Pirate (Ruthless Kings Las Vegas Chapter Book 5) Kindle Edition
I miss alcohol.
The craving claws against my stomach every day.
And being in this rehab center doesn’t help.
No one understands how it feels to not be able to save someone you love.
I had to watch Macy’s demise.
How she screamed for me to help her.
I hear those screams. They echo in my head. A song on repeat.
And a patient here, Sunnie, she tries to make me feel better.
She reads a damn book to me every chance she gets, and it grinds my nerves.
Who the hell is that happy? She makes me want to drink.
Then, she shares her pain, and I realize her bright disposition is a mask.
I find myself wanting to make her smile, to make her happiness permanent.
Nothing is ever that easy.
She and I have a common enemy.
My nightmare has been released from prison.
Her nightmare is the reason why he is free.
I want to be done with the MC after they made me go to rehab.
But Sunnie deserves retribution.
Macy deserves to finally rest in peace.

About the author

K.L. Savage is the pseudonym of two friends addicted to rough love, who decided they were tired of looking for the kind of books they wanted to read. They had an itch that needed to be scratched, and as every girl knows, nothing scratches better than an alpha.
They write about gritty, alpha males, sometimes their dark sides, and the women they love.
If you have the same itch, their alpha males should fix that.

- Reviewed in Australia on 21 December 2020Verified PurchaseWhat a journey! Pirate is all heartbreak and devastation that left my emotions wrung dry and my heart sore. This is an amazing read and reminds us to appreciate all we have and treasure life.
- Reviewed in Australia on 12 December 2020Verified PurchaseWhile reading this book I found my self crying, angry, sad , frustrated and heart broken. This was such a sad story in the beginning but became a shining light to Pirate and Sunnie in the end. Let me tell you this book has triggers it's raw it's visceral it's gut wrenching its heart breaking and it shines a light on alcohol and drug addiction and kidnapping.
As much as I enjoyed reading this harrowing story I have questions about certain characters and ones not even mentioned. I'd like to know what happened to Loch and his sister.? And I want to know where pirates parents where after the kidnapping and death of pirates sister . Where have they been the past 18 years ? And how did pirate end up with the MC ? Why didn't they do something about pirates drinking sooner. ? See so many questions lol. But it was still one of the best books I've read so far in the series I thought Skirts book was the best but Pirates just beat his book and that's saying something because they've all been great in one way shape or form . Each member of the Ruthless Kings MC is a little bit how should I put it ? .... Effed Up lol they've all been through hell , they've all done things in their lives that are questionable and down right frightening but yet find a redeeming piece of themselves when they meet the women who steal their hearts and love on them like no one ever has before. I'm happy that Pirate and Sunnie finally got their happy ever after at the ending they deserve that and alot more.

- Reviewed in Australia on 2 October 2020I have no words to describe how amazing Pirate and Sunnie's book was.
I cried from the very beginning but I love how they worked through their issues together and were there for each other.
Pirate was a really emotional read that I couldn't put down. It is my favorite book in the Ruthless Kings series so far.
Congratulations K.L. Savage on another amazing book!

- Reviewed in Australia on 20 October 2021Verified PurchasePatrick is a hopeless drunk and years of watching him waste his life away the MC finally put him into rehab.
Gut wrenching and at times hard to read as he struggles with the realities of sobriety.
I cried and I cheered him and Sunny on.
Few problems with the book, mostly around the gapping holes in the story. As readers we don't need everything spelled out but we do deserve to understand how he managed to drink himself silly at 14 years old. Where were his parents?
Also some interesting characters are introduced and we don't know what happens to them.
But by far the weirdest thing is the epilog... Gale the nurse - where the feck did that come from and why? I'm sure it was supposed to be sexy but it felt dangerous, in not a good way. The book ending left me worried for her instead of basking in the glow of the hea.
- Reviewed in Australia on 10 October 2020This book is in somewhat hard to read because of the real life issues the story but it is a all about overcoming bad experiences to move on to a better life. The story progresses fast with real insight into the struggles faced by people with crippling addictions but family, friendship and shared experience are the key to coming through to a more meaningful existence. Good read but some challenging themes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pirate Ruthless Kings MC
Verified PurchaseI thought it was hard for me to read Poodle but Pirate was so much worse! I knew from all of the previous books that he had a problem, he was an alcoholic. But we didn't know the root of the problem until we got his book and he was forced to go to rehab, get clean, and get back to his responsibilities with Ruthless Kings. He was only 13 years old when his life changed forever. This is a raw, emotional, heart-wrenching book. But it shows us what an addict goes through and how they slowly get to a better place. In rehab he meets Sunshine (Sunnie) and they form a bond fairly quick. Together they see that they can overcome their addictions as long as they have one another. But they have many obstacles and hurdles to get to be together. You will definitely need a box of kleenex with this one! Definitely recommend this book and the rest of the series

5.0 out of 5 stars Pirate/Patrick & Sunshines story
Verified PurchaseReading all the previous Ruthless Kings books pirate was a character that intrigued me.
I knew there must of been a reason why he drank all the time but what only God knew what.
Reading his story had me gripped I never would of guessed the storyline in a million years.
There's no wonder he drank 24/7 no wonder he never wanted to remember.
Awful subject, brilliant book, excellently wrote had me crying. Poor Macy, Poor bubba
