Ruthless Kings books along with the Asylum books, and the Moretti Syndicate books. Really any book by K. L. Savage. They will not disappoint.
Another amazing installment of the Ruthless Kings, Atlantic City chapter. Kansas was the perfect follow up story to Boomers Rise. We get more details on characters mentioned and the doors get opened for the remaining Kings in New Jersey. I have mentioned before and it still hold true; I need a thesaurus to be able to accurately describe my feelings. K.L. Savage keeps the readers invested and wanting more, despite how much we get.
Kansas is a bit different than other Kings. His trauma was discovered during the Vegas chapter book, Boomer. However, in the spin off series beginning with Boomers Rise we got a reminder of his past with the original AC Kings, while this book goes into his past more in the prologue. Chapter one starts off right where Boomers Rise left off. My recommendation would be to read that first.
Kansas is loyal and caring. He shows this with his interactions with all the characters, his brothers included not only the female love interest. He is a strong lead and compliments the club. Violet is the female lead, who is learning to deal with a new environment and family dynamic. She is equally strong and compliments Kansas in a way that makes you believe in true soul mates. In true K.L. fashion, this does not make the story or plot line "cheesy", it adds to the chemistry, making the sexy time scenes smokin.
This new series holds its own against the already established Ruthless Kings of Vegas. It is worth the investment to get sucked in, you wont be disappointed.
This was the second book in the AC series and takes place shortly after the events of Boomer's Rise. Kansas was part of the original AC chapter and suffered greatly during the last reign. Violet sailed into his life after getting caught in a horrible storm. Little do they know the storm is far from over.
Even though I am still enjoying the AC series, I don't feel like it has the same punch as the Vegas chapter series. Maybe I'm just not involved enough with the characters yet, but I feel like the AC stories are a little tamer and a little less traumatizing than I'm used to with K.L.'s books. That being said, this was still a great book. Amos (aka Kansas) falls hard and fast for Violet and she for him. Pretty standard stuff. What really sets this one apart for me is their openness and experimentation. Kansas knows what he likes and instead of passing judgment or being timid in her lack of experience, Violet is more than encouraging in it.
Both narrators are new to me and did a good job. I had a bit of difficulty with the pacing difference between the two (one seemed to move the story along quite quickly compared to the other) but overall it was fine. I will say the female narrator nailed the Irish accent even if it's a brief part of the story.
I feel like the pace of the whole story was like little waves crashing one after another. After they got together there were many bursts of chaos but they settled pretty quickly. I feel like the story was quite fast. The big reveals were pretty good and not overly expected however by the time I got to the final reveal I felt like we had already passed the climax. Maybe there were too many reveals too close together? Again, it could be just due to the fact that this feels like a milder story so the high points kind of flow together. Not a bad thing at all, just not what I expected. 3/5 story and 3/5 narration.
All in all it was a sweet romance with a satisfying ending that still leaves room for many more stories to come. ❤️🎧❤️
I can't say enough about this authors work! I absolutely love the Ruthless Kings MC (both the Las Vegas and Atlantic City chapters), and I'm looking forward to reading all of the new one's coming as well! Each story is unique with awesome characters, hilarious banter, crazy antics, sexy intimate scenes, drama, angst, suspense, violence, and many unexpected twists and turns. The stories will have you hooked from the beginning, and unable to put it down till the very end. It's easy to see why it's become one of my most favorite series and author! I have a feeling that all of the books by K.L. Savage will be on my most favorite list, and I'm definitely not complaining! ;) This story was full of unexpected twists, emotional turmoil, tragedies, but ended with a fantastic HEA. Kansas really surprised me, especially knowing what he's been through. Learning more about his past on top of that, it was unexpected for him to be the kind of man he is, but I was more than thrilled with this. This once small family is quickly growing, and I can't wait to see where they go from here. If you haven't already read the original Ruthless Kings MC series, I would highly recommend that you do! It's not necessary to read this series, but you will have a better understanding of the characters, their backgrounds, connections, the different groups, and the dynamics between all of them. Every story is absolutely fantastic, and you certainly won't be disappointed! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author!
Kansas is a different kind of man within the MC. He is broken from his past and is hopeful for the future. His experience with the old chapter made him more determined to be a good man, which he definitely is.
Kansas makes sure to take care of Violet after her and her sisters are washed ashore. Not knowing anything about her, even her name, he is drawn to her completely. Wanting to know more, do more, be more.
Violet, even though she knows nothing about Kansas, she feels safe with him. She doesn't fear his presence or the other members. She is grateful for the support that they all, especially Kansas, have given her. She comes to terms with her new life and learns things about her parents she never would have expected. Fear for her siblings lives has her staying with the RK. Her heart has her staying with Kansas.
Kansas was written in a way to feel that Kansas and Violet are truly meant for each other - soulmates. The steam is high and the love is clear. In true KL fashion, twists and turns are throughout the book. It also gave a glimpse at some of the other brothers and has made me even more excited to see where the Atlantic City chapter takes us.
***Kansas is book 2 of the Ruthless Kings MC, Atlantic City. However, you meet him in Boomer - Ruthless Kings MC, Las Vegas and again in Bommers Rise - Ruthless Kings MC, Atlantic City book 1. I recommend reading both Boomer and Boomers Rise first.***
🔗🔗ONE SPECTACULAR ADVENTURE🔗🔗 Whipping weevils wiley! Savage serves up some cold harsh reality, rocking this incredibly scrumptious, delectably delightful piece of perfection, delivering one action packed, hard hitting, heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping, spine tingling, rock-my-world dynamo, catapulting this hot little number to staggering heights. True to form, Savage wraps us up snug as a bug in a rug, laying out one sensational tangled web so intricately and precise, luring us deeper until nothing else exists, embodying the riveting drama, gripping intrigue, abusive cruelty, brutal tactics, spiraling danger, electrifying suspense and nailbiting situations converge, attentive to the perilous twists and wicked turns unfolding, blasting this sweet treat to life brilliantly. The raw magnetism, undeniable attraction and smouldering chemistry ignites with such intoxicating intensity, exploding with boundless emotions and infinite affections, drawing our characters closer, binding them together perfectly. The characters are original, tangible and authentic with just enough flaws to add a little spice to the mix. Their personalities are genuine with qualities and traits that balances out perfectly. The scenes are so detailed and descriptive it gives the illusion you're right there in the middle of ground zero with them, feeling everything they feel. Fabulous job Savage, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
We first meet Kansas when he is 16, discovering that is father was not who he thought he was and had secrets that had a huge impact on his life and helped to shape who he becomes as he moves through his life. Violet is the oldest of three sisters and they have been taken in by the MC when the boat they are on with their parents for a long journey is caught in a storm and both parents are killed. Violet and her sisters are injured and being cared for by the MC. Kansas had helped to save Violet and has been drawn to her. Violet is also drawn to Kansas - she feels safe with him and does better when he is by her side.
This was a really interesting read - we get a lot of their story from Kansas perspective, which I loved. This gives us a glimpse into how he thinks and what he is feeling and his thoughts around women and relationships and how his experiences as a kid have really impacted this for him. Their is also real depth around sexuality and very well written around it in a way that you don't see in a lot of books. It's an incredibly steamy read and a lot of fun. I had a slight issue with Violet - she has been homeschooled and is inexperienced sexually, but the way she talks and responds doesn't fit very well with someone from that background. Despite this, I still loved their story and highly recommend it!
Kansas is one of the few remaining original Ruthless Kings of Atlantic City. After the treatment from the former prez, Kansas is more than proud to be a part of the new Kings under Boomer. He has not had an easy life, like so many of the other Ruthless Kings, but he has come to the other side a better person, bound and determined to prove he was not like his old man. After the turmoil of the last few years, Kansas is ready for a change in his personal life. So, when he feels the pull to a woman they rescued from a beached ship…he goes for it.
Violet and her family were involved in a storm off the coast that killed her mother and father. Fortunately she and her two younger sisters were rescued by the Ruthless Kings before they died from exposure. Now, though, they have to figure out how to live their lives after the loss of their parents. But what if there was more to their parent’s lives than they knew about? Are their lives now in danger because of the secrets their parents kept?
Kansas…oh, Kansas. He is definitely going to be on my fave list. He is sweeter than most of the Kings that we are used to but that does not mean that he cannot get business done when needed. He is perfect for Violet and they are 🔥 in the bedroom. I am looking forward to more of the Atlantic City Ruthless Kings!
Exciting MC romance with a fierce brothers, dastardly foes and a sexy romance. We get Kansas' backstory and it's tragic and affects the way he sees himself and leads his life. Plus his woes with the old chapter are horrible. And the past doesn't stay in the past in this story. Kansas is not one for romance until a boatload of sisters crash on the MC's shore. He's immediately enamored with the oldest one Violet aka Springs. She's an innocent but she's strong and resilient as she takes responsibility for her younger sisters after their parents are lost. When her dad's real work makes a shocking reveal and the consequences leave the sisters in danger the brothers scramble to keep them safe. Kansas a fabulous hunk with his sweet affection and insta love for Violet. I love that the author shows a side of Kansas that's sizzling with his drawer of toys and hot sexuality. Violet is all in with the big guy and his big love. She's so sweet! This is a quick, easy read with intense action and danger that can be read as a stand alone. I love the brothers' brutal response to the danger. The romance is sweet and sizzling. The best part of these MC stories are the continuation of storylines, the spectacular brotherhood and relationship that forms between the characters and the reader. Entertaining MC romance! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
Kansas is book 2 about Boomer's club The Ruthless Kings in Atlantic City. This is Kansas' and Violet's story. When I first read about this Atlantic City spin off I figured the characters would be similar to the characters in Las Vegas. Surprisingly this MC chapter while just as fierce as Las Vegas is different. I think Boomer's leadership is why. Each spinoff of the Kings Las Vegas is "seasoned" a different way and evoke my emotion a little differently.
I am prepared to be shredded when I read one of K.L. Savages books. They know how to find and control a reader's emotion and they keep a tight reign throughout the story. The very first page hit me hard with emotions that wrecked me. I read the entire book in one sitting because I had to know what was going to happen. Who needs sleep?
Kansas is full of action, violence and intrigue. At the heart however is a love story. The chemistry between Kansas and Violet comes off the page. Through all the struggle this is a couple we want to see having a happy ending. All of the emotion packed into Kansas is worth the time spent to read the story. Warning there are times when you just feel crushed for the character but somehow the authors pull the reader through and we come out the other side having enjoyed spending time with the Kings.
I was pulled right into this story. The story is kind of crazy lots of action and edge of your seat crazy.
This is a spinoff of the Ruthless Kings MC series so if you want those books are listed here I would recommend reading those books(s) first: Reaper (Ruthless Kings MC, #1) Boomer (Ruthless Kings MC, #2) Tool (Ruthless Kings MC, #3) Poodle (Ruthless Kings MC #4) Skirt (Ruthless Kings MC #5) Pirate (Ruthless Kings MC #6) Doc (Ruthless Kings MC #7) Tongue (Ruthless Kings MC #8) Knives (Ruthless Kings MC #9) Boomer's Rise (Ruthless Kings MC: Atlantic City, #1)
This story is about Violet and Kansas. Violet believes she will be just like her family and she will ruin any chance at a future. She fears her father for good reason as he is evil. When some crazy things go down and her father comes after the club for his drugs at gets crazy. Who can be trusted? Are friends really friends? What happens when he needs to protect Violet can he trust her and will they make it in the end?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read. Can’t wait to learn more about all the MC brothers in this series.
Atlantic City is the place to be! Picking up where we left off in Boomer’s Rise, we learn more about the shipwrecked boat during the storm. The three women aboard as well as the product that must belong to someone and that someone is going to come looking for either the women, the product or both. While our Kings try to figure out who is going to be coming, the women heal and Kansas spends every moment he can with one he calls Springs since she hasn’t spoken.
During Spring’s recovery, we learn more about her, her sisters and the family she lost at sea. Until we learn even more later in regard to the drugs. We also get Kansas’ history and what led him to his life now. His fears about being like his father hold him back from being in a serious relationship but Kansas knows he’s found what he’s been looking for in Springs, someone special to share his life. He stays by Springs’ side throughout her recovery. Springs comes to trust Kansas, the man, not the state as she muses while extremely medicated. The plot of this book surprised me, I did not see it coming and throughly enjoyed the twists. Kansas has new family to get to know, a woman to protect and her two younger sisters to keep the rest of the Kings away from! And I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of the Crow in Violet’s life, at least I hope not!
The Kings will keep you on the edge but keep you laughing as well. I love how all the guys dote on Homer even though he pretends he hates it. Arrow and Homer are a riot. Pulse being Fabio is fantastic!
Well we aren't in Kansas, we are in Atlantic City and what's there you ask - EVERYTHING!!! K.L. Savage has once again created a world and characters that will obliterate your heart and warm it at the same time. This particular story is about Kansas (aka Amos) and Violet (aka Springs). Violet and her two sisters literally landed on the door step of the Atlantic City MC Chapter during a storm. Do the girls only need shelter from the storm or are they bringing a whole new storm to the clubs door step? Oh Boy the journey for Kansas and Violet was riddled with action, suspense, humour, steam, a dash of sweet, and those twists and turns that hit when you least expect. As I devoured this story my Kindle heated up my heart ached, it broke, and it warmed. The antics from some of the members had me laughing out loud, the action and suspense had me biting my nails in anticipation, and the emotions and vulnerability that pour from these big alpha bikers had me swooning and reaching for the tissues. Another Must Read Addition to a series that still has a way to go but has already offered so much!!
Violet and her two sisters were rescued from a boat filled with drugs (end of the last book) Right now they need to get them checked out and warmed up. He can't seem to think of anything but warming her up in the most pleasant way possible. He's told himself he can't love and have a life and family other than the MC. She makes him think there could be a future but with the drugs and the man who wants them out there he has to make sure the women are safe.
She has to be the one in charge of her sisters as the oldest. One of them isn't making it easy until Boomer sets her straight. The person who really supports her is the one she wants. She's never really wanted a man before but something about him makes her feel safe. She just doesn't know how he feels.
While they fight their feelings the club worries about the drugs and who expected them. Who could be after the women and club for shielding them? There are other brothers going through things, Some funny some sad some we just don't know. Think juice boxes, abusive men, mourning, crusty old men, and so much more. For sure never a dull moment. Just wonder if they will make it through alive.
Violet & Kansas love story we start with their back story.
We learn why Kanas is his name and his past comes back for him. Violet and her sisters survived a storm in their family boat. They still recovering from the shock.
Kansas likes to be in the middle of love and hate. He wants balance and keep his his desire to his heart. He doesn't care that it suffocates him. Until the girl with curly hair and bright eyes came to him
Violet a.k.a Springs My heart goes to her & cause am a big sister myself. The hardest thing in this world is giving you young siblings news that you know will break their hearts. The ones person she trust is Kansas and he makes her feel safe
NOW, typical Ruthless Kings when they like a girl there is someone trying to steal them away. This person is the Irish Mob called The Irish Crow they want to Violet's family. Why are they after them? Their only her and her sisters left...
My heart is still broken for Wolf💔
☆MUST READ☆ One of my favourite series and it getting BIGGER!! Action, suspense and true loyal men that will do anything for their MC family & women.
I'm going to start out by saying that the beginning of Kansas' story is set in Oklahoma (which is pretty original) when he was Amos. Amos finds out his father is a shady fellow who does his shady business in Kansas (a state that I'm not fond of whatsoever living in Oklahoma myself). Fast forward to present day, and Amos is now Kansas, a member of the Ruthless Kings MC in Atlantic City, and he's falling for a woman that they rescued named Violet, but he calls her Springs before she gives her name. I find myself loving the fact that these bada** men totally fall for their women hard & quickly which allows for a lot of fun sexy times. Oh, and then there's Homer, an older secondary who never fails to entertain the hell out of me. It wouldn't be a K.L. Savage book if there wasn't danger in the shadows, and after Violet finds out that her father is a drug dealer, well, the bigs that he sells to may be ready to take their pound of flesh from not getting their product so it's safe to say that the twists are coming in hot to get my f-bombs dropping loudly. I will NEVER NOT ONCE stop craving what this dynamic duo provides so bring on the next book! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
